Worst ever indian food. The taste was not good and most importantly the foods were not fresh at all. Felt sick after my dinner here

The all you can eat buffet spread was fantastic, with a variety of delicious options. From tender chicken, flavorful lamb, and succulent goat dishes to plenty of great vegetarian choices, there’s something for everyone. The flavors were rich and authentic, and everything was perfectly spiced. The highlight for me was the Gulab Jamun for dessert – it was absolutely delicious! Soft, warm, and perfectly sweet. I can’t wait to return for another round. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving great Indian food in Philly.

Come here for the buffet, where you can sample a lot of northern Indian dishes. Some are good, some are just okay. Try the mains, and the pudding. The rices, and tea, not so much.

Google
curry goat is the best, naan is not soft, milk tea is little sweet but hot enough.

The food was good. My beef with them is just that. I ordered lamb saag and got beef instead. If you don’t have what I ordered, cancel the order. Don’t replace it without my knowledge. I eat lamb all the time, so yes I know the difference.

My family has been going here for over 25 years. Probably about the same amount of time since they’ve been open. My absolute favorite dish is chicken tikka masala. I haven’t found one restaurant in Philly that makes it this way. But anything you order from the menu is going to be delicious. I’ve been going for years so I’ve tried many other dishes and they are always just as delicious. Also i love the bar specials and desserts! Don’t forget to order dessert! The mango lassi is simply amazing to drink if you want a sweet beverage. They also have popular mango ice cream. No one else makes it like them.

Google
Went because they had a dinner buffet. Selection was a bit smaller than we hoped. Food was fine but nothing out of the ordinary. Has a bar and the beers are cheap. Parking on the street is reasonably easy. Not the best Indian food but it is tough to find a buffet for dinner. There is also an ala carte menu.

Google
I love Indian food because of this place. It's easy, efficient, tastes excellent, and you're in and out. The staff is attentive and the hours are decent. You never have to wait for seating; you'll be seated immediately upon arrival. Parking can be a little tricky, depending on the time you arrive. I've consistently returned to this place as a go-to for good, satisfying Indian food for at least 12 years.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to have lunch here with a friend the other day and I totally forgot about the lunch buffet special and how there's less of a crowd! Y'all already know I tore the buffet up lol sometimes they don't have samosas but today they sure did! The samosas here are one of my favorite things alongside the mint chutney to dip into it. The chicken tikka masala was amazing today and I noticed they sprinkled the cilantro on a bunch of the buffet items, which gave so much of a heightened flavor profile to everything. I love the chill, quiet ambience during lunch and still managed to finish a good two-place worth of food. If you can make it the lunch and catch that buffet pricing, definitely do!

Yelp
The food here was amazing and mouth watering. The customer service here was also superb, and they were extremely friendly even offering to wrap our food for us to take back. Haven't had an experience this pleasant in a while. I wholeheartedly recommend this place, not just for the experience or the food, but also the price. Having paid only 20 dollars each, we all got two courses plus a desert.

Yelp
Our office had a hankering for Indian food and our co-worker from India recommended New Delhi since it has been one of his favorites for awhile. We found parking in a lot right beside the building. The staff was friendly and patient with my questions. I appreciated that they had spice levels since we had a mix of people wanting their food mild and spicy. The buffet looked appealing and the seating areas were clean. The inside was nice and pretty big. I imagine they are packed during busier times. We were taking our order to go, but the buffet looks like a good time. We ordered Veggie Samosas, Paneer Makhni - cheese cubes cooked in a tomato sauce with butter [gluten-free], mild and spicy Butter Chicken (Makhni) tender pieces of chicken tandoori cooked in a fresh tomato sauce with butter [gluten-free] and Chicken Tandoori half chicken marinated in yogurt and herbs, then barbecued [gluten-free]. Some plain naan and for dessert Gulab Jamun home-made milk-balls dipped in honey syrup. I really enjoyed the flavors of the spicy Chicken Makhni. The meat was tender and the tomato sauce had a range of spices that made it hard to say when! The chicken tandoori had nice flavors too, but the meat was a tad dry. The Paneer was good, but the star of the show was the Chicken Makhni. Throw some rice and mint chutney in with the chicken makhni and naan .... Happiness .... I would love to return to try a Biryani. The Gulab Jamun was a miss. It lacked the syrup flavor I'm used to. The pricing was around $33 per person for what we ordered. There were leftovers. I would recommend ordering ahead as the wait time was a bit long. Everyone was stuffed and happy that we tried New Delhi. I'd repeat more often if I lived in the area.

