Stopped to eat here while on our trip to NOLA. Food was amazing and I’d definitely recommend. For appetizers we got the BBQ shrimp (my favorite) and seafood gumbo. For entrees we got the Cajun jambalaya pasta and the delicious fried chicken with crispy fries. We finished off with bread pudding dessert. We will definitely be back! A must try!

We were walking by and Justin was standing outside inviting people to try the restaurant. We got to talking with him and decided to give it a shot and boy are we glad we did! The Venue is gorgeous indoors and outdoors has a cute bar and beautiful fountain in the center. They have great happy hour deals but the food alone is enough reason to dine here! Justin was very attentive throughout our meal, answered any questions we had, and made fantastic recommendations. The redfish ponchartrain was outstanding and the Po Boy burger had its own unique twist and was also extremely delicious. When in NOLA definitely check out this place and thanks again to Justin for making our dining experience extra wonderful! Side note he also took our picture by the fountain in their outdoor courtyard dining area :)

Google
Great food right in the heart of the Quarter. HUGE portions, even for New Orleans. Friendly service and courtyard seating. Interior seating is limited to 4 tables and a bar with 6-8 stools. The courtyard is much better atmospherically: not too noisy, and while there are many tables, it was good for a fun, date night type dinner.

Google
Joe was fantastic. He was very attentive. He moves around the restaurant quickly and efficiently. He was pure pleasure. And the food was excellent. We had had the Yaya gumbo on the food tour so I had to come back. The red snapper was delicious.

Everything that I ordered was horrible. We had out of town guest with us during our visit from Carolina who wanted authentic creole cuisine, next time I’ll just take them to my house. The lemon drop was way too strong, the chicken pontbla was horrible; the red wine sauce in it was too overpowering and the flavors didn’t mix well. The gumbo ..the gravy was so thick it was almost like an etouffe. The best thing was the fried oysters and our guest enjoyed the banana fosters cheese cake that was deep fried.

We are traveling across America in our Motorhome and review many restaurants as we travel. I would say, as well as my wife and her family who are traveling with us, that this place is overpriced and overrated on food taste, quality, and quantity for the price. We were taken aback by our waitress who told us right from the beginning that we’d all be on one check, 6 of us, because it was policy. I decided to go to the bar, separate from the dining area, and order char broiled oysters that were happy hour prices because when we got seated we were told the happy hour prices didn’t include the dining area. While I was in the bar the waitress came in and spoke to me like I was doing something wrong by ordering there. I figured it out after we got the bill. I could tell she was upset. She wasn’t personal with us and seemed to be put out with us. The jambalaya wasn’t as flavorful in my experience and for $24 the serving size was on the small size. The crab cakes aren’t worth the $40 either. Very bland. Then the bill came. Automatic 20% tip added for service? Are you kidding me. Save your money on this place and go somewhere else that has better food and service.

The ambiance outside was amazing! The food was delicious, with the highlight being the bananas foster bread pudding. Which i didn't get a photo of before diving into it. Prefect date night location.

Google
Great food. The alligator was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My friend was impressed with his crab cake Benedict. I don't know why but as a grits hater I felt inclined to order their grits and was impressed.

Yelp
Vegetarian pasta with red sauce was great! It was pretty spicy but that's a positive thing for me. I paired it with a glass of the Languedoc chardonnay and was a fan. Great for vegetarians that want to experience some of the local flavors/seasonings.

Yelp
Dined on the patio, which was absolutely lovely--great ambiance. Service was attentive and friendly, with great recommendations that helped us navigate the menu. Portion sizes were generous, making it a great value. The seafood stood out--both the crab cakes and fried shrimp were favorites, perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. Everything had that authentic Creole touch.

Yelp
I went to this spot on a food tour. It was an upscale location with a courtyard patio that served classic Cajun-creole dishes. The service was appreciated. We were provided with the gumbo yaya. It was a dark variety of gumbo with chicken and andouille sausage pieces present. This was very tasty with tons of flavors from all the seasonings present. The texture was ideal and there was a slight heat factor, but nothing overwhelming at all. It was a very comforting dish that I wished I were able to have more of. Will I go back? I would.

