Newport Candy Shoppe was a super cute candy shop with tons of different candies. They also had popcorn and caramel corn in different flavors. They were super nice and friendly.

Beautiful candy shop! I was amazed at the selection of so many chocolates and candy! Their new location, still right there on the Bayfront, is amazing! It is well stocked and so well arranged, as well as bright and cheery. I wanted one piece of everything! The chocolates are made right there in South Beach, and you can’t beat the selection and flavor anywhere! I used to be a big fan of a well known chocolate store, now I am definitely a loyal fan of Newport candy shop hands down. Even the taffy is made right there at the shop and it is the best in my opinion. Please make sure to visit this shop when you are in Newport, the staff are also very friendly and helpful!

We were dying for soft serve ice cream and after another shop’s machine was down, stumbled into here. Was so glad we did. Fairly priced and big portions of chocolate soft serve. Was $11.50 for a few cones and a packaged candy for my daughter. We didn’t get their candy, but it looked great and they had a huge selection of house-made treats. Only knocking off a star because you had to have cash. While they did have an ATM, it’s a little rough to tack on ATM fees just for ice cream. Crazy to see there are places that still don’t take credit cards.

Service was exceptional. The gal working was very friendly & helpful when asking about all the chocolates. We only purchased chocolates & so far everything is delicious. The downside is the price. It does seem quite steep. The second thing is overfilling the salt water taffy candy that you see some on the floor (that and am sure people moving candy around).

We always stop at this shop but were really disappointed this trip 8/19/25. The Carmel corn was not as crunchy almost stale and the taffy was terrible! It stuck to the paper so bad and was way too soft. I don’t know that we will be back! Maybe time to try another store??

We were visiting the coast on Friday 7/18/2025. We used to live here and remembered how much we enjoyed the bay front and a few shops including Newport Candy Shoppe. Today we were met with the rudest customer service. I had walked up with a small bagged taffy in hand and was getting ready to ask for some sour. Cherries and the young man at the counter, saw me walk up and turned around to talk to the other gal. That was working completely ignoring my hello. I tried to say hi and hello three times before he finally turned around and looked at me. I made my request politely to get some sour cherries and he mumbled at me and said something to the girl and the girl helped me but seemd to be in a mood. She was rude to my kids as well when they asked for fudge. She was not friendly nor polite. When weighing our stuff, she was slamming our bags around. There was no thank you. There was no, please, there was no. How are you? Etc. Zero basic customer service. We have been in many times before. I have never experienced this with any of the many visits we used to do. It was very disappointing, especially on the day of my child's birthday and this being such an iconic store for their childhood memories.

Not sure what’s happened to this place. Usually come here every summer to get taffy for gifts, same story this year. Friendly people, good quality. Person working this year seemed to be bothered that we were there, and annoyed that she had to look up from her phone. She dropped my change to me before I was ready and it just went everywhere. Didn’t give me my things, just left it all on the scale and started typing again. And they don’t take card…turning out to be more of an inconvenience. Hope it turns around.

Nice selection (besides the stale taffy) but really, very terrible customer service. Luckily I was with my young kids and we were able to turn it into a teachable moment about how to interact with others; so I guess the one star is for that.
