Where to Eat and Drink After Hiking in Wissahickon Valley Park in Philly | Eater Philly

"Everyone knows a good beer and a trio of hot sausages is the only way to wind down after a strenuous mountain bike ride, and luckily New Ridge Brewing Co. is only a stone’s throw from the Wissahickon Creek Trailhead. Hot chicken sandwiches, pork schnitzel, oysters, and a robust selection of beers from New Ridge are just the ticket when you come out of the park into Roxborough and Manayunk." - Dayna Evans

Nice brewery with their own kitchen, beer was good although they limit what you can get with the beer/sandwich combo. Home made chips were very tasty but extremely salty and the burger was somewhat mediocre. Staff was very nice and friendly and the outdoor seating area was nice as well. The vegetarian offerings were good as well.

We’ve been regularly visiting new ridge for a few years and we’ve been consistently impressed with the food, drinks, and especially the service which is always friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We live in the neighborhood and it’s our go to spot for everything from casual happy hour snacks and beers to more upscale entrees and cocktails for our anniversary. Recently we’ve been going for Eagles games and there are ample tvs as well as a projector on for big games. It’s a place you can show up in a t-shirt for after work drinks, or get dressed up for a date night and feel comfortable either way. Their draft list has solid standards as well as great rotating and seasonal styles, and we have been really impressed with their cocktails which honestly stand up to some of the more cocktail-focused bars in the city, something you don’t see often at a brewery! Their cocktail menu is vegan (they use aquafaba in place of egg white) and they offer non-alcoholic versions of a number of drinks as well as an NA beer list. They regularly update the food menu which keeps it interesting for regulars, either with weekly specials or full seasonal menu changes, keeping a handful of standards on deck. Our toddler is an adventurous eater and loves to try new things, but it’s nice we can count on the mac and cheese which he always loves. Lately they’ve been doing Mac Monday with a deal on special Mac and cheese flavors. I’d love to see them bring back the special wing and hummus flavor because there were some big hits! Portions are usually generous, and we almost always leave with leftovers. The sandwiches come with really good house made chips and I appreciate having a side included if you don’t want to do the upcharge for fries. We don’t do brunch often but we have enjoyed it, they do a really solid Bloody Mary and Michelada. There are also always well considered vegan options at all levels of the menu (not just a throwaway salad); we took some vegan friends for the Super Bowl and they said the seitan wings were some of the best they’ve had in the city. We have been bringing our 2.5 year old since he was a baby and the New Ridge staff has been hospitable and accommodating at every age. It’s not a place that has kids running all over, but it’s definitely family friendly. There’s a kids menu with coloring page, high chairs, lidded plastic drink cups, and a family size bathroom. The restaurant is also situated next to Pocket Park- a cute and spacious courtyard area just outside the outdoor seating space- it’s SO nice to be able to take our kid right outside if he’s having a hard time or just needs a break to run around a bit. Pocket Park also hosts regular neighborhood events to check out, with drinks available at the New Ridge beer tent :) Thank you New Ridge for being part of the neighborhood and always making sure we have a great time!

Google
This is my favorite brewery, they have a good variety of brews and they are always cold. The food is dynamite with a special mention of the wings and hot chicken dlsandwich. The bar appears to be meticulously maintained and the staff is great.

Google
Great place for brunch on Sunday. Lots of parks near by. Very dog friendly new Ridge brewing Company has a large selection of beers and a kids menu outdoor seating and a friendly wakes up. Be sure to come and ask for a Michelada.

From out of town and stopped in for some beer tasting. They brew many different types and styles.... really good! They were all very friendly and loved to talk about their beer. Got some food to go, which was also very tasty!

Google
Nice spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Has a simple but solid rotating beer menu. We sampled a few of them and they didn’t disappoint. I think we just picked the wrong things to eat. The veggie sliders didn’t have much taste and the ricotta dip was heavy and too acidic. Will try them again and try more of their menu.

