Booked a room for one night before flying home from MSY. Last night with our son as he entered active duty. Wanted a memorable evening in NOLA! Disappointed in bathroom cleanliness. Booked for 3 adults, room only supplied with 2 towels, just 2 bath towels- no hand towels or wash clothes. Check in (as Platinum Elite) was the biggest downfall. We were not informed of the $15 F&B credit. We were not informed of nor given the $30 “entertainment” gift card. We checked in around 2 and just lounged at the pool for several hours until dinner time. Had we been offered our gift card, it may have prompted us to do something a little more creative. I only found out about the daily credits by approaching the front desk, much later, to ask about M Club details as they were not provided at check in either. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Within walking distance to all the local cool spots. As a patron with status, I shouldn’t have to beg for benefit information, it should be offered.

I had such a wonderful experience at the New Orleans Marriott hotel on Canal Street! From the moment I arrived, everything felt clean, welcoming, and well-maintained. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of it all, and just steps away from some of the best Southern food spots in the city. Whether I was craving gumbo, beignets, or fried chicken, it was all within walking distance. One of the highlights of my stay was breakfast at the hotel, not just for the food, but for the amazing staff. They were genuinely warm, friendly, and made me feel right at home every morning. It's rare to see that level of hospitality these days, and it really made my trip special. I’ll definitely be staying here again next time I’m in New Orleans. Highly recommended!

I stayed at this hotel during the IB Conference and I must say the property did an outstanding job! All of the staff from the front desk, to valet, to The Pantry was amazing! We enjoyed a few nights hanging out and eating and drinking in the lobby’s lounge. Other days we ventured into the city! The hotel is centrally located and walking distance to most places! I will definitely be back!!

We recently stayed here for a destination wedding and loved it! Our bride also stayed here so we got to take some photos at the hotel. The lighting in the rooms is great and so is the space in them. They're also super clean which we appreciated. When chatting with the staff, they were very kind and helpful. Our bride wanted to take some photos with her bridesmaids at the hotel and when speaking with staff members, they suggested the pool area which was perfect. So from both a photo perspective and guest perspective, if you need to find a hotel to stay at for your wedding then this is a great spot!

Beautiful hotel. Great outstanding customer service. Offers valet. Great location with great views. The hotel has its own restaurant and it’s absolutely delicious. They also have a little grocery store I guess I call it which was also great food good prices!!

Google
The staff was awesome. Very attentive and great hospitality. The lobby was beautiful and up kept. The hotel is in a great location, close to everything you may want to do! The bed was comfortable and clean. My main complaint is mostly about the bathroom. The bathroom is extremely dated. The shower knob is so old it takes a minute to figure out how to work it. The textured floor of the tub attracts dirt and unfortunately makes the tub look dirty. Additionally there was rust on the door of the bathroom & the door knob looked like it was loose, about to come off. The Marriott on canal needs to give these bathrooms some good TLC and maybe even consider a remodel. I love staying at Marriotts but the quality of this hotel didn’t align with the price.

I had a Wonderful stay at the New Orleans Marriott for a Memorial Day weekend trip. Everything of an attraction was within footsteps of the hotel. Bourbon street, the New Orleans street car Trolley, Area restaurants and stores on Canal street, the French Quarter, etc. My room had an Outstanding view of the city and sunset each night. Many Many pictures I took as the sun set from high above in my room. Loved it! My interactions with the many hotel staff members were All very Pleasant and Friendly! I've always wanted to stay at this hotel for many years and I finally made an opportunity to stay! I'm very well pleased with my Choice! I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member and we get Much Luv from being a member! Sign Up! It has it's perks! Two Thumbs Up to this hotel and staff during my Memorial Day weekend visit to the Crescent city! I cannot wait to come back!

Google
Overdue for a renovation. Stayed 8 days in two types of rooms (Standard then Suite). Both rooms smelled like old cigarettes. Sticky light switches. Mold in the bathroom. Lackluster amenities. No umbrellas around the pool. Gym had lots of treadmills but not much else. |Most of the staff were super friendly though.|Location is great. Easy access to the trollies. Walking distance to Bourbon Street. Lots of shops and bars nearby.|For the Money we spent I would look elsewhere.

Yelp
The rooms could be nicer, but the location is great. The lobby was very festive and eye-catching. Lots of food and restaurant options. I got coupons for a drink at Sazerac House that I didn't get to use, but the $25 food credit gave me breakfast and snacks for the road.

