I had such a lovely experience at the Old Town Nibble Chocolate location. The chocolate itself is phenomenal — high quality, vegan, ethically crafted, and clearly made with care. But what really stood out to me was the service. The barista was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable — exactly the kind of energy you hope for when supporting a small business. He shared thoughtful details about the ingredients and the story behind the brand, and made the entire experience feel welcoming and personal. I tried the hot chocolate, a few truffles, and an incredible pistachio creation — all of which were exceptional. Rich, balanced, and clearly made with intention. This is the kind of place you want to tell your friends about — where excellent products and genuine service come together. I’ll definitely be returning to this location.

We happened to pass by during my visit to the old town and we gave it a try: we had the Mexican Traditional Chocolate, the Cinnamon Maple Latte and 2 Truffles. Fantastic taste in a great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Google
My daughter has told me how much she loves the coffee here. So while we were visiting Old Town, we decided to have coffee. I got the iced mocha with coconut milk. It was not overly sweet and both the coffee and the chocolate really came through.

Google
Idk why Raylex in his previous comment said the hot chocolate lacked flavor because this chocolate shop is so good. And it’s all Vegan. Which makes me super happy as someone who has a major dairy allergy. Their Mexican hot chocolate and champurrado are some of the best I’ve ever had. I’m not really even a chocolate lover per se but, I really like their chocolate here. It’s one of those places you recommend to friends traveling in SD to check out. Probably the best shop Old Town SD has added in years.

Google
I ordered an iced americano w cafe de olla syrup bc I don't like milk in my cafe de olla. Thank you to the barista who helped me figure out what to order as a first timer. You guys know what you're doing, props👏👏👏 Oh & they added cinnamon without me having to ask 🥹💗

Google
The Mexican traditional hot chocolate was very sweet and delicious! You can ask for less sweetness if you prefer. The shop was very cute and filled with chocolate bars, hot chocolate powder, truffles, vegan baked goods, and even gluten free baked goods! Highly recommend checking this place out, especially in the evening when all the Christmas lights are on around Old Town!

Google
We went there twice in a week. Before I enter the store, I didn't even know it's vegan. We discovered as I ordered mocha coffee and learnt that they only have those plant milk. I never knew vegan coffee can taste so good(my husband lived in Italy for years, he can verify that.) I love this little place for great healthy chocolate and coffee and bakeries with an ethnic touch. See the pictures!!

Google
PHENOMENAL VEGAN CHAMPURRADO! I'm a major fan of this traditional Mexican chocolate shop! They're changing the game in the chocolate world with their fresh ingredients and vegan options! The champurrado is a MUST, I recommend pairing it with oat milk! You can also substitute other items with almond, soy, and other non-dairy options! The Mexican Hot Chocolate is also an excellent choice no matter the season! Nibble Chocolate's other main event is their truffles and bite-sized treats. If you're looking for pre-packaged specialty treats they're also available here! There's also a selection of chocolate adjacent products that chocolate lovers will surely love. The shop screams Mexican culture, I love the authenticity! The gentleman at the front was super sweet (pun intended) and was very courteous. Nibble Chocolate is behind Casa De Reyes.

Yelp
Unbelievably delicious hot chocolate! So good. The cafe de olla was good, but I've had better in San Diego. That said, I was thrilled they had it, and it still hit the spot. Cafe de olla is heavenly! The service was outstanding. They were so friendly and we had a great conversation. The ambiance was great. A very nice upscale well designed chocolate shop that serves wonderful drinks. We look forward to going back.

Yelp
We stopped into Nibble specifically to enjoy some hot chocolate today! The shop looks so cute & festive with all of holiday decorations. We were helped immediately by a kind barista who made our hot chocolates quickly. We had one Mexican traditional & one Aztec Spicy. All of the hot chocolates are made with Oat Milk unless you want something different. Both hot chocolates were delicious albeit lukewarm. The Aztec Spicy does have a bit of a kick, so be prepared for it. The cups are on the smaller side at 12 ounces, but we enjoyed these special treats very much ($5.45 each) . It was also fun to do a quick little walk through of Old Town to see the decorations and enjoy the ambiance. I recommend this hot chocolate for sure!