Google
How can I say? We had a bad experience at the place today!!! We ordered a hamburger in a bun and spicy chicken for lunch, both of which came with an old, crumbling bun that couldn't hold the filling. The hamburger arrived cold and not juicy, without lettuce or tomato. My husband asked for ketchup and mayonnaise from the beginning and it didn't arrive until the end of the meal. When I asked to replace the bun with a fresh one and the hamburger with a hot one. The waitress called the owner of the restaurant. We explained to him what we were asking for and my husband even had to show him the crumbs and his broken dish on the plate. Then we waited and waited and no one came to take care of us! After waiting for fifteen minutes, we had to leave, hungry and insulted!!!🥲 PS: Of course, all the diners around us left some of the dishes on their plates. I almost took a picture of it, but I decided why bother?!!!

Google
Super fun experience. Dog-friendly patio. Great service! The waitress let me try a lot of special stuff, including the Berliner with woodruff (look up what this is). It's distinctive and great. Kind of marshmellowy and green. Happy hour is Monday through Friday 4:00 to 6:00. Good menu. Lots of fried pickles (spears not coins, which I don't like as much because the juice is often too hot, but still good). The hummus was good. The beers were interesting. They have a Monday through Friday beer and sandwich special for $15 too.

Yelp
Awesome neighborhood brewery with tasty brews, incredible cocktails, and an excellent menu. Here are a few of my favorite things... I'm an IPA gal so all three that are currently on the menu are delish, and my go-to is the whips and furs. Not currently on the menu , but my fav, is the strange obsessions. I had two non-beer drinker friends ask for a sample of a beer, and they both said they would order a beer the next time they came to visit. Also, their creative cocktails are amazing! At the moment, the ghostwriter is top of the list. Not to be outdone, their grub is amazing! Their burgers are fabulous, their daily crostinis are always yummy and eclectic, and their brunch menu is a standout. I haven't tried the mussels yet, but that's next on my list. I've heard good things. The staff are awesome! Super friendly, fun, and attentive. Excited to see how the menus shift seasonally. Keep up the great work - you rock!! Cheers.

Yelp
My second visit to this brewery restaurant. The beers are so good and the chicken sandwich is delectable! The Mac n cheese is elevated by the bread crumb topping. I loved the pumpkin ale. The deviled eggs were too vinegary for my taste and the empanada was bland. The service was great and the setting couldn't be better. Next time I'd like to try the creative cocktails.

Yelp
Yummy! That's the word that came to mind! Cool place. Staff were great! Very hospitable. Ordered the Maine Missels with a side of fries. Loved the fries. Came with sides of beer cheese and Alabama bbq sauce! Had a Smokey paprika seasoned. Loved it Mussel were great. Love the addition of cilantro. Brought out a nice freshness to the dish. Suggestions: offer a side bowl for the shells! I had to be creative and use my underliner ! But overall glad I came

Yelp
This was my third visit here and I still love it. This time I came for the Super Bowl. Got there early for a seat at the bar and was waited on by a very knowledgeable and friendly bartender. The cocktails are made to order, not tap ones which are becoming more and more popular. They were fantastic. The food is incredible. I can't speak for the beer but they have a sizable menu to choose from. I love it here.

Yelp
New Ridge Brewing has amazing service and great food. To start off, the beer selection is fantastic. The skillet mac and cheese is made with a delicious, melty beer cheese. The crab sliders were a special on the menu and were perfect to share. The sliders had a nice tangy flavor that came from the aioli. The piri piri chicken salad sandwich had nice spice and the vegetables within the pita worked well with grilled chicken to make the dish refreshing. The catfish within the Captain Campbell's sandwich was cooked well and the slaw to accompany it was not overpowering (I'm not the biggest fan of slaw but this one was delicious). Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed good food-- can't wait to go back sometime soon.

