"Located in the left rear of Baskins Square Mall, this family-owned and operated New Orleans-inspired casual sandwich shop dishes out Cajun and Creole classics like po’boys, muffalettas, gumbo, crawfish etouffee, and jambalaya. There’s also a kids menu of favorites like grilled cheese and hamburgers. While you may not be able to sip on a hurricane or sazerac at the Smokies nod to the Big Easy, beer and wine are available." - Melissa Corbin

Google
Came here during a vacation with family and the owners were outside while we were looking for a place to eat. They told us they have the best food in Gatlinburg and they were right. Almost everything is fried and it’s fried well! Everything came out hot and fresh and tasted so good. The fried pickles were amazing, the hush puppies are seasoned so well, the crab cakes are delicious. I cannot recommend this place enough. The vibe in the restaurant is wonderful as well, decorated very cool and clean. Feels very homey.

If you love authentic Louisiana Cajun food this is your place. We got the crab cake and shrimp po'boys and a order of onion rings, all were delicious. The service was fantastic and very friendly.

Hidden Gem with a Cajun Kick! If you're craving legit Cajun food that slaps harder than your grandma’s wooden spoon, this is the spot. Tucked away off the strip like it’s hiding from tourists (smart move), this place serves up pure Louisiana magic. The food? Divine. Like “I might cry in public” good. The dining room is small—cozy, let’s say—but what it lacks in square footage, the staff more than makes up for in passion and flavor. You can tell they love what they’re doing, and they take that spice game seriously. Pro tip: Bring a dollar to hang on the wall or ceiling. It’s tradition, and also mildly therapeutic. This is officially a must-stop every time I’m in town. Go once and you’ll get it. You might even dream about their gumbo. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Google
Absolutely delicious food. Best sweet tea I had my entire trip to the area. Family owned, great service. If I had the time to eat here again, I would!! So good!!

Google
This might be the best restaurant in Gatlinburg, right here. Being from Mississippi, I've been to Louisiana New Orleans many times, and this is definitely authentic Cajun food, and better than some of the places in NOLA itself. The bread is obviously fresh and authentic, just like in NOLA, perfect for poboys. HUGE portion sizes! The gumbo is fabulous! It's all great. Definitely a hidden gem in Gatlinburg!

My Mom and I came here right at open and it was phenomenal. We ordered the hush puppies, seafood gumbo, and crab cake po boy. Everything was to die for! The hush puppies were super fresh and super tasty. Probably the best hush puppies I've had. The Seafood gumbo was so flavorful and had the perfect balance of spicy and not. We split the crab cake po boy, which was perfect. It was about 9 inches long and split in half was perfect for the 2 of us. I didn't put the sandwich down. Unfortunately, it looked so good we didn't get a photo. The cooks came out to us and asked us how everything was periodically, which I always love to see. We asked some questions and he answered them with good enthusiasm. All of the staff(which I'm pretty sure is a family) here were so sweet to us and all the guests. On top of that, they let you do a thing where you take your own dollar, color it, and staple it to the wall! It was an awesome activity to do and I'm glad my mom and I's names will be up there for a while.

Google
Absolutely amazing food, genuinely some of the best food I ever had. The price was also very good for the amount of food provided and the service was also really nice. Very kind waiting service and gave me more french bread for free when asked, will definitely come back here again and again whenever I visit the area.

Google
This place had me thinking I was in NOLA. SO GOOD. The seafood gumbo was to die for. The vibe of the place felt cozy and fun. They had dollar bills all over the walls, we enjoyed looking at all the art on them. The shrimp poboy was excellent as well. 10/10. Will definitely be coming back here if I’m in gatlinburg again. This place is a MUST try. 10/10 service too.

Yelp
The food was so delicious! The crawfish etouffee and seafood gumbo were fresh made and nicely spiced. The crabcake po'boy and shrimp po'boy were well cooked and the bread had a wonderful crunch and texture. The service was friendly and helpful. Location is small but the fireplace was nice on a cold afternoon.

Indigo B.

Yelp
Exception for area, highly recommend. Off Parkway storefront, must walk into side stores to end. Quaint, small with center fireplace, tv. wonderful during light rains. Ordered 1/2 Muffaleta, okra. Served warm, delicious bread, plenty of leftovers. Shall return.

Tyler S.