Yelp
Great high quality rooms, the restaurants are excellent and they have a Pantry that closes at midnight with a wide selection of food, snacks and beverages. Had the 2024 LES Annual Meeting there and from my room on the 15th Floor you could see most of the French Quarter of New Orleans. Definitely recommended as a place to stay if you are in New Orleans!

Yelp
Great location, great food can really compete with the local surrounding restaurants. Rooms are clean.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay primarily because of the service we received. Eric Terrell was fantastic to work with; he ensured we were more than taken care of. Jermaine in engineering was hilarious and helped fix our toilet. Andre came and fixed our shower when there was no hot water. Gillian, Mary Ann, and Zyria were also friendly and helpful. I didn't get the lady's name at the omelet station in the club lounge, but she was super hospitable. I felt like I was standing in her home kitchen. Lol I can't remember the bartender at the lobby bar, but she was great. We utilized all amenities offered and had a pleasant experience with all staff. The pool area is very nice at night, there's plenty of space so you're not squished.    The team handled every question, issue, or request quickly and efficiently--for that reason alone, I would stay again. However, on the cons side, I was not a big fan of the rooms. They are in dire need of renovation. Once the hotel receives a facelift, it will be perfect.   Also, Eric recommended the beignets at The Pantry, and omg, they were the best beignets I had on the entire trip. 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that this is a beautiful hotel. We booked through Southwest vacations and couldn't have been happier with the room and the ambiance of the hotel. That being said, we were not prepared for this hotel to be hosting the Kansas City Chiefs for the super bowl. They handled things fairly well, with the exception of one night of room service where our order apparently got forgotten and we had to go and retrieve the food. Not a huge deal, but still annoying. Would stay again.... Minus the super bowl hub bub.

Yelp
This is just This is absolutely fantastic! Let me share with you my initial thoughts about our check-in process and the service we received upon our arrival. I couldn't believe it when my wife surprised me with a birthday weekend getaway in the vibrant city of New Orleans, also known as the Big Easy. My excitement was through the roof, but I must admit, I had some concerns about the hotel situation. However, let me assure you that all my worries vanished into thin air the moment we stepped foot into the marvelous Marriott on 555 Canal Street. At the front counter, we were warmly greeted by the extraordinary Mary Ann, who seemed like an actual angel sent from above. Her attitude and incredible patience while explaining all the marvelous benefits of our stay were beyond compare. Not only did she provide us with a plethora of essential information about the area and the must-visit places during our four-day stay, but she also went above and beyond to make my birthday celebration truly unforgettable. Mary Ann surprised us with an absolutely amazing room, exceeding all our expectations. It was a delightful surprise that I will remember for a lifetime. If only every hotel experience could be as remarkable as this one, people would be overjoyed wherever they go. But for now, Mary Ann is our guardian angel, and we couldn't be more grateful. I sincerely hope that the next time you visit this extraordinary establishment, you have the incredible opportunity to be taken care of by Mary Ann. Trust me, you will be deeply touched by her exceptional service. Once again, a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff for making our stay a truly memorable one.

Yelp
The location of BPC 2024, my boss and I booked our rooms here, which sits on the corner of Canal Street and what is Chartres Street of the French Quarter. Meaning, you can walk out the hotel to the right if you're in the carpool entrance, and, "Boom!" In the French Quarter. Location, location, location is what makes the New Orleans Marriott appealing. You are close to everything within the downtown area such as the French Quarter. The Sazerac House sits across the street from the hotel. There are scores of restaurants everywhere within walking distance. Bars, jazz clubs, all within walking distance. Hell, the Mahogany Jazz Hall is literally across the street from the hotel on Chartres. You could spend a whole week just spending time in the French Quarter and strut back to the Marriott and be none the wiser. Accommodations-wise, the hotel was decent. It takes a minute to figure out the tablet-like board at the elevators to determine where you need to go in the hotel for either your room, the main ballroom, the gym, the pool, or the conference halls. There's a bar and a restaurant situated on the lobby floor for drinks and food. There's a coffee bar that's not quite Starbucks but kind of is Starbucks also on the lobby as well as a convenience mart next to that. Escalators can take you to the second and third floors immediately for access to the ballrooms and conference rooms. Additionally, there's luggage room for where you can have the hotel hold your bags in case you flight doesn't leave until later in the day and you had to check out in the morning. There's also a business center with a FedEx desk I believe if you need to ship anything out without needing to find an outside location. Price-wise for drinks and food is typical for hotels but not exorbitant, so if you were looking for a quick happy hour round before heading off to the French Quarter, the bar does serve its purpose. But you're in New Orleans, you should be heading out to enjoy the fare correctly. The room service for when we needed extra pillows and towels was fairly prompt, especially, when housekeeping forgot to give us back pillows after they stripped the pillow cases and the bed. The room itself was solid. The king-sized bed was great with a desk and chair to do work, and a more comfty chair with a standing-floor lamp to read and relax if didn't want to attempt sitting up in bed. There were drawers to put clothes, a closet to hang shirts, pants, and dresses. The bathroom was a little cramped width wise but there was enough space on the counter to place all toiletries if you were with your better half. So overall, the experience was solid, and would stay again due to the walking distance to the French Quarter.

