I ordered the cashew chicken. The chicken texture and taste was either very old or WAY over cooked. I'll stick with the best Chinese carryout when they're open. This place seems to let me down every time. I use to think they were great.

Google
I have had 2 orders in the last month and loved them. The pork fried rice is very good. It's like the fried rice I was taught to make, only easier, as someone else is making it! I loved talking to the chef with my last order, and he listened to my concerns about food allergies, which he will try to accommodate the next time I place an order. It's nice when a restaurant listens to its customers and is willing to work with them! A thumbs 👍🏽 up to the chef!

Have ordered from here before and the food was good for the money. Ordered the hibachi chicken tonight and it was awful. Tasted like they attempted to boil it along with some veggies and then forgot to grill it. I received a tray of tasteless, wiggly chicken floating in tasteless, watery broth with slimy veggies. Big waste of money. Nothing to fall back on, planned on sharing the meal. Good thing we ordered soup. They didn't even give us fortune cookies.

Google
The former owners made much better food! I gave New Hong Kong one last chance since ownership changed, because they added hibachi to their menu. I've had hibachi many times, and it's never been served in so much sauce, it was like a soup. We will not be ordering takeout from them again. So disappointed to need to find a new Chinese takeout place, after enjoying their food for a decade. Two stars only because they're quick.

Google
They are ABSOLUTELY the best take out in Fort Wayne. Prices are decent. Inside the place leaves a lot to be desired. But usually no one is there eating. But always someone else is picking up food. Make sure that you tip them too. They work hard.

Google
Great food for the money! Rarely have to wait longer than 30 minutes for carry out. I’m not a huge fan of the dine in atmosphere, but we usually do take out anyway. They have really good pot stickers and egg rolls!

Google
This is a great place to eat at. Everyone at the restaurant is kind. One of the chefs was experimenting with new dishes when I first walked in late tonight (it was like a fried sweet potato patty) and since I didn't know what to order, I said that I would like what he was making. Surprisingly, he gave me a small sample. It was delicious. I love the food here. They do an awesome job when even the experimental dishes are great. I am glad I discovered this gem.

Google
We used to eat here quite often but it’s just not the same anymore. Just recently ordered a couple of shrimp lo mein dishes and the noodles tasted days old, not fresh at all. Very disappointed that I wasted $40

Yelp
My husband and I ordered from there for several years, and we're always happy. We tried three times after the business was sold. It was cold, the sauces were disgustingly thick. I saw they added hibachi items to their menu. I've had hibachi several times. This wasn't hibachi. The chicken was undercooked and in a weird white sauce. It was a complete disappointment.

Yelp
The food was barely average. The fried rice tasted like styrofoam. The crab Rangoon felt as if it were made hours before. The inside is very outdated, it definitely needs a remodel. When I went in it felt as if I was the only customer they had had in a very long time.
google avatar

Ilda M.

Yelp
The fried dumplings were in a pool of grease, the inside was dull gray and had 0 flavor. The entrees were not very "large" and also bland. I wouldn't waste your money here. Over-priced, under seasoned food

Yelp
Food is pretty good, employees super friendly, they take pride in their work. Service is good & wait times are minimal.

Yelp
Ordered house special fried rice and house special lo mein, but ended up getting their basic pork fried rice with three pieces of shrimp. Tons of stuff missing from the fried rice like green onions, carrots, egg whites, bean sprouts, peas, etc. Lo mein was also extremely oily (even for Chinese food) and tastes like day old stuff. No thanks

Yelp
Best sesame chicken in Fort Wayne! The lo mein is really good too! Put them together and yum yum!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place when I drove by and seeing how I love love soup I had to buy some. Plenty of parking with easy access from the main road. Parking lot is in great condition as well. Walking in staff immediately says hello. Then i notice the spacious dining room with 10 booths inside! That's large for a Chinese spot such as this. Very clean tables fully stocked with all the condiments, napkin dispensers and salt and pepper. That's is awesome!! There is a bathroom as well as a drink cooler and hot tea stand that also has utensils! Walk up counter to order with a stack of to go menus. The menu has their lunch specials along with the other usual findings. What I first notice is how inexpensive they are. Wow!! Then when I make my decision I notice staff still very friendly even though they are busy with making other to go orders they smile and say "be right with you!" Love that. Although there was a slight language barrier meaning English is understood very little with staff my order was Perfect and my question as to "is the hot and sour soup very spicy?" With a puzzled look then re asking and back and forth until finally she says "no, not to spicy'" was spot on. The hot and sour soup was loaded with slivered veggies and sheets of egg that held together while you stirred the dark thick red flaked liquid. Served piping hot. While I couldn't see but one small square of tofu I wasn't missing it when it was so flavorful and she was right not overly spicy but spicy enough to keep me sipping and my nose dripping! The egg drop soup was just as wonderful. Served so hot I had to sip each spoonful and so full of yet again those thin sheets of egg in a deep rich thick broth that had a wonderful egg flavor. I barely needed soy sauce as each spoonful leaded to another one. My chicken lo mein meal was just as hot. Served with pork fries rice a a huge fat egg roll. It was also so hot I had to wait 5' to take a bite and it was worth it. Crunchy and filled with a pork veggie center. No need for soy sauce either. The lo mein noodles were dark in sauce and so thick and long that one noodle wrapped around your fork all the way and filled it. It was crammed with strips of tasty chicken and veggies. Between the rice, soups and middles I didn't know what to eat! My tastebuds were on overload. Highly recommend this place. I wish I lived closer but I know each time I drive by I am stopping for food!!

