Nguyen’s Kitchen is located in a small plaza with other Asian restaurants and sandwich shops, making it a convenient stop if you are already in the area. We ordered the grilled pork banh mi and the grilled pork rice bowl. The sandwich had a few positives and a few misses. The bread was toasted and soft, which made it easy to eat without tearing up your mouth, but it lacked the crisp outer crust that I personally enjoy in a banh mi. The cucumbers were fresh, and the pork was well marinated, but the pickled vegetables were lighter than expected and did not provide enough acidity. Overall, it did not quite hit that classic Vietnamese banh mi flavor profile. The rice bowl was more disappointing. The pork itself was fine, but the rice was noticeably dry, which took away from the dish. Service was also on the slower side. While we were waiting, six out of six customers who came in after us ordered the PUR bowls, which makes me think those may be the items this place is better known for. Ambiance was just okay. There is indoor seating available, but the space feels designed for quick turnover, with hard surfaces and minimal cushioning rather than comfort. Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out either. I would not say this is a place I would specifically crave

Overall: - clean food - decent quality to be honest -- Meats, veggies -- the garlic noodles were of a pretty decent quality too - place is clean - price is not too bad given our current economic situation and it is on par with most other similar restaurants Why minus 1 star? - bulgogi felt almost paper thin -- not an adequate amount/portion at that point to be honest - I wasn't too too hungry when I met up with some friends and after getting a bulgogi bowl and spending $20 (bowl plus soda) I was still hungry. 3 out of people still were. So if you're looking for a fairly flavorful light meal this is honestly a good choice.

It was an all the way around great experience! Food was very flavorful and filling! If you are are a Garlic person like myself, you will absolutely enjoy all the different ways they have incorporated the Garlic. We had Garlic noodles with shrimp, steak and egg! Cajun fries with steak and egg! Wings! Definitely will return.

Ambiance: I went midday for lunch, and it was pretty quiet inside. Decent amount of tables for dining in and the decor is so cute, kind of like a fancy cafeteria. Service: Great suggestions, fast service, and really nice! I had no issue and was confident in what I ordered with the cashiers help. Food: The bulgogi sandwich and the cucumber limeade we so good!!! The sandwich was filling, tons of flavor and even tasted good warmed up the next day! I wasn't a fan of the garlic fries, though, lots of garlic, but oddly, no flavor. So garlic breath for nothing, lol. Also all the sauces were really good, I have no idea what there were but I liked them all.

This was our first stop in LA after a friend recommended it to us. We weren't staying in LA and it was on our way from the airport to San Bernardino. We got the Bulgogi Short Rib Steak Sandwich (Banh Mi), Garlic Noodles with Grilled Pork, Popcorn Chicken, Egg Rolls, and Golden Bao. We really loved our meal. My favorites were the two small things - the Golden Bao and the Egg Rolls. The Golden Bao were slightly sweet from being fried and it was perfect. The egg rolls were not what you would usually find at your takeout Chinese restaurant and I think they're the best I've had. I also enjoyed the Garlic Noodles and Popcorn Chicken. The grilled pork was my favorite meat we tried. The popcorn chicken was very moist and we loved the sauce. I was a little disappointed by the banh mi. It was good, but it didn't live up to my favorite banh mi sandwiches. The bread wasn't crispy enough and the pickled veggies had a little too much liquid. This was the perfect first stop on our trip and I'd definitely recommend it!

Love the food and friendly service. Good size portions and very tasty. Unfortunately was too full to try the Pur Bowls. Plus they open late. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area again. Please open a location in Boston.

My wife went with her sister and mom about weeks ago. She brought home garlic noodles and garlic noodles with steak. I was too full when she got home so later in the day I tried the steak with garlic noodles...WOW it was good. So I couldn't wait till we got food from there. Today...06-11-2022 after my nephews graduation, my wife and my kids drove there (only about 5 miles compared to 12-ish miles if driving from home). We got 2 orders of garlic fries, 2 orders of garlic noodles with steak, 1 order of garlic noodles and 2 plain sliders. They gave us some sauces. The brownish was good with the garlic noodles with steak. The greenish not sure did not use it..sort of a little spicy with a sweet taste (Wasabi with mayo?) Also gave us ranch dressing (for garlic fries?) And Sriracha packages and tomato ketchup. **the 2 plain sliders (no onions no mushrooms)...I asked for cheese (they don't have cheese). Well my picky daughter (19 yr.old) didn't like they sprinkled green stuff and then it had a white looking sauce (looks like mayo). But over all. ALL the food was great...coma effect...especially since by the time I write this it's 11:47 pm. Oh...fyi...they are open till 1 am... By the time I wrote this..my son and I were done with the garlic+steak noodles and my wife was done with the garlic noodles..so maybe next time I'll take a picture of that.