Yelp
Classic gastropub and quality drinks. Sometimes the food is a little too complicated - for example, a straight up burger with high quality ingredients is all you need. Four stars for the food, five for doing god's work on the Ridge. A gem of the neighborhood

Yelp
On a Tuesday night we get to our concert venue and-show was cancelled during our drive to it. So out to eat on our 41 anniversary! And let the city traffic die down... discovering this place on Yelp. I really enjoyed the choices of creative cocktails-I really enjoyed the fresh flavor of the Electric Circus-see pic. It was made with carrot juice and ginger simple syrup and Yum! Appetizer I chose was tempura mushrooms- not oily crunch perfect and good mushroom inside-not full of hot water... but way too salty. I had the green salad with grilled shrimp. I prefer creamy dressing and asked for spicy ranch but the greens came already soaked in the white wine vinaigrette -I dislike vinegar and dislike soaked salad but I can see many people would like it. It wasn't as vinegar tasting as most. The shrimp were jumbo grilled very well. DH had some Korean barbecue wings -whole wings style were good. He also got the Brisky Boy -beef and sour kraut sandwich and enjoyed saving half for tomorrow. Served with homemade salty chips ( chefs everywhere-cut it out with the salt! If your customers live longer your restaurant will last longer! If your food tastes better with salt you can try bartending). He did a flight of 4 beers a pumpkin an IPA and 2 special cask ales- Beer snob DH Said they were very good. Now the KeyLime Pie- eh. It had the consistency of dry cheesecake good tart flavor and a twist with a coconut whipped cream. Key lime should have a more gelatin consistency though. The place was not too busy on a Tuesday so the ambiance was quiet for a brew pub- I appreciate not having to yell What!!?? While eating and talking. Looks like a good sized patio area too. Staff was great- no long wait and with lots of extras not on the menu they were all there to explain anything. I like learning something new in the cooking world.

Yelp
Got into town for a business trip after a long cross-country flight. Hangry, tired, and not looking for the chain restaurants. Looked online and saw that a brew pub was nearby, so headed over there. Greeted at the front door, and we immediately were seated. Very good first impression. Service was on point, food and beer were both very good. I started off with a Moscow Speedwolf (Russian Imperial Stout) and for dinner, chose the PA Hot Chicken Sandwich with an order of Ridge Fries. Yummy , definitely a very good choice.

Yelp
great food ! the mussels were 10/10, portion for the price was as wonderful as the flavor. the fries are wonderful & the setain wings had a lot of flavor to them as well ! very nice taproom. cute. clean and welcoming. very clean bathrooms ! staff was nice and everyone is friendly.

Yelp
Great place for a great burger and beer. An amazing list of beers to pick from and if you want to taste before ordering, they allow that too. We sat outside since there was a 25 minute wait to sit inside. Outside was perfect. Well worth the trip!

Yelp
Who doesn't love a good Brewery! We recently moved to Ridge and have been scoping the area, decided to start here, although the timings were a little hard to track, we have been able to enjoy some great summer evenings here! The cocktails ( I know , I know its a brewery) but their cocktails are great! We tried the PA hot chicken sandwich, BBQ fries ( absolute 10/10), the ridge burger and a few specials Like the okra fries and meatloaf. The sandwich and burger are so good! Okra fries were a little too tart, but the manager was happy to take it off the check ! They have both outdoor and indoor seating and its pup friendly .

Yelp
My wife and I really enjoy this place. We went and ate outside one evening a few weeks ago. We're vegetarian and vegan and they had lots of great options to choose from. We got a little carried away and ordered way too much food as the portions are pretty substantial. But it was all very good. We ordered a few fried appetizers and also go French fries with our meals and that probably wasn't the best idea, BUT, they know how to fry stuff. Totally crispy outside and nice and amazingly juicy inside.... whoever was on that station was next level. We also really enjoyed their beers! Highly recommended and we look forward to coming back. We just have to just order less next time!