Yelp
Small and tucked away in a break off from the main strip in Gatlinburg. This is why apps like Yelp are important--so you can see the unnoticed! Very laid back with a big fireplace and vent, people's taped dollar bills across the entire place--cool but a bit overdone. The service was quaint, a bit lackluster but didn't mind it with how good the food was. Poboys and gumbo are the real stars! Of course inspired by family owners roots, New Orleans was strongly represented here. I will add to a tip, though I know this area is in the depths of the Deep South, even many of us southerners are switching to unsweet tea; not to mention the thousands of international attention Gatlinburg has been receiving. After visiting dozens of other local dining options, I'd say broadening to add unsweet tea would be a good move.

Yelp
At the end of a brick alley through a wooden door was this tiny restaurant. After days of take out and eating out I was craving something with that homemade flavor. Our waitress was really nice and the owner also waited on us. It was not fancy but was definitely what I was wanting. We ordered the gumbo but they sold out the day before so we opted for the seafood stew that had crab and shrimp. Sooooo goooood! The side of garlic bread was a bit salty. There were dollar bills stapled all over the walls. Everything was served on paper plates/ take out containers. I wish there was a location here in OKC. It would be my go-to dinner spot.

Kat C.

Yelp
MUST EAT HERE!!!! This is the definition of a "hole-in-the-wall" - which also means you should NOT miss this place. It is an authentic, small business (no chain restaurant and crap food here!), that is truly a hidden gem. Husband had a shrimp po'boy - it was on point. My half a muffuletta was GIANT! Flavors were amazing. Fried okra is awesome and the onion rings may be some of the best ever. Food was piping hot, which means made to order goodness. Seriously - get here, now!

Kendric W.

Yelp
Food was amazing 10/10, great service and the beers were cold. Unique and inviting atmosphere will definitely be back!

Candy E.

Yelp
This small quaint place was just what we needed for dinner! We came in and was greeted by a New Orleans accent, I knew it was going to be good! I had the red beans and rice. My husband had the shrimp po boy that he absolutely loved. And my son had their chicken tender and fries which he devoured! New Orleans is one of my favorite places and their food is phenomenal! It took me back eating here! Highly recommend!

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Really lovely staff, although I don't understand why you would pass a paper plate and paper bowl of hot gumbo over somebody's head instead of just walking around and putting it on the table. The seafood gumbo was so salty. And the TV was on a very violent show, which isn't really ok for "family" viewing. All that being said, good food, good price, good people.

Dan P.

Yelp
One of my 3 favorite places to eat in Gatlinburg. Excellent fast and friendly service. Delicious food and prices that are very reasonable, if not downright cheap compared to other places around. I have had the gumbo and jambalaya. Today I opted for the Crawfish Etouffee, wonderful! Small place, get here early to get a table.

Mark K.

Yelp
We found this place a few years ago with our kids. We were on a quest for fried okra for our youngest soon. My wife and I returned not only for the okra, but also for the the friendly staff and the cozy decor. They suggested the fried cauliflower which was awesome. i had the crabcake poboy and my wife had the roast beef poboy (with gravy) - both excellent. If you like cozy family-owned places, this place is worth the visit. Keep in mind it is very cozy though. You will have a challenge sitting together with groups larger than 6.

Allan B.

Yelp
Of all the places to eat glad we found this one. Stopped in for lunch left full and with leftovers! After finishing the leftovers the next day we decided we had to go back again before we left to go home. Looking forward to dining here on our next trip to Gatlinburg. Unique cozy place with friendly staff

Brad B.

Yelp
My Son found this absolute gem. When we arrived, the dad, uncle and daughter were running the show up front and were the most welcoming trio I've seen in a venue like theirs. Once the food came out, we fell more in love with the venue. It was delicious. 10/10. Trading stories about NOLA and LA was fantastic. You need to come see them and support them. We won't skip it when we come back.

Sheridon S.

Yelp
Wow, Where to begin? Service was amazing, we felt like family. One of the guys turned on TNMT for our boys, while we got to eat the BEST friggin food around! Our portions were giant, prices were amazing, and we can't wait to make this a part of our annual Trip dining experiences.

Steven R.

Yelp
When we discovered that our first choice for lunch had closed, we tried this restaurant. We were not disappointed. My wife enjoyed her gumbo, my daughter really liked her shrimp po boy sandwich, and I liked my roast beef po boy. Atmosphere and service were average. Overall rating 3 1/2 stars.

Ben T.

Yelp
Had muffuletta sandwich with seafood gumbo. Both incredible authentic New Orleans food!

