"When the day is beautiful but the crowds are overwhelming, head to Newport Vineyards, a few short minutes from the beaches and downtown. In addition to the 25+-year-old winery, they also have a seven-barrel brewhouse where Taproot Brewing Company makes small-batch, hop-forward beers. Stop by any night for dinner and try things like New England clam pizza with bacon, gourmet grilled cheeses with apples, cheddar, and maple glazed pork belly, or Taproot beer braised chicken with vineyard vegetables and wedding butter cornbread. All their food is made with ingredients grown in their own greenhouse, or obtained from nearby local farms, so expect the menu to change often. Grab a seat at one of the outdoor firepits and watch the sunset over the island after a wine tour, Wednesday Flight Night, or Thursday night soup and entree special." - danielle rose

We recently got married at Newport Vineyards and it was literally the best experience. Lily was our event coordinator and answered probably at least 2 emails a week with a million questions during the lead up with patience and kindness. She was truly such a pleasure to work with leading up to and through our wedding night. NV was so organized and made wedding planning as easy as it could be. They took my vision and executed perfectly. The wedding itself was gorgeous, seamless, perfection. We had a VIP server, Jeannie, who got us drinks and apps during cocktail hour and made sure to send us home with apps and desserts we didn’t have a chance to eat throughout the night. Everyone was so kind and attentive and we felt so special. The guests raved about the reception hall, the grounds, cocktail hour on the terrace, and the food! You never hear about good food at weddings and this was a big part of our decision. I could not be happier with our night and cannot say enough good things about our experience. Can’t wait to come back every summer and anniversary!

We recently got married at Newport Vineyards. Our day was beautiful and seamless and the word we have heard over and over from our guests is stunning. The organization and online access when planning helped everything run smoothly. Lily, our event coordinator, was so responsive throughout the entire process and was nothing short of amazing on our wedding day. We chose not to do all of the traditional things at our wedding. NV was flexible and open to different ideas from the decor to the order of events. All of our guests raved about the grounds and the hand drawn chalkboard seating chart. The food was a big consideration for us in choosing a wedding venue and all of our guests enjoyed their meals- a rarity when it comes to weddings. Our service was wonderful as appetizers and desserts we didn't have a chance to grab were set aside for us and sent with us at the end of the night as well. We would absolutely trust Newport Vineyards with our wedding day all over again and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

Newport Vineyards is hands down the most amazing place to get married. If you don’t want to read my entire review, here’s a quick synopsis: this venue has it all—breathtaking spaces, incredible farm-to-table food, a top-notch staff, and the perfect vibes for any celebration. From start to finish, they made our wedding unforgettable, and we wouldn’t have changed a thing (except wishing the night could last forever!). We dreamed of a cozy Christmas-winter vibe for our wedding, and Newport Vineyards brought it to life in the most magical way. Our ceremony was held in the stunning wine barrel room, which was intimate, warm, and beautifully set for the occasion. The ambiance alone was worth every penny, but the food and drinks were what truly blew everyone away. Our guests are still raving about the food! The bacon-wrapped scallops were heavenly, the handmade pasta stations were a huge hit, and the late-night crab rangoons were the perfect touch to keep the energy going. One guest even said, "Impeccable espresso martinis and Pinot Noir"—and we couldn’t agree more. The vineyard’s wine selection, paired with perfectly crafted cocktails, kept our guests smiling all night. The staff at Newport Vineyards truly made the experience unforgettable. Jenna, our coordinator, was a dream to work with. She made all the planning decisions feel easy and stress-free, and her attention to detail ensured everything was exactly how we envisioned it. Nick, our catering manager, orchestrated the evening seamlessly, and we never had to worry about a thing. The bartenders were not only talented but also so much fun, adding to the festive atmosphere. A special shoutout goes to Jeannene, our VIP server, who went above and beyond to take care of us throughout the night. From making sure we always had a drink in hand to ensuring we had time to eat and enjoy ourselves, she was simply amazing. Our only complaint? The night ended too early! We didn’t want the party to stop because everything was so perfect. If you’re looking for a Newport wedding venue that delivers exceptional service, unforgettable food and drink, and a truly magical atmosphere, look no further than Newport Vineyards. It’s everything you could want and more!