Yelp
After staying at the JW across the street, it felt like a downgrade to have to move over to the New Orleans Marriott (which is to be expected based on hotel tiers). The room quality was lacking, but overall the hotel did have many distinguishing points that led to an all around amazing stay! Pros: -M Lounge. If you have status or pay for a room with access, the M Lounge is definitely worth it. You get access to a full breakfast buffet in the morning and a substantial spread in the evening that could make up an entire dinner meal. -Nice gym with peloton bikes and lots of space to work out. -Large lounge area downstairs is perfect for gathering and grabbing a bite to eat. I have to say, their beignets were better than the ones from Cafe du Monde. -Nice event and conference space. The top floor area is perfect for a skyline view and a great happy hour. They also helped to coordinate a conference event including a massive table of hurricanes and a second line to our boat activity. Cons: -The rooms are outdated and old. The bathroom is so tiny and a tight squeeze.

Yelp
We stayed at this Marriott this year while attending Mardi Gras, and while the location is ideal and the lobby is beautiful, the guest rooms really need a face-lift. As one would expect, this was a pretty pricy stay, being that we were there during the end of Mardi Gras. Its location on Canal Street made watching the parades a cinch, I even watched several from our bedroom window. It was also an easy walk to the craziness of Bourbon St and the French Quarter, as well as a quick walk to the river and all the festivities going on down there. Like I said, this hotel has the absolute sweet spot. We also enjoyed the festive decorations and lights the lobby was done in, helping to get guests into the spirit. While I hate wearing wristbands, their system worked to get only guests in through door security without too bad of a line forming. Rooms are quite shabby, unfortunately. No modern updates, carpet looks old and feels dirty, dated wallpaper and curtains and thin scratchy towels. The shower was very old as well and did not control water temperature very well. Overall, because of the location, we'd probably stay here again.. but I won't be thrilled about it, haha

Yelp
run of the mill hotel. decent location a bit hectic at the street front. Large ground level with a lobby bar.

Yelp
Prime location, this building is a bit outdated, plumbing with low water pressure & overall the facade could use a facelift. Sheraton pops compared to this establishment. One thing we notice aside from low water pressure is that the bathroom is very small & hard for 2 people to both be in there at the same time. The hospitality over all positive & welcoming. If you have status the free buffet breakfast is a nice benefit along with the custom made to order eggs. Don't forget to tip the egg cook & the staff that picks up after you. We were originally to stay on Bourbon street however the crowds & noise intimidated us. Lol sharing that this location also is noisy from the late parades. Yes, we would stay here again! There is a Bloody Mary bar & fresh beignets. The beignets are freakin scrumptious
google avatar

Bob M.

Yelp
Honestly average Marriott. The good: staff excellent. Food and drinks very good. Location perfect - just close enough to Bourbon Street without the craziness. The bad: heavy volume hotel with some heavy traffic. Example is half my USB port broken. The ugly: elevators. No buttons in elevators instead you select outside and the system picks an elevator for you. This leads to confusion and people getting in the wrong one or missing it. They got overwhelmed and stopped working at one point. Housekeeping: in 4 days I only got my room cleaned once. Where were they?

Yelp
I can't believe this! I'm currently at a convention and checked into the Marriet at 555 Cancal in New Orleans. Let me tell you, I walked into room 560 and it reeked of cat urine with a bed bug crawling around (I have pictures to prove it). I immediately went to speak to the manager, Abbey Lewis, but instead, they sent security officer Lawrence. He treated me as if I was making the whole thing up, even after I showed him the bugs in my bed. Ms. Lewis promised to send someone to help me move to another room, 568. Can you believe that room 568 was covered in mucus with ants crawling around (I have a video)? I called downstairs again and was told the head of housekeeping would come to move me once more. Now I'm in room 561, but I can't sleep because I feel like my skin is crawling. Marriot is this how youve trained your staff to treat professional attending a convention in of New Orleans. If this is true you dont ever have to worry about me friends or family coming to your hotel ever again. The dismistive behavior from your staff was extremely disturbing and should call of immediate training for your entire staff.

