Nhà Tú - Việt Nam Restaurant

The food and service were superb! I ate there alone (remember to book via WhatsApp/Facebook), and it was the best dinner I had during my trip to Ho Chi Minh City. I highly recommend the steamed stuffed snails; ordering this was the best decision I ever made—it was absolutely delicious, a perfect 100! The lady who served me also recommended the Vietnamese mini pancakes, which were also very tasty, 10/10! The spring roll vermicelli were decent; while not as amazing as the first two dishes, I'd still give them a 9/10.

Followed the Michelin guide to this restaurant for some “home cooked” Vietnamese food. It has three floors each tastefully decorated with excellent vibes. Service was attentive. Claypot snakehead fish was succulent, mango chicken feet salad was good as well but the chicken feet was a little rough to bite, little pancakes with shrimps were delicious. Spring rolls with beef were ok. The sauces that come with the dishes were excellent and elevated the taste. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.

Nhà Tú earns its Michelin Bib Gourmand reputation. What impressed me most was the precision of flavor: bright acidity, clean herbs, and deep savory notes without anything feeling heavy or muddy. Each dish tasted intentional—balanced, layered, and very “Vietnamese home cooking,” just sharpened. We did have a small hiccup (the fish didn’t arrive as ordered), but it barely mattered because: • the rest of the table was excellent (crispy bites, a vibrant salad, perfectly garlicky greens, and those shrimp bites were addictive) • the owner handled everything with genuine warmth and professionalism Cozy room, calm service, and food that feels both comforting and elevated. I’d come back without hesitation.

Stopped in at Nhà Tư for dinner and everything felt like true home-style Vietnamese cooking. We had the sour fish soup with pineapple and tomatoes — bright, comforting, and perfectly balanced. The stir-fried vegetables were simple but really well done, still crisp with just the right amount of garlic. The clay-pot dish came out bubbling hot and packed with flavor, the kind of dish that makes you want to eat every last bite of rice with the sauce. I also tried their house drink topped with an edible flower — refreshing, light, and a great match for the food. Cozy space, relaxed pace, and dishes that feel like they came straight from someone’s family kitchen. I’d definitely come back.

The cozy, warm atmosphere and vintage decor made for a truly authentic and peaceful dining experience. Suitable for anyone looking for a relaxed, traditional Vietnamese vibe. Highly recommend to try the braised snakehead fish dish. The fish was tender and flaky, absorbing the rich flavors of the sauce completely. The pork belly pieces added a nice textural contrast and richness to the dish.

Date of visit: June 2025 English menu available. Nha Tu is recognized with a Bib Gourmand by Michelin. I was able to find the location pretty easily. The place is small and does not have much seating. I was here around 2 PM, so maybe the lunch rush was done. There was no wait for a table for two. I may have been judged for ordering too much food: Cha gio (fried spring rolls) 88k VND - good, would recommend Lau hua sua (oyster hot pot) 495k VND - I wish this dish came out earlier. It came out too late. Good to try! Ca loc kho to (braised snakehead fish) 85k VND - eh, I wouldn't order this again. Nac dam nuong mat ong (grilled pork w honey sauce) 105k VND - This dish was ok. Cuon nem nuong (pork spring roll) 25k VND - I wouldn't get this again either. Ok to try. Drinks were ok. Guava juice 50k VND Beer 39k VND They do have Wifi. Need to ask for password. Toilet is upstairs. Be careful the stairs are steep and no railing. Credit card/tap accepted. Service is meh.

The food was nice. We tried bánh xèo, ốc bu nhồi thịt, sườn non ram, bò xào bánh đa, and cơm chiên tỏi, everything was good and didn’t take too long to come out. The prices were reasonable, too. The staff can speak English which is good for foreigners who need recommendations. You should reserve a table if you go there in the evening though because it might get quite crowded.

Great food and service overall. Walked in early without a reservation and got a seat as long as we finish before 8pm. Glad we made it as the dishes were mostly superb. Ordered the snails (5/5), hand roll platter(3.5/5), banh xeo (4/5), prawn sashimi (5/5) and pig’s stomach (4/5). Will definitely be back again when I’m in HCMC in future.
