Chef Matthew Kenney’s Plant City Vegan Food Hall Opens in Providence | Eater Boston

"A casual, full‑bar burger counter inside the food hall, its bar space reflects inspirations from a noted Providence restaurant and serves as an immediate left-of-entry anchor; the compact layout makes it a lively, social spot within the hall." - Evan Fleischer

Easily the best plate was the cauliflower wings. Only complaint is that the celery garnish was MAYBE a single julienned celery stick. Overal the least fav entrees were the butchered Classic burger with untoasted bun , like how do you mess that up - it’s a classic, and the kale salad lacked everything. The Truffle Burger did stand out whilst the beet ketchup was a neat addition. May try again if desperate and for the service and and cauliflower wings. Sticky tables but clean bathrooms.

Stepped out on a beautiful Saturday evening. Had a drink and some onion rings. It was definitely a great vibe. The server Sam was super attentive and friendly.

The BBQ burger was delicious! Lots of flavor. I like that the burger patties are made with beans/lentils/nuts and not an impossible burger. The sweet potato fries (plain, not with chili) were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The whole concept of plant city is awesome!

Enjoyed probably one of the best burgers of my entire life at New.Burger! Their veggie patties have a uniquely delicious, satisfying flavor and texture I've never experienced before in my 7+ years of veganism. The drinks were great too! LOVE the outdoor patio seating as well.

Google
great food and service!! audrey was our server. she was so friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience! food was also fantastic :) vegetarians and meat-eaters all enjoyed our meals. i recommend anything with the “bacon”- might be the best i’ve had in 20 years of being vegetarian.

Google
Love the concept but in my opinion the food is too rich and strongly flavored. They need to tone it down. For instance: The sweet potato fries with sweet chili sauce are too sweet and too salty. The fried green tomato BLT is too oily, with a greasy batter, oiled bread and a creamy dressing. It’s not balanced.

Delicious vegan fare in a trendy atmosphere. Friendly service too.

Yelp
Upon entering New Burger, I noticed that while the bathrooms were clean, the setup was a bit off-putting for me. The women's restroom was designated as gender-neutral, which made me uncomfortable. After that, we ordered a round of drinks. The bartender was friendly, though you could tell he was a little stressed. We then tried a few vegan sandwiches, but I couldn't figure out why the fries weren't automatically included. I mean, when you're ordering a vegan meal, I assumed fries would come as a standard side. The portion sizes for two were also a bit disappointing. The sandwiches themselves were tasty, but the burger was kind of lost under an overwhelming amount of sauce--even though I'll admit, the sauce was pretty satisfying on its own. On the upside, the view outside really saved the day. I loved seeing the water across the street and having a nice little path to walk along.

Yelp
During our short stop in Providence, we ventured to visit as many of the sections of Plant City as we could, and New Burger was a surprising winner for me. Serving veganized versions of traditional pub fare, the food is excellent. I was especially pleased with the buffalo cauliflower bites. The breading was legit (and kind of reminded me of getting fried seafood by the sea as a kid). This was robust, crunchy, and flavorful - a far cry from the barely-covered-in-panko stuff I have gotten at other places. I had the Philly "cheesesteak," which was a tasty sandwich that really did riff on the old classic. My husband did a lettuce-wrapped truffle burger, and that might be the only place that I paused because absent the bun, you can see just how little the serving is. They also have sushi from the Make Out available, and I did a tomato tuna nigiri that was tops. I want to come back just for the sushi. The service was a little slow, but our server made a point to apologize thank us for our patience. She was just really busy, but she was also very upbeat and cognizant of making people wait. I don't often encounter many servers like that - she seemed to be legitimately happy to be there. They have a great beer selection, including plenty of draft, and they also have wine and cocktails available. It was good enough that we made plans to return before we leave town, and I know it will be a stop when we come back. Probably the first one!

Yelp
I ordered a bunch of stuffs from here like loaded fries, cauliflower wings, onion rings, burger and sweet potato fries. Everything except the wings and onion rings were decent. The cauliflower wings and onion rings were greasy/without flavor. They also offer delicious tea/coffee.

Yelp
So, I'm not against all things vegan- frankly, New Burger does it right. The sandwiches are tasty plant based versions of meals without substations that leave you scratching your head. Their fried green tomato sandwich competes with any that I've had down south, and that's saying something. The buffaloed cauliflower bites are quite tasty. But let's talk about the chai... which comes served in a beer stein. I've never quite had so much chai served at once, but with cinnamon dusted on the top, I'd come back for more. They've got indoor and outdoor seating, on a nice day, I recommend you enjoy the view and relax outside. Inside seems a bit cramped. Also, the service was spot on. We had a follow-on engagement after lunch, mentioned it to the server, and he ensured the flow of food was quickly delivered to the table. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Great food and quality service. I had the Truffle burger, everything fries, and the pomegranate nojito (non-alcoholic). The truffle burger - great flavor, crispy edges, good chew in the middle, and the truffle aioli was awesome! Only regret is that I only ordered one The everything fries - this was definitely meant to share. I appreciate the fact the portion was good sized. Pomegranate nojito - fantastic! Not overly sweet. Just right.

Yelp
Wow! Had the everything fries and they were AMAZING. When I go to a restaurant, sometimes I find myself saying "I could totally make this at home". But whoa, these fries were something I would absolutely come back to New Burger for specially. They were truly such an amazing mix of flavors and so so delicious. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Just an ok experience for me. The mac and cheese was just ok. Bartender was super cool, fast service, cocktail was decent. Maybe I should've gotten a burger, next time.

Yelp
So I left the delicious seafood shack across the bridge and decided to take a leisurely stroll across the 22 million dollar bridge. To say I felt like a tourist in my home town would definitely be an understatement. Absolutely beautiful!!! I then saw this establishment which my friend raves about constantly. I couldn't eat anything else but I could drink. Jamie was the bartender and was so friendly and welcoming. I ordered a blood orange margarita. When I say it was the best margarita I've had in years, I'm not lying. It was perfect; it was $10; and I drank it knowing I will return. It's a beautiful venue, cozy and totally doable for a singular person.

Yelp
My partner and I experienced New Burger for the first time at VegFest 2022. They were serving their Fried "Chicken" sandwich topped with cole slaw, champagne vinegar pickles and chipotle mayo. They. Were. Delicious. The patties themselves were simple, a slice of tofu breaded in a wonderfully seasoned batter, and it worked! The toppings were of a proper amount and the flavors of everything melded and complimented each other perfectly. The bun included was buttery and fantastic. This was honestly, the only thing we ate at VegFest that was actually, correctly hot when we received it, the service was fast and combined that made a big difference. The girls behind the counter were super friendly and were obviously enthusiastic about the food they were serving and were eager to express their pride over the progression of Plant City where their eatery is located. A first off 5-stars all around for New Burger. Really looking forward to visiting them soon!