Yelp
Ordered here once quite a bit in the past and asked for my food to be spicy. It was mild+ at best. I was really disappointed. Tonight I went there and there was a different person at the counter, and I asked if they could make it spicy, and I explained to them that I REALLY do like my food spicy. Well, not only was the guy really cool, but they did actually make my food spicy! I was trying to find somewhere to leave a review right away and say this, because spicy food is so hard to find in fort wayne...

Yelp
Just picked up chicken chow mein. Supposed to come with hard noodles, fried rice and egg roll. Never got the hard noodles and there was more onions than vegetables. Very disappointing.....I tried several weeks ago another dinner and it was even worse. I don't know who is running it now but it's not nearly as good! Think twice about ordering here!

Yelp
Very good take out at a good price. They have always gotten our orders right. One thing to get if you haven't is the sugar donuts! They are so good and I think like $3 for 12! I am a fan of sweet and sour chicken and have no issues with this place!

Aaron D.

Yelp
The black pepper chicken is our favorite! The food is always ready quickly and the staff are friendly.

Yelp
I am new to the area. Was looking for food hopefully Chinese that was open after 10pm on Friday. I found New Hong Kong. About 4 miles from Parkview Regional Hospital. I was greeted with a smile. Food prepared quickly. I was on my way in under 10 minutes. The Garlic chicken plentiful slightly spicy, with chrisp vegetable. I enjoyed my meal very much and will return

Yelp
Large proportions and great flavor ! We loved the chicken lo mein and egg drop ! We shared that with our kids. Seriously soooo much food

Yelp

Yelp
I always love Chinese food but ever since my favorite restaurant closed down I've been iffy on where to try next . This place has been my go to ever since . I only do carry out even though they have a dine area . The customer service is mainly good .. they have their off days too though ( who doesn't ) . My favorite food to get from here is the crab Rangoon which is the triangle shape ( love love love) , hot and sour soup , chicken lo mein. All which is ready at a decent time from ordering to pick up . They only messed my order up once but was very quick to fix it . So needless to say this is my go to Chinese place. Update:Haven't been there over 6 months . The last time I been there I received poor customer service . I'm the type of person if I'm supporting your business I would at least like to hear a THANK YOU in a return or some type of appreciation . I always say thank you and let them know I really appreciate it because I know they dang near work everyday around the clock . I get it we all have our off days but what I want settle for is poor customer service majority of the times of me going there . I don't like being treated as they are doing me a favor because honestly there is plenty of other Chinese restaurants in this area that i can simply go to. Their food quality has gone down hill since I had them as well. Now I just go to a Chinese restaurant off state . At least they show appreciation and say thank you back. Plus their food is delicious. A simple THANK YOU goes a long way !

Yelp
Had a craving for chicken fried rice. The chicken fried rice is yellow rice with few onions and chicken. I've made better fried rice at home that includes egg, peas, carrots, etc.... I'm so upset especially since I'm pregnant and was having a craving. Fiancé says his chicken curry is 2/5, not spicy like he was hoping. He says the dumplings are alright except only one side is fried.

Yelp
The prices were reasonable and service was quick. The staff was kind. It looked to be family owned (which is common). I've never stayed to eat, (always takeout) but the atmosphere seems cold. I'm always looking for more flavor and kick in Asian dishes - maybe I need to explore more of the menu. However, it is good enough that I've stopped in for takeout multiple times.

Yelp
Fast & friendly. Food is consistently delicious & huge portions. Dining room is clean. When I want Chinese food, this is my go to. They deliver too.

Yelp
Love this place. The food is good and the prices reasonable. They are very fast and courteous.

Yelp
This food is mediocre at best. I can make better fried rice. Their fried rice is just yellow rice with maybe two pieces of onion and five pieces of thin chicken. This is about $6-$8 dollars. For yellow rice with barely anything in it? What? The sad part is their dumplings are amazing and they are generous with the portion on this entree. However, it is also about the same price as the fried rice? What? The only perk is that it is SUPER quick.