It’s been a while since we’ve been to NV’s and wow has it expanded (now includes a brewery). For those that haven’t been, the grounds are absolutely beautiful and a great setting for a nice lunch. We started with drinks which for me was a beer sampler , 4 of my choice. While good, none were to the level of IPA’s I seek out. The wines too are just okay, but to level set, RI is not a vineyard destination state. The food was very good, as we ordered the brisket sandwich (yum!!) and the roast beef sandwich, my pic shows half of each as my buddy and I split it. My wife got the roasted chicken which while good, was somewhat dry. While my buddies wife got a hummus, vegan dish which supposedly was good. While it was not an amazing culinary event, we had a wonderful time and will return again.

Google
Beautiful grounds and both indoor /outdoor seating, and they have blankets!!! Incredible variety of beer / wine / cider and more. Gina is a pleasant ray of sunshine and wicked fast with the pours, we got 2 flights and couldnt be happier. Will definitely be back!

Google
Beautiful and very welcoming place to come if you are in Newport. The food exceeds my expectations with very fair prices, I loved they have their own beers, wines and also produces their own locally sourced ingredients (including vegetables, fruits and greenhouse). We ate the best Caesar salad EVER. We also did the vineyard tour, you can choose 4 wines to taste in the entire menu and it was such a great experience. The place is very familiar, there are a lot of gifts options in the store and they are big Star Wars fan which I LOVED!

At last night's dinner with colleagues, upon entering, I noticed an unusual fish odor. Since it was nearing closing time, the staff seemed eager to wrap up. Our waitress, Amber, was friendly and checked on us frequently. The food was nicely presented, although my steak was slightly overcooked for my taste. Fortunately, the wine flight improved the experience, offering a chance to explore new flavors. I particularly enjoyed the lemon-infused wine. The homemade ketchup was unique but acceptable, although having regular ketchup as an alternative would have been preferable. Despite this, it was a generally positive experience. Additionally, their gift shop was quite impressive.

Google
Newport Vineyards was the PERFECT venue for our wedding. Not only was the staff so communicative, professional, and the BEST - the food was unbelievable. It's been almost three weeks since our wedding and guests are still raving about how delicious everything was. We are so appreciative and eternally grateful to Newport Vineyards for making our wedding day so easy, effortless, and beautiful. We love you guys! XOXO Lucie & Mike 8.17.24

Yelp
I was very please with our visit! We were excited to come during our RI trip and it was worth it. Easy parking, indoor and outdoor seating with a large gift shop, we loved it. I cant speak to the restaurant but I really enjoyed our tasting and snacks. If you can snag a chair looking out a the vineyard its a wonderful afternoon spot to hang out and chat. I also appreciated the wine tasting was a pick your own wine to try. That makes the experience infinitely better in my opinion. A bit confusing as you walk inside as the tasting room is in the very back with little to no signage.

Elianny S.

Yelp
This place is quite large, there is a spacious dining area on top, the wine tasting downstairs by the vineyard, a store and event space. The decor is rustic, with dark wood paneling and comfy leather couches by the entrance. We were a group of 6 and when we were seated the air conditioner was dripping water on one side of the table. Our server was very attentive and came over right away and we moved to a different table. The menu is pretty varied, they have a farm to table concept so the food is locally grown and changes often depending on what's available. We ordered a variety of dishes including the motha clucka, roasted eggplant, yellowfin tuna, burger and the half chicken. The half chicken takes 30 minutes to make but I thought it was worth the wait. The chicken was well seasoned, crispy skin and came with mashed potatoes on top of a delicious sauce. I tried some of the burger and thought it was also pretty good. My friend said the chicken in the motha clucka sandwich was a bit dry and the roasted eggplant was somewhat underwhelming. The yellowfin tuna was very good. Some of us tried out the wine flights which I definitely recommend if you want to taste different wines. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food.