Cara B.

Yelp
Food was absolutely delicious!!! Cannot wait to go back and try more items. The seafood gumbo with buttered bread was amazing. Fried fish poboy was great too!! Service was excellent. Priced well! Cozy, authentic, eclectic, and quaint spot that will definitely be visiting again when we come back to GB!

Don P.

Yelp
Red Beans and Sausage (sans rice and bread) were awesome. The atmosphere is very comforting. Overall, a great experience.

Robert C.

Yelp
The service and the quality of the gumbo and the chicken jambalaya was excellent. First time we visited guarantee will be back.

Chanelle T.

Yelp
Oh. My. Goodness!!! This place is delicious! It is tucked away at the end of Baskins Square (I believe that's the name of it) across from the village in downtown Gatlinburg. I cannot say one bad thing about the food or staff. We ordered the jambalaya, muffuletta, fries, and a kid's cheeseburger. The kid's cheeseburger was a very good size and came with a side of fries. The jambalaya arrived piping hot. Neither me nor my son could keep our spoons out of the bowl. And the bread served alongside of it was very fresh and tasty. Now, the muffuletta... it's huge (even the half portion) and absolutely delectable! At first I was weary that my son wouldn't like the olive salad on it but both of us agreed that it was delicious and different than anything we've had before. This was both of our first times trying a muffuletta... it definitely will not be our last!! Nor will it be our last time visiting this quaint New Orleans Sandwich shop. I even remarked to my husband and other two kids that couldn't join us today that we may have to return tomorrow. The staff was also very friendly. I would give more than 5 stars if I was able!!

Mechelle J.

Yelp
Came in for lunch, waited to be seated and waitress working had a huge attitude, 6 empty tables avail and said the wait on food was a hour and they were "family owned" making us feel like a inconvenience. I'm sorry but customer service right when you walk into a establishment should be much better then greeted with a attitude. We ended up going next door to Tenn Jed's , the food was amazing and the customer service was great! The owners at teds are super friendly. Don't waste your money or time on a place like New Orleans where they treat you rudely right when you walk in.

Amber L.

Yelp
We come every year! This year we even went twice! There is no where better to eat in the city!!!! Service as always was amazing! 5 star every time!

Rebecca B.

Yelp
My family comes here each time we visit the area. It is our favorite dining spot. The service is always great. We love the atmosphere. The dollar bills people decorate for the wall are fun to look at. The food.. I don't even know where to start. I try something different each time. Their gumbo a few days ago has me wanting to drive the 8 hours back to have some more. Highly recommend this place.

Jackson L.

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches with great ambience and kind workers and fast service with some of the best po boys I've ever tasted

Cheryl H.

Yelp
Excellent food! Take a min and find this place. The po'boys were as good as they are in New Orleans!!

Rachel K.

Yelp
Small stop off the main drag. 100% authentic with amazing flavors. This is exactly the type of place I look for when visiting from out of town.

Jacob J.

Yelp
I believe the owner was stating he grew up on a boat in Nola so that detail made us happy, he's got some knowledge of what a decent po'boy is comprised of. Which in fact is what's best of their menu. We tried a cup of shrimp & crab gumbo (decent, but with a dash of any hot sauce - better.) Also tried both the fried fish po'boy & shrimp. Shared by three. We were thrilled, compliments to the kitchen. Glad my chica, M'Elena (muh-lena) suggested the spot.

Gina T.

Yelp
This little hidden restaurant is also a hidden gem. The service come with an authentic Nee Orleans accent and the ambiance with a little fire place in the middle, dollars staples all over the walls, made it cozy and quaint. Lastly, the food....was top notch. My son said the onion rings were the best he's ever had and my daughter said the cheeseburger was the best she's ever had. I had the ham muffuletta and the olive spread was to die for. Cannot wait to return! Highly recommend!

Cheryl C.

Yelp
On a Saturday at 5 PM, despite the fact that the hours are posted online that they are open, they were closed two hours before they were supposed to be. Two other people walked up while we were there. Also coming to purchase food and were frustrated as we were. You're in a tough spot people and that's how you do business? And reading your reviews and your response to reviews, I'm kind of glad I ended up not being able to go. I would verify by a phone call although some of the reviews that wouldn't even matter, before we try going to this place. There are lots of other great places with Food around, stick to one of those.

Richard N.

