Popeyes Founder’s Cheesecake Bistro Has Closed | Eater New Orleans

"Renovated by Al Copeland in the late 1990s (he said he’d never read Ann Rice’s book before that) into Straya, the space became a garish, peach-colored restaurant flanked by golden panthers with rhinestone-studded collars that sold sushi and California cuisine. I found that Ann Rice publicly denounced the building as a "monstrosity," and the two traded thousands of dollars’ worth of full-page ads in the Times-Picayune and even faced a libel suit, making the building notorious; by 2001 Copeland had closed Straya and replaced it with Cheesecake Bistro (sans golden panthers)." - Stephanie Carter

My wife won a drawing to visit New Orleans. It was a pleasant visit to your city and the people handling our visit could not have been nicer or more helpful. Not sure of the lady's name but the gentleman was Jeremy. We had a great time and hopefully will visit again. The food hotel was great. The food was amazing. The fried chicken festival on the Lake was well worth the visit. Jeremy made sure we were VIP and we were treated as such. Thanks you again for a wonderful time. Dennis

Hey, Mitch, next Katrina I'm staying home and watching on tv. (We made SIX trips with food, water and clothing last time) Maybe you can get your antifa friends to help you out. I would suggest you get the snowflakes, too, but we all know they will be in their "safe places", crying.

Dear New Orleans- I am in love with your city! Thank you for the hospitality, food, friends, and drinks! No need to go to Vegas, go to the Big Easy where fun is around every corner. A wonderful melting pot of French, African and Spanish cultures. Visiting the French Quarter is a MUST for anyone living in the USA. This town is over 300 years old, full of history and stories down every street.

Never coming back to new orleans. I go to the booth to ask for a map and some 50 something year old inbred creep starts commenting on my breasts. I tried to leave but he grabbed my wrist and said a jew like myself should watch myself here. Im not even jewish. Ive never felt so afraid. It was broad daylight too.

DONT VISIT! My daughter was mugged in the French Quarter, 3 months ago at 11 pm, but the Mayor works on destroying monuments! We will visit San Antonio next vacation.

I use this as my number one guide for New Orleans. Even though I used to live there, I still use it to keep me up to date on New Orleans especially before any visit.