Yelp
On a recent trip to Philly I paid a visit to the New Delhi Indian Restaurant for they were featured as having the number 2 Indian buffet in America in a recent article in 2023 by Far and Wide. I had great expectations and luckily they delievered! This year I had the number four Indian buffet in Phoenix called India Palace which was good yet far to access being car-free since the Lyft there and back from my homestay in Phoenix was more than the buffet, In San Francisco aka my current home I went this year to Amber's India buffet in downtown San Francisco. They were solid for what vegan options they had yet far too many of their offerings contained dairy or were non-veg which was a bummer since I am a longtime vegan of 25 years. Service was on point and straight forward for a buffet. Ambiance was chill and was an Indian Buffet with some Indian deities along with a nice vibe. So at the New Delhi Restaurant in Philly I was delighted that there were several clearly marked vegan options on the buffet with the exception of one paneer dish aka dairy, naan which contained dairy, and some non-veg mains. The clearly named vegan offerings they had were: Aloo Rajmah curry- kidney beans and potatoes cooked in a mild spiced sauce. I found this solid yet was very liquidy. It could have used more kidney beans and potatoes as was a curry that was a bit soup like. Masala fries- hot and crisp fries seasoned with Indian spices. These were tasty yet could have been hotter. I arrived at 1pm and buffet started at 11:30am so perhaps this is why. Basmati rice- lightly seasoned Indian rice. Simple rice that paired nice with the vegan entrees. Chana Masala- classic chickpea dish with herbs and spices in a medium sauce. These were great. Good flavor and just enough heat yet not overbearing. Vegetable Samosa- these were tasty and enjoyed two of them Aloo Gobi Mutter- Cauliflower and potatoes cooked with peas and fresh Indian spices. These were solid. The vegan entrees I had were paired with three kind of tasty chutneys on the buffet. All in all a solid Indian buffet that I recommend is head and shoulders above other of the best Indian buffets in America for aforementioned reasons. Check them out!

Yelp
Dining at New Delhi is a unmatched experience. I drove all the way from Northeast Philadelphia to have lunch at New Delhi. What inspired me to come to the restaurant was an illustrious recommendation, from my friend, to eat the paneer briyani. In her words, no other indian restaurant can match the flavor and quality of New Delhi's paneer briyani. Knowing her extensive experience with indian cuisine, I knew I had to experience it for myself. Arriving at the restaurant, I was seated quickly. All together my order included, paneer briyani, raita, garlic naan and mango lassi. When my food arrived at my table I was astonished at the large serving sizes. A single order of naan, came in 8 pieces. The paneer briyani was like a mountain of shining rice. The spice profile of the paneer briyani was unlike anything I have ever experienced with other indian dishes. After one spoonful, it was definitively my favorite dish. The chunks of paneer were generous and evenly distributed in the rice, each paneer was unimaginaly delicious. Honestly I could not control myself and ate the entire dish in one sitting. I would say the long travel distance was worth it for dining at New Delhi.

Yelp
Probably one of the better Indian buffets within a 100 mile radius. The restaurant is very clean, the bathroom is well scrubbed and there is no smell. I was greeted by a friendly guy upon entering and quickly seated. The food is hot and fragrant, they did not skimp out on the spices while still not too spicy. Buffet foods are fresh and they top it off when it runs low. A few of the signs are incorrect, ie: they noted a goat dish but there was no goat at all. Clientele consists mostly of college students.

Nik G.

Yelp
If want indian flavors, skip this resturant. Don't know how we ate a few bites. Yogurt (raita) was sweet, sweet was extra sweet and watery. Somosa filling was like boiled potatoes mashed added a few spices and filled. Inside dough was not properly cooked outside was crisp. Seems like put in extra hot oil to fry and dumped it out. Anyway, everyone has their own taste and preference. This is what we experienced.

