"Also known as New Phoenix Seafood Restaurant, this spot is the most recent and far flung of the Sunset Park banquet halls, offering dim sum in the morning until mid-afternoon. Yes, dim sum still cruises around on carts, and afterwards a seafood heavy menu kicks in, with plenty of pork, too. When you leave, the owner is likely to approach you and affably thank you for coming." - Robert Sietsema

"This newer banquet hall on the southern edge of Sunset Park is in the vanguard of dim sum development, and it still gloriously pushes them around on carts. As the name suggests, the host is affable and will likely welcome you himself when you step into the restaurant for the first time. The evening menu fills out with expensive seafood among other Cantonese and Hong Kong flourishes, but the dim sum is more affordable." - Robert Sietsema, Erika Adams

"There is no more affable dim sum parlor in the city than the cavernous Affable Eatery — where the owner is apt to step up and welcome you with a clap on the back upon your first visit. The dim sum is the best in town, with rice noodle rolls gooier and more voluminous than elsewhere, braised chicken feet sweeter and cooked longer, and slight innovations on the canon like extra garlic in the steamed spare ribs with black bean sauce." - Robert Sietsema, Eater Staff

I've dined here multiple times with family and friends for dim sum and lunch. It's a popular place. The food is good as well. I like that they have a variety of dishes for people with diet restrictions. I don't eat pork, beef or lamb and was still able to enjoy my meal. I ate shumai with shrimp, eggplant stuffed with shrimp, and noodles. My favorite desserts were the sesame ball with sweetened black sesame paste inside and egg tarts.

The food here is delicious. We came here for Mother’s day and we were not disappointed. The staff was accommodating with our large party sitting at one table. They were friendly and served the food to each of our plates super quickly. The combination food came out at a decent pace (not too fast and not too slow). We came back for Thanksgiving eve dinner. We ordered the combination meal and were not given a roast pig because we did not order it early enough, even though it was a decent amount of time.

I come here often and the place is great. Prices are slightly better than the other dimsum areas nearby and the food is decent although I feel like the options are a bit more limited. I do wish that there were more servers for the dim sums though.

Morning brunch, grabbed some dim sum with brother. Food was good, waitress stroll around with dim sum and ask if you would like any, very kind and nice service

Google
Better Cantonese cooking elsewhere. They score points for creative plating and food is not bad, my low rating is due to lack of service. Regardless I had three VIPs in my party, management did bare minimum on the service and didn't even respect us even after gouging me with a $1,400+ dining bill. It was my grandmother's 94th birthday, we booked the private Karaoke room. Terrible service and the food was only so so. Affable is laughable. Skip it!!

An absolute jewel in the neighborhood for foodies who dig Dim Sum (small plates). A hot spot on 65th street to sip tea, connect with others and enjoy tasty treats. You can pick your dues from one of the steam carts, order dishes from the kitchen or walk to a bar to pick up a plate. A grand banquet that could fit up to hundreds, it is usually packed on late morning and early afternoon. Friends and families gather and the open hall could be quite noisy when filled. I have been coming for years and it has yet to disappoint. A great place for my kids to discover the beauty and history of chinese cuisine.

We came here because East Harbor was closed. The food quality is slightly worse at Affable, but serviceable. Selection of dim sum is not that good. Edit- Food appears to have much improved since I went last time. Selection is still poor, not too many steamed buns but price is reasonable. Came back in late March 2021 and they're open for dinner! If you come early there isn't that many people (5pm).

Here is a little bit pricey. Noon time on the weekends is very crowded unless going at the opening time. Food is good. Service is not bad. Good for Chinese catering with over 500 people. They also have two new huge LED screen to show whatever you want to put on. No parking lot or valet parking. They also have private rooms with different size.

Yelp
We attended a celebration here last Saturday. We got a private room cuz there were many of us. The service was good and the food was good... especially the black sesame balls. They actually had enough black sesame filling in it this time. The mango coconut hello was delicious as well. The dim sum dishes were good. The garlic chicken dish was a bit pricey though. I think it was $50 for whole chicken. Have you dined here before? Have you tried any of the dishes I posted about?