Love that I found this place. It's open hella late & the steak bowl is incredible. I stop by at least twice a month. Staff is friendly & bathrooms are always clean. Hope they are around for a long time.

This was my first time ordering food through this app, and I wasn't entirely satisfied with the food itself, but the staff provided excellent service. I'll definitely come back next time

Tell me where else you can get an açaí bowl and a banh mi at 1 AM ? yeah, I'll wait. Exactly. This spot is undefeated. Everything they serve hits, but the açaí bowls are next-level. They stack them high and let you build your own without nickel and diming you for toppings. You can really load it up to its full potential. I love that you can mix bases (two flavors!) and the price difference between a small and medium is just a couple bucks might as well go for the medium. The large might be too much for me,but hey do you! It's one of my favorite late-night spots when I want something healthy but still satisfying. The staff is always nice and quick I've never had to wait long except that one time I ordered noodles (which were actually bomb by the way). But if you're here for the açaí bowls you're in for a treat. The banh mi also holds its own fresh, flavorful, and totally worth it. Overall, this place is a hidden gem that keeps me coming back for my late-night fix.

Really cute space! I truly do love the ambience. However, I've had two shrimp rice bowls from two places. I go here for convenience when i sometimes see one - I'm gluten free and can't do soy sauce. Anyway, there's maybe 5-6 shrimp (heads up, that it's skin on) and it's super dry. The ratio of shrimp and veggies to rice is super off. There's lots of rice. The sauces that come with this one doesn't seem to fit. I'd love to try the other things...because there's so many Nguyen kitchens around... but i haven't been too impressed yet

Had to make a quick stop in the shopping mall for the Tesla supercharger, so we did a little walk and we stumbled upon this little spot. Wanted a quick bite and refresher, so I got their popcorn chicken, extra spicy and crispy!! Gotta love the crunch! Just missing some xtra coriander leaves. Their coffee is strong and did the job for a Sunday midday pick me up. Staff were nice and very considerate in asking me if I needed any sauces to go with my popcorn chicken. What accompanied the chicken was some sort of jalapeño sauce, I believe it was their house sauce. It was a bit tangy and spicy, it was a nice touch with the chicken. However, would like to come back again and check out their entrees!

I was so sad when they closed the Chino location.. I happened to be in the area to stop by this one for a quick lunch. Food is great but, my all time favorite item that use to be on the menu is no longer offered. I'm not sure if I will be coming back to any of their locations after this. I remember I use to order different proteins with different dishes, mixed and matched. A specific protein for their sandwich wouldn't be on the protein list for their garlic noodles and I would request it. They never have an issue writing it in their special request. Garlic Chicken Breast is no longer on their menu.. Chicken was juicy, saucy and plenty of garlic flavor. It is paired with sautéed mushroom. It was chef's kiss.. Imagine that over top of garlic noodles with special aioli sauce, garlic lover's dream. Garlic Noodles (with House Chicken)- just didn't hit the same. Chicken was dry.. not much flavor. Only thing that saved this was their special aioli sauce, of course I asked for extras! Bulgogi Short Rib Steak (Rice Bowl)- tender and flavorful. Solid rice bowl. Cajun Garlic Fries - wasn't as crispy as I'd like. More soggy than crispy.

This was a really great place! I really like that they have the smoothie bowl bar connected as well! I got a really good matcha bowl

this is my go to spotlight at night when I feel like just taking a drive and having something to drink, they have so much good stuff here. I believe they're open till 1 AM. Sometimes I can't sleep and I come here. I always get the cucumber lemonade and I have it with the mango drink so good. Food here is amazing. Must try.

I've been here several times from the afternoon or late night and their signature sandwiches and rice bowls weren't that good, it was always way too salty. It was either salty or the portion size was never consistent. The only menu item that really stayed consistent was their Crawfish Pasta. Their crawfish pasta is slightly sweet and a bit of spice which is great. Back then, their crawfish pasta had a good amount of sauce but it seems with inflation, it'll be less sauce or it'll depend on their cook. To me, their service wasn't all that welcoming and more of a take-out experience. The ambiance inside is just ok, their tables are weirdly always sticky which is why I never dine-in. I recommend their Specialty items on their menu if anything.

