How Two Fine Dining Restaurants Were Reshaped By COVID-19 - Eater
"The Grocery is the only reason the Shack survived the stretch between October and March, according to Boden. Its goods are not as affordable as grocery-chain versions — organic Appalachian pink-eyed peas; collard greens kimchi and sorghum butter; the pandemic necessities of Virginia-brewed beer and ciders — but they allowed him to engage more closely with customers who came into the store, to talk about where and who he buys from and how it matters to local supply chains and agriculture." - Sara Sheridan
Awesome place to grab a bite! Friendly folk running the till and grill, making everything fresh in-house. We had a pickled egg salad sandwich and a breakfast burrito. Both were really good! Gonna go back and try a few more items off the menu. Look em up and go give them a try!

New Hope Grocery reminds me of the good ole days. Places like this are rare and I'm so glad they're still around.
We like to stop after the ball games for a fun lunch. The food is great and I love their sandwiches.

Convenient, friendly, outstanding country store. Our official break room for a fast lunch. Farm fresh eggs and the best breakfast between the Middle & South Rivers!

Stopped by earlier this morning on my way to work. The folks inside were so nice and pleasant and down home. It's kinda like stepping back in time. The food was smelling great. The guy talked me into a sausage/egg/cheese sandwich on toast. It was definitely on point. Definitely going to stop in and check more of their breakfast because I LOVE breakfast 😋 🤗

You can't beat a country store. I used to stop in every week many years ago. I have moved so not around the area often. I was driving by and stopped to check it out after all these years. Many improvements. Food counter looks great. I was too late for food. Was just after 7. Not only Budweiser in the cooler. Picked out a six of some good craft beer and a few others drinks. Root beers etc. They still have one gas pump that I believe is 87 no ethanol. Will stop any time I get out to New Hope area. Thanks to who kept this place alive. Put a smile on my face to see it's still going.

This place was found by accident and we were rushed to find our way back to the interstate I wished we could have set down and ate at their little diner inside! The food smelled amazing as I bet it was & we were greeted friendly with a can I get you some breakfast or lunch? Maybe next trip we'll go out of our way to just do that! I'd stop again & drive the extra 5 miles for a quaint little station reminiscent of days gone by!