Yelp
Gotta love a good Indian buffet. While this might not be the best Indian buffet I've ever had, it is hands down the best one in Philadelphia city. We were immediately seated. They asked immediately for our drink orders which I didn't really like. I wish they would have come back to us after we had settled down. We ended up getting a mango lassi which was pretty good. Afterward, we hit the amazing Indian bar. There were a ton of salad options with this amazing onion chutney. The place has Americanized Indian food as well such as masala fries and an Indian style fried chicken. The Indian food was pretty good as well (except the Chana masala was too sweet). There was mutter paneer with small pieces of paneer, chicken curry, naan, chicken biriyani, and chicken tandoori. The desserts were pretty good. There was an amazing gulab jamun. The kheer (rice pudding) and chocolate pudding were ok (not really worth the calories). The decoration was interesting. There was not a ton of Indian pictures around the restaurant like most Indian restaurants. The bathroom was down a really long hallway that was surrounded by metal. The bathroom did have COVID friendly door handles (never used my wrist before). The only weird thing is someone doesn't come to pick up the dirty plates when you go up to pick up a new plate. They have a place for you to place the plates at.

Yelp
Still an old favorite quick seeding, time quick response time, decent service. I'm not vegan options on the menu to make a and enough omnivore options for my friends. Foods, pretty good and authentic. They have beer and wine as well. The winds if he though, because you never know how long the bottle has been open for, however but you can't go wrong with a beer. There's also a student discount which is helpful to a lot of people. There is enough room for large parties as well. The place gets busy but they never fun out of food on the buffet line, which is always appreciated.

Yelp
New Delhi is basically the only Indian buffet in town. I stopped by on a whim and am so glad that I did! During a weekday lunch it was fairly quiet (I was dining alone). Extremely attentive staff were continuously make sure I didn't need anything and brought me my check when I asked without ever feeling pushy. I was really impressed by the variety of the buffet. They have samosas on the buffet!! The value is incredible just for that alone, in my opinion. They also have all the classic dishes, and some pretty bangin' curry French fries! I particularly liked the goat curry and the chicken tika masala. Such a great time and it's lovely to be able to get all the sides (raita, naan, chutneys) and such a variety for an affordable price. They have a cash discount and an additional discount if you sign up for their email newsletter. Definitely make sure to take advantage of both! They also have student discounts.

Yelp
It's got a good little assortment of things for a quick buffet. I like the lamb and tikka masala chicken. Nothing too fancy or extraordinary. Tried to get the 10% off but the email came in way after we left.

Nilesh S.

Yelp
I ordered Veggie platter appetizers and Barbara vada and samosa were the worst ever. The color of the batter should be golden and crispy, it was black. Can't believe this place is in business for this long. This is my 2nd worst experience. Will not go there again

Yelp
I'm a little spoiled bc of all the amazing indian food in nj , i thought new delhi was just ok, not particularly mindblowing but gets the job done. The selection feels smaller than most other places ive been to, but i enjoyed their veggie pakoras and masala fries. The paneer they use is kind of interesting lol, very small cubes and fried. I think i prefer the traditional way of prepping it personally, and i wish wish wish they offered a vegetarian saag or palak paneer option! A good meal if youre hungry and looking to eat a lot.

Yelp
Found this little spot just walking around Philly and decided to pop in for a quick lunch with my friend. The place is very clean and has a lot of chairs, we came around 12:30 pm so it was not super crowded. They had a lunch special going on for the buffet I believe it was about $15 so pretty solid price considering its AYCE. The food selection is not super big, just about 4-5 main dishes, rices, naan, and sauces, but it's all the staple indian food so if you're looking for an inexpensive indian buffet that has all the essentials I would definitely recommend this spot. The service was very quick with getting us water and we just got up to pay at the counter when we finished.

Emma L.

Yelp
My favorite Indian food takeout spot. Their naan and basmati rice are fluffy. Their chicken tikka masala is creamy. No complaints.
google avatar

Jared M.

