Updates on new food below: I believe most people that are complaining about this place just complain to complain. This place is by far the best place to get fast food chinese. This is the (Sweet & Sour Chicken Plate) it's a regular plate in the picture that you get from other restraunts. Most of their stuff has actual flavor, especially the Lomain. Some of these other restraunts have some bland food and this is my top pick every time for fast food chinese. (Chicken Mei Fun & Honey Chicken.) Honestly, both are a great dish. The Mei Fun is a meal for an average individual with leftovers. The Honey Chicken, on the other hand, gave a sweet taste along with the Mei Fun. Both had good size Chicken bites. Be sure to stir the Mei Fun before eating and ask for sweet and sour sauce, extra soy sauce as well. (Singapore Mei Fun, Orange Chicken & Taro Creamy Tea Latte.) The drinks are new and very good. The Singaport Mei Fun has a slight spicey taste, but once it's cooled down, the spices cool down as well. I did add a side of dumpling sauce in it for a mild sweet taste along with the red meat being sweet as well. This is definitely a good plate. I would add extra red meat and shrimp along with the dumpling sauce and then stir really well. The orange chicken is nice as well witha lott of sauce. Be sure to flip before eating because the sauce is in the bottom. ^^^Update on the Singapore Mei Fun ^^^ Extra pork 10/10 remember extra shrimp or chicken by themselves will be 2 completely different flavors. This one is by far my favorite plate here with a side of dumpling sauce. .

The food in this restaurant is very fresh and cooked to order, worth the wait, they have very nice drinks and desserts, must try, the dining environment is also very beautiful, I will come back ag

Google
This place is fantastic. It’s one of the only places now that has mei fun in corpus. I love the portions, the service is always amazing. It’s a little spot tucked away just past Rudy’s but they won’t disappoint. Their drinks are sooo good too. Recommend the mango latte 10/10

Google
I had the house special fried rice and 1 egg roll. The rice had large shrimp and roast pork, which was a little sweet and small pieces , but very tasty . The peas and carrots were very good, as were the large pieces of chicken. I loved the egg it was very good. It was a tiny bit greasy, and I did have to add soy sauce and some Sriracha, but overall, I would go back and maybe just have the chicken fried rice. My husband had the special house soup , and he said it was tasty. I also had an egg roll , hot and crisp. It was pleasant and quiet in the dining room. We went about 1:30 on a week day.

We came to this restaurant around 6yrs ago, The food was excellent. We returned to try it out again, they remodeled the inside, looks great and they didn't disappoint, the food was excellent again. I really enjoyed leaving the establishment satisfied. Will return next time we're in town.

That one fnaf lover._.

Google
I have always loved the shrimp fried rice and mochi. Now they have new beverages. We got classic lemonade and lemon green tea. I can no longer have dairy or else I would have gotten all the mochi and milk tea. They have strawberry ,mango, and chocolate mochi.

Google

Google
first time there with a friend for lunch. very flavorful. right amount of food: not too little, not too much. friend said the sriracha was nice and spicy. quite a variety of dishes to choose from. would go again. highly recommend.

Yelp
Oh dear, the food here is not very good. Unfortunately, the lo mein was bland and soupy. My hunan chicken also did not taste like much. Both dishes were very oily and hard to eat. I did order these to go and took them home. The prices here are fair and portions are good. Food quality did not live up to what I was hoping for.

Yelp
i had sesame chicken. didn't know what to expect. i like the chicken, but next time i will order with sauce on the side as dip. the wonton soup was light. you can ask for more wonton with nominal additional cost.

Julie S.

Yelp
There was a baby roach in my sesame chicken. The mgr still has not refunded my money. The worst experience I have ever had in my life.

Yelp
A random on the menu - "chicken curry with onion" is what I ordered instead of the same old sweet and sour, and is was VERY very good. Like a stir fry, chicken was not battered and I prefer just chicken over battered chicken. About medium spicy by default (they didn't ask how spicy) and not too bad but still a curry. Not just onions but green peppers, carrots, and snap peas. Normally I skip the snap peas but with the sauce they were really good and I ate them all right off the top like an appetizer. Speaking of appetizers unfortunately they murdered the fried wontons and they were in my opinion way overdone and way too hard. I tried a few including leaving them sit out in sweet and sour to soften them up but threw out more than half the order. So check your deep fried items. But the chicken curry with onion is a winner.

Yelp
Well. Here it goes. The shrimp fried rice was very good. $9. Had plenty of shrimp and was about the average size portion. It tasted very good. Next I unexpectedly ordered the hibachi steak and shrimp by suggestion. The cashier was very sure I needed it. It was good, a little pricey but no harm no foul. The place is a little sparse but the folks try really hard. I will return because of the service and I appreciate the local business aspect of it. Enjoy.