Yelp
Great food, great beer, and fun cocktails! New ridge has a changing food menu, and it never disappoints! It is always so fresh, and they do a fantastic job at putting a unique spin on some classic dishes. I recently had the meatloaf sandwich and it was amazing. The portion was huge and the price was extremely reasonable. They also have a rotating beers brewed on site! While they don't have an extensive draft selection there is something to suit everyone's taste.

Yelp
This crisp and clean pub was a delightful find! The menu had some terrific vegan options and the prices were reasonable. Everything we tried was delicious, including the whole chicken wings and the seitan wings, both of which we loved, and perhaps my new favorite - french fries with beer cheese! The cocktail menu also had several zero-proof modification options which were perfect. The service was on point and we felt well taken care of despite the place being full. Highly recommend the next time you find yourself on the Ridge!

Yelp
Watering hole that has the potential of being a great dining experience. Been here many times before and I was anticipating a great experience but instead got the hangover experience. The fish was burnt with a crumbly exterior with dried out fish in the interior. The grits were super thick and tested like they were reheated. The side salad had been doused with salt and pepper so heavily that it was too much for me and I love spicy food. The biscuits and gravy/ roux. The biscuits were brittle and dry swimming in a sauce with sausage morsels; nothing like the savory sausage gravy we imagined. The potatoes were seasoned well. This visit was nothing like past visits. Even the coffee was an after thought. In the past the coffee was rich and dark. The last two visits the dining room was practically empty, I now understand why. A little more attention to preparation and execution would be appreciated.

Antoinette W ..

Yelp
If you are planning to go to this place with your family, don't even try... immediately the manager rudely told us "we can't accommodate you"... not even outside? ...no... we were 5 adults and 3 kids... definitely not a place for families, may be for couples... but that's it... we all walk from our houses here because they just didn't answer their phone (to make sure the waitlist was not too long), to then go back because "we can't be accommodated"... seeing 3 tables and free outside...you have to be kidding me... he was rude before with us when we were only 4... we should've know better... he didn't even offer us to be in the waiting list. There are definitely better ways to treat people, we have been here several times and keep bringing freight all the time, we are so disappointed.

Yelp
My favorite Manayunk/Roxborough brewery for enjoying good food and sitting outside. I knew this for close to two years now, but in the time that I have, I've seen it evolve throughout Covid-19 difficulties, sample menu and brew changeovers, and had the chance to savor things like their brunch menu. My absolute favorite is chilling in the outdoor courtyard spot which overlooks some mosaic murals. But the indoor space is also perfect for imbibing on beers like their Beautiful and Dangerous cherry Belgian strong ale or Moscow Speedwolf imperial stout. They don't have a huge brew list, but they do have a well-rounded assortment that includes juicy IPAs, baltic porters, Keller Pils, Helles lagers, and more. You can also order as many 4oz pours as you want so you can enjoy a good amount of their brews in one sitting. When it comes to food I've enjoyed damn good burgers, fried chicken and waffles for brunch, amazing brussel sprouts, a cajun catfish po'boy, and so much more! Toss in the stellar service and ability for non-beer drinkers to order some cocktails, and you have a great addition to Roxborough.

Yelp
Our neighbor had been suggesting this place to us. Finally got to try it. Food was really good. We got stringy thin fries that were so good we decided to get another order. The second time they came out thick cut which weren't as crispy as I like them. The thinner ones were better. Outside eating area is a very nice set up. No one else was sitting out there so it was cool that they let us sit out there. Parking was actually fairly easy even though it's along a main stretch. Price wise was not too shabby.

Yelp
Nice place for lunch. My sister had the wings, which also were pretty tasty, and I think my mother enjoyed her Turkey sandwich. It had a Thanksgiving theme going, with stuffing, etc. Kind of like a gobbler sandwich from Wawa. As for my meal, I had the chicken sandwich. It was just OK. My bun practically disintegrated as I was eating it, which wasn't fun, and the crispy portion was a little dark in places. I couldn't tell if it was cooked too long, or if that's how it was supposed to be. I ate it all, but it wasn't particularly anything amazing. The fries were the highlight of lunch. I thought the staff was great. I will give it another try.