Yelp
My husband came to the vineyard on a Saturday at 4pm. We bought a glass of wine and proceeded outside to walk along the vines. The vines are absolutely stunning and create beautiful photo ops. We then went upstairs to the restaurant for our 5:15pm reservation. We each ordered a flight for a wine tasting. We ordered the pretzels and the spinach dip to start. The pretzels were amazing. We loved the mustard that accompanied them. For our meals, we each ordered a half roasted chicken which came with mashed potatoes and zucchini. It was delicious and exactly what we needed after sampling all those wines. We then proceeded to the store and purchased a bottle of the Pinot Grigio. It's funny because my husband and I are both red wine drinkers, but we absolutely loved the Pinot Grigio! Definitely try it!'

Jonas A.

Yelp
One trusim is that the quality of the wine is inversely proportional to how fancy the tasting facility is. The facility and the grounds are spectacular, and the wine isn't. As a life-long Californian I'm spoiled with wineries that produce a seemingly endless stream of decent to excellent wine. I don't know if it's a matter of terroir, climate, or winemaking skill, but the wines here leave much to be desired. We tried tasting all the reds and we dumped all of them. I suggest sticking to the brewery side and try your luck there.

Yelp
Bought tickets to attend the Harvest Fest this weekend on Sunday! It was a great Fall afternoon with great live music, axe throwing, food and beer, wine and cider tasting stations. They had grape stomping and stein holding events too! Fun was had by all! Even on the last day of the weekend events, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable! Looking forward to next year!

Yelp
Never had any food but looks tremendous. Flights of wine are fantastic and a nice beer selection. Service and people all are friendly, and a beautiful building with nice fire pits outside. The blueberry cider is a delicious option and great date spot with plenty of parking.

Yelp
Recently had a very underwhelming experience. While it's a beautiful location and the wine is good for the East Coast, Newport Vineyards has to step up their casual food offerings for folks who are visiting and expecting winery vibes. The restaurant onsite is run by a James Beard Finalist, but if you aren't at the restaurant, the food comes from a small steel countertop. The items are given to you on a plastic tray and though it looked promising, my taco salad was not good. The salad was wilted and slimy and not washed (still had dirt). And for almost $10, one dish was a single taco. Good vibes, good wine, not so good food (unless you go to the restaurant).

Yelp
Food- Great. Wine - Eh... We dropped in for lunch at the restaurant - you can enter the restaurant from the main entrance (double doors off the parking lot). After being seated, we each ordered a Dutch Baby with a side order of bacon. Okay, this is a nice pancake. Really tasty, and just good. The bacon was bacon - how can you say bacon isn't bad? You can't, so it's good. Service was good, the restaurant looks out over the vineyard tanks and brewery equipment, and is your basic "classy farm" kind of kitch. We liked the food so much that we did a wine flight, which allows you to select 4 different wines - you pick up a card and pencil, and check which ones you want, and then they pour them. You then find a table in the tasting area, and taste them. The wines were okay, but nothing I'd buy. We took a walk through the vineyard, and enjoyed that.

Whisper W.

Yelp
What a fabulous dinner and selection of wines to choose from. I got a flight - Pinot Grigio, Great White, Pinot Grigio Rose, Cabernet. The Great White was my favorite - a bit on the sweet side- but they all were fantastic. I ordered the chowder. It's on the creamy side and the Korean Chicken Noodles. I'm not sure what I expected with the chicken but it did not come out how I imagined it would. It was good but I wouldn't order it again. The service was excellent, the view was beautiful, and their gift shop had lots of choices. I took home 2 bottles of wine and a Tshirt. I would visit again!