2/5 - Man oh man... The girl at the front was nice. I asked for her favorite item and ordered that along with a Thai tea. The tea was okay, not overly sweet, which I didn't mind. It's very casual. You pick up your order at the front and stack trays over the trash bins when you're done. The space was clean, with tables lined up against the wall. I got the garlic noodles with bulgogi short rib steak, and honestly, I was disappointed. The so-called "short rib steak" was not short rib or steak. It looked like thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin. For the price, I would've rather eaten somewhere else. The bulgogi flavor was basic, sweet, didn't have any depth... think of it as if you're eating a sweet version of Yoshinoya's beef, except you know what you signed up for when eating there. The garlic noodles lacked any real garlic flavor... or flavor in general. They also gave me two sauces: one green & mildly spicy, the other looked like teriyaki (it didn't rlly taste like it IMO). I couldn't figure it out, and neither paired well with the noodles or the meat. If you're someone who won't leave your bubble to go try good Asian food down in Gardena, K-town, OC, or Pasadena, then sure, go at it. Side note: They also sell açaí bowls, but I'm not sure if that's a separate business since it had its own name, even though the same staff was handling both. Not sure if it was good (I purchased it for someone else), but they had a lot of cool varieties of topping and flavors.

As a fast food Asian fusion spot this was a pleasant surprise! It's a small spot at the end of a row of small spots in a mall. This is a busy parking lot but it's not difficult to find parking, there's a lot of in and out movement. The golden baos are FIRE! It's a ground pork filled deep fried bun. Delicately sweet and savory. The NK Wings good? They're very lightly breaded and crispy. The light green sauce is tangy and has quite a bit of a kick on the backside. The garlic noodles were tasty but over cooked and a little soft for me. The shrimps are also lightly breaded and fried. I'm a shell eater, I like fried shrimps with the shells on. These seemed like they might have been pre-cooked and sitting as they weren't crispy enough. The Cajun fries were crisped well! I like that, they were a bit salty and could have used a little more Cajun spice. The eggrolls were decent, a little more meat would be nice.

Great choices for lunch and or dinner. I had the crabmeat pasta for lunch. Very filling. Next time I'm going to try one of their rice bowls...looks very healthy. They also have fruit bowls. Great find. Open late. Great place to enjoy great food.

First time trying this place I Got the steak bowl 7.5/10 But the açaí but was a solid 10/10

Foods good but Mia needs some serious reconsideration of employment, I've witnessed making orders to go wearing no gloves and constantly touching her hair that's down, disgusting and disappointing just like her attitude as well. Wasn't even asked " what can I get you " but a blank stare. Weird behavior.

What a surprise. We just stopped in as a last min choice for a quick dinner before the movies for Father's Day. We left satisfied and delighted. It's a pretty cozy spot, was quiet when we got there but got louder as people showed up. It was clean and well kept, has a nice to go station by the door in case you don't finish all the goodies. The garlic noodles, chicken, steak and shrimp were all tasty! The Cajun fries were super crispy and fresh. That being said, I think the fries could use a bit more seasoning imo. Overall the service was pretty quick, for the amount of food we ordered. We ordered quite a bit, it came out with in 20 mins I believe. We ate it all, it was delicious. I love that they're open late, so we're definitely coming back at some point.

I had a great time here. The food was just splendid and fresh. The service is really professional and respectful. The ambiance is really cool too! 5 stars definitely.

Quick walk up service and tasty garlic noodles! A star was removed because everything was very tasty, but it was not super memorable and all the beverage options where all presweetened and a little too sweet. There was no special unsweetened beverage options which would have been a plus. Place and bathroom was clean. Worth it for a quick solid bite!

This location is just nasty. Idk I've given it a try more than once and each time I was disappointed. I love Nguyen's, but this location has me away for a while. I ordered the garlic noodles with chicken and the garlic noodles with jumbo shrimp. The noodles were just awful. I've been here before on a late night. Maybe it's the time I come. But yea, no. I felt bad my bf didn't enjoy his food . He only ate the shrimp and I only ate a bit of my chicken.

The food was great...service was 1 star. We undersand they're young adults, but a quick acknowledgment would be nice. There was one girl making pur bowls and one guy just standing, he could have taken our order. The girl did apologize for having us wait and we told her not to worry about it. We did wait about 5 minutes before ordering. It's pretty busy here, noise level is medium. Parking lot is big. Food is good here.