Yelp
This shop has the most amazing New Orleans style food. This is a must visit on all of our trips into the Gatlinburg area. Our personal favorite is the muffuletta, but a close second is The Ferdi, which we tried for the first time today. The staff here is so friendly and helpful. You have to try the food to fully appreciate the quality and taste.

Matt S.

Yelp
Totally legit New Orleans food. Everything was delicious and cooked to order. Portions very large and flavors authentic. Stop in, you will not be disappointed. Thanks for a great lunch!

Neal S.

Yelp
Second time visiting this hole-in-the wall sandwich spot. The food was absolutely amazing. Best quality we had on the entire trip. The hush puppy appetizer is a must, as well as the crawfish and jambalaya. My wife had the crabcake Poboy, and it was delicious. Food was out in minutes, and the service was amazing throughout the entire visit.

Melody K.

Yelp
Oh my word, I never imagined finding a little slice of NOLA in Gatlinburg TN, but it's here! I got the seafood Gumbo and my husband got the fat Tuesday po boy with fries. Both were scrumptious, and abundantly portioned! The bread I had was magical, just like NOLA! Crunchy crust, and melt in your mouth inside. The Gumbo was just spicy enough, and perfectly browned. The po boy was huge, served in a delicious gravy, with lots of meat, and also magical bread, lol! Very cozy inside, and great, friendly staff. Will probably go again before this trip is over!

Jennifer M.

Yelp
YOU MUST STOP HERE! Unpopular opinion: Gatlinburg is the worst type of tourist trap. The one shining star is New Orleans Sandwich shop. It's off the beaten path. Run by legit Cajuns. The food is authentic, delicious Cajun food. The gumbo was the star, but the Poboy was a close second. The staff were all friendly despite being clearly busy. They made sure everyone was promptly served. If you are in the area you must drop in for a meal!

Camille S.

Yelp
We got dinner from here because Tennessee jeds wouldn't serve us even though they were open till 5 and I am glad we did everything was delicious and we are happy now not to have eaten at the other place!

Jose C.

Yelp
The ambience is great, it's a little hole in the wall. It's got an amazing little fire pit or fireplace to keep everybody warm. We had the seafood gumbo which was delicious! If we ever see ourselves back in the area we'll definitely be visiting New Orleans Sandwich Company. Service was exceptional!

Jeff L.

Yelp
Nice change of pace from all the tourist trap places. You kind of have to look for it, but you'll be glad you found it. Family affair, obviously from Louisiana. Paper plates/bowls but that's ok. Food was great. Seafood gumbo! Also had a roast beef sandwich with gravy (huge). Nice and cozy. Dollar bills all over the walls. Very reasonable.

W P.

Yelp
We absolutely LOVE Amy & Don and this incredible restaurant! We had the seafood gumbo, Fish Po-Boy & fried shrimp Po-Boy! The staff was great & the food was the BEST Louisiana cuisine I've ever had! We will make this a regular stop in Gatlinburg!

Natalie M.

Yelp
Great friendly atmosphere and service along within flavorful food. Nice stop while visiting Gatlinburg.

Todd M.

Yelp
We had heard about this place someone and found ourselves hungry for lunch in Gatlinburg and it was a few minutes walk so we took a shot. We are so glad we did. The food and hospitality were both phenomenal! We will definitely be back. The half muffaletta was the best I have ever had. The kids shrimp plate was tasty and huge and the turkey clubs were delicious and huge too. Everyone there took an interest in our family especially our kids and my elderly parents. We couldn't have asked for a better lunch experience!

Cori A.

Yelp
Do. Not. Sleep. On this place! Being from Louisiana, I'm always hesitant to try New Orleans food far from the city but this place didn't disappoint at all. We got the hushpuppies, fried pickles, seafood gumbo and roast beef poboy sandwich. All were beyond phenomenal. It's tucked away into the busy parkway but we were able to sit right down on a busy Saturday!

Ashley S.

Yelp
The restaurant doesn't disappoints!! Every time we come, fresh hot and wonderful! Gumbo, po boys, fried okra.

Steve R.

Yelp
Our party of 12 really wanted to try this place, we walked right in 1/2 of our party sat down. Where we were met by the waitress who refused to give us service. She stated we are not serving large parties we are short staffed. Very understandable, when I told her we had no issue sitting separately into a parties of 4, that wasn't good enough she chose to start screaming across the bar still refusing us. There were only 4 tables occupied inside. We did all enjoy this place 8 years ago. But at this point we felt attacked.