Yelp
On a chocolate tour a friend suggested Nibble. I come to old town often I must have passed by Nibble a handful of times. I loved seeing the location around the world where all the different varieties of chocolates travel from. Each has a distinct flavor and uniqueness. Feeling adventurous we tried a little of everything. Since Dubai chocolate is a the rage we tried it and that was by far my least favorite. We also had a fruit, spicy and the OG truffle. Although, flavored chocolate is great I am still all for the simple dark chocolate maybe a sprinkle of salt to balance it out but I enjoy the natural flavors. Inside they have of course chocolate drinks, souvenirs to buy or sweet treats to enjoy later. The wall is decorate with the history in how chocolate is made from the fruit to what we eat at home. It's great store filled with history and sweet treats. The staff was eager to assist and although it was a hot summer day I would love to come back and try their hot drinks. If only they would do a special with the wine store next door because the rich dark chocolate flavors would surly bring out the fruity notes or spices in a glass of wine!

Yelp
This is that hidden hole in the wall chocolatier you've been searching for. Your chocolate is pretty good and they have a wide variety but their drinks are incredibly delicious and in many ways unmatched in San Diego. They have a small cute patio and some space indoors for enjoying your drinks. All the employees I've ever interacted with are very helpful and friendly.

Yelp
This is tucked away in the back of fiesta de Reyes plaza. It's a nice treat to have their hot chocolate especially on our cooler nights in San Diego. I had the original hot chocolate and it was not too sweet, more on the stronger bitter side probably because it was dark chocolate? My fiancé had an iced chocolate horchata which he enjoyed! I preferred my hot one to the iced one. Staff seemed friendly and it wasn't busy at all middle of the week.
google avatar

Jamie A.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible!!! Their hot chocolate with sea salt is unlike anything I've ever had and everything is fully vegan! So rich in flavorful and the sea salt takes it to a whole new level. I wish they had a location in south OC because I'd be there often! Service is friendly and very quick. Highly recommend checking it out in Old Town!

Yelp
The beautiful chocolate frothers that adorn the interior of Nibble Chocolate not only are a great homage to chocolate's Latin American roots but also the Nibble Chocolate's incredibly delicious back to the basics approach that involves being sustainable and organic with their chocolates. Nibble has become a must visit location for me every time I'm in Old Town San Diego and I'll always get a couple of their distinctive square bars to take back home, particularly the Cocoa Mexico and Madagascar. In addition to the chocolates, there are some smooth drinks being served here. I am definitely a big fan of the Mexican hot chocolate, especially if you're wandering around the area during a cool night. Service here has also been consistently helpful. There are a lot of tourist trap things to do in Old Town San Diego but Nibble Chocolate is not one of those experiences - if you have a real love for well crafted chocolate, you will be glad you visited this store.

Yelp
Wow!!! Excellent coffee, best we've had in San Diego. Chocolates so very moorish. We had a sample of the coffee, raspberry and lemon truffles. Flavors were so well balanced with the rich chocolate. But the best was the chocolate chip, salted cookie. Oh my, absolutely lush. Just slightly sweet and the salt is just a fantastic addition to the ensemble on the palette.

Yelp
I want to like this place. I really do. It is a cute little vegan chocolate spot that has some decent drinks and lots of chocolate options, but the operation leaves much to be desired. I have tried their champurrado, which was good, not too sweet, but they served it in a paper cup(this is not the issue), with no sleeve and no top. The drink was scalding hot and it was not a great experience trying to carry around while enjoying Old Town. The drink is good, but not burn your hand off good. I also wish they offered size options. I`ve also tried their iced chocolate drink(think drinking chocolate), and it was just okay. I was hoping to get a drinking chocolate similar to ones I`ve had before at other chocolate shops, but this was a bit of a let down. Womp womp. My main gripe is with their customer service. Getting a drink is a bit of a mess with a lot of waiting involved, a line backed up out the door, and a small area there is not much room to wait in. I think they need a better flow to get the drinks out faster so that a line doesn't start to back up and cause hasty drink making. Only my opinion. One last issue is that the employees I have encountered were not really friendly. They were fine, but seem annoyed and that is probably because it gets busy and a bit hectic, but please don`t take it out on your patrons. I`m sorry that we want chocolate drinks. Yesterday I went with my mom and we discovered that the champurrado was out, which is what we had come for, and my mom was a bit bummed. I asked the employee if they knew when the drink would be available again. They gave a half hearted and mumbled "I`m not sure" and when my mom was talking about how she was disappointed, the employee seemed irate and dismissive. The whole interaction gave me the ick. I`m not sure I`ll be back when I`m in Old Town again.

