Nibble Kitchen is open for takeout; order in person. (Explore Bow Market’s indoor and outdoor seating options here.)" - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

"Brazilian street food often means starchy, fried goodness. Acaraje with vatapa is just that, and it also illustrates how West African cuisine had a substantial influence on the development of food traditions in Brazil. Acaraje (known as akara in West African cuisines) is a fritter of mashed black eyed peas and onions, deep-fried and filled with vatapa, a paste made from coconut milk, shrimp, pao (Brazilian bread), palm oil, and peanuts. This stuffed fritter is traditionally served with a hot pepper sauce, so proceed with caution. Nibble Kitchen is an initiative in Somerville that highlights the community’s diverse culinary scene. On Thursdays, the kitchen features a menu of Brazilian food, and its take on acaraje with vatapa steals the show. Nibble Kitchen is open for takeout." - Tommy Ranucci

I liked their concept of having rotational menus allowing different chefs to have a place to cook and present their cuisine. Definitely a concept that needs more attention and visibility in the Boston food scene. I can’t remember what I’d ordered but it was delicious.

Being only open for 2.5 hours once a week, Matcha Boy is a bit of an elusive find inside Nibble Kitchen at Bow Market. However, it's worth visiting if you can catch the window. The staff was super friendly and walked me through the menu. I was between the Azuki Matcha Latte or the CHAffogato but ultimately decided to go for the latter since it's not something I've seen at a matcha spot before. For $6, I got a cup of sweet vanilla ice cream drowned in some hot hojicha. I originally thought that they would give me the hojicha separately to pour myself, but they do it for you before handing over your order, so be sure to have your camera ready if you are interested in recording (I missed my opportunity haha). The ice cream was rich and the perfect amount of sweetness, which is what I love the most about Asian desserts. It also had bits of ice that added some texture variety with each bite. The hojicha added a subtle nuttiness that elevated the ice cream. If I had a biscotto or cookie to top this off, it would have been perfect. Overall, I am really happy that I got to try this dessert, and I'll definitely be back to try the Azuki Matcha Latte.

We loved the Boukannen Afro-Haitian cuisine! The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were so delicious, and the portions were generous. We loved the drinks (lemonade/mint and passion fruit) as well! The owner Mimie was so kind to us and offered us samples to taste to ensure we loved what we ordered.

June 2024: Great place to check out and indulge in a great cooks food. Owner was very busy and line was long increasing wait time, but I promise its worth the weight. Def some Caribbean local food. The owner is so sweet and you can tell there is a lot of love in the food!

Currently, this place is Nagomi Bento on Wed-Friday. Pork-Katsu Sandwich was amazing. They are making their bread from scratch in house. Kara-age, fried tofu, and salmon bento were super good. Vegetarian options were also there (eggplant). They were doing Matcha special drinks right now too. Very reasonable price for the quality and quantity. Highly recommend!!!

This was so so good. Honestly the chicken soup was the standout, with plenty of lime and cilantro. It was perfect, and the papusas were creative and tasty. Love the concept for this place and you can't beat the atmosphere at Bow Market.

Google
The yuca fries were absolutely incredible. They had a crispy outside with a savory seasoning, and they was tossed with tomatoes, cucumbers, and fresh herbs in a tomato-y, mildly spicy sauce. It made for a very refreshing small meal. The staff were also very friendly, and judging by the flyers posted on the wall, it also seemed to be a LGBTQ+ friendly place.

Google
Really good food and great staff. Based on food alone, I’d put it in the 4 star category (see below). The mission of the place, the rotating menu, and the clear passion of the people running it would make me so happy to recommend it and keep trying the different cuisines, putting it into the 5 star range. Impressive that they can do what they do so well while essentially running several different restaurants… 1 star = never go back 2 star = would go if a friend wanted to 3 star = would go myself if it hit the particular craving i wanted. Average 4 star = good food. Acceptable or better service. Would go again and recommend 5 star = does what it does very well. Great all around. Would frequent

Yelp
This review is for Nagomi Bento, and I have to say the entire menu looked delicious. I took a photo of all of the sample bowls and onigiri, and I would have loved to try really any and all of the different dishes. In the end, I went for the tofu bento because it looked so crispy and it was one of the cheaper bentos. Tofu bento ($15) - Okay, so the price is the only reason why this isn't a 5/5. It's not a TON of food (I was still a little hungry at the end - probably could have gotten an onigiri to top it off), but everything is proportionally right. I didn't have extra rice at the end, and all of the ingredients went together very well. The tofu, as suspected, was perfectly crispy and piping hot, and the scallion oil on top was salty and tangy - such a delicious bite. The rice was a japanese sushi-type rice as well - short grained and really nice and plump. I really loved the rice texture, and it soaked up the scallion oil really nicely. The pickles were tart but not too tart (I tend to stay away from japanese pickles, but these were pretty mild), and the carrots/beans in sesame oil added another nice touch to the bowl. I wish there were two eggs because it was DELICIOUS, and the cure flower-shaped radish and carrot were adorable! Like I said, the proportions were spot on, and everything went together perfectly. On top of that, the people at the table were so friendly, and the service was incredibly fast. I think I ordered and had my food in front of me in maybe 3 minutes tops? And the tofu was freshly fried too! I really hope this place opens a permanent spot or comes to Nibble Kitchen more - it was great! 4/5!