Yelp
The food was delicious. Flavorful, and made with high quality ingredients. All you care to eat for an extremely reasonable price. They also have beer available for $4. The service was somewhat slow, but this only applies to drinks, as the restaurant is a buffet. The ambiance is casual and relaxed. I definitely recommend. I can't remember the last time I got this amount of value for my money at a restaurant. The one drawback I would say is that the lunchtime buffet has a somewhat limited selection.

Vigrinia H.

Yelp
They have all you can eat buffet or you can order from their menu. I had tried all you can eat buffet. They have three different meats dishes, some veggies dishes and some appetizers, two different rice and Naan. Two different Deserts are included plus masala tea (my favorite). Personally I enjoy their curry goat, chicken wing pakora, rice, meatballs saag, dal makhni. They have beer specials. Whoever like to have some, it is a good deal. Will go back for more.

Yelp
I just visited this place for the first time for their weekday night buffet, and let me tell you - it was well worth the $20. There were about 5-6 entrees with 3 that were vegan, rice, naan, veg samosas, and chicken wings/drumsticks. They also have a few salad items and mint sauce, diced onion, and tamarind chutney (all three were top tier). For dessert they had gulab jamun. They also offer a huge dispenser of chai. Interesting to note: their chai is great but a little heavy on the sugar and licorice. As for the vegetarian options, everything I had was excellent and soon enough--three plates in--I was on the struggle bus. Kudos to the employees for courteously leaving me to my misery as I sat there in the restaurant, fighting tooth and nail through my food coma and cold sweats. Ngl, it was touch and go at times. Service was quick and welcoming, and I will certainly visit again. PS if you find their website and sign up for their e-newsletter, you can get a coupon for 15% off if you pay in cash, as well as a coupon for 10% off dine-in and takeout orders.

Yelp
Been going here for decades. Best Indian buffet I've ever had/ some of the best Indian food period. Highly recommend for the buffet. Service is also always super friendly and top notch

Yelp
Excellent food. Great buffet selection! Great friendly staff and great service. Clean restaurant.

Yelp
After eighteen+ months of suffering the pandemic with a craving for indian buffet, we finally braved the elements for the solid, bountiful buffet (available for lunch and dinner!!) at New Delhi. The offerings included: chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, goat curry, lamb saag (spinach), basmati rice, chicken biryani, chicken wings pakora, shai paneer bhuna (paneer cheese cubes in cream), bandh gobi (cabbage and pea curry), alu rajmah (kidney beans and potato) curry, channa masala (chickpeas), naan, vegetable samosa, spicy masala french fries, a serviceable salad bar w/ tamarind sauce and various chutneys, and for a sweet finish, gulab jamun (sugar syrup soaked donuts) and perfectly sweet milky hot chai tea. Simple and straightforward, no frills... it satisfied the craving.

Yelp
I been going here for yrs and I enjoy dining in. Their staff are always nice and helpful. The only complaint that I have is that their bathroom is always super cold no matter the time of yr.

Yelp
Like at least one other reviewer, I used to go to Sitar India--on and off for 20 years until it closed. So when it was time to meet with my business partner, it seemed only fitting to pick another buffet in the University City area. New Delhi is, as far as I know, the last Indian buffet standing in the neighborhood. I remember having gone there a long time ago and enjoying it, so why not try it again? The environment was pleasant enough, and the staff was friendly (though not one of them wore a mask over their nose), but the food was just OK. There's a good variety, but for me, it was bland. I appreciate that buffets often cater to the lowest common denominator when it comes to spice, and I wasn't looking for spicy, but I wanted it to be more well-seasoned and more flavorful. Also, the rice pudding was cloyingly sweet. Would I come back? If I were in the neighborhood, probably--maybe it was just an off day for the kitchen--but I'd likely see what other options existed first.
google avatar

Jonathan C.

Yelp
To my delight upon entry it is a 12-pan buffet. The flavors are richer than the king of kings. Groovy Indian pop at just the right background volume. Extremely good as hell
google avatar

凯

Yelp
The flavor is good. Service is good. Price is reasonable. 4 star instead of 5 because the choices of food is a little limited for a buffet.
google avatar

Epicure D.

