Newhall Mains

This was our fifth visit! Stayed in Euan Cottage 3 this time. All the cottages have their own individual layout but the style and quality is superb. Once again the food was superb and the service was excellent. The personal welcome is wonderful and made us feel instantly relaxed and at home. We will definitely be back and maybe arrange a little flying next time!

Absolutly stunning grounds. Unfortunatly food didnt match. Please revisit the beef main course, £42 4 thin slices of slightly under beef, a lovely celerisc rem, an unedidble cloying salty black garlic splodge overpowered everything, and no starch of any desricption. Just half a caramalised shallot .which was nice.. bit of a stichup. Creme caramel needed to be taken a bit further, caramel was a bit pale. Bread was delicious though. Very friendly staff. Just. Meh...also please ask how the customer wants there beef cooked when taking an order. As i daid was just about ok for me but bordering on rare rather than med rare,which made it a little bit chewy other than that it was £180 well spent 🙄oh and my flat white was cold , tbf the guy was all on his own, serving,taking orders making drinks etc and doing the best he could. Absolutely fabulous. It’s hard to find a quality experience in Scotland outside the few famous ones. Newhall Mains pays a huge amount attention to detail. Service is superb. Rooms delightful! Breakfast top notch. Dinner out of this world. A worthy Michelin Star. We were looked after superbly by Rafaela and Nasi. We shall come back within the year.

We returned to Newhall Mains to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had visited a few times before and we knew that the quality and service would make our celebration very special. And in fact this visit exceeded our already high expectations. From the moment we arrived we were treated with exceptional warmth by staff who paid close attention to making our stay absolutely first class. Euan and Chris and the staff team had taken particularly good care to provide a level of service that was superlative. Our accommodation was fabulous - tasteful, comfortable, spotless and abounding in attention to detail and meticulous design. One highlight was the cocktails enjoyed in the courtyard beside a wood-burning fire pit - such a welcoming atmosphere. Everyone was charming and attentive, and showed a strong commitment to the friendly yet knowledgable ethos that Newhall Mains cultivates. We had a wonderful evening meal cooked by guest chef Paul Tamburrini - it was simply fabulous. Breakfasts were a delight: informal, tasteful, healthy and generous.|We cannot commend Newhall Mains enough. We have been visiting the Black Isle for many years because we believe it is a beautiful, magical place and now that it has a hotel of this supreme calibre, that magic is complete.

We stayed at this absolutely amazing hotel over Christmas last year, and it was truly unforgettable. The service was impeccable, the facilities were top-notch, and the food was simply exceptional. We felt so well looked after! I cannot recommend this wonderful place enough, and we already can’t wait to come back.

Newhall Mains is just the most special place in the beautiful Highands. The rooms/ cottages/ lounge/ restaurant are just faultlessly designed and the beds are the best I've ever slept in. But it is the staff that give it the special touch. They go out of their way to ensure your every need is catered for. Highly recommend

Newhall Mains is cozy and welcoming. The location is stunning and while it feels like you're really getting away, it's so close to so many beautiful places to visit. You could be happy to stay right on the property for your full stay with the delicious food, lovely drinks, books, games, and a tiny herd of cows right on site. We loved the sauna and wish we had spent more time in it. We ordered a lunch basket from Newhall Mains that was absolute perfection. We took it to Cromarty for a little day trip. Everyone on staff and in the area were so kind, which was maybe the best part of our experience at Newhall Mains. Our special thank you to Ewan for helping us out when we got a flat and JD for the warm conversation. I hope to come back and see you all sooner rather than later.

Could not recommend more highly for a trip to the Highlands. We stayed for a long weekend and it was truly magical. The hotel is absolutely beautiful inside and out, meticulously designed and thought through - each room and cottage quickly feels like your own and waking up to the picturesque surroundings and animals (the hotel’s own highland coos!) gives you everything you need from a trip the highlands. The ladies and gents running the place are top, top tier (thank you Euan, Chris, Ignacio and team) and the food was up there with some of the best I’ve had. Certainly not one to be missed and we will be back!