Tara O.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I ate here on our first trip to Gatlinburg. I've been to New Orleans several times, he never has. We saw them bring out an order for another table and I noticed that it was being served on paper plates. I pointed that out to him and told him we are about to have great food. And I was 100% correct. The seafood gumbo is the best I've ever had, surpassing any restaurant in New Orleans proper. Though the owners are from New Orleans, so it figures. On our trip to Gatlinburg this year, we had a few must do things and getting back and having some amazing seafood gumbo was top of our list. So much so that we bought a second cooler and bowls to buy extra to take back to Michigan with us! The gumbo has big chunks of seafood and a rich and spicy taste that is out of this world. They also make a mean muffaletta that is HUGE! While this restaurant is tucked away, it is well worth hunting it down. Very friendly owners!

Connie H.

Yelp
This is the best place to eat in Gatlinburg! The food is delicious the service is amazing and we always have a great time!! Love love love this place! Have to go there every time we go to Gatlinburg.

Rob W.

Yelp
Let me tell you now and I hope you are listening. This place located just off the main drag in Gatlinburg is awesome. If you like or have never had Cajun food or just want to eat something spectacular with the nicest and most friendly people you gotta visit this establishment. Authentic New Orleans food as verified by a former New Orleans resident (my wife) absolutely says it is like eating in the Big Easy itself. I had seafood gumbo and my wife had shrimp po-boy I haven't seen my wife that happy for years. No kidding, this place is the best and we plan to return from North Carolina soon.

Theresa T.

Yelp
If i could give this place infinite stars i would. This restaurant needs to be featured on some type of national television because it is life changing Lexi, the hostess, is the definition of a southern belle w/ southern charm. She was super sweet and very attentive to our table! We had the shrimp poboy, seafood gumbo, and the fat Tuesday ferdie sandwich w/ roast beef and turkey There's so many amazing things to say about the food so I'll just do some quick highlights: the bread was CRISP, the flavors? UNMATCHED. The service and environment? Feels like you're right at home eating a home cooked meal. If you're ever in the area. The ONE restaurant you need is New Orleans Sandwiches. The portion sizes are actually MASSIVE but not heavy that it will make you want to fall asleep. All i can say is that this restaurant is the freaking HEART AND SOUL of gatlinburg. A must do for anyone and everyone. This is a family owned restaurant- it's mainly 4 people Lexi- her grandmother, dad, and uncle- all who were extremely welcoming and friendly

Whitney H.

Yelp
Quick service and seating. This place is a literal hole in the wall, but the best ones are. It definitely has a down and dirty dive bar vibe. I think for the size of the po'boys and the quality of the food, the prices are fair. We each got a sandwich and soda and am order of hush puppies for around $40.

David O.

Yelp
Every place on Saturday night was crazy busy with 1hr waits, so we found this New Orleans restaurant with great reviews with immediate seating. It was a bit hard to find since it's tucked away at the back of an alley, but it worked out for us. I ordered their shrimp poboy and fries and my wife got the crabcakes, fried mushrooms, and an order of sweet potato fries. The shrimp poboy was amazing. The bread they use for it is very crispy and light, compared to places with bread that's more dense which takes away from the sandwich. The shrimp was very big and tasted great as well and the sandwich was dressed exactly as a poboy should be: lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayo. It was one of the best poboys I've had. The fries were just normal fries, so you could probably skip them considering how big and stuffed their poboys are. They do not skimp at all. The crab cakes were great as well. Very crabby! You get a choice of sauces: tarter, cocktail, or remolaude. The remolaude sauce tasted great, so I would recommend that. The fried mushrooms were also very delicious, but let them cool for a few minutes or you're gonna have a bad time. The sweet potato fries were awesome. You can get cinnamon and sugar on them, which I like, but they can also put it on the side for weirdos like my wife. Everything was fresh and delicious. Their poboys are huge and will fill you up unless you're Mike Chen from the YouTube channel Strictly Dumplings. I'm glad we found this place and will def come back when in Gatlinburg again! It's also family owned and they were all very nice and attentative. They are from New Orleans as well, so you know you're getting the real deal!

Dale B.

Yelp
Great food! Menu was appropriate with about 25 selections. Service was very good. People were friendly. Grandma was cooking in the back! Dad was off to LA to get fresh seafood! Only thing I would do different is that I prefer a darker roux! That is a personal preference only! Food was outstanding!
