You are getting excellent quality ingredients and some great dishes reminiscent of Margaret. The only let down was the parmigiana which felt like it didn’t belong with its lack of execution. Despite the far more casual ambiance of the restaurant, the prices are the same as Margaret. We were also seated all the way at the back of the restaurant despite the place being half empty. Personally, I would just go to Margaret next time.

Next Door Double Bay is a great casual dining spot with a fantastic wine list and delicious food. The relaxed atmosphere makes it an enjoyable place to unwind. However, the tables were spaced quite close together, and at times it felt like we were sharing a conversation with the table next to us. Despite that, the overall experience was positive, and I’d still recommend it for the food and wine alone!

Burgers were excellent, with the must have being the cheeseburger. Staff were friendly but not especially attentive. Seating could be more comfortable. A good meal, but prices a bit high for a casual venue.

Next Door in Neil Perry’s precinct is a fantastic wine bar and eatery in Double Bay, Sydney. Their classic CopperTree Farms burgers and chips are excellent with a great food menu including cocktails. Their staff are friendly, providing an excellent service that gives a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Nice experience at Next Door. The table service is fast and the kitchen service is even faster. We ordered a range of small plates and most were tasty. The one draw back was the prawn cutlets that were crumbed and deep fried - not what we were expecting and it had no actual flavour in either the prawn or the crumb. The eggplant parmigiana was delicious.

Unfortunately not at the level you expect! The waitress didn’t have idea on what was inside the beef sandwich, keep asking me if I had any allergies. The Barman didn’t share one word with me the entire meal at the bar and gave me half drink instead of one. The cold salad kitchen counter is under any rules of cross contamination and hygiene. The chef was super fast executing the orders, the food is good, but he was definitely the only good thing. The company owns the restaurant beside and the bakery next door. The probably want to use this place to seat down the “second class” people who probably for them do not deserve the same service of the main restaurant.

Having been here and to Margaret, this basically feels like Margaret-lite. There is crossover from the Margaret food / drinks menu but with the addition of the traditional hamburger on offer here. Food and drinks were good but expensive relative to what was provided. Service was hit and miss, started well but trailed off as they got busier both inside and outside. Visiting on a hotter day also found the inside air-conditioning struggling to keep up.

Been a few times now and keep coming back. The crab pasta or the cheeseburger with an extra patty & chilli are the go-to’s. Keys with this are to ask for free tap water because the others aren’t free, and that bread is $3 per person, so pay $3 and get as much as you want, unlimited, with the salted butter and when it’s fresh from Baker Bleu you do just that, I don’t think many know this or they don’t care. The wait staff are the best down to earth people you’d meet. Not sure why this place is at 3.9 star currently or there’s a few bad reviews, maybe because the usual patron that dines in the more expensive type of restaurants are a very peculiar & needy bunch, I’m not sure. If you’re complaining about the price I’m not sure why you’re going out in Double Bay for dinner? Try Homebush Bay instead. Always a solid dining experience.