Yelp
This is a really nice place in a great location if you're a tourist, but the perfume they use in the lobby makes me sick. I don't think I can stay here again.
google avatar

Carl S.

Yelp
Great experience overall. Large busy lobby that has been updated and nicely decorated. The bar is a can't miss due to its size and location. The M Club is conveniently located opposite the front desk. I was surprised that food was actually good with a few hot options. My only negative is you are forced to valet park or go who knows where to find a garage. Street parking is not an option.
google avatar

Bridgitte N.

Yelp
I stay exclusively at Marriott when I travel for work and this is the worst Marriott I have ever stayed at. Trust me and book any of the other Marriott properties in this area. When I first arrived, they had overbooked and sent me as a walk out to the Sheraton across the street for the night. The next day, no ETA on when my room would be available and I had to keep following up hourly for my room. Once checked in, they tried to give me a different room than the one I had booked and tried to say I was leaving a day earlier than I had booked. When I pulled up my reservation to show them, they all of a sudden had availability. To top it all off, I had to stop by guest services daily to fix my key card as neither the physical or mobile key cards would work. The hotel is outdated and the staff customer service is not up to the Marriott standard. Don't stay here. If they can treat someone with Marriott status like this, imagine if you don't have status.

Lyssa D.

Yelp
Let me start with, we got an upgrade. Our room was a great corner suite with a river view. New Orleans is noisy, but double pain glass and 21 floors helped. The room is nice, but the biggest difference for me is that the internet is great, we are Titanium Marriott members and having coffee available, the gumbo at the evening club spread, the ease of getting into the Quarter, the closeness of shopping, and the off the street unloading area, makes this hotel work well for us. Add to that the great view, and I'm a happy camper.
google avatar

Greg Z.

Yelp
There on business trip. Nice downtown location. At first stayed in a room that needs renovation. Discussed with manager and was moved to a much improved location. Not sure why but bathrooms are low ceiling, slightly over 6'. Best part was the staff at the M-Club. Kudos to Sandra and Manny and another two staff and the morning chef which made the entire stay outstanding. I hope management appreciates their exceptional staff. Front desk manager jumps in to help when busy which is good leadership there. Fitness Center was small but had everything needed for a decent workout. Parking was ridiculously expensive, $45 and the bar tab differed each night even though I bought the same drink. So prices depends on Bartender. Watch and keep your receipts from the bar!!! Creole House Restaurant and Sazarac next door in a must visit. Highly recommend this Marriott Hotel.

Yelp
This is an excellent hotel with incredible location for visitors. Five minutes walk from French Quarter, Bourbon St, about ten minutes talk to Riverwalk Outlet, has a stop right in front of the hotel to Mardi Gras World. Casinos are 2 minutes walk. Barely need a car when staying at this hotel. The hotel lobby is huge. Have a restaurant, a unique M Club Lounge for Platinum and above members. At lounge they serve free breakfast, light dinner between 5pm-7pm, and 24/7 available for drinks, tea, coffee, fruits and light snacks. Out of everything I was most impressed with this complimentary feature of this hotel. The hotel has other amenities like meeting rooms, gym and two swimming pools. One of them is 8 ft deep, another only 3ft, very friendly for toddlers and young kids. The security is excellent as they make sure only hotel guests are using the amenities. The room we got was solid. It was clean, has a nice view of Mississippi river. The TV had channels and options to steam Netflix, Amazon Prime. Bathroom was spacious, though I'd have liked more water pressure in the shower. Overall we had a marvelous four nights stay at the hotel. Check out was a simple as dropping our room card in drop off box. If I ever return to NOLA, I'd surely stay here again.