Yelp
After multiple visits to New Ridge, I finally had time to sit down to write the review their deserved. Cliff notes: amazing staff with tasty high value options. Bonus local advice: come for happy hour and stay for dinner. As I wouldn't call myself a beer guy, having a new brewery in town was neat but nothing over the top. During their early days, I would grab a drink with friends then head on to other eateries. Once they established their menu, that changed. While they have a few menu items locked in, they rotate quite a few based on seasonal availability. I love this rotation since it means I nearly always have something new to try. As luck would have it, my favorite, the Schnitzel, is a menu main stay so I also have a fall back option. Their happy hour is a solid deal as well. I believe it runs until 6pm and offers $1 off beers, usually has a specialty cocktail you can enjoy if you aren't into beer, and also includes a new small bite every week. Their happy hour also features a smaller version of their burger (in regular and vegan form) if you aren't too hungry or want to test them out before a larger commitment. I'll round off the review the way I started it: the staff and service. I've never experienced anything but excellent from the host/hostess to the servers (and even a visit from the manager from time to time). Friendly and easy going yet still focused on ensuring you are enjoying your meal and time their. I'm not quite a regular yet, but do frequent a few times a month!

Yelp
This brewpub is the best addition to Roxborough (and Philadelphia) and I'm so happy it's my local spot. The beers are fantastic and get switched up often enough. Their food is also exceptional (I could eat their fries everyday), and they make a daily homemade hummus with very interesting combinations--there was a coffee hummus a few weeks back and, as weird as it sounds, it was incredible. The bartenders and servers are always friendly and welcoming. I'm a dark bar kind of guy, but I'll forgive them for going with a more open air and light ambiance...I guess. Pros: food, beer, service. Also, vegetarian/vegan offerings! Cons: I'm getting fat from going there too much.

Yelp
What a wonderful, quaint watering hole right in the heart of Roxborough on the Ridge. I was out with my drunken, big mouthed, and add to it HIGH friend tonight, so it was babysitting night, keeping him out of trouble. Argggggg, I hate that duty. But we were welcomed by the coolest 'tender of brews behind a bar in the area. Service, need I say, was perfect! AND the beers were good too :). I had their Modern Haze IPA and it was amazing, no after taste and the strong ale flavor was only on the middle of the tongue and not all the way back to the throat. Fantastic. My friend had the Vienna Lager (Just like Himmel something or other), and for a person who hates 90% of the creative beers out there and would prefer a Miller, he sucked them down like they were free! I don't eat burgers, well maybe 2-3 a year, so I had to get their award-winning burger. Big, juicy, cooked to my request of medium exactly, wonderful soft bun, soft and creamy carmelized onions, cooper sharp cheese, the cheese jumps right out and gets in your face and says "here I am, I'm cheese, no mistake about it". It's a 5, no question. We also split wings, had to. Six (6) whole (uncut) wings for $20, I thought a tad high, but they were soooo tender, so for a few extra bucks, worth it. Great spot, shame I don't live closer.

Elizabeth T B.

Yelp
The beer is great, especially if you like English-style beers. The food is very good and definitely not an afterthought, as it is at so many brewpubs. And the folks that work there are beyond friendly. My only suggestion is to add a non-spicy poultry option to the menu for those of us who don't eat red meat or pork.

Jessica S.

Yelp
Had such a great experience here, and my kids loved it too! The burger was amazing and so was the ricotta dip. I really enjoyed the side salad as well. The drinks were definitely one of the best around the area! The staff was also really kind and helpful. We sat inside since it was cold out and it wasn't too loud. They also have tv's at the bar which was nice

Susanna R.

Yelp
Sat outside which was quiet and pleasant. Good food. Good brew. Nice location. Will be nicer when construction across from them is done.