Yelp
The interior is pretty, sow history but well maintained. Came on a weekday evening and wa able to find parking around the corner on street. Upon entering, greeted by friendly waitress. My kids told her we were celebrating a birthday so she planned on giving me a complimentary dessert but we didn't end up taking it since we just flew in and everyone was tired and ready for the hotel. The foods were ok. Crab cake was not my taste, since I didn't enjoy the cheese initially but my son enjoyed it. Fried pickles were crunchy. Catfish with jambalaya was ok but the pasta was too greasy and I like mine more saucy.

Yelp
Glad I was able to stop by this place. It was well worth it. Down the street from Jackson Square. Ambiance: There two sections for dining. One to have more open seating and the other was more enclosed inmate dining. Service: If you plan to visit, I recommend requesting for Erineesh to be one of your waiters. She provided exceptional service and greeting. Her co-workers were also helpful and provided great service as well. Every knowledgeable about the menu and was willing to assist with any questions or concerns I might have had at my time of dining. Food: I was very impressed with the selection of food and of course the taste of the food. Again, everything was good cooked to order and was willing to modify anything that I wanted on the menu. I enjoyed the portion size and the price of the meal was very reasonable. Overall: I would recommend this place for dinner or lunch. It is in the heart of the French Quarter and it is walking distance from Bourbon Street.

Yelp
New Orleans Creole Cookery is a charming spot in the French Quarter that claims to offer a true taste of Creole cuisine. What We Tried: * Firecracker Shrimp (Starters): These shrimp were incredibly tasty, crispy on the outside with a flavorful, spicy kick that was a perfect start to the meal. * Pasta Orleans: My husband ordered the Pasta Orleans, which featured sautéed shrimp served over fettuccine, spinach, and grape tomatoes in a Creole mushroom sauce. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, but the dish lacked a bit of the bold flavors we expected. * Jambalaya: I opted for the Jambalaya, a Louisiana tradition with chicken and sausage smothered with Cajun spices and rice. While the dish was hearty, it could have used a bit more spice to really bring out the authentic Creole flavor. Atmosphere: The ambiance at New Orleans Creole Cookery is warm and inviting, with a cozy, rustic feel. The dining area is decorated with vintage New Orleans memorabilia, giving it a local, homey vibe. It's a great spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. Service: The service was friendly and attentive. Our server made great recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was laid-back, and the staff made us feel right at home. Overall Thoughts: New Orleans Creole Cookery is a good choice for anyone looking to experience authentic Creole flavors in the heart of the French Quarter. While our entrees lacked a bit of spice, the food was still satisfying, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. This is a solid option, but I'm sure there are better Creole spots in the area. Maybe next time we're visiting and decide to return, we might have a better experience. I say give it a try if it's near you, but don't be afraid to explore other options in the French Quarter as well.

Yelp
Came here expecting seafood boil but what we got was boiled seafood. It was very plain, lacked seasoning and depth. The texture of the corn was terrible, extremely overcooked that it had no sweetness, just mushy. Gator bites were also nothing out of the ordinary. It's just fried gator sausage rather than actual pieces of alligator. This is a good place for large parties, they have room to set up bigger tables.

Amanda O.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing experience! The food was good; the creole pasta was very tasty, and seasoned amazingly! We also had the fried pickles and the crab cake napoleon! I recommend sharing the crab cake since it is very rich, but so delicious!! The drinks were good! We sat inside on our first visit, and came back and sat outside the second time. Our server, Terrill, was super attentive and friendly! He was helpful, funny, and also very knowledgeable about the menu and offered us recommendations. We loved the food and service so much that we came back for my brother's 21st bday. Terrill welcomed us back and took care of us. We also met the general manager, who was very friendly as well. Overall delicious food, amazing service and lovely location.

Yelp
Please ask for Justin !! He was hands down the best part of this place -- made me come back a second time because he was so great! The next time I had Brandon -- he was just as amazing !!! Oysters raw were better than the charbroiled ones in my opinion . The gumbo yaya is chicken and sausage BUT MIX IT WITH THE RED BEANS AND RICE ( Justin was on to something ) Crawfish étouffée was phenomenal! So much crawfish I couldn't believe it Gator bites are a GO with or without the sauce . The bread pudding was a treat from Justin and baby I tipped him for it cuz my god it was heaven on earth . We sat outside the first trip and it was so beautiful. The next night we sat inside but it was freezing in there lol just being a jacket

Yelp
The food was bomb! We had a quite a long wait even with a reservation, but it was Mardi Gras so of course!