Yelp
I was pretty hesitant about this place initially when I walked through the glass door with a letter C health grade next to it...However at the insistence of my Aunt we stayed. The ambiance was typical of a dim sum place with its crystal chandeliers and cloth upholstery and chit chat everywhere. The service really was affable. Some of the cart ladies would leave their cart for you to go get another dish from elsewhere. Despite the C grade, the food was good. Of note, the reddish rice roll seen in my photo is apparently what this place is known for. Also, at the time of this review, my stomach is still feeling all right. If I get stomach troubles, I'll downgrade to a 3-star later. Would come here again with my family.

Yelp
Great, spacious restaurant for dim sum, dinner, and events! The Alaskan crab is absolutely delicious here (the fried rice with the crab goods is heavenly). This is my go to spot for dim sum for their Cheung fun, but all the dim sum options are solid The staff is always friendly and helpful. They always have a smile on their face.

Yelp
So I had to think of a Chinese place to book Constance's first birthday dinner and decided to go with Affable Eatery. I got there after work and knowing it was my first time, I was lost. I was like oh shit, hopefully I find this place on time because everyone in my family got there already except me because my job was far away from there! So I arrived to the front of the place and saw that the name of the place was not Affable Eatery and I'm like what!? It was another name so I made a turn to go back to my original path to see if it was somewhere else but the map on my phone said Affable Eatery was right where I was at! So then I opened the doors and was I correct because I saw my family and Constance! We were situated in a round table covered with a red cloth and a glass wheel to spin around so that we can move the dishes around without having to pass or get up. So we got mayo shrimp with broccoli, soy sauce chicken , tofu, fried fish, lamb chops and they were so good. My favorite was the lamb chops and mayo shrimp!!! Every time I go to a dinner event, I always make sure I get those 2 plates. It was very empty at the restaurant too! Only few families were there. Very large and spacious with a lot of privacy between tables. There is also a mini stage for a large party. The bathrooms were at the back of the place and only 3 stalls. Very clean with a lot of tissue so that was a plus. Lot of tissue and very clean bathrooms is a must for me. So thank god for that. Lots of nice chandeliers too and very quiet ambience since there's no music and just few families from afar. Also there are fresh fish tanks so you know your fish is fresh! Good place to eat! I recommend!

Yelp
Was in the mood for dimsum and went to this place as it is one of the most decent ones in Brooklyn. No waitime on a Sunday at around 10:30am. Ordered the classic dishes and my favorite ones were the fried dough rice roll, the steamed veggie dumplings, the chicken feet, the shrimp fried rolls, the spare ribs and the black sesame mochi. Really good dimsum in Brooklyn, good service, but be prepared to wait if you are coming with a big group on the weekends. It usually becomes less busy at around 11am.

Yuming C.

Yelp
The flavor of the food was decent, but the selection was poor. We also found a hair in one of the dishes. After our meal, we were waiting to see if any dessert were coming out, but after 20 minutes, we gave up on dessert. The service was not that good either as they only changed out our plates once throughout our entire meal.

Yelp
Was here for a wedding. The place is big! It held more than 400 people! Staffs are friendly, the food were delicious. Would try to visit this restaurant for another occasion!

Yelp
12.21.23@12:10pm Walk in table for 4. Got seating right away cuz us weekday. Food was not hot enough. Less than 5mins it got cold already. Services of floor staff was great but those pushing out the foods keep trying have you take the cart stuff.

Shirley H.

Yelp
I came for dinner for an evening event. The seatings are a bit tight and it's bright inside. The supervisor that served us wasn't very professional, he wasn't attentive and rushed. The food was simple, but not spectacular. The bok choy with mushroom looked so fancy with the gold on top, good if you want nice picture, but it taste like the usual dish. The the salt and pepper pork chop and fish were fine. The fried chicken wasn't very good; it taste like chicken that was premade the day before. The chicken and beef in the celery tasted homemade. We also had noodles and rice to end the night and it was fine. What wowed me is the red bean soup in the end, it was thick with sago!

