New Garden Chinese Restaurant

Second time here and the food is good. Love the string beans but love these mini dumplings even more! Super fresh!! Tossed them in the dumpling sauce and chili oil and was halfway done before leaving the parking lot. I work nearby and they are always quick and accommodating for my 30 minute lunch break. Will keep coming back!

Half chicken was fried to the point the meat was completely dry and overcooked. Hot and sour was the worst I've tasted. I've been going there for three years and the food is going down hill. It used to be very good.

I ordered three different meals and I paid over $30 which I had no problem until my food was delivered and my girl was eating her friend chicken wings and found a hair. It was mine or hers I have locs and her hair is short this hair was long. I called to just ask for a refund of just HER meal and the tried to offer me a discount or a new one. I said no I just wanted to refund and the person on the phone proceeds to tell me they need to get the food back so that they can see the hair for themselves. I eat from here all the time and have never had this issue I wasn’t even asking for the whole $36 back just her meal and they kept trying to tell me the owner needs to see the hair that fried into my girls chicken. Don’t eat here if you like clean food but if you want hair in your food and to be offered new food with probably more hair in it.

I have been eating at New Garden since they opened. The food is reliable and pricing is good. I have a review already for this restaurant, but this is a specific review for a specific reason. For over 2 years now, I have been unlucky enough to get my food delivered by the male driver whose FINGER NAILS gross me out everytime he hands me the food, not to mention that he ALWAYS rounds the total up when he gets to your door, like you won't notice. Please. PLEASE!! make him cut his finger nails. They are way too long; and stop the nonsense with rounding the total. That's the customer's decision.

Best Kung Pao Chicken in town! There are also lunch specials with even more affordable prices, friendly customer service, & plenty of sauces to request with your meal! I really liked the view of the fairgrounds from inside! *TAKEOUT ONLY* at this time! 🥠

I LOVE LOVE this place. They have the BEST chinese food out of any place else. The staff is friendly and it’s always clean. If you haven’t ate there get your money and get up there.

Personally they have the best boneless spare ribs and their rice is always so soft and fresh. Their pizza egg rolls are so good I get them everytime. Their ice tea is perfect as well. Literally the only place in Allentown I order Chinese food from.

Love the food. It's always fresh and they are nice. Went to the location and get delivery all the time, and they are also very clean! Only Chinese I'd order in Allentown.

I am disappointed that I ordered the chicken wings with shrimp fried rice along with $2.00 worth of extra shrimp and only received 5 shrimp! Also my chicken wings were fried with the feathers on them! Last week I ordered shrimp fried rice with 2.00 extra shrimp and had way more shrimp in the rice than the shrimp and broccoli I ordered with it! Stop cheating your customers who pay more for extra by giving less! Not good business practices.

This is very decent Chinese-American food. It's a typical- looking take out joint, some tables for eating in. ) (But not this time). I've had the wonton soup. It had the usual thick-skinned wontons, but the filling was really tasty. The broth was good, no complaints. The shrimp toast was 4 big pieces, and it, too, was tasty. The pork egg foo young was delicious. Also had beef with eggplant with brown sauce . I like garlic sauce but I don't want too much sauce. It was great.

I ordered Lobster Lo Mein and they put at least 10 big lumps of imitation lobster to mix with the 5 or so super tiny pieces of real lobster. It was so disgusting I had to take out each individual pieces of the fake meat just to half enjoy it and feel like I didn't just waste my money. Will definitely not be ordering from the again.

i love new garden their food is delicious and always fresh always hot and the delivery is super super super fast love the prices. i strongly recommend ordering from new garden plus they sre really nice and polite. 5+ stars.

Ordered sm chicken with mixed vegs and steamed rice takeout for dinner this evening. It was pretty good, not great not the best, so I gave it 3 stars. The restaurant cleaner than I've ever seen it and closed to dining in due to coronavirus.

Great food!! Always polite and friendly! Great deals n prices too!! I wish I still lived by them! But it's still my 1st choice to get food from when I do go back home to see my family!

Best Chinese take out in Allentown! Quick, always tasty and the price is right. We've tried all the others near us and time and again they disappoint but not New Garden. It's our "go to" for takeout!

The Chinese food from this place has been good every time we order. We haven't had any issues or problems. The portions are good, it arrives nice and warm. Prices are also on par with other Chinese places around the area. Our faves are the chicken or beef w broccoli and the fried wings with fried rice.

Chicken & Broccoli tastes very good. It's some of the best Chinese we've had around Allentown. BUT they've got bugs! Of course after I've eaten half of it I started looking closely and discovered at least a half dozen bugs before I stopped eating it and just chucked the rest. Mmmmm! I'm sure they were bugs too as they've got antenna, legs, wings. They look similar to fleas. Maybe they just need to do a better job of rinsing their broccoli, but I don't really want to eat bugs with my Chinese, ya know? It kind of ruins the vibe.