Yelp
AMAZING!! A much needed addition to Roxborough and a must visit! The beer is unbelievable. Varied styles are available on draft and in crowlers for take out. The food was excellent! We visited for a late lunch on the patio. There were a few other tables there during our visit, but the spacing made us feel very comfortable and all patrons were very respectful of COVID guidelines, masks and distancing. The patio set up is super cute with lots of fresh flowers. Each table has a giant umbrella which provided shade and rain coverage (it drizzled for a bit of our visit). Laura was our server. She was extremely friendly and attentive (I think she's the front of house manager and serving while only outside dining is permitted). BEER: We tasted the Helles, the IPA, the Berliner Weiss, and the Coffee Stout. Every. Single. One. was well crafted, balanced, and will certainly be revisited. I had the Berliner since it was a hot day. It was light and the perfect amount of refreshingly tart, without overwhelming the tastebuds. The coffee stout may just be the best damn one I've ever had. The Helles and the IPA are exactly what you want them to be and will please even the non-craft beer regulars. FOOD: We had the green meadow farm salad, the pimento board, and the schnitzel sandwich with a side of small fries. Everything was fresh and delicious; the portions were great. I want to highlight a favorite item, but it was all so great and each had an inventive twist. Favorite parts of each dish? The pickled beans on the salad, the everything crackers with the pimento board, the juicy chicken of sandwich. I am not quite ready to dine outdoors, but New Ridge made it feel super safe; every precaution was taken. If you're like me and hesitant, definitely still check them out now and get some take out beer. Support this place! A new neighborhood staple for sure!

Yelp
One of my top spots for reading a book on a patio with some quality food and beverage. It's cozy and consistent.

Yelp
Good bar food with interesting options on the menu. Nice people great beer.. Can be a bit noisy in side, nice outdoor seating. Good place to go for a drink with friends.

Yelp
What a pleasure to write this review of a wonderful new brewery & restaurant in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia.  New Ridge Brewery is a total winner.  First of all it looks great on a pedestrian walkway with its colorful adornment and outside & inside dining and drinking areas.  And it is so friendly from the moment you set foot in its vicinity.  On a nice summer day we chose to eat outside in one of their pandemic designed cabana booths. And that brought the cool and helpful waiter John to us. New Ridge has already become famous for its hamburgers and indeed my friend's hamburger tasted excellent. (He let me have a bite.)  Now here's a kicker, I didn't completely care for my dish and I'll explain why.  I ordered the maitake vegan burger and as much as I love maitake, I did not care for the bbq sauce.  You see it was heavily tasting of molasses and going forward forever in the future I will abide by the fact - I don't like molasses.  Maybe it is a taste that Americans grow up with and love, but Austrian taste buds are just not in tune with it.  I scraped as much of it off as I could off and then managed to enjoy my meal. The bowl of shoestring fries were simply tasty and generously portioned.  Of course a couple of summer brews crafted at the brewery provided the liquid accompaniment. I would easily go back to this welcome new establishment in Northwest Philly .... and I'm pretty sure I def will!

Yelp
I hadnt been before though I've passed by a number if times. Went in and ordered the chicken wings w bleu cheese and a hazy style beer. Tasty wings. Anyway, the place or atmosphere is nice, the chicken wings and beer quite good. The bartender was very friendly, attractive and welcoming too. I did want to to get the mussels but that was served later in the day. I'd come back for sure .

Yelp
Very nice open brewery with a varied food menu. Had the ridge burger and it was nicely cooked and well put together. Fries seasoned with paprika added a nice kick. Staff were great as well. Only issue is some of the food and drink/cocktail options are rather highly priced. Limits what you can order if it doesn't seem like it could be worth it. Overall very good and worth stopping in.

Yelp
I have an unhealthy obsession with this brewery. The staff is so kind, I love sitting up at the bar. The food menu changes every few weeks and they offer some really great food specials as well, so follow them on Instagram to keep an eye on those!! I rarely eat burgers but their ridge burger is so yummy. I order the fries 99% of the time, and always add the beer cheese. Their mac and cheese is also great to split with friends. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu, I've loved everything I've tried so far! As for beer I've personally only tried the lighter beers and any hazy/New England IPA. Product of this Modern Haze is my favorite!!! Highly recommend to everyone, 10/10.

