Thieves? I stayed at a Marriott in February in Australia. I used my Chase Marriott Bonvoy card for payment. Since then, the card was in my possession until July 17 when the front desk required the card "for incidentals." No human has touched this card other than me until July 17 when I handed the card to the front desk at New Orleans Marriott Warehouse Arts District. Now, Sergio told me there was no destination fee when a customer redeemed a Chase Marriott Bonvoy credit card anniversary bonus certificate. However, it showed up on my bill and Sergio was not on staff when I checked out of the hotel. Since Sergio said there was no destination fee, he offered no destination fee perks, like other Marriotts give to Platinum Status customers. One of the other Marriotts nearby gives $10 anytime gift card, 4 $30 Joieful Gift cards, credit to spend nightly onsite, bottled water, admission to a museum. Sergio gave absolutely nothing. Later I asked Sergio at checkin to order a specific vehicle cab for the next morning. He said he would. I went back to the desk after 7, but Sergio was not on duty. An obese uppity woman was on staff. I asked her whether my special request had been done. She said it's not in my record, so I asked her to take care of the special vehicle cab, and she refused. She said come back tomorrow 30 minutes before you want to leave and ask a person on duty to do it. I told her that her refusal to book the cab was bad service on her part, and specialty vehicles are not available at the last minute. You have to ask in advance. She got an uppity attitude with me. On 7/20, that Marriott card, that no human but me had touched over 2 years, but was physically handed to the front desk, was used at Bloomingdales to try to buy some obese ladies' fashions. Fortunately, the Chase computer knew I have never used that card for anything remotely like that so they contacted me. But still, the experience made me feel like I was being retaliated against for challenging the uppity obese girl.