Yelp
My review is about East Fruit Smoothies' Jamaican food available on the weekends.. I haven't tried their smoothies as yet which is what they are known for hence the name lol... but as a Jamaican missing home food often it's a nice to know there's somewhere nearby other than Flames. It's not a large selection of dishes, just: Jerk Chicken, Oxtail and a curried Vegetarian option. We ordered the Jamaican loaded fries with oxtail and the classic Jamaican plate with jerk chicken. I know making food taste exactly like it does in Jamaica can be a challenge to some restaurants because of what's available locally in America and can be a hit or a miss but their food is very close to authentic for anyone who hasn't tried Jamaican food before. I liked the loaded fries with the oxtail. It's a great way to combine more Jamaican culture with wherever loaded fries were invented. Personally, I think the fries could do without the jerk powder. The oxtail itself is really good. - 9/10 I didn't try the Jerk Chicken plate since my husband ordered that separately for his lunch the next day and he said it was good. He said he was able to get 2 meals out of it but only thing missing is some raw / steam veg / macaroni on the side lol - 8/10 I'll be back to try the oxtail plate and try a smoothie!

Yelp
The chicken salad sandwich tasted like soap it was so lemony then had raisins in it? The filo bread the sandwich came on was just very dry crumbly, more a hassle than a flavor add. Plantain chips were dry & plain too. I threw most of it away, not worth $16

Yelp
I went to Bow Market on a Friday night and stopped by Nibble Kitchen... just to try a nibble. They had a special Nagomi Bento Menu, so I decided to try something out. I went with the Salmon Onigiri, which was essentially a rice ball that had little bits of salmon in it and some scallions on top. It had a nice texture and the outside was blowtorched, so the rice had a fun smokey flavor to it. This was by no means a meal, so I'd recommend ordering a few if you're on the hungrier side. I would recommend eating outside or at Remnant Brewing, since the restaurant is pretty small. The staff there was really nice, even though I just ordered a small snack. Great spot if you just want to grab a quick bite. I would be happy to visit again and try another menu offering!

Yelp
Stopped by on a Wednesday during lunch hours and their "Taquismo Special: Birria Ramen" caught my eye. I love seeing thoughtful fusions that chefs create, especially when they bring out the flavors from different cultures. I'd never seen something like before, so I figured I had to try. This dish was very satisfying to me, but it actually was more like a Taiwanese beef noodle soup (牛肉麵) than any ramen I've ever had--except with way better beef. It has that unassuming but complete heat, the rich fattiness in the broth, a chewy noodle with roasted peanuts and other garnishing that are all so reminiscent of Taiwan's style to me. I enjoyed this so much on a hot day, I can only imagine how popular it would be on cold days. I would not only order this again but now my curiosity is piqued for all the other menu items on rotation by different chefs. Great multicultural, innovative concept!

Yelp
I enjoyed the food , I had the ox tails and rice. The smoothies are delicious it's was over all a nice day to eat outdoors. I would go get takeout . Oh my son ordered the oxtail bowl with the fries it was delicious I will order that next time.

Yelp
Last time I came they didn't have a separate yelp page yet! I've gone on arepa day before (also great), but today was pupusa day! Pupusa (two for 13$) was delicious. The menu is a bit unclear, the two pupusas aren't separate orders, so you can't try both flavors. It was nicely crisp outside, soft inside, with great flavor! On one hand, it's not a lot of food, but on the other, it's nice to be able to have a snack size amount of food to try out the other foods in Bow Market. I always stop by here when I'm there though.

Yelp
Nagomi Bento has some of the best food in a 10 mile radius. I was blown away by their Chicken Karaage Bento, it was sweet, savory, and exceptionally delicious. I'd give it an 11/10!!! And the staff is so friendly and the service is great! Highly recommended

Yelp
The idea of Nibble Kitchen is brilliant! It is apparently run by the Arts Council which invite different local restaurants to come to Bow Market and occupy the kitchen to present their food, so visitors get the chance each time to experience cuisine originated from different places of the world. The kitchen is on the first floor of the market next to the taproom of Remnant Brewing, so one can get food from the kitchen and also the beer from the taproom. On the day I visited the restaurant, ladies from Las Carolinas were showing off the Venezuelan cuisine. I tried their Pabellon Pork which was delicious. Highly recommended if anyone visits Bow Market.

Yelp
Cute idea but absurd pricing. $16 for a tiny quesadilla! I'll have to go elsewhere to actually get enough to eat.

Yelp
Really cool restaurant that hosts different chefs, specializing in completely different menus and cuisines, depending on the day. I went on a (Wednesday) day featuring a Bengali chef and had some delightful currier chicken wrapped in some naan-esque bread. Absolutely delicious. On other days there is Salvadoran and Venezuelan food available, which I hear is good too. Awesome place to spotlight chefs and cuisines that are not well established in the Boston area!

Lisa Z.

Yelp
Excellent food! Going to continue to try more of the rotating menu. Also really quick service

M J.

Yelp
Pupusas were soggy and too watery. Not worth the mark up. Yet, as a foodie I wanted to support the Salvadoran establishment. Pupusas were 2 for $15 (I was shocked) I mean 3 for $15 is passable for Boston Metro, and still my mom would be ashamed. Also ordered yuca fries that were drowned in toppings and served by the cashiers bare hands with no sign of gloves. I likely dissociated because I actually couldn't believe this was my order. I only hope the owners take this feedback and improve the quality of the food products and service. Maybe a refund?

Yelp
This place is amazing. Come on Sunday and try their pabellon pork arepa, you can't beat it.

Yelp
We went on the Arepas day. Food was good there was little seating since it was so crowded.
