Everything You Need To Eat This Summer - The Infatuation

"This Rhode Island seafood specialty is as fun to say as it is to eat, and there’s no better place to have one than Flo’s Clam Shack in Newport. Each clam is stuffed with spicy breadcrumbs, and peeling off the attached rubber band before cracking one open is as entertaining as imagining a fictional insurance saleswoman working the fryer." - team infatuation, anne cruz, anne cruz, kayla sager riley, gabe bergado, anne cruz, virginia otazo, carlo mantuano, carlo mantuano, carlo mantuano, carlo mantuano, nikko duren, lani conway, lani conway, lani conway, molly fitzpatrick, camelia de jesus, john ringor, lani conway, anne cruz, lani conway, carlo mantuano, carlo mantuano, ciera velarde, alison kessler, bryan kim

I went in looking for some inspiration for a fun meal and after talking with Jonathan, found some really fun ingredients to play with like Wasabi Salt, a seasoned octopus, a fantastic robust seafood stock, and fresh fish. Also tried his twist on cocktail sauce that really turns the conventional horseradish sauce on its head— it was sweet and a bit tangy and refreshing for those who don’t like a lot of spice like kids.

The welcome was pretty average "no smile" but the staff was helpful and answered my questions clearly. I bought two live lobsters from their tank, and they were in perfect condition. I also picked up some smoked salmon, which was excellent quality. Prices are similar to other places. Overall, a good experience. I recommend it.

Didn’t have time to take a pic, the lobster roll was in my belly before you could say chowdah. Which brings me to my next point, the chowder was exceptional!! I was on a work trip to Boston, I heard about this place and made the drive. Let me tell ya, I would do that drive everyday of the week and twice on Sunday’s for that delicious meal!! Welcoming staff, Great food. Outstanding.

I don’t know how they stay in business. I went in to buy shrimp. They had one size with out a price. When I asked the young man behind the counter what size it is, he didn’t know the size or the price. I honestly should have walked out, but they were my only choice since Anthony’s Seafood is closed on Wednesday. Anthony’s is the only good choice on Aquidneck Island!