Yelp
Solid spot for traditional dim sum in Brooklyn. My party of 3 waited only about 10 min for a table last Saturday around 1pm. At first there didn't seem to be too many carts/food options, but they slowly came around and we got a pretty decent selection. We were so impressed by the baked pork buns - we regret not ordering more to bring home. There were also some non-traditional-looking items like the pink shrimp rolls pictured here which were delicious as well. Soft on the outside, and crispy in the inside. Love that they always seem to have a "special" of the day, to keep things interesting in this otherwise standard dim sum experience. I'd definitely recommend, but make sure you bring your Canto-speaking friends!

Jessica K.

Yelp
Came to AffableEatery for Christmas dinner and everything was spectacular. Food came out in a timely manner as there were only a few tables being served. Many post dinner desserts were included today- fruit, taro tang sui, malaysian roll cakes and sugar sponge cake! The vegetables were so fresh as well. This was our first time ordering this eggplant dish and it was delicious! Will be coming back for dim sum soon and dinner eventually!

Kevin Z.

Yelp
The good: there was a 30 minute wait which I was surprised about, however, the it was worth it as we got a big table for just three of us. Food was excellent, inexpensive, and had great portions. The bad: without Cantonese language skills, it's hard to communicate exactly what you want, and talking to the cart ladies will be tough. Definitely missed some food because we couldn't understand everything. The waiters were not particularly attentive and you have to flag someone over (though this is somewhat normal for dim sum). The ugly: the bathrooms were FILTHY. Hopefully it doesn't translate over to their kitchen, because the food was super delicious...

Michelle L.

Yelp
I came for a friend's birthday on a Friday night and there was plenty of space. It was maybe a group of 15 of us and they put us in a separate room. There's a karaoke system. The food came out pretty quickly, and portions are huge. Seven of us shared six dishes and didn't finish it all. It's easiest if someone can order in Cantonese. Servers were nice. There's an 8% fee for credit cards. It's near ktv spots. There was street parking available.

Yelp
I've been to Affable Eatery (and its predecessor, New Spring Garden) a lot over the years. I can't even count the number of visits for dim sum, family dinners, birthday parties, weddings, and other special occasions (including some parties we've hosted). Out of all the big Cantonese spots in the area, this is definitely the one we've frequented the most. I visited recently for dim sum, my first time there since before the pandemic, and other than all the staff wearing masks, it was almost like COVID didn't exist. Full tables, carts loaded with food roaming around, loud and bustling, all the same as before. I've mostly been avoiding crowded indoor places since my kid can't be vaccinated yet, so I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and not crowded it felt despite being busy. Maybe it's different on the weekends, but on a weekday morning, it was far better than I was expecting, given my memories of the tightly-packed dim sum crowds pre-pandemic. Since we usually come here for big family meals, I don't really do any of the ordering, so I can't help much on any actual dish names. But my favorites of the dim sum dishes we got this time (and some that I usually like there) were the chive dumplings and the taro cake. We also got a noodle dish with chicken, peppers, and pickled vegetables that was delicious. No idea what it's called, but if other family members aren't doing the ordering, I often order by photo anyway. I wasn't sure any of these large banquet halls would survive the pandemic, but I'm really glad to see that they (and others) are open and are still serving delicious food. One day, the parties and banquets will be back, but until then, at least we can still have dinners and dim sum!

Yelp
Have come to this restaurant for many dinner events the past years. It was my first time having dim sum on a Sunday. What a great experience! Restaurant has been nicely renovated and very spacious and open. Large flat screen TV that's used for visual advertisement. It was pretty packed but tables were nicely distanced so it didn't feel crowded. Staff was very friendly. Loved how the staff washed all the plates and cups with hot water in front of you to make sure they were "sanitized". We got our staples which included chicken feet, sesame balls, sesame rolls, tripes, chives dumplings, shrimp rice rolls, bbq pork buns, coconut and taro custard, etc. The chicken feet cooked with ginger was great and my first time having it made that way. Everything tasted amazing! Too bad we had to trek it to this part of Brooklyn as there aren't this size of dim sum restaurants in Chinatown. Would love to come back again when in the hood.