Yelp
New Orleans Marriott location at 555 Canal Street in the business district is a short walk to everything in the French Quarter. This hotel has 2 towers of rooms. We stayed in the taller tower which has 42 floors. We were in town celebrating our wedding anniversary and got lucky to stay on the 34th floor. We arrived really early (around 9:30am) we knew our room would not be ready but the nice people at Marriott held our luggage and because we are Marriott Platinum Lifetime gave us a pass to have breakfast in the M Lounge (thank you Marriott). Food in the M Lounge is nice, they have several coffee choices, as in regular coffee and a machine to make lattes. They have the usual scrambled eggs, a toaster to make toasted bread and several fruit choices. But they also have a station to get custom eggs made which is also a custom omelette bar. Breakfast while we were there (Mon-Thursday was till 11:00am). They also had a salmon and bagel bar. The best thing about breakfast at this Marriott is the made in house Beignets!! Yes, that's right every morning I was greeted at breakfast with delicious, hot freshly made Beignets, which are delicious. The M Lounge also has small dinner bits, salad and desserts 6-8pm. This hotel was busy during our stay but the people are nice and helpful. Our room was dated but the bed was comfortable and made sleeping good. The TV was nice and big for view and best it had internet access so we were able to view Netflix holiday movies during our stay. Our bathroom was small and we had a bath with a shower had(had to ask for a shower cap). But it worked. Small closet but we used the drawers in the room, so it worked. The weather was cold while we were visiting so I called and asked for a blanket. I was told they did not have any so I asked for a duvet cover, and I got it!!! Yes, thank you. The elevator here is interesting as you enter the number of your floor and it tells you which elevator you need to use. Overall I recommend this Marriott on 555 Canal Street. I will come back and stay here.

Yelp
I want to give this hotel 5 stars so bad! The staff was all friendly and helpful. The M lounge is one of the best I've ever seen, breakfast was delicious but we had dinner reservations so I didn't check out the evening snacks. (I think it's worth the upgrade if you're not Elite). Also, the views are lovely from many rooms, and the location is perfect. But.. the rooms need updating sooooo bad. The room feels so humid, and I'm pretty sure it's because there's no fan/ vent in the bathrooms (which are tiny as others have mentioned). The wheelchair accessible room is lovely, with a roll in shower and bench in the spacious bathroom. We pass through NOLA every Christmas, so I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Gail C.

Yelp
It's hard to give this Marriott more than 3 stars. All extras and perks are reserved for platinum and higher rewards members. As a reward member with this chain spending thousands, you would think I could get a late checkout since my scheduled flight was delayed, or possibly eat in their restaurant. But neither are available to any "low level" member or guest. BTW I spent over 4k on Marriott hotels since September. The hotel is clean, the rooms nice and the higher level rooms have an amazing view.

Yelp
This hotel is very old and is not the prettiest. When I was checking in, I noticed a huge block that was kinda blocking everything. Sure, every building needs its columns for structural support. It was just odd that it was blocking half of the front desk area. The room was ok, very old and out-dated. I noticed in the bathroom next to the shower there was an old rusty beer opener mounted on the wall. What an odd place for this! I'm not sure what desperate person would actually use this rusty beer opener! While the hotel was not the prettiest, it was conveniently located in the center of Canal Street and was a good walking distance to almost everything. There's also a restaurant bar located in the center of the lobby. An odd location, but hey, it's convenient and you can't miss it! They also have a pantry market that's very well stocked with all kinds goodies: wine, beer, drinks, snacks, fruits, breakfast items, toiletries, etc. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here.

Yelp
Yes! I very much enjoy the New Orleans Marriott. I tried these guys last year on a whim and was very pleased. Normally I stay at the Sheraton, across the street, but the Marriott is quickly becoming a go-to place. It's a convention hotel, so breakfast doesn't start till 7 if you're using the M-Club, which can be frustrating if you have to be at work early. But, you make it work. Check them out if you're in NOLa!!
google avatar

Dorota L.

Yelp
Excellent experience at the NOLA Marriott! I was able to check in when i arrived at 1PM & i had the best view of the Mississippi River. Room was exceptionally clean, large, & comfortable. I used the fed ex located inside the hotel and had an excellent experience receiving 6 boxes and then having to print some sheets too! Will definitely be staying again
google avatar

Dorie B.

Yelp
Recently stayed here for work. Gorgeous views from the river side! The room was clean, the bed comfortable and housekeeping was excellent. They have a restaurant, bar and pantry (store) on the first floor. They are also convenient to the French Quarter. The rooms are somewhat close together but I was surprised that we were never bothered by any neighbors. The elevators can be a bit slow, especially if there's a conference in the hotel. The conference rooms were never freezing and accommodating. The only issues I had besides the elevators was that our carpet wasn't in the best shape. There was a large stain in our room. There are also very few places to hang towels. The hook on the door was worthless, the towels kept falling off and the rack in the shower had the shampoo and conditioner mounted under it. I would happily come back!
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel for a work conference and my room was on the 32nd floor facing the city/river and it was a nice view! The room was your standard double queen beds with a tight fitting bathroom. There wasn't an air vent in the bathroom so it made for stuffy showers. Being in the room while sleeping was fine as there wasn't much noise but I did have a white noise machine so that could've helped. Elevators worked properly, housekeeping was efficient, and checking in/out was easy. Overall, this was a good clean spot to stay during my time in New Orleans.