Yelp
Had an amazing meal at Newport Vineyards. We booked a 7:45 reservation and ended up staying until closing. The wine flight ($22) paired well with our select 5 cheese plate ($26). The blue cheese was unique and the blueberry compote was super unique. The wine flight offered select your own (4 pours for $22). The great white rose was so enjoyable that I bought a glass ($9) after the tasting. If you arrive early there is a gift shop and typically other bars open, but the location had been reserved for a private party. The service and staff here are phenomenal. Our waiter, Johnathan was exceptional. Best dinner service we had in Newport. This meal was memorable and is a great way to sample wines in a low key atmosphere.

Rainey C.

Yelp
Amazing service, food, and drinks! Came here for a girls night and loved every moment of it. We ordered the Tomato Pasta, Crab Cakes, Beer Battered Haddock, and Chowder to share. On top of that, we got 3 wine flights. My personal favorite for the food was the Crab Cakes. Super fresh and very meaty. The sauce is a bit spicy and pairs well with the crab. The portions are super generous and we were pleasantly surprised when the food was brought out. Cute place and perfect for a group gathering!

Victoria Z.

Yelp
Great go-to winery when in Newport! Went here for a bachelorette trip, and wine was AMAZING. Needed a reservation, even in the off-season it gets busy, so definitely get a reservation when visiting! If you like sweet wine, my favorite was the Island White Good food selection, you can have a whole meal or mini cheese board for a bit. Great to go in big groups and small groups. Staff was great and we had amazing quick service! Must go if in Newport!

Shawn K.

Yelp
Wow! This place is absolutely fantastic. From the friendly staff who gave our tour, to the wine selection, and to their farm to table dishes. We tried the great white, sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio, and the rhody coyote cider during our tasting. All were flavorful and you can taste the hints & undertones of each wine. The food actually was our family's favorite meal of our week staying here. The lamb kofta, burrata, monkfish, and salads were all excellent. The dining area is spacious/clean. Incredible experience all around!

Carlotta C.

Yelp
We had a great experience at Newport Vineyards. Our 6pm reservation allowed us to sit by the vines and enjoy the sunset lights. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. We ordered the Sauvignon blanc which won the RI-grown award, it was nice and crisp. I ordered the burger, which comes on a bolo. I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked and the result was a bit more cooked than I would have liked. It did not come served with any dressing, so I asked for some ketchup and hot sauce. It took a while to come, but I will say it was good. They recommended the in-house made pasta salad as a side so I ordered that for an additional $. The pasta salad was very disappointing, it was squishy and overcooked, and was barely condimented, basically just some vinegar. The cookie skillet was good, though it should have been served with ice cream instead of just whipped cream. Lovely ambiance

Amanda B.

Yelp
I have to say, I wasn't impressed by the food. The menu was unique and I was excited to get my meal but when it came it was underwhelming. The menu listed a lot of flavors but I couldn't taste them when the time came. It was also super expensive and reservations required a credit card which I am not a fan of. Because of how the area is set up, the restaurant is pretty warm because of the open wine tasting room below.

Daniel H.

Yelp
Delicious drinks and food, great service. Love the fireplace! Had the duck confit & pork belly po'boy.

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Newport Vineyards was quite an enjoyable experience! My family and I booked a wine tour and tasting followed by a lunch reservation. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. There's a great variety of wine and cider selections. I loved the Rhody Coyote lemon lime ciderita and Great White Rose. Our lunch was farm to table fresh, too. The gift shop has many unique items. Come ready to sample great wines and taste excellent food! I highly recommend this winery!

Lynn R.

Yelp
Beautiful vineyard with many things to see and do. It's easy to locate and they have ample parking and the operating hours are convenient. They have a beautiful gift shop with many unique gift ideas. I loved all the nods to animal lovers. They have a wonderful place to have lunch and tour the facility. We didn't have time to partake with a flight but will certainly return to do so. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Melissa C.