Jason L.

Yelp
Came here for a feast. The steamed shrimp were smooth and tasty. Beef was okay. Scallion soup is best with chilli sauce. Shrimp with broccoli were great. Lobster and the rest are okay. Some are little salty. Plus a bow of rice, brings more appetite. Best to eat with a large group.

Lisa H.

Yelp
Favorite dimsum place in Brooklyn. Spacious. Good food and fast service. Best time to go is 1030/11 :)

Jennie T.

Yelp
I would say after most of Manhattan Chinatown dim sum restaurants closed down, it was delightful to eat delicious authentic dimsum again. Come. Poor services in bad reviews didn't happen when we went. They immediately remove empty dishes and replaced dirty plates during dim sum.

Olivia W.

Yelp
Seriously, Brooklyn is hands down the best Brooklyn to get dim sum. Why would you ever go elsewhere huhhhh??? Come here to meet your extended Cantonese uncles and aunties :) We came here around 2pm and they still had dim sum!! Even though there weren't a lot of cart ladies coming around, we were able to have the chefs take our orders instead. We've been trained our whole life for this ya know ! My favorite dim sum has got to be the shuimai and chicken feet. The shrimp was huge in the shuimai, which was quite rare in Manhattan restaurants. You really got to be trained to like chicken feet and thankfully I've been trained all my life for this. The medicinal chicken feet here has so much flavor. If you like the taste of Chinese herbs, you'll like this me! Gotta give a shout-out to the employees for constantly refilling our tea pot! Sorry we probably increased your gas bill that day

LoveToEat Z.

Yelp
Most variety in NYC. You can find 蛋散 here too. Tables are arranged pretty good distance.

Yelp
The first time, we dined during my mom's birthday last year they double charged my card and my brother's card. Yet we gave this place the benefit of the doubt. Today, the food was good, but double check the total your check each time.

Karry L.

Yelp
First time venturing out for dimsum since pandemic, came on a late Saturday afternoon 2pm, it was not crowded at all, tables are spaced out, we were given a sheet and circle the items we want, it came out pretty quick and fresh, noodles are still streamy. Chicken feet abit soggy, and short ribs w too much pepper, my belly was happy! When the egg tarts were being offered by a waiter on a tray to every table when it first came out, we immediately took it. I miss the cart-pushing ladies back in the days, but this definitely fix my dimsum crave for a long time!

Yelp
Disclaimer: this review is strictly related to a recent wedding I attended at Affable Eatery. My family and I came here this past weekend for the relatives wedding. The food was less than mediocre. We had the usual Chinese banquet fare but the only dish out of all 10 that was good was the fish. The abalone was too chewy and the noodles were so soggy. Additionally, the service was HORRIBLE. We asked them for the cracking tool for the lobster claws and the waiter said they didn't have them available. HOW IN THE WORLD IS THAT POSSIBLE? We badgered them some more because it was far too difficult to get the meat out from the lobsters with our bare hands and the waiter went on to try to convince us that the lobster claw is too large for the cracking tool. We told them that we'd like to try and that's when they brought it out. They also said they don't have any other beers to offer us besides Corona Extra. And then the Corona Extra "ran out" of their stock half way through the wedding. Absolutely absurd. The entire wedding experience left a sour taste in my mouth because the wait staff were so damn rude. I understand that the service charge is most likely included in the price of the entire wedding but c'mon - shouldn't you want your patrons to at least have an enjoyable time so they will return?

Sandy Y.

Yelp
Probably not the best dim sum and dinner restaurant. But still very affordable and Tasty. Service was great. Treated us nicely and free desserts.

John D.

Yelp
Dined with my family and it was nice, but some days such as weekends and popular holidays, it would be packed, so be wary of waiting time for a spot. Overall the food was delicious such as the shrimp dumplings (hau gow), chicken feet which I tried and so saucy. I was overwhelmed wit the choices and can't describe them all. Overall I had a great time with my family when eating at this restaurant.