Yelp
Total garbage food. The chicken biryani had no chicken. The goat or lamb (or whatever animal it was) dish was full of fat and oily. Omg. I think I got some kind of food poisoning eating it. The tandoori chicken was probably at least a week old. Tasteless junk. And they charge $20 for this junk buffet ? Seriously? If I could give this place a negative 5 stars - I would. Do not waste a single dime here. Total garbage food.
google avatar

Gerardo A.

Yelp
Not the best India food I have eaten, service was not that great eighter, I say is like eating a burger from Burger kings, crappy meat and expense with is no bueno. I had a high expectation of this restaurant after one of my friends told me it was the best India food that he has eaten in Philly. The offer a buffet as most the Indian restaurant I have been before, they also have a selection of India dishes, for me, I went for the garlic naan and went I order it, the server gives me some attitude I don't know why... and India shrimp biryani medium. For my surprise the biryani was not at all good and not spicy, I normally order my Indian food Medium because I like to feel it a bit spicy on it. But this one didn't have any spicy, the shrimp was not that much and rice dint had any taste at all. My friends had some food from the buffet that with the look, was better, but I cannot confirm or deny this because I didn't eat it.

Yelp
Celebrated a family member's birthday here. We had a very large party (just under 20 people) and when we called to make a reservation, they were happy to accommodate us. The interior was clean and the buffet options were a great variety! We had a mixture of vegetarians and meat eaters - all felt that they had a good amount of options to choose from. I also appreciated that the spice in some of the dishes was good and not too muted (I've found at some other Indian restaurants, they tend to tone down the spice so much that it feels tasteless). The price was also very reasonable. Will definitely be back again!

Amy S.

Yelp
I would give this a 5 star review but for one reason: customer service. We passed through town and came across this highly recommended Indian restaurant that happened to be within walking distance of our hotel. The food did not disappoint, the mango chicken was delicious and the masala and saag were tasty! From the time we put our names on the list to getting seated to getting food was ridiculously long. I think if someone had been upfront about the timing, it would have gone a long way to play the odds of finding somewhere else to eat. Overall it was worth the wait but not fun with hungry teenagel boys. Not a lot of upfront communication

John H.

Yelp
Have been going here for 20 years now. Always enjoy their food, the rotating selection, and friendly staff. I used to enjoy the homemade kulfi but that's no longer offered... The prices are very reasonable, especially given wildly fluctuating food prices in the grocery store. The quality is consistently good. It's always clean, and the service is responsive. This is the standard of an excellent buffet, and I applaud them for keeping it going when many places have stopped offering a buffer, or offer one with less options for more money.
google avatar

Alise R.

Yelp
Pre-pandemic I ate at their buffet a few times a month and it was always stellar esp when they had tea at lunch time. Now I get take out from here at least once a week. Every single thing I order here is delicious and there are always enough leftovers for lunch the next day.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm going to start this review with a confession - I'm a snob when it comes to restaurants that have a buffet format. That is, I avoid them. Past (limited) experience has indicated that when a restaurant has a buffet, especially with all-you-can-eat pricing, the quality of the individual dishes is less than it would otherwise be. But in quarantine world, there's no self-serve buffets at restaurants anymore (I honestly wonder if they'll come back even after stay-at-home orders are lifted), so 16 years after I first heard of the New Delhi restaurant, I decided to finally give it a chance for takeout. Not sure what the usual experience here would be like, but after one meal both my partner and I have quickly added this to our go-to list of great restaurants in University City/West Philadelphia. The service was very cordial, and the prices were incredible for the quality and portion sizes. I got the Navratan korma at medium spiciness, and the delicious, creamy curry sauce that bathed the vegetables was hot heaven. My partner's option was the vegan alu mutter (peas & potatoes cooked in a curry sauce), and he got it at medium plus spiciness, and he was really happy with his choice too. We also got an order of vegetable samosas to share, and those were pretty great too. Glad we gave New Delhi a chance, and plan to go again (for non-buffet meals of course). Next time I'll probably get a vegan option, because the one problem for me with my entree was it was a little too rich (we both had enough leftovers to contribute to two other entire dinners).

Phani K.