Yelp
The grounds and atmosphere were very beautiful both times I visited. I've been both when it was crowded and on a slower day like today. Service was good both times with very friendly staff. Wine is moderately priced with a good variety and also a beer selection, it feels like they have something for everyone. The food was very good, though on the pricier side for what it was (thought some might argue that might be expected for a winery). Presentation was great. Would definitely return. It is a great place either for a meal or just to try some wine. Their patio area is lovely.

Diana H.

Yelp
I really enjoyed coming to this vineyard. My husband and I came to do a wine tasting to celebrate our anniversary. I like that they have a variety of games and we were able to stay a while after. We ordered a cheese plate which was delicious and he ordered a beer flight. It wasn't too crowded for a Saturday afternoon.

Maria J L.

Yelp
Food/Drinks: I love the wine flights ! So worth it, and you get to taste a variety of different flavors. I love the options they have for white wine. I would say there food menu is a bit limited with food options, but compared to other wineries in the area they do have a great selection. I think personally love getting a cheeseboard which you also get to select the type of items you'd like, and it's a perfect match with a delicious glass of wine. Location: It has its own parking, and spacious enough where I have never had an issue finding a spot. No parking fee. The inside has a wooded look to it , and you can pick from inside or outside seating overlooking the vinyard. Attire varies I've noticed there isn't a dress code some people will go very dressed up , suits and all and some will go with a sports t-shirt. Definitely a great place for any occasion really , a date , a birthday , a celebration, or just because ! Service: As thus far I have only experienced helpful respectful servers. They usually help me pick my wines, and I really appreciate that. They are usually fairly quick and attentive and because of all these amazing qualities I'll always go back and recommend everyone to try this vineyard.

Joanna P.

Yelp
I was recently talking to a good friend who had come back from a trip to Newport and they mentioned a very similar experience at Newport Vineyards. They spent too much mom a dinner that was mediocre at best. They had a flight and were very underwhelmed. I had thought ours must have been an unusual experience, but they left with the same feeling of disappointment and unmet expectations. They said they also would not recommend.

M T.

Yelp
Decent spot to get a drink and chill. We got a couple of flights and bought some bottles for home.

Michael R.

Yelp
Has more of a brewery or brewpub feel than a winery. Lively and fun, albeit maybe a tad corporate, and aloof. The wine is good, but not necessarily unique or great. A fun place to get together with friends for a happy hour, but not necessarily my first choice for a wine drinking experience. Staff is friendly enough, but I never really got the sense that they were terribly interested in their product or the customer experience. Location is convenient, open, and lively. Would love some different food options for the bar/tasting area.

Simon P.

Yelp
Never expected a winery in Rhode Island, so really surprised to see it on the map and decided to pay it a visit. The outdoor terrace has a great view of the vineyards. They offer a flight of any 4 wines for $22 from their long list of offering covering sparking, whites and reds. It is a hot summer day so I mostly focused on whites. I wasn't expecting much but Tranquility is a really easy to drink and refreshing wine and great for such a hot day! Service is sometimes a bit slow but if you are not in a rush it is all good. Wouldn't compare it with popular wine regions like Napa and Finger Lakes, but it definitely adds charm to Newport and glad that I came!

Caitlin T.

Yelp
We had a great time enjoying a wine flight. Favorites included the Island White and Ice Wine. Staff were friendly and attentive, and even in the winter, there was lots of gorgeous natural light that filled the oak wood interior.

Kay D.

Yelp
The food was better than I was expecting. Ordered the crispy chicken "Badmotherclucker" sandwich and added the warm pretzels as an appetizer. Both were decent and the homemade biscuit the chicken was on really made the sandwich stand out. Wait staff was very polite and professional. The wine was good. But with the live music and the vineyards as a backdrop, you're really there for the overall experience.

Julie S.