Yelp
First time eating here on Sunday. Ordered to go three sweet and sour chicken , one chicken and broccoli. The chicken portions were huge but we believe they were not fully cooked through as multiple people in my family got sick later that night. The Chicken and Broccoli I ordered were not edible and tasted old with sauce covering slimy chicken. Hopefully the company reads this to do better. Personally, I do not recommend.

Yelp
The egg roll I had tasted good but the sweet and sour chicken is very dry without the sweet and sorry we're not going to deliver that with the rest of your $40 takeout even if you ask.
google avatar

Alissa G.

Yelp
I ordered delivery here online and everything looked very appetizing. The website was easy to navigate and order from. The delivery worker got here so fast with our food. The food itself was very bland. The egg drop with wontons was also bland. My fried rice tasted like white rice. I also ordered the shrimp with vegetables and it was a little better because of the brown sauce but the shrimp tasted overcooked and unpleasant. It was definitely not worth the cost.

Yelp
It's like a John pinnett joke where you want more, and I want more. Good and serves right to have 3.5 stars, (trust the 3.5 stars, it's worth it) service is as equal to the star rating, they work on the food better then the service, and the place is.....neat, has box's in places and the restroom is a supply closet. Definitely coming back for more lomine

Joshua M.

Yelp
10/10. Honestly some of the best Asian fast food in town. Boxes are always filled and HOT. BEST MOCHI in Texas. Full stop.
google avatar

Fred B.

Yelp
The food is very good, but the prices are too high. The a/c needs replacement. It's just too hot.
google avatar

Chippy O.

Yelp
The employee at this place just called me crazy and hung up on me because she forgot to give me my eggroll and soup. Food is OK but I'm not going back.

Yelp
This is my go to Asian restaurant in town. After spending many years in NYC, I got spoiled with some of the best food around. In Corpus, things seem so inconsistent and the restaurant you lived last week will serve up crap this week. However, this place is consistently good and has a great menu of items that you won't find elsewhere (or at least not at the same place). They also do their vegetables right and don't cook them to a soggy, sloppy death. Some of my favorite menu items: fried wontons, boneless spare ribs, chicken and broccoli, Sesame chicken, General Tso's, and Mongolian Beef. I am a creature of habit and usually order the same thing but I would not hesitate to expand since everything I have tried is good. Also, the people that work here are really nice and the best is that it is a drive-thru. Only thing I would change is the location. It is on the feeder of SPID between Airline and Nile so you have to go around the world to get there, but it is not horrible and, obviously, it is not stopping me!

Yelp
Food NOT good! Some of the staff are really RUDE, especially to elderly people! I witnessed someone trying to order and the person kept rolling their eyes and rushing the elderly guy! It was sad to see, so I turned around and left! Way better places to try than here! And they over charged my friend when he went! Definitely DON'T recommend!!!!!!!

Yelp
The parking and the entrance are really odd. My meal did take awhile but I enjoyed it a lot when it finally came out. My boyfriends meal was quick and he loved everything. We spent $5 on two mochi for desert afterward. Sounds overpriced thinking back but at the time, we had no complaints. Wholeheartedly, the only reason we don't go all the time is because we work nights and are asleep not too long after it opens. I definitely recommend and wish our time frames aligned more

Yelp
Me and my husband had went a couple of weeks ago we hadn't been here in a couple of months so expected it to be the same amazing food ordered our usual sweet sour chicken and orange chicken my husband takes a dive into the orange chicken and tasted it and the taste was disgusting the chicken was rotten I will never go back sucks cuz this was my favorite place

Yelp
Thought about trying this place every time I drove by, thankfully I finally did. First time I ate here I dined in which I don't recommend. They have four or five tables and no real wait staff. But the food is some of the best in town if your hungry for Chinese. I've been back once or twice per week, picking it up from the drive through. It's very convenient to call it in and pick it up with no wait time. They also deliver. I have not been dissatisfied with anything and in fact it's better than most Chinese places in the city. Most recently I tried the Orange chicken which was delicious, it even had small pieces of orange peel in the sauce which was a great touch. Also they have the best fried rice in town and a great selection of dishes. Give this place a try.

Yelp
This was really good Chinese takeout. I had the Hunan Beef and my wife had the Beef fried rice. It was fresh and tasty. I prefer a lot more spice so I'll ask for that next time. I will be back.

Yelp
This is some good Chinese food. The hot and sour soup is second to none. I highly recommend you to try it out.

Yelp
Good service, however the only good about new Hong Kong express is the entrees. Pretty good prices if you go to lunch-$6.95 for a large meal during midday hours. The wonton soup was..ok..the wontons just didn't taste fresh and maybe tasted a little frost bitten. The egg drop soup was good to my boyfriends liking and the crab Rangoons were alright. The fried outer coating was delicious but the filling was more cream cheese than crab by a landslide. The entrees were where it was at. I tried the orange chicken and my boyfriend had the sesame chicken. Both were delicious but the orange chicken was the bomb. A little spicy, a little tangy, and even had orange peels sprinkled on top. Will probably come back here and just have the entrees. Good prices

Yelp
Best Chinese food I've ever had. Not just amazing food but amazing people. Me and my fiancé come here regularly and they always recognize us and ask how we're doing. Great food and great business. Highly recommend their honey chicken and house special fried rice!!!