Yelp
I LOVE this place!! The beer is great, and the food is even better. Now that it's patio season this is definitely the spot to be. It's located in the little pocket park on Ridge Ave so you get to enjoy a nice view of the murals and pretty flowers. The inside was also really cool and spacious. Can't wait to sit at the massive bar once restrictions are lifted! The menu is by far the best menu I've ever seen at a brewery. I like to think of it as a restaurant with a brewery attached :) We started off with the Brisket Board special and wow - it was melt in your mouth amazing. Even the sides of pasta salad and cornbread were excellent. We sent our compliments to the Chef and he came outside to talk about the menu with us, which was much appreciated! His name was Nate and he was awesome and insisted we try the Oyster and Scallops. Sooo glad we did! They were both fresh and delicious. Lastly, the service here is just impeccable. Everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable of the beers & menu. Our server, Jessie, was fantastic and attentive! Overall a 10/10 visit. I can't recommend New Ridge enough!

Yelp
New Ridge is an awesome new brewery. Sadly we didn't get to eat during our last visit but the food looked awesome. The beer selection was great but somewhat limited (I think there were 4 beers on tap or so), but I loved that they also had a big wine/cocktail selection. Overall cool vibe and will definitely he back.

Yelp
Great food, great beer, wonderful outdoor area and nice indoor area. There are often events in the adjacent pocket park. A fun place to hang out.

Yelp
I love New Ridge Brewing! The only reason it's taken me so long to post a big 'ol five star review is that I was kindly treated to my first meal on the house during the friends and family preview. Since then, I've returned with my husband for beer pick-ups. On Sunday, we decided to treat ourselves to a meal after our hike along the Wissahickon. It didn't take us long to decide on our order. The menu is short but packed with delicious eats. We shared the pimento cheese (a must!) and fries (liberally seasoned and plentiful!). I had the burger while my man opted for the chicken schnitzel. Both sandwiches were stacked and you can't go wrong with either one. I was super happy with our early dinner. Though I stuck with Pellegrino, my husband enjoyed his dunkel so much he also got a crowler to-go. The patio seating is bomb because of the pretty murals and toasty heaters. I can't wait for normalcy to return so we can cozy up inside; the interior is super inviting. If you haven't already checked out this gem, add it to your list of businesses to support this winter. Their beer is great and the food is equally delicious.

Yelp
Came back for more and gotta say- really love this spot. Ordered the Bahn Mi, shishito peppers, and the jerk chicken - all awesome! The Bahn mi was probably my favorite....but disclaimer: it looks like a traditional Bahn mi but is far from it, so if you're looking for the standard ball vietnamese bahn mi, this is not it. New Ridge's version is Smokey (think that's their mayo), and has charred flavors of the bun and thick slab of pork. It's mega sized and beautiful - will definitely order this again. The jerk chicken is also good- not too spicy and very tender. Lots of flavor on this dish with the fresh salsa, the charred broccoli, and coconut rice. Shishito letters had a good lemony- zesty seasoning and delicious creamy ponzu dipping sauce. Consistently fast and friendly service and awesome cocktails!

Yelp
I'll continue to rave about my favorite place. One of my favorite local spots. Hosted a little birthday dinner and showed everyone my favorite place and they all couldn't agree more. A true hidden gem. They and I will all be back!!

Yelp
Excellent service, excellent ambience, and excellent food. The beers were above average as well! I had the catfish sandwich and it was de-effin'-licious. The cauliflower app was also fantastic - cauliflower apps can be botched really easily (too salty, too soggy, overcooked) but this one was superb and the accompanying sauce was great. We sat in the outdoor area which was comfortable and dog friendly, but the inside was quite nice too.