Yelp
We came for Sunday Brunch in the summer. The menu changes slightly since they use fresh ingredients. The ketchup was homemade and it tastes soooo much better than over the shelf ketchup. I can't even eat that type of ketchup now. My husband and I shared the mimosa flights and they were good. Unfortunately i didn't know that the champagne wasn't made in the vineyard. Otherwise I would have ordered the regular wine flights to taste their wines. The homemade strawberry soda was good, the grape juice was good. Those two mimosa mixes were my favorite. The omelets taste good, light and used fresh ingredients. The chorizo tasted good. The Server and bartender was friendly.

H W.

Yelp
Restaurant Week. Menu, Service. Selection. It was a bit cold inside but we enjoyed the olives, cheeseboard, shawarma, chocolate cake and a few flights. Bought some swag in the extensive retail store as well.

Jason R.

Yelp
Hannah our server was amazing from start to finish!! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive! A+ and definitely a keeper! Kudos to her as well as management and ownership who brought her on and trained her! Truly the best experience that we've had so far and will definitely be back!

Cheyenne B.

Yelp
Came here on the weekend to try out some local wines as an out of towner. Definitely get why this place is popular - the layout and space they have is pretty cool. You walk through all the equipment and tanks where they are brewing different alcohols. And you get to sit or lay if you want in the between the vines. This place does get crowded and doesn't have much seating, so my enjoyment dwindled when I realized I would be standing for the duration of my visit. It was hot and sunny so not having any shade in the backyard area wasn't great either. Super easy to order and they work fast. Would still come back, maybe just get their early or bring a blanket with ou.

Kamal B.

Yelp
So overall...it's mid! Maybe we got the wrong dishes but yeah...definitely won't be getting the same items. The spinach dip wasn't too bad but the chips were just too salty. Don't get me started on the motherclucker sandwich...when they it's on a biscuit, BEWARE it's dry!!!!! Really wish they would incorporate some type of sauce into the sandwich to even out the dryness (not only the biscuit but also chicken). Please add a sauce and definitely get rid of the house chips...not good at all. If you're gonna go, vibes ARE definitely nice and you can place games while eating! And hey, they might mess up your order (which they did) and not serve your drinks after 40min you ordered (which they did), but hey, that's this place! :)

Sammi M.

Yelp
I came here with a bachelorette party and reserved a table for 6. There was a great number of options to choose from including beer and wine, as well as a good lunch menu. The wine is good, especially if you prefer whites, they have the largest selection of those. The food was also good, for the price I do wish I got more but I remind myself I am in Newport. Our server was so friendly and made sure to check on us often. Overall a great time with a beautiful setting. I recommend a stop in!

Amanda W.

Yelp
This place is SO cool and I wish we had someone like this near me. Sat on the terrace and it was wonderful, great views and we went on a day with perfect weather. They have SO many wine options, I'm not even a white wine girly but I loved all the whites that I tried. I also had to get a brewery flight because it's so cool that they have both options here. Cheese plate was delish too!

Jennie S.

Yelp
I came here for dinner for my friends birthday, and this place is so gorgeous and fun. They have lots of drinks to pick from like winds and beers are made at the house. Their food was also really good. I got the mac & cheese with bacon and egg came with a really nice bread crumb finish on the top it was delicious. For the table we also got some appetizers that were really really good. Honestly everything that came to our table was delicious and perfect. Our waiter was super nice very conversational, and was able to make decisions for us when we asked for his recommendations I would 100% come back here

Mel K.

Yelp
I'm writing this a couple days later so I hope I got our servers name correct ~ Valerie? She was a sweet young woman who took time and care with us to make the best selections. Many of the wines in this area are in the dry side and she offered a selection of her personal favorites on the sweeter side. The choices were excellent. We also opted for the 5 cheese board option & asked her to choose her favorites or allow the kitchen to. We were completely open to suggestions. We especially enjoyed the toast, blackberry jam, honey and apple slices paired with our cheese choices. All of the cheeses were a taste adventure and complemented the wines. There was good music playing and the dining area, where we were seated, provided a nice view of the vineyard. We truly enjoyed ourselves here and ventured over to the market as well. There were many adorable options to remember your visit to the area or get as a gift.