Yelp
I haven't reviewed a restaurant in years. Maybe it's because I've been busy. Or because I realize most restaurants are trying their best. But none have risen to the top to have exceptional or an egregiously bad service to compel me to write until now. You see, I booked a reservation for 8 people at New Orleans Creole Cookery the night before the Super Bowl. I knew the city would be crazy, so I figured this would be the only way to insure my team of NFL creatives would get dinner. I booked the reservation for later in the evening, also assuming it might be easier to get in and eat at a later hour. Well, upon arriving, we checked in and they told us they would call us when the table is ready. 25 minutes later and after the time of our reservation, we approached the host to ask for an update. The host pointed to a table behind him that was being cleared. Awesome! 5 minutes later we still weren't seated. It was now 30 minutes after our scheduled reservation. So we approached again and again, the host said the table behind him is ours and it would be 2 more minutes. Well, 2 minutes later, the host called another party and promptly took them to that table. When we approached the host and asked what happened, he said they couldn't find us. Keeping in mind, I was standing 5 ft. from the host the entire 35 minutes we waited for our table. And my colleague is 6ft. 5 and clearly anyone could see him standing there. We told the host that we were going to leave because it was pretty offensive that he would lie to us for why we weren't seated. I completely understand that during that weekend, things were super crazy and busy. I know we all had a level of understanding that it would be slower service than usual. But to lie to patrons who did everything they could to insure they would get dinner at your restaurant was a really bad move. And for that, I felt I needed to leave a review. I don't know if the food is good. It might be! I'll never know. Because that service has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I will never go to this restaurant. New Orleans has way too many great places to eat to have to deal with a host who will ignore you and then lie to your face because he didn't do his job well. Needless to say, we walked up the street and had an amazing dinner by walking into a seafood boil restaurant that not only sat us within 5 minutes but was a joy to be around. They say stars will rise on the biggest stage - and sadly, during the biggest stage of the Super Bowl, New Orleans Creole Cookery fell flat.

Yelp
After a disappointing experience at another restaurant, my significant other and I were frustrated, hungry, and just looking for a place to salvage our night. We stumbled into New Orleans Creole Cookery, and from the moment we walked in, everything changed--thanks to Cherrie. She greeted us immediately with warmth and genuine hospitality. When my boyfriend explained what had just happened to us, she listened patiently, empathized, and took it upon herself to turn our night around. With expert knowledge of the menu, she guided us toward the best choices, making thoughtful recommendations to ensure we had an amazing meal. And wow--she delivered. The hospitality was next level, the kind that sticks with you long after you leave. The food? Incredible. The dessert? Absolutely to die for. We visit Mardi Gras every year, and because of Cherrie, this place is now a must-visit for us. We'll be back--and we'll be telling everyone we know to come here too. It takes a special kind of person to put aside their own day and make magic for others, and Cherrie did just that. Five stars all the way.

Yelp
Good service. Wasn't overly crowded. The blacken red fish was delicious. The green been a were good and the roasted potatoes were a perfect accompaniment. The taste of New Orleans was amazing, but way too much for 1 person. While all four were tasty the favorite was the gumbo. We had the banana foster tini which was an amazing drink/dessert.

Yelp
Just ate here again in November 2024. I went for the Ponchartrain which consisted of Excellent Redfish and crab topping and came with multi-colored potatoes and green beans. You can get it fried w pecan or blackened. They have 2 pound lobsters. Specialty is oysters and std NOLA fare jambalaya gumbo etc. Gumbo was very good in 2017. Didn't get it this time. Caesar salad was huge and very good (only $12). We had the cookery trio as an appetizer (very good). Since we mentioned that we returned they gave us bread putting for free even though we were stuffed! It was awesome. They also have a ghost in the courtyard by the fountain. Thank you to our great servers Ricardo and Dawn.

Yelp
I don't know what was better my waiter & his awesome vibes or my food being hot & tasting so so so good.Don't look at the prices because the food is well worth the penny. I went for the foodies & it was what you want a dining experience to be. My waiter & hostess were so caring & nice. I'll be back for more

Yelp
We had the stuffed avocados to start with a couple of hurricanes! We sat right by the window because it was too hot for the patio - we really enjoyed it. Our dinner was the crawfish and etouffe & chicken/sausage jambalaya. Absolutely delicious - I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it but it was just that good!