This is not a sit down restaurant where servers bring food to the table. You order your food at the counter and pick it up after when your number is called. This place was close by to my work so I stopped by to try this garlic noodles, sliders, and popcorn chicken. Food was delicious, noodles were a bit oily but flavorful. I got the jumbo tiger shrimp with garlic noodles and BE WARNED!!! The shrimp is not jumbo sized. It is regular size shrimp. It felt it was overpriced for the portion. Sliders was ok, decent. Popcorn chicken was tasty and freshly fried. Crispy and juicy.

The crawfish pasta is very delicious. There garlic noodles with shrimp is also good. However, there wings are no longer good like it use to be. The wings now are over cooked and dry. Other than the wings everything else is pretty good. The price is very affordable. Service is great.

Came here with my husband and we were both pretty disappointed. I got the garlic noodles with extra shrimp on the side which was $8. It was a bit much. The noodles were also just super mid. The food wasn't awful, it was just super overpriced for super duper mid food.

The employees were really nice and service was great given it being a fast casual type restaurant. It was pretty empty but it was very modern and empty when I went. However the food was just pretty unimpressive, I was looking forward to all we ordered and it all missed for me, nothing terrible but given the price I can't say I'd recommend.

Wow! This is a great place to stop when you are in a hurry but don't want fast food. The garlic noodles were great! There are so many things in the menu I hope to try more in the future.

I only get the grilled chicken plate. It's so gooood I love the green sauce. And the sliders are really good too.

The garlic noodles are fire! By that I mean delicious. We had them cater for our party at my complex. Nothing short of flavor. We went the next day to try them out.

So good, the food was great and I like the newest location! The original in Anaheim will always be my favorite.

This place was open CRAZY late! Haha. It's just hard to find an Asian place that's open so late but I'm glad this one was. This place for me gets 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the banh mi. I got the chicken and pork banh mi. This was probably my favorite out of all the things I got. I really like the meat, its so flavorful. For the banh mi I think it deserves 4 stars. I also got the fries with bulgogi beef and the chicken wings. I wanted to try the sliders so I got that as well. The fries were really good by itself. The chicken wings were ok. However I really enjoyed the jalepeno sauce they had. I couldn't give this place 4 stars in totality bc the sliders was too sweet. Very sweet. It wasn't my cup of tea. The young lady at the cashier was very friendly and nice. The inside was clean and so was the bathroom. If I go and watch a football game. I'll definitely stop by here again.

I wrote a review some months ago. Idk what happened to it. Anyway, what happened guys???? I'm leaving 4 stars because I loved my food! I'm a big fan of Nguyen's kitchen. No matter what location I've been to, it's always a great experience. Call me cheap or whatever but the reason I'm not leaving 5 stars is because it's waaaaaay over priced. Before I get there let me say that I've been to this location a few times and service is always good. Restaurant is clean and the they're open late! Now, this is possibly the last time I go to any NK. Yea man, $18 for garlic noodles? That's insane. I go to Vietnamese restaurant all the time. I drive a truck for a living so I'm all over the place. I know what food should cost and why. And uhh, noodles are cheap, veggies are cheap, pork is cheap. So why am I paying $18 for garlic noodles with pork? Idk I've had the same dish at different spots for waaaay less I'll give you your well earned 4 stars. But I'm done here. The Banh mi is over priced too. So is everything else. Quality of ingredients might be there. But again, $18? Nah. It's been great, but I'll just go to other places. Keep up the good work. I will miss you. Others will support, I can't no more. Thanks for the good food and good times.

I ordered two of the Bulgogi Steaks with Garlic Noodles along with a fried egg. I'd give the food a solid 9/10 only because the portions could've been larger but that's not a serious issue because it was filling for what it was worth. It took approximately 15-20 min for my order to come through. They also have some tables inside so you can dine in if you wish.

This right here? Bomb af! The ambiance in there was very bright and inviting. I had the Peach Lychee and my hubs had the Vietnamese Coffee, both were ahhhmazing. The peach lychee was refreshing af, I thought I was floating after the first sip. Hubby's coffee was creamy and good af. I wanted both for myself but I guess I'll let him have it this one time. We had the Garlic Noodles w/Bulgogi, Bulgogi Rice Bowl, Chicken Wings with Fries and the Egg Rolls. EVERYTHING HIT! They didn't miss not once. The portions are enough to feed a family of 4 but it was just us two, so what that say about us? We greedy, exactly. The crunch on them wings and egg rolls were .. chefs French kiss. That thang was tooooo goood. 1837382 out of 10! Take your girl there so she can see you as someone who has good taste.