Tiara M.

Yelp
Interior design of this hotel is gorgeous. Sitting on Canal street it is quick and easy access to get to bourbon. The room was a decent size. The bathroom was a drawback. Very small. Not tall people friendly. I'm 5'9" and could comfortably touch the ceiling with full palm. The bar was really nice. The food was amazing as well.

Has L.

Yelp
Friendly services The elevators seem slow because there are 47 floors and t here place is always buzzing with people

Dane C.

Yelp
The catered food on site for events is very fine. The meeting rooms are OK. The rooms are ok except for not having a microwave, and none of the bottom sheets fit the mattresses.

Chante' M.

Yelp
All of the food from the pantry Was good. In my weeks stay I had pizza, a burger, Cobb salad, wings & beignets. Check in was hectic since 3 conferences were going on. The elevator system is different... Housekeeping fell a little short for this brand hotel. I was told they rushed hence why a false eyelash was left in my bed from the previous resident . The hotel was packed so they couldn't switch my room but they did change it as soon as I brought the issue to their attention. It's a great location overall.

Yelp
When I first went to this hotel, it was two years ago, and I fell in love with it. Went here this year for Christmas and it was nice to be back. The front desk associate upgraded our room because I was an elite which was nice of her. when we arrived to our room, the room was a bigger king room, which was good, but the bathroom was very small. As you can see from the video, the room was very spacious. We had balcony, but we couldn't open the window. I'm guessing maybe they had problems with previous guest and balconies. The Shower curtain I'm guessing it was blood on it because it looked like it was a blood stain on it. We went for breakfast Christmas Day for the buffet and it was really good. For about $26 per person you're able to get somewhat of a wide variety. But I love the omelette bar and the beignets. On the last day of our stay, I noticed that they had an area blocked off and they said that Texas football team was going to be there so we were able to watch them come in. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes and I will probably go back because this hotel is by a lot of things and it's walking distance.

Robin M.

Yelp
The extra $20 a night and parking was ridiculously overpriced. They say it was a resort fee??? Breakfast was $26. All the extra was too much for nothing. Plus tipping

Shannon D.

Yelp
I accidentally booked this hotel instead of the Sheraton across the street. I typically come to NoLa once a year or so. The Marriott feels chaotic. The registration seems chronically understaffed and the lobby is incredibly (and needlessly) noisy. They blare the tv/projector across the lobby while blaring music simultaneously. It creates a jarring and ...frankly, lower quality atmosphere. This is a Marriott that I did not enjoy. It feels like a place kids stay during spring break.

Yelp
Two stars for location. The rest of the experience... not so much. As someone who spends a LOT of nights in Marriott properties each year (although that is likely to change!), my mind boggles every time I get treated like I just fell off the turnip truck yesterday. On this most recent visit to this property, I was given a room that was truly not as clean as one would want it to be. I'll spare you, gentle reader, the description of the multiple areas of grossness in the room. When I mentioned this to the staff at the desk, a miracle happened!! There was a better (and cleaner) room available! Even the towels were better in this new, magical room! So I'm not sure what my advice is for you. Stay elsewhere? Make sure the room is clean or ask for a different/better one? Good luck.

Yelp
The hotel room had roaches. Roaches in the sink and then roaches found in other areas of the room which led to my husband shoes. Disgusting. After making complaints, room finally changed no apologies and attitude appeared as if they - the staff was not surprised. As a rewards member, given 50000 points, not acceptable for a billion dollar business. Don't stay at this location, Do better Marriott..

Yelp
Was at this hotel for a conference. Nice location to tourist attractions. Food was not good. Someone was shot on the corner where we were so not that safe of an area.