Yelp
Kevin is the best server! He was very attentive and made excellent recommendations. The Voodoo juice was the best! The food is so good! I got the Taste of New Orleans so I could have a little of everything New Orleans is known for. OMG! It was so good and there is so much food!
google avatar

Yelp
I got a lot of recommendations to check this place out. And in technicality, the food was great. It was a smidgen more expensive than I would have liked to pay but it was at a nice place. The problem we had was with the service. I was with a group and we got called back for leaving a bar tab. There was no bar tab left unsettled. They asked us to take photos of the receipts they gave us and overall made their mistakes into our problems. Overall we had to be on guard with our banks to make sure they werent charging us more than we owed. Not a great experience.
google avatar

Alexia G.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years. I felt it was time to update the review. We love their oysters both char grilled and raw. Alex really made our experience memorable. He is really professional, kind, genuine, hard worker, hospitable and keeps us coming back. Every year the specials change but the oysters remain consistent. The best memorable years were when big Mike was chucking oysters teaching us the techniques to make it fun but always making us want to come back for special cocktails and food. Thank you! We look forward to future visits and please bring back bloody Mary oyster happy hour!
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
This venue is in a busy area in the French Quarter. It is near Bourbon Street. We paid for parking nearby. Staff was able to seat us immediately. We ordered a lot. I tried the alligator bites, hush puppies, Voodoo Drink, Chargrilled oysters, blackened redfish, and sides. The alligator bites have pork in them and look like little sausages. They do taste amazing though. The hush puppies are decent. The Voodoo drink is deceptively strong. Chargrilled oysters are nice. The Blackened Redfish is delicious and light. I can't remember the sides at all. I would return.
google avatar

Alexandria J.

Yelp
We stopped here for oyster happy hour, service was good - talkative and friendly. The food was good and can't beat the price. Since you have to sit at the bar to participate in happy hour for the oysters, the vibe was low key. Also the price for oysters is higher then advertised for happy hour
google avatar

Yelp
Let me tell you about my recent trip to New Orleans Creole Cookery--this place is the real deal! We rolled in with a party of 10, and the vibes were classy New Orleans all the way. I'm talking about that perfect mix of elegance and festive energy that makes you feel like you've stepped into a scene from a movie. Now, let's talk about the food. It was nothing short of smashing. I went for the Creole pasta, and it was an absolute knockout--rich, flavorful, and packed with all the good stuff. But here's where things got a bit tricky: when it came time for drinks, I was ready to throw back some Coors Light, only to find out they didn't have it. No problem! I pivoted to Miller Light, which did the trick just fine. So, picture this: the check arrives, and surprise, surprise, they can't split it up. Cue my moment of genius. I throw my hands up and say, "Uh-oh, looks like I've got alligator arms out here!" Everyone at the table cracks up, and I'm sitting back, letting another mate of mine foot the bill for the whole meal. Classic move, right? Didn't cost me a dime, and the laughter was worth its weight in gold. The atmosphere, the food, and the humor made for an unforgettable night. If you're looking for a spot that nails the New Orleans vibe while serving up delicious dishes, this is your place. I'll definitely be back for round two--preferably with some more alligator arms ready to go!

Yelp
Just don't go here. Service was incredibly slow and that was just the start. - one member of our party ordered an Irish coffee, they brought him a shot of whiskey and then about 5 min later a cup of coffee to add to it - ordered raw oysters to start and they were served without ice and with Ken's cocktail sauce in a to-go single-serve container. They got warm, fast, and it was not pleasant - never got water refills - didn't get the correct menu initially and had to track down the brunch menu - after getting the brunch menu, we all ordered off it - the poached eggs were basically hard boiled - the pic shows the sad attempt at chicken and waffles. 3 small chicken strips, a frozen waffle, and kraft pancake syrup. The other tables around us had powdered sugar but this one did not. - they had music playing from pandora that kept skipping and a loud noise in the courtyard that was like a ringing in our ears the entire time. We should have left after a few initial bumps and regret staying. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid!