Yelp
One of the best spots in Roxborough - can't recommend New Ridge enough! Every dish I have had has been absolutely amazing. The drinks are just as good as the food - you wouldn't expect cocktails from a brewery but they are not to be misses.

Yelp
Love the new brewery, service is stellar, oysters are delicious, all the food is killer. Solid burger, I got the shrimp and grits twice already. The chef is from Sean Brock's Husk. Price point for the quality of ingredients is the best part. They use green meadow farm for their local specialty ingredients. I am just so happy to have this rockin establishment in the neighborhood. Great great addition. I'm a real beer snob but this fully surpassed my expectations. The hazy ipa was on par with some of my favorite breweries in and around the city.

Yelp
I'm happy to finally have a brewery in the neighborhood to walk to! The place is beautiful and the beer is delicious! Small menu ( beer & food ) but they're new and i look forward to try more options. The owner Vince and server Laura were wonderful and they truly made us feel right at home. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
New Ridge Brewing is a great addition to the neighborhood of Roxborough! Their outdoor seating is quaint and gives off a very chill vibe. The menu is small, but everything seems to be very tasty based on what I've tried and heard! The staff is extremely friendly and they really seem to get to know their customers. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Good beer and decent food. Food is a bit expensive for the quality and portions. Definitely recommend if you want good beer. Beer ranges from strong stouts to hopped Belgian. It's not a large list of beers but every one of them is thoughtfully brewed and delicious. Service is great and fast. Dog friendly outside and a cute little patio.

Yelp
Tried this place out the other day found it to be welcoming and warm. Staff are accommodating and were open to my questions about the brews. Great location can't wait for the warm weather to sit in the sun with a wonderful beer.

Yelp
Great service, friendly staff, very accommodating to large groups. Due to the world cup games, seating of brunch for a large group was a bit difficult but was doable with a little out of the box thinking. I did not have any of the cocktails as it seemed to early in the day, but beer was porter was great and on point. I had the chicken and waffles for brunch and it was fantastic. Portions were reasonable - chicken was fried and moist and flavorful which made it very enjoyable.

Yelp
We stopped in on Friday, our first time to this new gem on the ridge. We sat outside, because COVID, but would have chosen to do so regardless. Their outdoor seating extends into the green Stormwater infrastructure pocket park, and it is the perfect setting for a few beers and lunch. We had the Schnitzel sandwich, a plate of mixed sausages, fries, some pumpkin beer along with a Weiss. Everything was great, and the staff was super friendly. Can't wait to hit this place up again.

Yelp
We love this place! It's kid friendly, dog friendly, the drinks are fantastic, and the food is even better. The staff is incredibly attentive, and we love that they have events going on throughout the year in pocket park. We come here at least once a month. One of our favorite spots to go when we need to get out of the house with our little one!

Yelp
You may have spotted a new eye-catching mural on Ridge Ave., and alongside this mural you'll find the newest neighborhood brewery- New Ridge Brewing Co.! With an outdoor patio and "garden" seating - this location is perfect for outdoor dining! Beer fans, you'll want to add this one to your list. The Tangerine Berliner is fruity and a little tart - perfect for a day at the shore. The Oktoberfest is lighter in both color and flavor than a typical Oktoberfest, which makes it crisp and refreshing. The Product of This Modern Haze is hoppy and citrusy and packs a punch at 7.2% ABV! The Zwickelbier is perfect for that person in your crew who "doesn't like craft beer" (looking at you mom and dad) - light and goes down smooth. The thick and creamy smoked blue cheese was the highlight of the chicken wings. This was the perfect way to cool off the spicy/sweet combo of the miso hot sauce. Be prepared to get your hands messy, as you'll have to break down the full wing into drums and flats. Pro tip: with a rotating tap, make sure to check out their Instagram for updates on what's coming and going. I just missed the Pumpkin Ale, so I'll definitely be back to give that a try! Also, if you're not a beer drinker, they have added cocktails and wine to their menu!