Jeannie T.

Yelp
This 1 star review is for their lack of service and poor management. Service - 1 star Food - 3 stars Ambiance - none I came here on a super busy Saturday night (12/23/17) - and that was totally taken into account when writing this review. The restaurant can easily pack in 1000 people with no problem -- plenty of space. The mirror glass updates in decor (slightly tacky, formerly called 'Spring Garden' I'm told) and the fancy chandeliers couldn't save this place. I was here to celebrate my Grandma's 94th Birthday and my mom booked the private room w/ the Karaoke setup. We had about 26 people at our dinner. Dinner was off to a decent start (presentation wise) but then things got worse as the night went on. The restaurant was undoubtedly overwhelmed - two small weddings and a part of the regular dining room was still open to walk in patrons! That said, we started with 1-3 dedicated waiters for our private party (two large tables of 13). Before even our last entrée was served, we barely had ONE waiter that stayed. Service was lacking and terrible even after we commented to management - twice! Given all the commotion in this place, you would figure management would direct the wait staff properly to serve each party/each section. They did no such thing. To note, a Chinese celebratory custom, my grandma was handing out "good luck/well wishes" via red envelopes to the staff that was on hand servicing us. The buzz got out and then a slew of wait staff NOT serving us by the way, came into our room to say hi/Happy Birthday and pretended to "serve" us for like 2 minutes (not exaggerating here) - just to get the red envelope ($) and left. Never to be seen again. WTH?! I was further disappointed when we completed our 11 course banquet style meal and no one was around to clear the plates or the dirty napkins. One of our guests got so upset, she packed it all up and threw it in a plastic bag just so we could take photos and serve the birthday cake on a semi clear table. Seriously?! I have never been so disgusted with the behavior of the staff. AND upon request to have someone attend to us as our 1 waiter disappeared, no one friggin' came. I blame management and the wait staff for their despicable behavior and lack of service. SHAME ON YOU!! No one did their job and some faked it all the way through. I don't care that my mom knows the owner and the management - as did three of our guests who frequent this joint, what kind of service was this? When the cat's away, the mice will play. We spent over $1,400+ on this banquet and it was a disaster. The food was barely at par - better to look at than to actually eat. Even the most expensive entree, the Dungeness Crab - scored/cut perfectly but quite a few pieces were overcooked and stuck to the shell. The signature house fried rice w/ the fancy ingredients...blah. No flavor. Thumbs down. Even the chicken two ways was sub par. Not much meat. The plus was the fish entrée, although in the photos, all you will see is a plate of scallions...yep, there was a cut up fish under there but you couldn't see it. The only thing good was the lobster salad (oddly presented alongside a glass with live goldfish) and the T-bone steak. I will NEVER come back here. Cannot even recommend it based on the food. I've had better in a cheaper and less fancy looking establishment. Truly a disappointing dining experience.

Amy L.

Yelp
This is my go to spot for dim sum with my family in Brooklyn! It's huge inside, but will most definitely get crowded if you don't arrive by 11-11:30am. You could wait anywhere from 15-45 minutes depending on the crowd. They also have a small parking lot across the street which is convenient. The food is pretty good quality and decently priced! Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area!

Ray G.

Yelp
The food is amazing, service is great, there are many people working hard. When I went there, the decor was amazing. I really recommend this place!

Mei L.

Yelp
It is a common Chinese banquet / dim sum restaurant. We went to a wedding and food was ok. It is a huge place and they tries to decor the place elegantly. The service is hit or miss because at the beginning we had a terrible waiter then they changed to a better one. We had: soup, cold cut appetizer, chicken, fish, ball shrimp with broccoli, beef with vegetables, mushroom & veggies, lobster, noodles, fried rice, and dessert. Overall it was good.

Diana T.

