I visited New Holland Brewpub last Sunday night and I have a big fan of their Dragon's Milk as I am a huge stout guy. The brewpub has a great location in downtown Holland. The vibe is contemporary and it's is a very nice brewery with lots of seating inside with TVs at the bar. They also have an outdoor beer garden, but it wasn't open as it's in the middle of winter. I arrived around 6:30pm and they had trivia going on. They had a ton of food options with a big menu. Also, I didn't realize that they made their own liquor as well so they had quite a cocktail menu.
I ordered a 5oz of Dragon's Milk and Dragon's Milk Crimson Keep each. Both beers were awesome and they were $3.50/each. I ordered the Pepperoni Pinwheels, which were awesome, and I had to do a pizza review so I ordered a medium margherita pizza. The pinwheels were unique and the dough was extremely fresh. There was a lot of pepperoni and melted mozzarella sprinkled with parmesan. The sauces were very good as well! However, the pizza was a different story. The mozzarella cheese was solid and probably the best part as it had decent flavor. The pizza was overly dry as it probably sat under the lamp too long. You can even see that the basil was somewhat black/burnt. The crust was pretty flavorless due to it being overcooked slightly. I did not like the cherry tomatoes as they are always mushy when cooked on a pizza. Overall, the pizza was not good and it was a bad night for the pizza-makers.
Crust: 3

Overall: 3.5
Prices were extremely good to me as the cost of living in Holland is much lower than Chicago. $15/medium pizza, $14/app, and $7/pints. The bartenders were friendly and the food came out fast. Overall, I am a fan of New Holland Brewery as they had solid food, great beer, and a great vibe. The pizza could have been way better, but that's ok and I am sure their other dishes are better as the Pepperoni Pinwheels were great!