Yelp
Terrible terrible terrible experience We were in town for a cruise, and because Valentine's Day, this place was the only choice we had. The nightmare started when the hostess sat us under the exhaust fan from the kitchen, while it was blowing fatty smelly air on our heads. We asked if we could change the tables, and she sat us on the corner out. Ok. Better than were we where before. I don't need to mention how terrible the service was. How long a Coke Zero took to arrive at our table. How bad and cold the food was. I am here to complain for the disgusting and bad situation at the end, when the waiter double charged the card of my friends, who were visiting from Brazil. He did apologize, but the things got worse, when the manager Jasmine tried to repair the situation, and instead she gives to us their receipt, the charged 2 more times on my friends card, so now they have 4 wrong transactions. She said she had to do that, be she that was the only way to have a receipt for them. As I mentioned before, my friends are visiting from Brazil. So who knows when the transaction will be canceled, since today is Saturday, Monday is holiday, and they have a international credit card. And she promised to us that the transaction would be solved on their account this morning. She lied again. I don't recommend that place at all. You will have a terrible and unprofessional experience.

Tom E.

Yelp
Went with my family (4 guests). Seriously not worth it! The food looks like it's coming from your school canteen. I could do 10 times better at home without a doubt my hands tied in my back!!! Now if you are looking for quantity you hit the right place. It's tasteless but you sure have plenty to go with!!! Now the dish at $26 for rice, two shrimps and a sausage poorly prepared you can throw a lot of it turning a huge markup. In short stay away! Just a note the waitress was pleasant so nothing to do with her. FYI you are automatically charged a 20% service fees blended in the middle of the tab so look for it!!!

Yelp
Wow... I'm so glad I was able to stumble upon on this place. I was going to give it a less star because the host couldn't find my reservation and when we were prompted to sit in the bar area, we were asked to move to the bar. Even though people who came after were able to sit at the tables.. anyways.. shout out to Cho & Tony. Made this experience memorable. Food came out fast. My boyfriend loved everything from the flavors of the chargrilled oysters to the taste of New Orleans. The dessert was beyond amazing. If you're looking for a good time, come here. They have cute courtyard with live music too. Yelp gave it a 3.6/5, but a 5/5.
google avatar

Kat S.

Yelp
The restaurant is tucked on a not so travelled side street and exudes all the NOLA characteristics one would expect. There were a couple of eating spaces in the place but there weren't many diners when we were there at 7:00pm. The servers and service were a little off putting. Our main server asked about our drink order and described a few cocktails. Then, she paused, and said, and for the men we have these following three beers. What an odd comment. It pissed one of our group members off so much, SHE orders a beer. We ordered a dozen chargrilled- they came out quickly- after inhaling them, we ordered a dozen more. The second ordered, disappointingly came as we were finishing our entrees. I found the food above average but the customer service was quite off putting. It was inviting. Bin a city with a plethora of choices, I will not return.

Yelp
Came into town for the Taylor Swift concert and enjoyed their themed menu. The food was delicious, drinks were strong, and the service was great! Our waitress was kind and helpful, and sitting in the courtyard was a great way to enjoy the weather. We'll definitely be back again.

Yelp
Here again from California. Was here for the Chicago Bears and Saints game. My husband reserved our table. When we arrived it was crowded but we were seated fast. It's a lively crowd just like we remembered. They usually have music blasting and today wasn't different. We ordered our appetizers, drinks, and meal. My husband ordered the firecracker shrimp which we had before and it is phenomenal. I ordered a half dozen char grilled oysters because I love them so much. For our meals I ordered the catfish with shrimp and potatoes. My husband ordered the fried shrimp with french fries. Everything was delicious and we were stuffed. But I had to order the bananas foster bread pudding. It's was outstanding and served with ice cream. All in all a great experience as always. Thanks to our server Terrell. He was great and had many recommendations.

Yelp
Stopped in here for dinner with some friends after enjoying great cigars right across the street at Cuban Creations. First off, the restaurant had a great atmosphere. Second, we were seated promptly and the servers were immediately giving us their full attention. Third, the food was phenomenal. The Wedge Salad was delightful. Blue cheese crumbles with blue cheese dressing was the perfect touch. Got the jambalaya and it was cooked to perfection, rich in flavor, and maybe the best jambalaya in the French Quarter. This place is my new favorite go to for creole cuisine.