Yelp
Have been ordering take out from this place during covid. I was kind of surprise that the food still taste pretty similar to before covid. Their cashier has a huge window as a barrier which feels nice and safe when you pay. The dining area is just restricted to the middle which is kind of spread out but I'm not really sure if it is really 6 feet apart.

Lily T.

Yelp
Very good dimsum place but was super busy and crowded on a weekend morning which was the one time I visited with the family and some friends. I noticed though that the goodies from the carts did keep coming by so there's not much wait for your order. They offer Dimsum 7days a week until 3pm. Food was very good especially the durian pastry-which is much better tasting than the Manhattan's Dimsum places. Other items i like are the shumai and beef balls. Place is huge and gets packed so that alone should tell you how good the place is. Prices are ok and wait staff attentive enough. I would absolutely go back but maybe not on a weekend morning.

Shirley Y.

Yelp
Cleanliness...eh so so to no comment, typical chinese dim sum/dinner place. Bathroom, unsure just cus i avoid public bathroom in ny as much as possible. Dim sum, meh, so so. There's one time I have dim sum here on the weekend and my cousin asked for coffee but they said they don't do coffee/milk tea on weekends. Kinda weird...they said they are too busy on the weekends (don't know what kind of excuse that is or maybe that waiter is bs-ing me). That was a while back, not sure if they change that. I come here for dinner more than dim sum (mostly for wedding and company dinner). According to what people said, it's cheaper to host dinner here. Not sure if that's true. Dinner is okay. The only thing I found interesting was this fried milk dish. It's chewy like mochi. Some dinner items are good and some are so so. Service is ok. Don't expect too much good service during dim sum hours. For dinner, waiter seem nicer, they joke around chit chat with you.

Ciara M.

Yelp
Went here for a dinner banquet and it was nice. It was an interesting place for events. The servers here are nice to us. I can't quite remember the full menu of that dinner, but the roast pig was pretty good. The Chinese herbal chicken soup is something I would love to have again. It was such an interesting acquired taste. I would like to come back here and try their dimsum during lunch time.

Fion L.

Yelp
My first time here was on the weekend of Chinese New Year during the busiest lunch hour and on top of that there was an hour long lion dance performance. Even amongst the crowds and loudness the staff were very accommodating and received good service from start to end. The interior is a banquet style space with decent interior decoration. There were dim sum carts going around the restaurant, the cutest piece of dim sum was the pig design on the bao. The dim sum on the cart were served room temperature, there is also another menu to order from if you do not want dim sum. The restaurant also had a private room that had two huge round tables.

Seelia Y.

Yelp
The dim sum at Affable Eatery is as good as it gets! It's the best and largest dim sum spot in Brooklyn. To be honest, I didn't used to like coming here because it wasn't great, but that was back when Affable Eatery was called New Spring Garden. Now, this is my go-to spot! If you're coming for dim sum on the weekends, you best go early because there will be a line and a wait. If you have a small party, the wait might be pretty quick, but not so much if you have a larger party. Keep in mind that if you feel like you haven't been seated and they've called parties who came after you, you should let the hostess know! The staff are usually very accommodating and nice once you let them know what's going on. I've seen people, usually the elderly, bring their own tea and ask the staff to make it for them and the staff have always done so. The restaurant also has regulars and it's cute when the staff greet the regulars like their own family. Interior of Affable Eatery is large and spacious. There is a giant tv screen on each of the 3 walls and it usually goes through a cycle of Affable Eatery's advertisements for special dinner menus or a Chinese tv show. Just about everything on the tv is in Chinese. Dim sum here is fresh and tasty. Out of all of the dim sum restaurants I've been to, Affable has been the most consistent. Their dim sum is always hot and cooked well. One of the hot items are the Mexican char siu baos which is bread with a sugar cookie layer on top and it's filled with char siu. If you see them, get one right away because it WILL be sold out. Don't be afraid and just try whatever looks or smells good! As for dinner, I've been here multiple times and the dinner service is good as well. If you have a large party or you have a specific purpose for a dinner such as a birthday, make sure you book your tables in advance. There are multiple private rooms and I think only 2 are large rooms. The shrimp balls with mayo, broccoli, and candied walnuts are always good and their whole fish is good too. Peking Ribs or Peking Pork Chop are tender and the sauce is good! Sweet and sour pork is always a safe option. If you want recommendations on what vegetables to order for dinner, you can always ask the server on what the kitchen has and they usually know it by heart. Overall, I'm always impressed by how friendly the staff are and the consistent good quality of food Affable Eatery has.