Yelp
Extremely Cute Shop and Concept. I ordered an iced mango peach green tea with a dark raspberry chocolate truffle. The lady at the counter was very informative and answered all my questions. I loved that idea is not to over indulge but to savor "nibble" the chocolate. I also tried a sample of the mango dark chocolate it was AMAZING! Highly recommend stopping in and trying their locally made chocolates.

Yelp
My bf and I don't really get the food here we mostly get like drinks but I will say the coffee, chocolate, teas and even the truffles are really good ! 10/10. The cashier/s are always super nice and sometimes really good in recommending drinks if you don't know what to get !. It's a cute little space hidden behind the restaurant "Casa De Reyes"

Yelp
I really like their coffee as well as their customer service! My favorite drink to order is the Dirty Maple!

Yelp
This is seriously the coolest chocolate espresso candy, place. I got my mom a box here for Mother's Day the last few years . They r absolutely delicious. The art on the wall is seriously beautiful as well. Ask about the wand whisk .

Yelp
Best chocolate ever ! Like these are craft artist type chocolate made with the finest Ingredients, I am a chocolate lover, so this is exciting for me haha

Yelp
Very small shop and it took a few minutes to get assistance, but when we did the employee was knowledgeable and provided excellent information. I appreciated being asked about specific nut allergies prior to making a purchase. The truffles are amazing. SO GOOD! Truffles aren't difficult to make, but it taes skill to make them well. The fact that everything is fairly sourced, organic and made locally is wonderful. We alsopurchased a chocolate flight and are looking forward to tasting everything. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Small, cute shop tucked away in Old Town...we almost missed it. They've got a small variety of individual pieces and boxes from which to choose, as well as coffee. We were looking for a treat to bring back to the neighbors, but my hubby felt he needed a box as well. Nice 8 piece variety packs with a fun assortment. The organic chocolates themselves are very neatly presented. Contrary to what he expected, he actually enjoyed the lemon and the Mexican truffles the most, fabulous and fun flavors. Overall, he enjoyed the whole box.

Yelp
This chocolate is awesome. The best all around. I have tried many in the recent past. Not too bitter & not too sweet.Don't expect to taste any flavor in the chocolate. I was sooo looking forward to the mango flavor....it's not discernable, so don't get your mouth set. No raspberry or maple flavor discernable in either of those bars.

Yelp
I can't wait to come back for that incredible hot chocolate--I ended up buying two that night! As a Chicagoan, I'm already looking forward to my next visit. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff were incredibly helpful with all my questions. A definite 10/10! I'll be ordering more chocolate online for sure!

Yelp
We happened to pass by Nibble while doing our souvenir shopping with a friend who's visiting from out of town. My friend picked up some chocolates and when we got to the cashier we saw an interesting drink on their menu and we decided to try. It was hot chocolate, u can choose a variety of combinations: with rose water, strawberry chocolate, spicy Mexican chocolate and more. We chose rose water with oatmilk. It was so good. Expect to wait a while, though. There was only 1 person working, and she was both the barista and cashier.

Yelp
Spontaneous trip to get some chocolate to take for a friend on a trip and came upon this hidden gem. Chocolate was so exquisite and authentic. They had some really creative flavors with tequila and what not. We were really surprised. It was late in the evening so most of the samples were out, but whatever we got to taste was really good. Guy working at the store was also very friendly and recommended some good options for making a gift box and put it together for us as well.
google avatar

Nell E.