Yelp
Overall, maybe the most consistently good food across dishes of all of the restaurants I tried during my New Orleans trip! Food: Crab cake - $12 generous size, really good, lots of crab/seafood in it (pic is only half the crab cake because I forgot to take a picture before we split it) Oysters - really good! Snapper ponchatrain - $37 very flavorful and buttery, delicious with the sauce Crawfish étouffée - $22 really dark roux that had a nutty flavor, would have preferred if the etouffee was on the side rather than on top of the rice Had issues with the service where we were not waited on for a long time (about 40 mins before anyone came to our table) but it seemed like it was a rare error and the server was very apologetic and we had good service after that!
google avatar

Prerana C.

Yelp
The service was good, the ambiance was great. We loved the crab cake, the pasta was not bad.

Fiona B.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and had the most fantastic time! Nina was excellent and made us a fabulous martini. The oysters were expertly prepared by Edward, we had both raw and chargrilled. The raw oysters were the best I've ever tasted! A fantastic destination for the best oysters in town!!
google avatar

Paul D.

Yelp
Go for the oyster happy hour (bar only) skip the rest of it. Plump raw oysters, hot delicious charbroiled oysters. Dry salty jambalaya, crab cake napoleon vaguely tasted like the crab mixture had spent too much time in a refrigerator. Charges an extra charge for credit card transactions. They mention it only as another item on the check. Staff was friendly but shift changed as we arrived. Making for some confusion. Almost forgot ambience. Sports on big tvs behind the bar. Industrial fan blowing ac into the kitchen at the end of the bar. Certainly not the worst place to eat, but you could do better.

Yelp
The food, service, and atmosphere were outstanding. This place is loud, so loud that I wasn't concerned about my kids acting like toddlers do. They were pretty busy for a Wednesday but got us in right away. It took a while to get our food but it was hot, fresh, and delicious so I'm not complaining! I have a shellfish allergy and my son is vegetarian so we searched for ever to find a place with shrimpless jambalaya AND vegetarian jambalaya. This place has both and they were both phenomenal. The hush puppies were also a hit. The regular jambalaya was delicious but the vegetarian was even better and had a bit more of a spice kick. This was an outstanding New Orleans Jambalaya experience. Our server was busy but that didn't stop him from giving outstanding service. I don't drink alcohol but my husband got the sazerac and I wanted something but they don't have a mocktail list. So I asked the server and he said they can make lots of them. Noticing I was overwhelmed at the concept of choosing one, he offered to surprise me and I agreed. Soooo good. I don't even know what it was but it was exactly what I wanted.

Yelp
To be frank short summery is I'd not come back here. There are a plethora of other options and are doing a better job. With that being said the place was cute and the food was just ok but that's were the positives end. The tables were so close I felt like i was sitting with the other couple. Is was hard not to listen in on their conversation. No one was picking up empty glasses or dishes. After the other couple left we sit looking at their dirty dishes and 6 cocktail glasses. Meanwhile they NEVER asked us what we wanted to drink ...I wanted to get some cocktails but they never asked just brought water which they let go empty. The food would have been alright in Ohio but there it was a C+ compared to so many excellent places. we tried this because it was close to our hotel and there was no waiting or lines. But we should have figured there is a reason for that. I'm not at all a big drinker but we were only in town a few days and I wanted to have fun, so I was really butt hurt that they never asked if we wanted a cocktail. Sure I could have said something when she asked for our food order but It was off putting. Every restaurant takes the drink order before they address food choices. Another thing that was weird and off putting is what I ordered came with heirloom potatoes. I'm not a potato fan ... I asked if i could sub it with anything that wasn't a potato and she offered a different potato option. Did she not just hear me say ANYTHING BUT POTATOS even if there's an up charge. Well you would have thought this was against the law. She had to go ask the manager and he said no. So by this point I don't even want anything here and all we're out is time and aggravation. I wanted to leave and go somewhere with better service. But my husband asked to speak to the manager and he came over and he still wasn't willing. At this point we only had water and I just reallllly wanted to leave but my husband just kept going till he grudgingly offered to sub it for corn. I didn't even eat the corn it was over cooked and weird seasoning. By that point I was just annoyed and not enjoying the meal. The service was slow and seemed they were understaffed. Several table stayed full of dishes long after the people left.