Yelp
I give my honest review. After reading many reviews I drove almost one hour to go there, with expectation i can have some descent food. The food preparation and quality is too bad. Aroma is bad and taste is not exception. Few Veg dishes are fine. Non veg is complete No No. The amount of food color goes in it is a lot these colors are carcinogenic. Last but not least the food they offer will may cost 6$ , unfortunately you have to pay 18 $ My reason for writing this review is not to spread bad name about the business. When you choose to do something please do with passion money will always follow you. There are lot of areas to improve make customers happy they will bring more fortune. Not just me many customers will never return even myself. Thanks my review should not hurt anyone It's just an attempt to help to show their weaknesses.

Yelp
This was the first place I had Indian buffet and I've loved it since. We got takeout today and ate until our tummies hurt. The only thing I didn't like was the meat samosa - the normal veggie one was all I wanted and needed. We had the alu mutter, dal dish, tika masala chicken and butter chicken. I love naan and theirs is huge and scrumptious - perfect for scraping up the last bits of sauce (or correctly using it to pickup and eat food during the meal). My husband described our meal as comfort food - when you just want something so delicious and easy to eat. We need to go back again soon!

Yelp
I've been here a bunch, and this last time for weekend lunch buffet was quite different. Apparently, lately they've added a lot of options, both meat based and vegetarian/GF. While I'm usually partial to Ekta around the corner for flavor, I was happy to be able to get over 6 main dishes, 4 sides, and 2-3 desserts all with a student discount to top it off. Like I said, if you're looking for super spicy or super flavorful Indian food, I think New Delhi plays it a bit on the safer side, allowing for more people of varying palates to enjoy everything. I'm also so happy with the goat curry, with tender meat and fatty pieces both on and off the bone. The korma, chicken tikka masala, and vegetables balls in sauce all added variety to the buffet, and I got to try at least 4 things I haven't had in the area at the closest buffets. They also serve alcohol, so if you don't want to BYO like at Ekta or Sitar, come and grab cheap beers at happy hour!
google avatar

Chelle K.

Yelp
My favorite Indian restaurant in the West Philadelphia/University City area. Not the cheapest option for takeout, but definitely the tastiest tikka masala and garlic naan around. All of the ingredients taste fresh, the spice levels are just right, and the samosas are huge and flavorful (a must-get if you're craving an appetizer or vegetarian option)! In the midst of the pandemic, New Delhi has quickly become my go-to takeout and delivery spot.

Yelp
I have been going to New Delhi on and off since college, over 10 years now. It's not a place I frequent often, more like once a year or every few years or so. There is much better quality Indian food in the area and in the city. However, it is a great solid option for bang for your buck, decent Indian food to hit the spot. Buffet is appx $14 per person for dinner/ weekends. There are all the usual favorites, tikka masala, samosas, chicken vindaloo, etc. It always surprises me that I rarely see butter chicken at Indian restaurants.. it's such a popular dish! There is also a small salad bar, along with chocolate pudding and also a rice pudding for dessert. Their alcohol is insanely cheap $2 beer of the day was Victory Summer Love. $3 shots and $5 top shelf shots.. college kids, you're welcome. My biggest take away point is, curb your expectations - you get what you pay for. Most Indian restaurants charge about $14 + per dish/entree. Clearly you won't get the same quality for $14 for all you can eat. However if you are not picky, can't tell the difference between Indian food or want to try a bunch of different dishes on a budget, i think New Dehli is a solid option to hit that spot.

Nikki R.

Yelp
This place was a college student's safe haven. Especially if you were really hungry between midterms or finals, and needed an all-you-can-eat buffet to get you through. I normally avoid buffets, but I always came back here. Variety and flavor were impeccable. Service was good. I remember eating here until I was in a food coma, and then wandering back to my dorm.