I just ordered from there 5/8/17. We got 2 orders of chicken wings with fries, chicken and rice soup,fried dumplings, rib tips with pork fried rice. First let's start by saying the chicken wings were extra crispy like I like them but fries were mushy, I had fried dumplings that had no flavor, looked burnt on one side and not fried on the other side. The chicken and rice soup had and I counted 3 pieces of chicken at the top and a bowl full of rice, I had to load it down with soy sauce to give it flavor. The rib tips were burnt and had absolutely no sauce on them and chopped so little and they only gave about 8 small pieces. The rice tasted as if it was sitting around and we order around 12 pm. They open at 11 so there is no reason why I should have got old rice. I will not be ordering from there again.

Good food at a good price. It's just a small fairly traditional American Chinese restaurant. The service was pleasant. The food was hot and everything tasted as I expected it to. We will definitely be coming here in the future.

Good place to come to for good Chinese food or for a good meal. Food is always hot and fresh. The place is kept clean. The employees are always friendly, and courteous. The only problem I've come across is it takes a bit for them to get your order ready, and I think they are just slightly pricey. I do enjoy coming here though, and I've never had a problem with bad food, or an incorrect order. I'd definitely recommend it for someone looking for a good Chinese place.

Good first experience. Been shopping for a new Chinese delivery place since mine went downhill. If they pull it off consistently they'll get that last star.

All I have to say is that this is one of the best Chinese spots in Allentown. Highly recommend this place. No matter what I order it's always on point, good dumplings, good lo mein, my son loves their general tso's. Overall good food and good service.

I'd say this place is above average but not outstanding. Veggies were crisp and meat was cooked nicely, but the sauces were not remarkable. In fact, our broccoli and garlic tasted just like the fancy veggies with tofu. So, I have no complaints but no real praise either. The counter service was friendly and the cooking time was quick. The place was clean. They have a wide variety of dishes, including vegetarian. Prices are a little high on some dishes but really low on others (a quart of soup was $2.50). One disappointment was the soup. The egg drop was nothing more than egg in a thin broth and pretty flavorless, so I threw some peas, onions, and rice in there from my other dishes. I wish they had done that when they prepared it! But, the food hit the spot on a cold night when the stove was out. And we enjoyed hot tea while we waited. Will try delivery next time. Maybe other dishes have more personality?

Consistently good eats. Nothing special to look at. Service isn't always great, but one girl who works there will memorize your order and serve you with a smile. Become a regular if you live in the area. You won't regret it. I highly recommend the garlic sauce!

Best Chinese place I've found in Allentown. I started working in Allentown 5 months ago and I've tried 6 different Chinese places. This one is the best and most consistent.

I heard about New Garden from a friend about a year ago. I went there one time and knew I found my new Chinese restaurant. All their dish have a very hearty flavor. They do not skimp on the meat in a dish. They are very polite and always give me a free 2 liter pepsi with my order. I have written off my old Chinese restaurant for New Garden. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good Chinese meal.

Visited for the first time last week for takeout. Ordered the Szechuan Chicken combo with fried rice and egg roll. Requested it to be cooked extra spicy. Order was prepared in a timely fashion. Got it home, dumped it on a plate and it was 75% fried rice, which was good but expected a little more chicken & vegetables. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they misunderstood me when I ordered extra spicy because there was nothing spicy about it at all. Chicken & veggies were cooked well, but the taste was bland. Egg roll was crispy and very good. Will give them a second try at some point because my favorite Chinese place appears to be under new management and isn't as good as it was. Nothing to rave about. Nothing to be overly critical about. That makes it 3 stars in my opinion.

Ok, let me begin by saying this has been my go-to Chinese place for years. The food used to be awesome. In the past 2 years or so, I've noticed a steady decline in awesomeness. Recently, the egg rolls are always SOAKED with oil, letting you know the oil is old, old, old. The amount of veggies in the dishes has greatly diminished. Often, delivery food has been lukewarm, so I started picking up (I live about 2-3 blocks away, soooo???)....and the prices continue to go up. I think they're getting greedy, LoL. I notice they all drive nice new cars, though (this is a family run & operated place)! Within the past year or so, I've experienced a number of screw-ups on their part, missing sauces, missing food, etc. I'm always nice about it & I haven't b*tched. Tonite was the final straw for me, I placed an order for shrimp & broccoli in garlic sauce (in my opinion, NEVER spicy enough, even when I ask them to make it burn-same with the General Tso's). They made me chicken & broccoli. Now, usually I'm pretty understanding, but tonite I really wanted shrimp & didn't want to wait for the food to be remade (they did offer). The Fair is going & I just wanted to get out of there! I said, "Give me a 2$ discount since it was your mistake & we'll call it a day, I order from you all the time.", I was told NO, that's too large of a discount. Now, I don't think a 2$ discount on a 17$ order is a big whoop, especially since it was their mistake. Also, the chicken dish costs a dollar less, so it really would've been 1$ off. I ordered from them at least 2x a month, after tonite, never again. If that is how they treat a good customer....well, you know the rest! I'll drive out of my way to a place where they genuinely value your business.

Good food. My husband's curry chicken smelled awesome, but the lobster lo mein I had tasted a little blah. They're very generous with the meat, though. Most places give more veggies than anything. Lady at the front counter was very nice too.

Never disappointed and it's always fresh. Their lo mien is great and their general tso has a really good flavor...along with the fried rice.

Awesome fresh chinese, the best in the area, hands down. The woman at the front counter always has a smile and remembers my order.
