"Sichuan cuisine is renowned for its hot spices, pungent herbs, rich oils and wok hei preparations and the chef here deftly mixes all these components. Traditional fish soup is prepared with a rich stock and marinated Chinese cabbage, while pork belly and pork neck are braised and cooked in chili and fermented black beans: comfort food so good we warrant you will be wiping your plate squeaky clean. Close your eyes and the bustling ambience of this down-to-earth eatery may well transport you straight to Chengdu. The endless menu is truly mind-blowing. The quintessence of a Bib Gourmand!" - Michelin Inspector

Google
Ni Shifu in Antwerp serves authentic Chinese food, with a particular focus on Sichuan cuisine with a touch a dim sum. The main courses come in generous portions while the dim sum servings are small like tapas that can easily be shared. Ni Shifu opens at 12 and there was a line that formed before opening time. Only those with reservations could enter - reservations recommended. Once inside there is room for just over 30 people. One gentleman serves each of the tables and as the food is served fresh, it could take time for your food to come out. Not to worry, the food is extremely well worth the trip and the wait! Wontons or dumplings in chili sauce hit the spot as did the soups. Went with several others and everyone loved their dishes. A true find for top quality Chinese food at a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Google
The best Sichuan food in Antwerp. Every time I visit, I’m impressed by the attentive and friendly service, as well as the amazing, mouthwatering food. It’s honestly one of the main reasons I keep coming back to Antwerp.

This could be my favourite Chinese restaurant in belgium! I have bring a lot of friends and family to here and they all liked it! The owner is very friendly and they always give the best dishes everytime we go there! Very authentic taste!

Second visit. Food was amazing. Crispy sichuan style chicken is always great. Fried aubergine was good but a bit heavy at the end. Definitely recommend sichuan noodle (we had a small size as an appetizer). But they really need to fix the door. Everytime when someone comes in or leaves the door slams. Was very loud and ruined the mood.

This is one of my 2 favourite chinese spots in Antwerp. The quality of the food is amazing. Reserve in advance tho, because almost always full.

Google
Ni Shifu is a great spot for dinner before going out in the city, tasty food, nice atmosphere, and definitely a must-visit in Antwerp.

Google
Good food and friendly service. The place gets busy very quickly so you're probably best off making reservations beforehand!

Google
Super tasty food! And very friendly staff. Big recommendation! Ordered deep fried pig intestines, pig ears, eggplant and wonton in chili oil.

Yelp
Coming from CA where there are plenty of Chinese restaurants I would say that my bar is relatively high. Food- salty and oily for me. MSG is plenty and very apparent. Selection is good but mostly fried or stir fried. Veggie menu is limited. Service is slow because the entire restaurant only has one server, one cook, and one prep. If you don't have reservation you will be turned down. I had diarrhea after eating here. Caters mostly to tourists so ambiance is good. However this does not make up for the quality of food which leaves much to be desired.

Yelp
omg this restaurant has some delicious Chinese food. They did earn a Michelin bib gourmand and are closed Thursdays. When I walked in for lunch, there was no wait and no reservation needed. The one thing I did not enjoy was the cleanliness. I felt uncomfortable sitting next to the dying plants by the window, which attracted all sorts of bugs. I felt like the table had dirt from the plants and needed to be actually wiped down with soap and water. The floor needed to be scrubbed; the chairs had crumbs from previous patrons. Once the food arrived though, I forgot about this. There is a guy solo running the front. He took orders, brought out all dishes, and received payment at the counter. He asked where we were from because we spoke a bit of Mandarin. Cumin lamb was fried and very fragrant. Wontons in chili oil were big and juicy but could have been spicier. Sauteed cabbage was good - the only dish we got that wasn't spicy. Water boiled fish was numbing but could have used more flavor. It was just amazing to have white rice instead of potatoes for once in Belgium!! Credit card accepted. No American Express.