T. G.

Yelp
Very cute spot! Large space indoor for dining - we each started with a glass of their local beer/wine and ordered baked Camembert to share. It was good! Also tried the chowder, very good and burrata. As a main I split a burger (we opted for a double patty) service was very nice and would absolutely recommend! Others tried caesar salads and sandwiches. They have a really huge gift shop with a lot of wine and great gifts. I also saw they had a cute outdoor space for lounging / eating out back! Would recommend - little touristy but nice!

Devon F.

Yelp
Fantastic beer, food & ambience. This fun & charming local vineyard/brewery in Portsmouth is right up your alley if you enjoy the above. Their rotations are always changing too. I'll def be back.

Sara B.

Yelp
A lovely experience at Newport Vineyards! This is a winery andddd a brewery, so the tasting options are certainly overwhelming! The space is absolutely massive, both indoors and outdoors. You can find several different bars / seating areas, a large indoor restaurant area, various outdoor patio seating areas and a big shop where you can snag wine and tons of other local gifts. Despite all of the space it does get crowded! We came in because it wasn't a beach day and we weren't the only ones. Every table was filled! You can make an advance reservation online but it does require a cc. Eats are great. The menu is large and has a mix of everything, even lots of healthy farm to table options. We did not opt for healthy, whoops. Next time! The meatball pizza was a little overly cheesy / greasy for my liking, but was still solid. The pretzels were incredible and came with cheese and mustard for dipping. The musard was so good that I even looked for it in the gift shop afterwards. No dice unfortunately. I didn't try my husband's short rib sliders, but they came with the most delicious kettle cooked chips. I washed everything down with a sweet and tangy rose -- perfect for a hot summer day. It's hard to spend every day on the beach, so this is a really nice option if you want to do something different. Especially if you want to try some local wine / beer.

Melissa P.

Yelp
With a view of the beautiful vineyards, you can't go wrong with the many dining options here. If you take anything away from this review, know this: always make reservations.. We made reservations at the winery's tap room on the patio and were fortunate enough that the grille was going... the food was great- it was smaller plates but delicious nonetheless. The wine tasting was a little confusing as far as the flow, but we figured it out. And nothing beats being able to borrow a blanket from their basket and sit amongst the grapevines. It was glorious! We have also made reservations for the restaurant. Overlooking the vineyard, you can't go wrong with this view either. Laid back and a great menu, this is how we like to spend our Sunday afternoons. With many food options for all kinds of palates, we haven't found anything we don't like. And the wine... well that's what keeps us coming back. Nothing better than local wine. I'm not sure if Taproot is a separate restaurant on here, but we've experienced that dining as well (with reservations) and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Serving me the best burger I've had in Newport, there were also many options here as well. The vibe was a little different than the Winery restaurant, but just as enjoyable. All three are fantastic options for whatever occasion you are celebrating. We will be back soon!

Yelp
This place was nice because you could get wine or beer depending on your tastes. As a result, my boyfriend and I decided to split one of each. Service in the gift shop was friendlier than behind the bar. Prices were slightly high. No food was available on day of visit. Inside and outside were both nice areas to sit in.

Yelp
I loved this vineyard/ brewery! SO pretty!! Walk in thru the gift shop then go thru the beer tanks and you walk out onto the back patio right into these beautiful vineyards! We went for a special July 4th BBQ where they served some fun drinks, a froze rose popsicles and frozen sangria, I tried both, yum! Lol I think the best part is the view, it's so pretty back there, they have chairs in the shade and cornhole, they serve food too, they were doing bbq for this event burgers, big pretzels, pasta salad stuff like that I thought the food was ok, but we all enjoyed our time here!