Yelp
Kung Pao Chicken was very good!!! Staff was friendly service was very fast! Appeared clean but dining area is dated. Packaged well for to go orders!

Yelp

Yelp
Its okay but its not the best, vegetable rice was bland and they don't offer knifes for big pieces of food.

Jan B.

Yelp
Love this restaurant egg rolls delicious. New to Fort Wayne and this is my go for Chinese

Yelp
We had Won Ton Soup, Steamed Dumplings, and Chicken with Broccoli. It was close to typical takeout, but a little better than usual. It took them quite some time to make it, but maybe that suggests a little more love 'n care, and perhaps freshness.

Krista M.

Yelp
Excellent food at outstanding prices! Love the wonton soup & shrimp lo mein. Orders are always still hot when we get them home too!

Daryl Lynn C.

Yelp
Just tried this place for the first time since moving to Fort Wayne. Husband and I thought we'd get the Poo poo platter as it was just the two of us and and it would offer a little bit of each. We also ordered a large serving of beef lo-main and crab Rangoon. Because we ordered they Grubhub, I knew there would be a fee, which is fine. Our order came to $42 something and boy was I shocked when I got my order! First of all, a poo poo platter (to me anyway) usually has spareribs, chicken wings. Teriyaki beef and typically a shrimp. And typically when ordering a platter for 2 it comes with 2-4 items of each. Haha!!! What a joke! All I got was fish items! Oh, and 2 pieces of what I think pork. The items were, 2 battered shrimp, 2 battered (or fried) pieces of imitation crab, 2 crab like cake triangles, and crab Rangoon. Oh, I also got 2 egg rolls. Thank God I ordered a large beef lo-main as my husband can't eat fish and hates egg rolls. The crab Rangoon was not crispy, rather chewy. Not at all worth it. I would recommend going elsewhere.

Yelp
Exeedlingly poor quality. Avoid. Barf zone. The "fried rice" was not fried at all. Yellow coloring with an abysmal sprinkling of frozen vegetables. Just garbage.
google avatar

Marlies Z.

Yelp
Get the sesame chicken special combination plate!! This is a great place for quick take out.

Yelp
I gave it one star to post the review. When I say I don't know what I just ate, I have absolutely NO CLUE. I had orange chicken, pork rice and egg drop soup. Now, we all have heard that the Asian cuisine doesn't serve real meat (I know people who even call it rat and cat) but today's meal absolutely confirmed it. I hate to be gross, but when I vomited, all the 'meat' sank to the bottom and the rest of the stuff floated. The rice I'd give a 4/10, The sauce was okay. The price was too good to be true. It's so cheap but my theory is because of what they are serving, the prices are cheap. I literally stopped while eating my good and asked myself "what are you eating" The people were so nice, polite and the place was VERY clean and I really wanted to love it but the food just ruined it.
google avatar

Robin M.

Yelp
Food was Ok, ambience left something to be desired. Had General Tso chicken it tasted more like honey BBQ . Large portions but probably will try somewhere new next time out
google avatar

Caroline G.

Yelp
Great food I love the sweet and sour chicken with the white rice and fried rice as well I wish they delivered although the timing for them to make the food is amazing

Deanna S.

Yelp
The best chinese i have had since i moved here from long island New York.
google avatar

Ben R.

Yelp
The best food comes from the mom and pop, hole in the wall restaurants. New Hong Kong is no exception, and while the restaurant itself is not much to look at, all the effort is clearly put into the food. If you're craving Chinese on the north side of the Fort, this is the best place to get your chow (or chow mein) on! The food is as plentiful as it is inexpensive, plus they're open 'til 10pm, so it's a favorite among IPFW students and those searching for a late dinner alike.

Nichole S.

Yelp
I had no issues with the food or the quality.. the only thing I had a problem with was they had approx. an 8-11 year old child working the register. I am almost certain she was under 13 which I think is the legal age for family owned businesses? Regardless of her age I felt it was unprofessional.
google avatar

Ross D.

Yelp
Great food, reasonably priced, and the staff are wonderful! Only place in Fort Wayne I get Chinese carry-out. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Amy R.

Yelp
We only get our take out Chinese from New Hong Kong. The Orange Chicken is really good! The Egg Foo Young is really full of vegetables and meat. The gravy could be better. Overall, we've had nothing but good food and the price is great too.

Cathy J.

Yelp
Typical hole in the wall restaurant. Dining area is nothing fancy. Sweet staff. Delicious food. Heads up everything is on disposable plates with disposable utensils.

Brittany L.

Yelp
We eat at new Hong Kong a few times a month. Everything is always consistent and very good! The staff is always friendly and welcoming.