Yelp
This is an unassuming restaurant right near Antwerp's Central Station, on an odd block with a casino, a strip club, and a parking garage as well as some other restaurants (some open some closed). While nice light comes in the window, there is no interior decor to speak of. But don't let the modest setting deter you. The food speaks for itself. We had the spicy beef noodles in broth - "noedelsoep met gestoofde rundvlees (pikant)", splurging the extra 50 cents for the homemade knife-cut noodles - "mes geschoren noedels" (total 8.50 €). We asked for ours medium spicy. The beef was tender. The broth was flavorful and spicy but not too much for our taste. The noodles were firm, and showed the artisanal marks of being cut by hand. These are truly great noodles! If you are arriving in Antwerp or leaving it, or have an hour to spend between trains, we definitely, definitely recommend stopping off here for a bowl of noodles or one of the other items on the menu (next time we intend to try the dumplings).

Yelp
Was taken here for lunch after arriving in Antwerp and found the food super authentic. Ended up going there three times in one week. The Mapo Tofu with the crispy chicken was a great combo (and I don't even like tofu). Some of the dishes with the Szechuan peppercorns were also delicious. Will go every time I'm in Belgium.

Yelp
Came by on a Sunday night. Lots of places closed on a Sunday night. Had to make a reservation because the place is small and it fills up fast. The staff is very nice and friendly. I ordered a won tong soup to start. It was very good. Then, I ordered the chicken fried rice and it was delicious. Lots of flavor. Will definitely come back when in the area.

Yelp
While definitely authentic Chinese food, the taste is on the bland side like most Belgian cuisine that we have tried in the three weeks we stayed in Antwerp. Everything we had from spicy wonton, hand shaved noodle, coriander lamb, to mapo tofu, were all solid, but missing that kick in taste to make this place great. While this review might read a bit negative, this place was really decent enough that we came back again after a few days.

Yelp
Very good And original Chinese restaurant, but not as good as last time (8 months ago) I visited... bad thing is the waitress changed and she complained to the kitchen about we wanted to put a little bit more rice to take away.... wtf! I understand Chinese ok?! And then she charged us 1.8euro more for the rice.... I have to say, the Chinese restaurant in berlin, Frankfurt , München are much better .... though there is a China town in Antwerp, I didn't see a lot of nice ones

Yelp
Wow, I mean... wow... this is as good as you get for Sichuanese - a very flavorful and spicy and tongue numbing style - food outside of China!! I lived in China for 10 years and I am an avid Sichuan food lover and eyes closed I can't distinguish the difference between eating this in China or here in Antwerp. The cook (Ni Shifu) is from Chengdu and has been in Belgium for 20 years already. Anyway back to the food now... The taste and ingredients are authentic and the flavor has not been westernised. The restaurant was packed too when I arrived, there aren't too many tables but nevertheless... This is the best authentic Chinese (Sichuanese kitchen) food I have found in Belgium and I have tried quite a few of them before. Oh... they have hot pot... I haven't tried yet but I will try next time.

Yelp
Some of the most authentic Chinese food I've had during my extended stay in Antwerpen. Seasoning and flavors match the Sichuan restaurants I have had in NY. Cumin lamb and cauliflower are some of the best dishes on the menu. The service is fast and friendly. There is one guy manning tables, cleaning, working the register, and I saw him once wash dishes in between.

Yelp
Tastes are personal, and Asian food in Europe is different from what you'd discover in Asia. Yet if you really want to try some authentic asian cuisine, this is the place to be, delicious, fresh and tasty dishes, the real thing!

Yelp
Best Chinese in Antwerp! Flavors are great, good quantity, and the service is friendly.

Yelp
The cucumber dish is a delight, very good example of this one with more than adequate garlic and heat. The kung pao chicken looks stunning but it's a bit weak; not enough fire, a tad on the sweet side when it should be solidly savoury, and too much veg filler- ideally kung pao is just diced dark-meat chicken, peanuts and the only veg is onion and garlic. Rice was perfect. Probably the best Chinese of any description that I had in a month in Germany/Netherlands/Belgium but the bar isn't high in that part of the world, not for Chinese at least (Indonesian and Thai are a very different story!).

Yelp
Possibly the best and most authentic chinese in antwerpen - tried a variety of dishes, but the kung pao chicken and mapo tofu left a big smile on my face... Definitely will go back to savor the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Love this place! Chinese food doesn't get any better or more authentic than this! I think i go there every month or so and i always take a different dish. They have never disappointed me so far and i always had a delicious meal! I totally recommend this place!