Yelp
Ok. Where do I start. I generally love the marriot. things just didn't go right when we arrived at the Marriott in the evening. Our luggage was lost, yes, literally lost and could not be found for 4 to 5 hours. We ate dinner there once, and had the fish tacos and a new York cut streak. it was OK, it wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't bad either. You could do much worse. Other than that the dinner spot was chill. during the conference I was at the lunches were good. The conference rooms were definitely nice and well maintained. So I have no complaints about those facilities as they were done well. i'll give the place three stars, because it's the Marriott and the room is nice. The view was good and it was a nice place to sleep. But I was so ticked off about losing my luggage, that it just got me started on the wrong foot.

Yelp
This is not a 4 star hotel in its current state. The lobby looks nice and gets you all excited...just to be disappointed. Rooms: Five night stay -- three rooms. The first room was not cleaned properly whatsoever. The sheets were stained. What made me look? The beds were sloppily made, sheets not tucked, etc. Phew. Like the cleaning staff knows better! The bathroom had multiple areas of filth to where I don't trust they did anything but wipe it down with some disinfectant wipes and replace the towels. It was giving lipstick on a pig. I called the front desk on the most antiquated, dingy looking phones, and they changed us to a new room. For the record, I arrived early and they did allow me early check in since rooms were available. When I went to the desk to get a new room, I told them if it's best to wait until normal check in time to get a clean, acceptable room -- I'd rather wait. The front desk staff was accommodating, very kind. We got a new room in the Quarter Tower and all seemed fine (not great but fine enough). Oh wait, the TV didn't work. Called the front desk, again, and they send up an engineer and he noticed the cords were disconnected, so he did his troubleshooting and got it up and running. I mean...they charge a $65 a day hold for incidentals and don't inspect the room after people check out to see if it maintains the standards? Anyhow, day 3, on Christmas morning, we slept in, attempted to take showers to start our day -- and no hot water. Come on! Call the front desk again and asked to speak to the manager. Daniel was immediately understanding of my frustrations and offered solid resolution. I had to switch rooms again. Note, seems they were aware there was a water heater issue with that unit. Rather than have another engineer to come fix something they should have already fixed, we packed up and moved to the River Tower. The River Tower, is on the side facing the river, unless you get stuck on the side facing the courtyard. Lucky me, I was facing the courtyard, but with it being a corner room, I could get a slight glimpse of the river since I had windows on two sides. Daniel made sure to mention this room was larger, which kinda makes it an upgrade right? Well, one thing noticeably not that great for the extra square feet (dead space)...no mirror in this room aside from the bathroom; and the bathroom ceiling is super low. Like so low that if you're 6'0 or taller you would probably bump your head in the step in tub while showering. I'm 5'8 and if I extend my arm to put on a shirt, I'm hitting the ceiling which is POP OUT TILE! Sigh. This is by no means a luxury room. I've stayed in nicer inns/motels. MClub: As mentioned, Daniel was accommodating upon hearing about my experience and offered me access to the MClub Lounge the remainder of our stay. It has been the highlight of our stay here. For breakfast you have access to the restaurant's buffet that includes an omelette station, beignets, bacon, grits, oatmeal, charcuterie, fruit -- a lot of GREAT breakfast options! I was impressed. And most important...the staff put a SMILE on your face. They are attentive and have great energy. The omelette station cook needs a tip jar because I've watched her make three omelettes while taking new orders, all while smiling, and making the omelettes to perfection. She is good! Staff: The staff is ultimately why I gave each star. They do exude southern hospitality for sure. From the concierge, to the MClub staff, to Daniel the manager -- all aiming to please. I appreciate that. Lobby: A cool bar and plenty of seating with TVs grace the lobby. It gets popping down there! And we happen to be here during the Sugar Bowl so the decor went from Christmas to Univ of Texas banners since they are staying here. Pretty cool. Overall, the staff compensated for the lackluster rooms. I thought I read in other reviews that this hotel had been renovated, but the front desk said they will be undergoing renovations. They definitely need it! That said, would I stay here again? Probably not. But, you live and learn. Note: Because I was accommodated for the poor rooms, I choose not to upload the pictures that support the lack of cleanliness and other issues.

Yelp
Roaches appeared throughout the room. They said would send someone up to check room out, no one came. I stayed with colleague in her room on my last night no point in getting another room since leaving at 4am. Didn't even get offer for discount.

Yelp
Pros: This is the perfect location literally right on Canal which is super ghetto but right in the mix with the French quarter directly behind it. Great view of the Mississippi. Staff is friendly. Cons: Old hotel with old musty rooms. Shower is for people under 5"5 Elevator system is whack A train runs ALL NIGHT LONG honking its horn right next to hotel. Not a fan of this hotel.