Yelp
Nibble on this or get chocolate as a gift, serving up rich and decadent treats, take a nibble or a bite, great quality and products!
google avatar

Carmen V.

Yelp
Cute chocolate shop with fantastic design and lots of history about cacao, where ingredients come from and how how the delicious chocolate we all love to savor is made. The store is tucked behind the restaurant Casa de Reyes but is not to be missed as the smell of cacao will intoxicate your senses in a nice way. The people working there are very knowledgeable and you can get samples of pieces from Brazil, Madagascar...any cacao producer country. Love it. Samples is always the way to go, thanks for that!

Yelp
Stumbled upon Nibble chocolate in Old Town after conducting a Yelp search on where to find some good coffee. Not only did we find some good coffee, but we also found a damn good chocolate shop as well. I can't even name all of the different types of chocolate my friend and I had free samples of. Each one was just as good as the last, and that iced Mocha I had was so rich, smooth, and delicious. After speaking with Justin, the man who made our drinks he let us know a little about Nibble's history and their plans to expand into other areas. I really enjoyed Nibble and wish them much success moving forward in the future.
google avatar

Mimi L.

Yelp
Such a cute little chocolate and coffee shop. They make vegan and gluten free chocolates here so I got a box of assorted to take home! For coffee drinks I had iced mocha oat milk, hubby had iced black coffee. The coffee drinks were strong and tasty. There are some interesting displays and photos throughout the store. Now I know chocolate grows on trees and from South America! Definitely come in for some pick-me-up chocolate tasting or coffee drinks whenever you are in old town San Diego!
google avatar

Jen H.

Yelp
Cute little chocolate boutique. Great place for souvenirs, gifts. Perfect for dark chocolate lover--not much selection on milk chocolate. You can ask for chocolate samples!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by this vegan chocolate shop in Old Town for post dinner treat of hot chocolate ($4.50). I think it was made from their El Salvadorian mix. Smooth and rich. Oat, soy, and almond milk at no extra charge but wished regular cow milk was an option. Store offers 72%, 85% single origin chocolate bars, bars with mixed nuts/fruits, and hot chocolate mixes. Perfect for the chocolate lover!
google avatar

Stephanie V.

Yelp
Wow! So good! Very glad we stumbled upon this somewhat hidden gem on a rect trip to SD, it was the prefect pit stop for a day of walking around old town. This particular day was a bit chilly so we decided on a Mexican-style hot chocolate and it was AMAZING! Super rich but not overly sweet, it was great! We loved it so much we bought an extra cup and even purchased some hot chocolate powder to go. We also grabbed a few of their 70% Cacao from Mexico and it was delicious! We will definitely be visiting again on our future trips to SD and old town. Overall, highly recommend!

Yelp
Huge line outside this place throughout the evening that we were there, before and after dinner. Feel bad since there was only a single worker handling all the orders... With how busy and crowded it was , I didn't want to bother the worker to ask about the chocolate sampling. They have chocolate bars for sale, mugs and tumblers, truffles, and some pastries. My friend got a Mexican hot chocolate, it has a slight cinnamon taste, but a very dark chocolate flavor and I got a Champurrado here with soy milk. It was slightly sweet with mostly the flavor of dark chocolate mixed with the thickness of the masa. The top of the drink was pretty foamy, so a good bit of the drink was that, just foam, and it is a pretty small sized cup to begin with (8 oz short size at Starbucks if that helps). All of this is was around $6, maybe one day I'll try again on a less busy day and try the chocolate tasting.

Yelp
Stopped in for an afternoon coffee pick-me up, and was pleasantly surprised it was a vegan coffee and chocolate shop. Ordered the rose cardamon latte with almond milk. Latte had a nice aromatic rose flavor, but the barista was a little heavy handed with the dried rose topping. While aesthetically pleasing, dried roses are not very pleasing to eat. They had a couple other latte flavors that sounded worth coming back to try.

