"Named after the owner’s late mother, Madame Lân exudes Hoi An flair with its decor and lanterns. The sprawling yellow house is surrounded by water features, boasting both indoor and outdoor seating. The chef rolls out an extensive culinary lineup that covers every facet of Vietnamese cuisine, including the signature dish of Da Nang: fried fish summer roll. Sautéed beef with pepper elder is also a popular salad dish to tickle your tastebuds." - Michelin Inspector

"Great Food, Fantastic Setting For those who wish to sample a selection of choices from Vietnam's formidable culinary arsenal in a spotless setting, Madam Lan's is by far the best choice in Danang. Housed in a French/Vietnamese colonial mansion, the restaurant does a wide range of classics including noodles, rice, salads and barbecued dishes."

We dined at Madame Lân after hearing a lot of buzz about it being one of the top Vietnamese restaurants in Da Nang. The restaurant itself is spacious, beautifully designed, and definitely gives off that elegant, traditional Vietnamese vibe. We came in with high expectations and ordered a mix of their best-sellers to really get a feel for what they had to offer. Unfortunately, while the presentation and ambiance were impressive, the flavors didn’t quite hit the mark for most of the dishes we tried. The Bánh Xèo was underwhelming.. the batter wasn’t as crispy as expected, and the overall flavor just felt flat. The pork skewers were decent but nothing particularly memorable, and the shrimp spring rolls were okay, though we’ve had better versions elsewhere in the city. That said, there were a couple of standout dishes. The mussels in coconut broth were surprisingly good..the broth was fragrant, slightly sweet, and paired well with the fresh mussels. We also really enjoyed the shrimp and green papaya salad..refreshing, tangy, and just the right balance of flavors and textures. As for drinks, the passion fruit juice was a clear favorite.. tart, sweet, and very refreshing especially in Da Nang’s humid weather. The milk tea was also surprisingly good. The rest of the juices we tried were just average. Service was okay.. not as warm or attentive as other restaurants we visited in the city, but they got our orders right and served everything in a timely manner. Overall, it’s a nice place to try if you’re after a more upscale dining experience, but in our opinion, the food didn’t live up to the hype. We might return for the mussels and salad, but probably not for the rest.

My last visit was 10 years ago and definitely before the restaurant expanded to the scale and popularity it has now earned. Love how the menu has such great variety of food selection and for noodles alone there were over 10 soup noodles selection. Do come visit if you’re after some authentic Vietnamese food.

I came to Madame Lan restaurant excited to try its signature dishes, especially after reading many positive reviews and seeing it was Michelin Selected. But in the end, it was a letdown. The food was disappointingly average, given the high prices. Most dishes were cold and greasy. The bánh xèo was mediocre at best, the vegetables ain't fresh and cleaned, the fried fish spring rolls had turned soft, the grilled squid was noticeably burnt. Even chè khúc bạch, a dessert praised for its delicate chew, was mushy and lacked texture entirely - didn't even care to take a pic. Service was poorly paced - after the first dish, the staff brought out dessert right away, disrupting any sense of a coherent dining experience. The place was crowded, noisy, and uncomfortably hot during Danang summer, which made the whole experience even worse. Overall, not the quality or atmosphere I expected from a restaurant with such a reputation.

Well, what can I say—this place truly lives up to the hype. A Michelin Guide recommended restaurant with a strong reputation, and after dining here, it’s easy to see why. The place is well-staffed, and service is prompt, warm, and attentive without being overbearing. The overall atmosphere is inviting and tastefully decorated, creating a comfortable space to enjoy a meal. But the real highlight is the food. Every dish we ordered tasted fresh, authentic, and full of flavour—clearly crafted with care and a deep respect for traditional Vietnamese cooking. From the perfectly balanced pho to the fragrant grilled meats and vibrant herbs, each bite reminded me of why Vietnamese cuisine is so beloved. It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers such high standards consistently across multiple dishes. Surprisingly, the prices are quite reasonable, especially when you consider the quality of ingredients, the presentation, and the level of service. It’s not a budget spot by any means, but it certainly doesn’t break the bank either. For what you’re getting, it feels like excellent value. The only thing that held me back from giving a full five stars was the Vietnamese coffee. While the flavour was spot-on—rich, bold, and satisfyingly sweet—the portion size was disappointingly small. To make it worse, it didn’t even come with the full traditional setup, which felt like a missed opportunity. Still, I’d absolutely come back in a heartbeat. This is one of those rare spots that delivers on both taste and experience. Highly recommended.

Perfect combination of delicious food, diverse menu, good location, chilling atmosphere and professional service. This Vietnamese restaurant serves local (Central Vietnam) and national (Northern and Southern) dishes, at very high quality. It can be crowded at peak times but you can usually be able to get in without a reservation, just reach to the reception and put your name on the list, generally there should be a table available after 15-30 mins, and there is a nice waiting area as well. Introverts like me really like the way to order, which is simply choose my dishes in a tablet, and the food is being served out quick. It may be a bit pricey in comparison with nearby restaurants, but a somewhat higher price is definitely worth it and I dare to say that the overall experience here is as good as in 5-star hotels, or indeed even more lively. Must-try experience once you are in Da Nang.

Value for money Michelin Selected restaurant serving traditional Da Nang cuisine. We dined in the courtyard surrounded by trees decorated with lanterns. Fantastic ambience especially after the sun set, but not so fun when you have guard against the falling leaves. Banh Xeo was delicious, never would I have thought a pancake would be wrapped. Grateful that server taught us how to eat it. The Quang Nam style fish noodles were very smooth. Recommended.

The food was acceptable, but takes quite a long period to serve each dish. Some seating areas are not spacious, and very noisy if you meet the tours or groups of customers. The ventilation is to be improved, no matter in both indoor air con or outdoor area. Insufficient staff to serve. Electronic menu is good.