Yelp
I expected a lot more from a 4-stat hotel. Our first room the lights and power sockets did not work. We noted it to the front desk immediately after walking in. We got moved to a new room, and this one instead had sewer gas filling the bathroom. We had no time to move to a THIRD room, so we prepped and got ready for our event. When we went to bed we closed the bathroom door and we were unable to use it to shower in the morning. The smell was nauseating. It smelled like feces and rotting food. I told the front desk about the sewer gas in the morning when checking out and they seemed un-phased by it. No apology. Nothing. Like it was a normal issue with their bathrooms. 2 screwed up rooms back to back in my opinion is condemning for a 4 star hotel. Then the valet parking, that whole service was downright atrocious yesterday. I understand there were several events ongoing but the valet service literally only had 4 guys running around to manage the cars. They were severely understaffed, losing track of keys and other shenanigans. The wait to get your car yesterday morning was over an hour. I saw several people being told they had to go back to the 45 minute line because they lost track of their car in the queue. You may get lucky with the rooms, though I am skeptical at this point if they don't take sewer gas in their bathroom serious. A severe health hazard. But if you choose to stay here park elsewhere if it's during a busy season or you'll regret it.

Yelp
Staying here for work. Nice hotel located on the edge of the French quarter. They have a good workout room and food is good in the bar area. Probably only complaint is they host large groups for conferences. Check in can be long and groups block the entrances. Of course these guests are often out of control. I guess it's their time away from responsibilities.

Yelp
Had a lovely stay at the New Orleans Marriott for the most part. My room was really quiet with minimal noise from guests in the hall. I think this was the first time I've stayed in New Orleans when I wasn't woken up continuously. The staff was very responsive over chat in the app and provided excellent service. A few little things that could have been better: Room service was fast and tasty but you used to be able to pick up food at the bar at Marriotts and not pay $15 in fees. Didn't see this option on in app ordering. Also how is there no coffee on the in room dining menu? Trust me, your guests want better coffee than is in the horrible little in room pods. At some point a college football team was unloading and the staff completely blocked the sidewalk forcing foot traffic into the street. They didn't let guests know the entrance/exit was closed so another woman and I walked out the door before players started coming off the bus and a security guard started screaming at us to get on the other side of the barricade. Have someone on the inside ask your paying guests to use another door--it's not that hard to provide polite service when managing an event. The elevators don't seem to be able to manage traffic for hotel guests on upper floors and convention goers. There were really long waits to get to guest rooms.

Yelp
In town celebrating the hubby's bday & I booked this hotel because it was convenient & a good price. I was able to check in ahead of time so by the time we arrived later in the day just had to go to the front desk & get our keys this was easy & convenient. We got room #2911 once settled we enjoyed our stay. Nice lobby area upon entering the hotel, our room was good comfy, decent toiletries & nice views of the city at night. We enjoyed the pool during our down time which was nice since the weather was good for it. We had a late flight & were able to extend our check out time w no problems. Nice hotel, staff was friendly we enjoyed our stay & would recommend it here.

Yelp
The location of this hotel is outstanding, it's close to bourbon street and Ll the nice spots in New Orleans. The restaurant by the lobby was packed on Saturday night and they have a very neat "Pantry" with great variety and fresh sandwiches as well. The room was average, nothing special. The only down side is that the mattress was super uncomfortable, I literally woke up with the worst back ache ever. Overall it's a great hotel and a superb location. I'll definitely stay there next time I am in New Orleans

Yelp
Great location. Walking distance to all the major attractions (bourbon st. French quarter, Jackson square etc) . Nice room with all the amenities. Outdoor pools. If you are Marriott Bonvoy member, Club M (located on first floor lobby) provides breakfast, light dinner and water/beverage 24/7. Streets are busy even at night. But please don't walk alone.

Yelp
I went to New Orleans for a business trip and invited my sister. The hotel was crowded because it was essence festival weekend, so the hotel had to manage a lot of people. The hotel could not figure out who I was, me, and another person had similar names, and they gave me a key to her room. I attempted to go into the room, and she was getting dressed so she almost slammed my hand in the door. We both went downstairs to the lobby and complained and we both got upgraded to suites. The suite was mediocre. The hotel never really figured out who I was, and it was a club in the lobby with loud music and drunk people the entire time. I wasn't so upset about the noise and crowds, because it was Essence Festival weekend, it was the lack of ability of the hotel to manage the situation. Keys didn't work, no room service, rooms need to be updated. Great location, but I would never stay here again