Yelp
Strolling around Fiesta de Reyes on New Year's Day of 2022, we stumbled upon NIBBLE CHOCOLATE and were immediately excited to see that they were offering CHAMPURRADO. Instantly, we knew that we were going to return here for an after-dinner drink. When we came back after dining, I honestly was indecisive as to what I wanted to order; their menu had several offerings that caught my eye (SPECIALTY HOT CHOCOLATE + DOUBLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO + MEXICAN TRADITIONAL, CHAMPURRADO, SPECIALTY COFFEE CAFE DE OLLA LATTE, ICED CHOCOESPRESSO, ICED CHOCOLATE HORCHATA, ICED CHOCOLATE DE OLLA). Cielo and I went with CHAMPURRADOS and my husband and mother-in-law ordered DRIP COFFEES. Hubby said that the coffee was standard, nothing special. Although I found the CHAMPURRADO on the thin side and Cielo claimed that the maza flavour was initially a bit strong, we both were pleased with our drinks. They were very nice to sip on while walking outside on a cold winter night. Kudos to NIBBLE CHOCOLATE for being FULLY vegan - YAY! ...and bonus points for the Free CHOCOLATE TASTINGs - just ask them for it! If you are a chocoholic, this place is most definitely for you - they also sell powdered chocolate, truffles, chocolate bars, ice cream, pastries, desserts, etc. I did mention that all of their products are vegan, right? They also have molinillos for sale! This shop is a gem, especially for vegans. I will definitely return to try another drink and maybe even a truffle.

Yelp
A go-to place at old town for some fresh hot chocolate. There are options for specialty flavors as well as choosing a milk option. Definitely worth a try! I brought my dog to Old Town for a evening walk, but the plaza this storefront was in was a tad too crowded. The rest of Old Town though was a good and spacious walk!
google avatar

Austin K.

Yelp
As far as cafes/chocolate shops go, definitely worth visiting. There are chocolate samples, and the drink options are interesting too. I got the iced chocolate horchata, and while it didn't quite hit the horchata craving, I enjoyed it as a drink that was not too sweet - just don't expect horchata.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm so glad I finally found this amazing little store after countless visits to Old Town. With a simple and minimalistic layout, the store tastefully displays all the different kinds of chocolatey treats they offer without overwhelming customers. My littles chose to try the Mango dark chocolate bar and the non dairy Strawberry Cream Oatmilk bar and I found kept asking them to share their goodies with me- they were so yummy! The store also has a fresh baked goods and drinks. We were too full after lunch to try them but will definitely be returning to try more.

Yelp

Yelp
Looking for a hot chocolate to warm up from a cold night while I'm waiting for my bus so stopped by here and so glad I did! Staff was super friendly and welcoming and offered samples of their delicious Peru chocolate. If I wasn't getting hot chocolate, I would have certainly gotten a chocolate bar! He recommend the Mexican hot chocolate and even attempted to write my Chinese name on the cup. A+ for effort, no one has ever tried that before! The hot chocolate ($4.50 pre tax & tip) was warm and ready to drink with a delightfully frothy top that almost spilled over! The process in making it looked so intricate and the light cinnamon and vanilla flavors truly elevate it from a normal hot chocolate. It's never too early or too chocolate for some hot chocolate. Come here for a warm, hospitable cup of deliciousness!

Ashley V.

Yelp
Enjoyed the hot chocolate but not the truffles. We tried three different flavors - dark chocolate, Mexican, and chai. They seemed to have a tang and aftertaste to them that we did not enjoy.

Joy M.

Yelp
This is by far the best place to get hot chocolate in San Diego! I love coming here!! Just a gem Of a place!

Yelp
Amazing all vegan chocolate shop! Recommended for vegans and non vegans alike! My daughter and I loved it!