Yelp
We came here for the Chinese New Year dim sum brunch time. It was packed as usual but since the place is huge the line does move smoothly but caution if you have a large group ( anything more than 6) then the wait can be a long one. The food was good and bathroom is clean and they refill hot water to my tea pot quiet often when I turn my tea cap over ( signaling I need more water refills). I say this is great considering how busy it was. When waiting note that the number is shouted out via a PA system and if you don't know Chinese or Cantonese then you are out of luck. There were a good amount of variety of dim sum perhaps it is because of the new year but overall great experience.

Serena W.

Yelp
Really great food and very reasonable prices, we topped out at 125 dollars for 8 people including the tip and we were even able to bring home some of the leftovers, there's a bit of a wait if you're coming for the dim sum in the morning/ early afternoon so just be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes but once you sit down, food is available almost immediately.

Mary C.

Yelp
The lobster with rice dish was super good! The soup was also really good compared to the other Chinese restaurants I've been too. Everything else was ok and basic. They ran out of Peking Duck and forgot to bring us our lobster salad so that was kinda upsetting. They did give us free bao for dessert. The buns were super cute and yummy

Yelp
Favorite thing here is the thick noodles with beef... delicious, chewy, and couldnt stop eating. I dont know the exact name of the dish but they were awesome. The shrimp dumplings were also pretty good just the right amount of filling to wrapper. I have had a lot of dim sum in the area and this one is solid. Great prices too so if you are trying to have a filling cheap lunch come here.

Yelp
Was here for a family wedding. Food was ok. Service was okay- towards the end of the wedding, they were rushing us out. Cleaning everything in front of us. There was a waitress that was really nice and had good customer service. She was serving the groom's side of the table. My main reason for the 1 star was that they charged the wedding party $1000 for 3 dishes for the MC table which is ridiculous & charged another $100 something for 2 take outs that were supposedly ordered from one of the guest. If a guest placed an order shouldn't they advise the wedding party? What if everyone ordered some take out? Makes no sense. Horrible.

Yelp
Although not the same as prepandemic din sum, I'm thrilled they're still open for business. The dim sum was fresh and delicious as always. The menu is slightly more limited since now you must order from a pre printed menu. I'm sure there are items that you can ask about that aren't on the menu. We went during a weekday and happy to report that even though it was a weekday, there were quite a few tables eating. Prices were great and service was on point. We'll definitely be back and hope more people will stop in to help them stay open.

Yelp
3/24/18- Dim sum is as fresh and springy as can be. Chicken feet, shrimp crepes, Har-gow, and spare ribs are all better than most places. But their specialty dishes are incredible. RE: home-styled battered fried halibut, pork, bacon and string beans stir fried with shallots and black beans in rice is amazing. A-MAZING. Salty, chewy, tender, and fragrant- I wish I could've just devoured this dish if I wasn't already belly-full from all the dim sum. Their rice noodles and cellophane mixture with squid, shrimp, bean sprout and sweet mustard stir-Fry is always a crowd-pleaser but almost disappears into the background next to the incredible halibut dish. CaNNot wait to come back and have this again.