I got a pork banh mi to go between clients and was so happy to find this spot. I also got a Thai tea. It was ready when I arrived. The sandwich and thai tea went perfectly together and I was energized for the remainder of the day. It was the perfect lunch and I'm happy I found this where I did. Finally something different for the area. It was a quiet and chill environment and it was well received for me. I will definitely be back to try other items and hopefully I can eat it there next time.

I feel a bit fooled and a bit foolish. I feel fooled by the photos posted by the business and I feel foolish for thinking our food would come out like those photos- I should have known better from every other food establishment ever. I was super excited for the sliders- the business photos show you overflowing mushrooms and onions and look very tantalizing. There was, in fact, no overflow, much to my disappointment. The sliders did taste good. The price is fair- $7.45 for 2 sliders. They came with 3 sauces- I couldn't decide if I liked the slider more with or without the sauce. The garlic noodles with chicken was $15.45. Pricey for the quantity you get. There was a bit of an oil aftertaste which was unfortunate. The chicken was cooked well. It came served in a tinfoil container which was nice because we didn't have to ask for a separate to-go container. We also got the Cajun fries for $5.95. We got the Cajun spice on the side so our 4 year old could also eat the fries. But she took 1 bite of the fry and said she didn't like them. Not a good sign. We pretty much ate them just to eat them. The seasoning is inconsistent- some fries were covered in garlic and soggy, while others were plainer than plain. The place was empty save 1 other table while we ate. It was pretty cold and unwelcoming. Overall, I wouldn't come back. The photos fooled us once but we won't make that mistake again.

I have to start with the good news here. Service was decent. That's the good news. Bad news now. The food is not good. NOT GOOD!!! And I do not appreciate the prices, either. Portions are smaller than the pictures on their website; they don't look as "pretty" and in Yelp; and for sure the food is NOT fresh made AT ALL. AND THE JUMBO SHRIMP IS NOT JUMBO AT ALL!!! Flavor...? Just ok. Overall... 1.5 stars. DO NOT recommend. Will not go back, for sure.

Was not expecting for this place to be as good as I thought it would... going to be honest. I've never heard of this place and I know after researching they have other locations. I only got to try this place since I was across the street doing a curb-side pick up and just wanted something new. I'm a big fan of Garlic Noodles, so I for sure had to try these out with Bulgogi. The first taste was just full of flavor and right away I placed it on top of my list for Garlic Noodles. I've had other places and it was just missing something or the meat was too tough. But this place was just great all over. Definitely satisfied with meal. Best thing of all its open till 1am, so its a good thing and bad thing lol

Food was ok, not a lot food for the price. My big concern is that fact there was no hand soap in the bathroom. For one I'm eating spicy food and can't wash it off my hands. Second it's very unsanitary to have absolutely no hand soap in the bath room. It's not like they ran out right before I came in, the soap dispenser was bone dry. When I asked about soap the worker just told me they didn't have any. Pretty sad, makes me wonder if the workers are washing their hands if they don't have any soap for the customers.

11:30 lunch on a Sunday. I think it was right when it opened. Layout of of the restaurant is unique, might be they converted another restaurant. Ordered the chicken banh mi, garlic fries, and garlic noodles with pork. The Chicken in the Banh mi was really tasty. I'm not quite sure what the marinade was but super flavorful and went really well with the fresh veggies in the sandwich. I think it may have been one of my favorite Banh Mis I have ever had. Garlic Noodles with Pork. Garlic noodles with super buttery and lots of garlic. Noodles were a little over cooked and mushy but the flavors were great. Garlic Fries. For 5 bucks they give you like 2 large McDonald's size fries. This should be shared with multiple people. Great flavors with parsley and garlic but the garlic doesn't really stick to the fries. Service at this place is excellent. I didn't catch his name but the guy at the front was great. Definitely come here if you are in the area.

This review is solely for the rude customer service on 4/30/24 at 8:00pm. When we walked in the girl at the counter did not greet us. She was talking to another girl sitting by the counter. Did not apologize for not attending us, we waited for 10 minutes with no acknowledgment or apology for the wait. We ended up leaving. I have been at the location in Orange and really liked their açaí bowls, but I'm deeply disappointed in the South Gate location.

We mostly order take outs from this place, clean and timely with friendly service. Food tastes good with ok portions, personally i can eat 2 orders when hungry..good place to try

I had garlic noodles with steaks! It smelled delicious! But was way way way too too salty! I couldn't take more than 5 bites. My friend got crawfish pasta, and again, it was super super salty! I don't think I'm coming back

The food was amazing very good. The service was amazing as well, super nice and very kind. The place was in check, very clean. Got half the menu to try the place out and love eating every single thing. 100% recommend it!!!