Bonnie B.

Yelp
Ate here for the first time using Favor delivery and we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a lot of food because we wanted to try several things and also have leftovers. We got Hunan Chicken, House Fried Rice, House Lo Mein, Pork Wontons, Crab Rangoons, eggrolls and rock shrimp. First I have to say the packaging of our food was really good. They stacked some items in both bags and placed a layer of cardboard between layers which was really nice. Every single item we ordered was there, even the extra sauces we requested. It's sad but true that a restaurant gets extra points for this because more times than not something is missing from an order these days. There was a tiny bit of leakage from one of the plastic containers but not a ton and it didn't get on the other items. The Hunan chicken was very good. Lots of delicious veggies and it was spicy but not too little and not too much. The chicken was super tender and plentiful. The House Fried Rice was delicious and filled with shrimp, chicken and super tender strips of pork. The House Lomein was made with thick noodles and plenty of shrimp, pork and chicken with strips of onion and green onion. The pork won tons were one of the low spots of the meal. They were either overcooked or had been sitting out because they were rock hard. The crab rangoons were good - not great but definitely not the worst I've ever had. The egg rolls were delicious - crispy and good sized and filled with deliciousness. The rock shrimp were a definite disappointment. They were small, tough and most likely frozen shrimp which for $8.95 for an appetizer is not good. To sum up, the entrees seem like winners to me. The egg rolls are great but I'd steer away from the wontons and the rock shrimp. I'd also add that we did not get any utensils with our order which was fine because we were eating at home but had we been ordering from a hotel it would not be good. Also, the portion sizes are HUGE. My Lo Mein alone probably weighed 2 or 3 pounds. We both have big appetites and we had enough food left over for us both to eat at least 2 more times. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and will order from here again to try other things as well.

Yelp
Not sure what's new about this place. Food kinda tastes like the old Hong Kong Express. The only thing new is that the prices are more expensive. Golen Crown gives you way bigger portions for a cheaper price. Fried rice was awful, hot and sour soup was bland. General Tso's chicken was ok. Way better places though. Probably won't be going back.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
We ordered to go and when we got our meals they totally just left out one whole meal. The other food we got was so over done. We couldn't even eat the wontons. And when we called the place to see what happened with the order they said "oh yeah sorry. What do you want to do about it." Instead of being polite and ask to send a new one. We will never eat here again. Terrible service.

Anita M.

Yelp
I love the food here. I have enjoyed everything I've ordered from here. It's all really good. My favorite is probably the orange beef. They have delicious mochi too. Reasonable prices. It's not super-fast, but it's well worth the wait.

Aliyah W.

Yelp
I called for a pick up order and they had it ready in 15 minutes. The service was great! The food was amazing! They packed the food perfectly and gave great size portions. I would 100% recommend this small business to anyone looking for a great takeout Chinese place or even dine in!
google avatar

Desiree E.

Yelp
The tofu I ordered wasn't very good. It was soggy and not very flavorful. But the fried rice was good.

Katherine S.

Yelp
The food and service there is amazing! The management has been changed, but the previous chef is still there along with a new one. The menu has been expanded tremendously. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves authentic/American Chinese food or even just someone who would like a snack. This place is great for family meals and they also do delivery(which is always a big plus). Kids won't be a problem either, they have plenty of high chairs available. The employees were extremely friendly. I even got samples to try! The food were fresh and hot like I like them, everything was amazing!

Stephanie F.

Yelp
I went here little over a week ago expecting to see Hong Kong Express but was surprised to see different owners. I did order my usual orange chicken with white meat, steamed rice and 1 eggroll. My meal was still delicious except I thought the eggroll had a different flavor than i am used to. I do know it was freshly made, but I didn't care for the taste. Other than that every thing was great. People at counter were very friendly. I'll definitely be back to try something new minus the eggroll.

R. G.

Yelp
The food here is SOO good! and the service is great. All the food I ordered tasted fresh and portion size was good as well. I've even tried their delivery service and the food arrived by it's estimated time. I also loved how they decorated the place, very creative. I would definitely come back again to try more!!!

Mary Ellen V.

Yelp
We ordered black pepper chicken, moo goo gai pan, and the crab bisque. Everything was fantastic! The portions are mega-large, so we were able to heat it up for lunch the next day. Heated up the next day: still fantastic flavors! Very, very good food and prices. We picked up our food and the staff is so friendly and courteous. Something that is sorely lacking these days! The facility is very clean which is also a BIG plus here is Corpus Christi. This is the 4th time we have ordered at New Hong Kong Express and have yet to be disappointed. We now order something different once a week!