Yelp
A grade, renovated, looks cleaner and staff is friendly. We know most dimsum restaurants service is not their priority. Good variety on dimsum, delicious. Live seafood tanks, you can see where your seafood comes from. There are many dinner specials too. There is a parking lot across the street. This place is better than most places in Brooklyn and Chinatown.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious and fast! Also amazing service which is never the case with these kinds of places! The wait staff was attentive with changing our plates! The dim sum ladies read our minds as we drool at all the dishes! I really dont see how this place received such low ratings! They do only speak cantonese and they use this loud speaker ‍

Yelp
On Christmas Day, I came here for Dim Sum with family and it was a complete madhouse! We arrived at about 12pm, although our party had been waiting since 11:30am-ish. There were many parties waiting for a table from the outside, inside and everywhere around the restaurant. Even though the restaurant is very big, the entire place was packed to capacity. I remember seeing on the wall that the restaurant's capacity was 518 persons, but it seemed evident that they were way over that number. The restaurant employs the typical Dim Sum system of seating where it's first-come, first-serve. They call out numbers on a microphone and if you're lucky enough to get called run to your table ASAP! The reason being, in our case, there was another party also standing at our table and ready to take it. After 5 minutes of back and forth bickering, we basically got the table and they got the one next to ours. It was an unfortunate situation, but due to overcrowding situations like this will arise often. Anyhow, we finally sat and went to work on ordering our dim sum. From what we ordered and what I saw on all of the carts that passed by, this restaurant has a large selection of dim sum. I saw all of the typical and atypical dishes that I see at the most popular restaurants in Chinatown --- there was Siu Mai, Chicken Feet, Shrimp Dumplings, Pan Fried Turnip Cake, Spring Rolls, Shrimp Noodle Rolls, Beef Noodle Rolls, Sponge Cake, Coconut Jello, Egg Tarts, Buns and, of course, they also had their off cart menu of noodles (Pan Fried, Lo Mein, Chow Fun). The quality of all of the dim sum dishes were good, except for the Siu Mai. Typically, Siu Mai has some pork in it, but this restaurant makes it all shrimp. For some it be what they want, but for others, like me, it's not what I'm used to. The service here was a bit spotty from time to time. Rudeness is expected at many Chinese restaurants, but at times, it seemed a bit more excessive here, such as when they gave us our tea, they sort of just dropped it on the table. Also, when we ordered nestea, they dumped the cans on our table and threw the straws. Of course, this type of service won't ruin the restaurant in any way since most of these restaurants are like this, but it's something to definitely note if it's repeated.

Yelp
Been going to this place for a while, but not often. Went recently and feels like the dim sum has improved. They also have successfully replicated Tim Ho Wan's popular baked pork buns. It's a bit less sweet which I prefer. Maybe I'll visit more often now.

Yelp
This review is for durian lovers-if you love durian pastries, this place have the BEST! I always get the baked/fried durian pastry when I go for dim sum but that doesn't mean it's always good. Usually it's green on the outside but this place makes it golden yellow. We didn't have high expectations as the best we ever had was in flushing. But this place clearly proves me wrong. It was perfectly made, crispy and buttery flakey on the outside and creamy durian on the inside. It was so good, that I think even someone who doesn't like durian would fall in love with it. Trust me, go try it! Aside from the durian, overall dimsum experience was great. We got seated quickly on a busy Sunday morning. We had to share the table but that's like all places. All the dishes we got was very good as well. Great presentation and very clean. The waiters were also super attentive. Luckily this place is not too far from us, so glad we finally discover a dimsum place in Brooklyn that we like!

Yelp
The restaurant was pretty, the food was decent- your typical dim sum. Service was always quick. The shrimp fried with taro crisps are worth trying. They look odd but were quite delicious. My favorites were the piggy custard buns and the har gow (steamed shrimp dumplings). Ordering food wasn't until 11 a.m which was a bummer, they only had dim sum carts. At least the food on the carts were actually hot and not cold like other places.

Yelp
Be warned- I previously reviewed this restaurant but the review miraculously disappeared from Yelp. Very dishonest business, cashier tacked on charges and conveniently miscalculates the bill. Previously my brother and I split the bill to which they charge us each TWICE. When I called in they feigned ignorance, "OH I'm sorry it must have been an error" yea to swipe 2 credit cards 4 times. Yesterday after a year later we revisited and their calculator was apparently broken since they miscalculated by about 10 bucks. Shady, business practice- review your bill. They are crooks.