Yelp
FIRST OF ALL.....this place is huge and lots of growing grape vines on the property. Had a wonderful lunch on the patio today and I chose to have Apple Cider to start then Pastrami Rachel! That sandwich was the VERY BEST PASTRAMI BETWEEN TWO TOASTED BUTTERY THICK CRUSTED BREAD! I am not exaggerating when I say that my sandwich was cooked to perfection- juicy moist tasty bark and sliced generously! So, my other dining guests had exceptional sandwiches also but I can only comment on my lunch. Service was polite prompt and extremely pleasant for a well trained young man. Basking in the sun on the patio over looking the vineyards was ideal. The whole time was very impressed and glad we stopped here! The gift shop had so many wonderful items to shop, plenty of parking and I hope to return the end of the month. I want a repeat of this experience!

Yelp
If you are in town to experience "Newport," DO NOT miss this excellent establishment. Been ther twice, so far, and each dining experience has been delicious. In particular, the New England Clam Chowder is outstanding!!! I have tried the Chowder at Black Pearl, and Mooring's, and this is very superior. The Vineyard prides themselves that everything is fresh and made on site, and it clearly shows. Food sampled: several pizzas, Clam Chowder and pastrami sandwich. All selections have been excellent. Last visit I requested the covered patio seating area. Don't miss this place. BTW- the best lobster roll in Newport is at Eastons Beach snack shop (many locals say this is the best kept secret in Newport!). Get the larger 9" roll that's called the "Plain and Simple" lobster roll. Truly an excellent lobster roll!

Yelp
Had a nice meal here. Ordered a flight of wines, cheese board, sirloin steak special and dessert plate. Food was good. Place was quiet for a Saturday night. They have some festive decorations that makes it feel cozy.

Yelp
I recently attended a gorgeous wedding here! The ceremony was held out in the wine vineyard, which had beautiful green scenery. The reception space could not have been more perfect for an early fall wedding; lots of wood beams, cast iron chandeliers and garage doors that open up to a nice patio area, which worked out great with the weather. The decor had lots of feather elements, which I loved and thought it brought together the fall theme nicely. The food was delicious. Lots of passed apps that came around several times (sometimes they don't come around enough!). I think my favorite were the lamb meatballs. A classic garden salad was the first course and I got the chicken entree for dinner. Both were a much larger portion size than expected in comparison to other weddings I went to recently. The chicken had mushrooms on it (which I love!) and mashed potatoes on the side. For dessert, what could be more "fall-ish" than apple cider donuts?! I loved the whole experience of being a wedding guest here. If i wasn't already married, I would definitely consider having a wedding here!

Yelp
Disappointed. My smoked chicken lunch consisted of undercooked potato salad , dreadful corn bread and 2 scrawny whole legs which had a tasty krispy skin but little meat. There house made non alcoholic beer was awful. Ditto for weak hibiscus tea. Fortunately the waitress offered a beer sample before I committed. She was fine but the wait for food at a late lunch with few customers was puzzling. The setting is lovely.

Yelp
The vineyard itself is beautiful. While in Newport we did the wine tour and tasting. The wine was very good, they give you a long list of wine to choose from for the tasting. The great white is said to be the most popular and was by far my favorite. The food was good, more like pub food but it's nice to have some food options to choose from if you are doing to spend the day enjoying the wine they serve. If you enjoy wine and are in Newport it is worth checking out!

Yelp
The perfect place for a little change of pace experience in the middle of a busy weekend. They have indoor and outdoor dining, the indoor having a more formal and robust menu and the outdoor area having grill/bar style food. We started indoors and got the fish taco and the pork tenderloin. The pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked medium and so flavorful and tender, which is difficult for such a lean piece of meat. There was an Asian influence to the dish with spicy roasted cabbage (reminded me of a bit like kimchi, but much milder) and some wontons. The fish in the taco was meaty and it was crusted with a cornmeal mixture. It was unique, but felt like it needed more of a kick or seasoning. We then went outdoors where we just relaxed with drinks and enjoyed the weather. Plenty of standing area. People were sitting on the grass and on lawn chairs that were there. Just an overall wonderful time. We will be back!