Yelp
First all, I had ordered a mango lassi before I started the buffet. it tasted sweeter than usual and I couldn't find the yogurt taste at all..it's like a mango smoothie that you can find anywhere else...disappointed. Second all, I don't understand how people find the chicken "good", I tried both and they were dried like my grandmother's feet. There are only 20ish items, so I got to tried all of them...none of them were actually spicy, not even a little bit, the only thing that I would call spicy is the fresh chili pepper in the salad bar. I liked the lamb with the curry one but there's 80% of bone so I didn't actually get to eat the lamb itself, just had the lamb flavored juice over the rice tasted . The dessert is also limited I can name them all: rice pudding, canned fruit, chocolate saucing and a strange tasting donut ball( like a used soggy sponge soaked into caramel oil) Nothing exciting about this buffet, I just want to give it a "meh". If you don't eat spicy at all though you might actually love it, but I need my Indian cuisine spicy. That's the whole point of eating it.

Yelp
My non-profit found New Delhi as an affordable dinner option near Penn for a large group. The service was very efficient (the staff is basically standing at the counter in the back, waiting for you to flag them or for someone to finish a plate of food). THE WAIT: It wasn't very busy on a Friday night at 6pm. There was plenty of space for our group of ~30. There were a few other small groups eating as well. THE FOOD: FYI, most things were at least a little spicy! The best items were the Channa masala, samosa, and rice pudding. I also really liked my Mango Lassi (ordered separately). The Gulab Jamun was dry, the goat had lots of bone to pick around, and the Chicken Tikka was dry. The naan was stale.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much from the outside but my God the food is so good. It's probably the best Indian food I've ever tasted and this is coming from a South Asian. Because of how it tasted the first time I ordered, I decided to order it another time and it did not disappoint. The service was incredible, the food was freshly made and so hot when it arrived to our place. The butter chicken is a must from this place :)

Yelp
The chicken tikka masala is so delicious! With garlic naan! The best. Chefs kiss. I order this every time for the last few years!

Yelp
I'm a big fan of New Delhi. Between me and my roommate, we probably order from here at least once a week via Grubhub. I have yet to eat in person or try the buffet, but am excited to do so when we are able to. We always get the naan and either a Chicken Tikka masala, Mattar Paneer, or Malai kofta. We also love to get a side of the Tamarind Chutney (which is reasonably priced and lasts us a few weeks). I prefer the Mattar Paneer to the Malai Kofta, but they are all good options. The thing to look out for the most is the spice level. There have been a few times I've gone up to "Medium" since I pride myself on loving spice (and I'm Indian), but dang is Medium spicy. I always need to remind myself to stick to Mild or Mild+ for my orders going forward. On the off chance that I have to call the restaurant to make a modification or ask a question, the staff is also generally helpful. My biggest testament to how solid of an option New Delhi is for Indian takeout is that my SO (who used to live in University City near the restaurant 5 years ago and ate there all the time), still enjoys that we order from them today even now that we are in Center City.

Yelp
Their buffet hav two bars, one main entree bar, one salad bar. Selections are very limited, they have multiple same entrees rather than different selections on the same bar. Overall, taste is not bad, nann is great. Not that many vegetarian option other than fresh salad bar. Food is a bit too spicy for me. Ordered Mango yogurt drink, it is delicious. Also they offer discount if you are a student or faculty.

Yelp
This place is the bomb. The buffet is awesome with great variety. You would think that buffets have rather poor quality of food, but I didn't feel that way at all about this spot. The service is fast, waiters are very responsive, and prices are fair (buffet $16). Would highly recommend.

Yelp
I came here with a friend for dinner. This place has a little more selection than one of the Indian buffets I had gone to. Their paneer dish is RIDICULOUSLY GOOD! I like their chicken as well, well cooked and fresh. They have a big salad selection. I liked all the entrees that went with the rice and naan breads. I never knew I liked okra until I tried it that night there, along with the lamb they have. The place is very affordable! They also do 10% for those with student ID and faculty ID I think. I felt like the waiters there were attentive and made sure that our waters were always filled and our finished plates were taken away.

Yelp
My favorite Indian place currently! I love their vegan special menu. For $16, you get a choice of an appetizer, an entree with rice, tandoori roti, three chutneys and mango juice. I love to order the patata wada, they're delicious fried potato balls. The chutneys are all delicious. Each has their own unique flavor. They pair well with the patata wada's and roti. The Chana masala is delicious too. I always walk away stuffed!
