Phenomenal sunset sail experience. Captain Mike is so knowledgeable and makes it a really fun night. Boat is spacious, clean, and they are very accommodating. A must do in Newport! I’ve done it twice now and is a staple to every trip from here on out!

This is a lovely, family owned local Sailing business in Newport. Mike is a great guy with lots of experience and knowledge, and he really takes care of his customers. I’ve done a lesson and a tour now and both were absolutely amazing experiences! We felt safe the entire time, learned so much, and enjoyed a beautiful sail both times. There are life jackets and the boat is also designed in a way that prevents capsizing. Gorgeous views and a totally safe environment. You are in good hands here!

Did a tour with Newport sailing and it was easily the highlight of my east coast road trip. It’s safe to say that me and my friends were in complete awe throughout the duration of the voyage. Mike is incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and a great teacher. It will be the first thing I do the next time I visit Newport. Absolutely a must do for anyone who has never been sailing.

We booked a private tour for our friend’s bachelorette party and it was so much fun! Mike was great! We loved sailing around the harbor and seeing the boats and landmarks of Newport. We will definitely be back!!

We had an amazing time sailing the sunset with our captain, Mike. He was a very experienced sailor and a knowledgeable person about the area. He pointed out a number of landmarks and gave us, the newbies, a short intro to the world of sailing. He even recommended a few places to visit for great local food and we absolutely loved one of them. Thank you, Mike, for an amazing trip. Definitely a must do when in the area!

We really enjoyed our sunset sail! Beautiful scenery and amazing way to see Newport. Mike was a terrific captain and knows the area really well. He shared great recommendations and history of the area. A true highlight of our trip and we hope to come back and do sailing lessons next time.

My wife had purchased the sunset sail w/ Capt. Mike @ Newport Sailing School and Charters on July 28, 2024. This was the best birthday gift I had ever recieved by anyone ever. The weather was perfect. Capt. Mike was knowledgable, informative, professional, fun and possesed an immense amount of knowledge and insight of the local places to go and eat, drink, and/or play. I will definately RETURN again soon. This is a must do if your in the Newport area. In my opinion , If you are looking for that something special to impress your mate or even the 1st date. I found that it was a great value for party of 4 in Newport RI /mind you, @ the prime time of the year ,enjoying the very thing that made Newport what it is. I am now thinking bout attending his courses and learning the ins and outs of sailing before I purchase a sailing vessel . I do beieve that I was finally able to understand the "why" so many love to sail the ocean rather than motoring . We had a blast. NEWPORT SAILING SCHOOL AND TOURS gets a perfect 5 star review . CAPTAIN MIKE another 5 stars. So, in my opinion a 10 star review. THIS IS A MUST DO REGARDLESS OF AGE.

100% recommend booking a sail with Newport Sailing school and tours! Making a reservation was super easy- you can make one online or give them a call. I spoke to Mike on the phone and he was super friendly and great to work with! My husband and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on a group tour sunset sail. Mike happened to also be our captain and was fantastic! We learned a lot about sailing, the bay, and Newport in general. It was a great time! You can even bring your own snacks and byob if you'd like. Cannot wait to do this again! Skip the touristy sails and do this one- so worth it!! Plus you are setting sail off of goat island which is incredibly beautiful!

Mike was a great captain guiding us around the harbor for some sailing experience and fun sightseeing.

My boyfriend and I had a great time on a private sale with Mike. He is so knowledgeable about sailing and the area. He gave us great tips for restaurants and information about the harbor and sailing. We'd absolutely recommend Mike and Newport Sailing School. Awesome experience!

Love Sailing with Newport Sailing School. We have done this every summer for 10-12 years. Mike is great, and gives a nice background to all the places you see sailing out of the harbor. Would highly recommend.