Yelp
I was craving real artisan chocolate during my family vacation in San Diego. I found Nibble Chocolate on Yelp. The store is located in old town San Diego which has such a vibrant atmosphere! I had to go to the visitor center to ask about the exact location of the store. I found out that it is located in Fiesta de Reyes area.I believe they were 19 shops next to each other. So it was fun to walk around, listen to music and enjoy the exceptional atmosphere until I found the store. It was to the right side at the very end of the area. The store is so unique and organized. I ordered: -Iced chocolate Horchata : 5/5 It was creamy and not too sweet -Mini chocolate Bundt cake 3.5 /5 The taste was okay, but It was dry. I prefer moist chocolate bundt . -Also, I purchased a pack of 4 chocolate bars Peru: has caramel, smokey nuts, biscuits dry fruits, Madagascar: has plum ,citrus, raspberry and spices Dominican Republic : Rich chocolate and earthy flavors Brazil : Has tropical fruits and hints of grapefruit, pineapple with macadamia All of them have 72% Cocoa. -I also purchased a large bar of Mango Madagascar dark chocolate 70% cocoa. The chocolates were very tasty and delicious. If you are a chocolate lover, then you can try this place because it is superb! Definitely I am looking forward to going back and trying more of the deliciousness!
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite gift for people visiting from out of town is a box of truffles from here or their powdered chocolate. Try the Mexican truffle. They also offer samples of their 72%. The Peru and Madagascar powdered chocolates are staples for my pantry

Yelp
Hello there Oldtown! Hidden behind the Reyes Restaurant is Nibble Chocolate. This little chocolate shop has several options of delicious and varying flavors. We visited after a light dinner at Reyes. Dani was there and greeted us. She was so sweet and was very informative. We tried the sample chocolate bites. The chocolates were named after various countries: Dominican Republic, Brazil, Peru, Madagascar etc. All the chocolates come in dark chocolate or extra dark chocolate. I love this for the fact that the bitter tones of these chocolates complete the flavor. Ive enjoyed these chocolates and hope to be able to continue to come back and try all the different ones. The folks working in this place are also very friendly and seems like they enjoy engaging with the people visiting. This area gets very busy with so many tourists so they're able to help everyone without getting frustrated. I've also tried their Champorado and it was super delicious. I love stopping by here during the fall months especially dia de los muertos for the beautiful event with a side of Champorado.

Yelp
I loved the Iced Chocolate Horchata with Oatmilk. It was so delicious. It is a great place to buy gifts for chocolate lovers! I bought a hot chocolate Madagascar mix for my godson and his family.
google avatar

Kathlena H.

Yelp
Def recommend the hot chocolate if you're looking for a more rich and creamy option! I got the iced chocolate as well, but it wasn't as great as the hot one, it seemed a bit more watered down. They have a good selection of chocolate bars, sipping chocolate, and some local coffee roasters such a Bird Rock and James coffee. I thought their orchid was very reasonable. After ordering the hot chocolate at their cafe, I had to snag a bag of their powdered sipping chocolate to bring home and try! Excited to make this myself at home to enjoy :)

Yelp
5 star for my first experience. Located in Old Town San Diego. Parking can get packed. The night life scene in the area is great for all ages. This place is apparently all vegan. We enjoyed the ice cream & brownie. I will need to return to try their homemade chocolates.

Yelp
Impulse buy while walking through Old Town. It's tucked away in the back in a little alley way with several other shops around it. Initially stopped to look at the coffee and ice cream flavors but ended up getting a chocolate horchata. It came with different options of milk so I got oat. The drink was so delicious, not too sweet, and not too chocolatey. The cinnamon level was perfect. The paper straw melted a bit in the drink but that's fine. The worker was nice enough although seemed a little annoyed. He mentioned he was supposed to be on his break but people started lining up so he kept working. It seemed like he was the only one working so I'm not sure who takes over while he's on break. He wasn't rude or anything but not overly nice. The rest of the shop has their chocolate bars and coffees which all look really good. It looks like they have some samples of the chocolates but there were none left when I got there.
google avatar

Yelp
This shop is wonderful! I got to enjoy the Aztec Spicy iced chocolate drink and it was delicious! Also, indulged in one piece of Chai chocolate . Heaven !!!!

Yelp
Chocolate lovers, this is a must try. Sample chocolates from many different countries. Step out of your comfort zone and try something new!

Yelp
Picked up the dark chocolate raspberry truffles here. They were so bitter i could not even eat them. Don't waste your money. Go to Sees.
