Ni Hao Chinese Cuisine

We visited Ni Hap in Nunspeet to celebrate Valentine’s Day and what a lovely surprise it was. From the outside and based on the website, I wouldn’t have expected such refined dishes and warm, attentive service. The website feels quite old-fashioned and doesn’t really reflect the modern fine dining experience they actually offer. In hindsight, I shouldn’t have been surprised since they are listed in the Michelin Guide. We chose the 5-course menu and added the Wagyu. Even though I know it’s a fine dining concept, I somehow forgot that it’s still Chinese cuisine — and with five courses plus Wagyu, I was sooo full by the end! Portions were generous in the best way. Not every dish was equally outstanding, but most of them were truly excellent. It was my first time having scallops prepared in that style, and it was such a pleasant surprise. The veal was absolutely amazing — super tender and full of flavor. The Wagyu was slightly below expectations as it was a bit overcooked, but it was still flavorful and enjoyable. Overall, it’s definitely a restaurant worth trying.

Nice and cosy, they’ve earned a Michelin star last year(2024). The food was ok to good at some occasions. Nothing super special but just a good Chinese restaurant with very friendly and willing staff.

Mixed reviews. Some of the food was incredible. Borderline Michelin quality. The veal cheek, the seabass - exceptional. The scallops were also great, but not trimmed properly, that tough muscle needs to be removed before serving. But some of it was mass produced and bland, the fried rice, the bami, the pork belly. The service was good, friendly and professional, but it was clear we were getting different service than the locals. We did the tapas menu and other tables got several at once, while we were drip fed over 2.5 hours. If it were just the two of us, that would have been fine, but we had our 9 year old with us and it just got tedious after awhile. The Asian manager (owner) was extremely cold. She visited every other table but ours to see if things were ok. She gave us looks like we were absolute trash. I don't know if it was because we weren't Dutch or didn't confirm to some ideal she had or what, but it made for a poor experience. Thankfully our server was an absolute gentleman and made up for her hostility. So yeah... A mixed bag. Some of the dishes were truly sublime, but there's a lot of things that just don't work at all.

Very good food and service found unexpectedly! We went with a toddler and a baby and they were super nice about the mess we created and got lots of munchies for the kids (and didn't even blink when we let the baby crawl around on the floor in desperation!). Food was very well made, with fresh ingredients and the wine list is good too.

The food was good. The portions were large enough for two. There are only a few tables which gives the place a cozy feeling.

This restaurant seems to have a different and questionable definition of Bami Goreng. At home we were surprised to get white noodles with ham cubes and a slice of ham and a fried egg. We knew about the ham, but dudes... No soy sauce? Not fried? We had been looking forward to fried noodles in soy sauce with that well known taste like usually when you order "Bami Goreng". Food was ok, but we really wanted something else. One more thing: During the order, when asked to exchange ham with chicken the answer was "I don't think, that's possible". Wow, exchanging meat is impossible to these people.

We were looking for a nice evening in this restaurant for days but it was just disappointing. The service staff was so unqualified and the owner didn’t care at all. We had to wait at least 15-20 min until we got to see the menu. The restaurant was busy but there were so many people working that one hand didn’t know what the other hand was doing. Most of the times they were just standing behind the bar with 5 people. Incredible! Anyway, we ordered 6 different kind of „tapas“. Prices are really really high for the small portions you get. The food was in general ok but nothing super fancy or outstanding. Plus the wait for the food was way too long; after 1:15h we had two portions dim sum (4 pieces each) and were hungry waiting for the next round. The bill was 93€ for two people which is fine if the overall experience would have been worth it. Unfortunately, we do not recommend this place.

Great service, lovely staff, amazing food, atmosphere on point and all for a reasonable price!!