Yelp
Oysters were served still bubbling hot, delicious place. Worth the effort to eat here. Nothing fancy but just good food. Others loved the gumbo.

Yelp
This was a nice restaurant. The gumbo was tasty, the gator bites had a nice zing to them, & the hush puppies were a great offset to the spice of the gator bites. As for the service, our server (he had a short haircut) seemed sort of lost - he would either walk by & not say anything, or he would just be nonexistent. The other servers seemed more attentive to their patrons in a good way. Overall, I would definitely come back for the food!

Yelp
We found this place through a foodie tour, and maybe that's why everything was so stellar for us! Wait staff were happy we were there. Often on food tours, staff make you feel like an inconvenience, and this place did not. We were set aside in a private room and served the best chargrilled oysters I have ever had. Actually smoked, not liquid smoke, and full of flavor. I would say this is the best in the city very easily! Gumbo is always subject to opinion. I think this one was excellent. It was a very dark roux, and lots of flavor. We were served the chicken and andouille sausage, and it had nice chunks of both. Reading the reviews, I take it this place lacks consistency. However, when we were there, they were absolutely on-pointe! 5 STARS

Yelp
Everyone was raving about the New Orleans, Creole Cookery. It was so close to our hotel so we decided to give it a try! We easily made a reservation for Friday night, so that was a relief! We started with the gumbo, which was divine!! I had the red beans and rice, which they also add spicy sausage into. Amazing! My husband chose the jambalaya, he was very pleased. Everyone was extremely friendly, from the front desk staff to the servers to the bussers!! would definitely return!

Yelp
The place has a good atmosphere with nice outside dining in a courtyard. Hushpuppies were very tasty and the wedge salad was one of my favorites. The crab cakes were good - a little to greasy for me but others in my party liked them. Overall the food is good, service is ok, and a good atmosphere.

Yelp
Service was horrible. The waitress was very unprofessional and used profanity throughout the visit. She even chased me and my friend out the restaurant asking for her tip after she was consistently rude and lacked basic knowledge of the menu and couldn't answer any of our questions. The food was okay. Stuffed mushrooms were cold when they came out. Oysters were good and fried seafood was also good. Nothing to rave about here tbh.

Yelp
Believe the negative reviews. Over $300 for a family of four for Thanksgiving dinner. Cold, poorly prepped food, dumped on a single plate. The non-Thanksgiving menu items were equally pathetic. This should have been a wonderful family trip to New Orleans for a holiday - instead I made the mistake of coming here.

Yelp
Amazing!!!! I mean it. This is defintely my favorite restaurant in NOLA. I look forward to coming back here for the oysters and a lemon drop cocktail. This place is just a good time at the bar and in the dinning area it give old time luxury. I love this place. All the staff were extremely kind.

Yelp
Carlos was our server and was so incredibly nice! The place gives off a old rustic feeling so it was an amazing experience. We ordered a vegetarian jambalaya, fried pickles, the wedge and a appetizer size chicken and sausage jambalaya. All in all a great experience and tasty food. My inly complaint is that my jambalaya wasnt hot like it should have been. Instead it was warm but still tasty

Yelp
As soon as we came into the restaurant we were greeted with a smile and seated instantly. Food was amazing everything came out within 15 minutes of ordering and was hot. Our waiter checked on us multiple times which we appreciated even though we didn't need anything. Would definitely visit again.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this place!! The red beans and rice is out of this world. The service is impeccable--and the ambience is beyond amazing. If you are lucky enough to sit at the bar and get served by John you will keep coming back. He is friendly and welcoming. We had such a great time we canceled reservations and came back for more! Thank you so much John, Gregory "Hambone" and Maurice---We simply love you guys!!! This spot is a must! It's authentic (and pretty freaking awesome) New Orleans recipes. We will keep coming back for more! Thanks to bartender John we have a favorite spot in New Orleans. We will be back for sure!! I wish I could rate more than 5 stars!!!

Yelp
I have to admit, we thought this place would be very touristy and we were not sure how good it would be. This place is great! We had the chargrilled oysters, wedge salad, redfish Ponchatrain, and pecan crusted redfish. I now know exactly where I'm coming when I'm hungry for fish. YUM!
