Hot Pot Hailing from San Gabriel Valley Heads to Convoy | Eater San Diego

"I spotted that Nice 2 Meet U, a Chinese hot pot restaurant with locations in Rowland Heights and San Gabriel, is expanding to 4428 Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa and shares a complex with CoCo Ichibanya, Danang Corner, and Hive. Specializing in chuan chuan hot pot — the Chengdu-style skewered hot pot where food is cooked on skewers in boiling oil or broth — it uses a self-service model where diners select skewers and plates of meat, seafood, and other ingredients as well as small appetizers and sauces from a central bar. Skewers are priced at approximately $0.38 each and range from spicy beef-wrapped enoki mushrooms to lotus root, shrimp, and marinated pork. The restaurant offers mild, spicy, or hot soup bases, including tomato, mushroom, and a signature broth made with beef tallow; this chuan chuan style can also be found at other Convoy spots like Mada-Sao and Boiling Passion." - Candice Woo

If you love hotpot this is a great place to go for all you can eat! Very decent prices and the servers are all so nice. They bring out meat for you and side dishes. Plus there are additional meat skewers and veggies/noodles/fishballs all in the refrigerated section that you can get yourself. And they have the sauce bar of course too. We also brought a cake to celebrate our friend's birthday and they were so nice to put in in their fridge for us until we were done with dinner. 😊

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Service and Obvious Discrimination This was by far one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had — not just because of the terrible service, but because of what felt like blatant racism. We came to this hotpot restaurant excited to enjoy a meal, but left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. We were seated fairly quickly, which gave us hope, but that’s where any good experience ended. After being seated, we waited over 25 minutes and not a single server came to take our order — even though we watched multiple other tables, who were seated after us, get greeted, served, and even start eating while we were still sitting there with nothing. We politely tried to get a server’s attention multiple times, and were either ignored or told, “someone will be right with you,” which never happened. It really felt like we were being intentionally overlooked, and it wasn’t subtle. The staff was friendly and attentive to other tables around us, but when it came to us, we were treated like we were invisible. When someone finally came over, there was no apology, no urgency, and zero acknowledgment of the delay. The order was rushed, the ingredients came out missing or wrong, and we had to ask multiple times just to get basic items like broth refills or sauces. By that point, the whole experience was already ruined. The worst part is, it wasn’t just bad service — it was clear that who we were had something to do with it. If you’re not part of their “preferred” customer base, don’t expect to be treated with respect here. It was honestly humiliating. There are too many great hotpot places out there to waste time or money at one that treats people like this. Never coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone — especially if you value basic decency and equal treatment.

An all you can eat hot pot. Appropriately 80 variety of food. Some of them are rare, such as 豬紅, 豬肚. You pick them from the fridge. You have to order beef, pork, and lamp belly, but you are almost full after eating a lot from the fridge. A wiser choice is to order meat and eat them first until you are satisfied. Then, eat other food from the fridge. Chairs without back are not good for me. Tables are small for more than 8 people. Avoid 18% service charges by not sharing tables for 6 or more people. Ask for a discount. They serve customers with water. There is no 酸梅湯,disappoined.

Loved the hot pot at Nice 2 Meet U! We ordered the mushroom and Chinese herbal soups and lots of beef, lamb, pork, shrimp, vegetables and more and loved all of it. Really enjoyed the ambiance, table layout, and furniture. The service was friendly and used dishes were taken away very quickly. Definitely recommend, the parking lot is pretty good compared to other Convoy parking.

Google
I was so impressed with all of the options for Hot Pot. I loved the refrigerated section & meat options on the menu. Next visit, I would try the Fried Doughnuts, Fried Tofu Puffs, Egg Dumpling & several other Beef skewers. The staff was so kind & my broth was boiling before I returned from browsing the refrigerated section. Overall, it was a fun Hot Pot spot!

Google
I've never had hot pot like this before! They have a sauce bar which comes with some fruits and desserts, but the unique thing about this spot is the giant refrigerator with different types of skewers and vegetables. We grabbed a few skewers, mushrooms, and ramen noodles. Then they brought out a pot with our choices of broth- we got the bone broth and spicy beef tallow. The broths were very flavorful and had a good balance. We also ordered the sliced beef, a pitcher of beer, and an Old Beijing Yogurt. I love the variety of meat selection and the service was friendly and attentive! I will be back soon!

Google
Hubs and I heard great things about this place from friends so we just had to check it out. We went in early for lunch, and we were impressed by how spacious and clean it is, with nice murals decorating the walls. We were seated promptly and the staff was really thorough in explaining how their ordering system works. I actually really love that you order a la carte here. I can never really eat much at a time, so ayce is a waste for me. Here, I feel content to order anything I want to try, knowing that I can take leftovers home for later if I can't finish. We ordered some of the prime beef and lamb from the menu, along with some crispy pork. The skewers are $0.50 each, so we grabbed a bunch of those. During lunch they had a deal for buy 1 get 1 for the refrigerator color coded boxes, so we did a few of those too - tofu, shrimp balls, noodles, veggies etc. We were super impressed with how fresh and delicious everything was. We got the bone broth and tomato broth to cook it all in, and we made good use of the sauce bar for sauce and dry seasonings to dip the food in. The sauce bar also has fruits and cold dishes like Cucumber Salad, along with desserts. The warm sweet soup with sesame filled mochi was delicious 😋 We definitely want to go back and try more of this place with friends!

Google
I’ve never tried a skewers style hot pot and i loved this spot! So we did order traditional meat plates but what was really more unique than other hotpot spots was the self serve skewers and veggies! All the skewers are 50c per skewer and the other plates are various prices depending on color and shape. I loved the beef with enoki, I went back for that one a few times! Also it was so nice they offer you to take any leftover broth home!

Yelp
Located in convoy Kearny Mesa San Diego. I went on the last day of business 9/28/2025. It's closed. The Irvine location is still open. On that day, only B menu $38.99 was available. The menu A $30 was not available. It was delicious. All you can eat for 2 hours. Quality and service was great. I ordered medium spicy beef broth. It's spicy level 7 building to 8. Your head is on fire, not to the point of tears. Tears will be level 9.

Yelp
We had such a fun experience at Nice 2 Meet You! The all-you-can-eat menu is definitely the way to go if you want to try a little bit of everything. I loved the variety and how easy it was to grab things from the self-serve section--you don't feel rushed, and it's perfect for mixing and matching flavors. A quick note: the "mild" spice level might actually be pretty spicy for some people, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to heat. For us, it was flavorful and had a nice kick, but I could see it being a bit much for others. My personal favorite was the skewers with meat and mushrooms--juicy, savory, and cooked just right. I kept going back for more of those! The first service was pleasant and the servers were helpful with helping me decide what to choose on the menu. Overall, great spot for a casual, flavorful meal. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy AYCE and want to try different combinations at your own pace.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. First of all, after we were seated, we waited 10 to 15 minutes and no one came to take our order. We kept trying to get a server's attention but they completely ignored us. It was frustrating and felt like we were invisible. Also, they charged $7.50 for a child under 3 years old who didn't even eat anything. That's ridiculous and clearly just a way to squeeze more money out of customers. The customer service overall was terrible. No one seemed to care. We had to ask twice for side dishes and rice and they still never brought them. No apology, no explanation, just ignored us the entire time. And to top it off, they automatically added a tip to the bill without telling us. For what service? Being ignored and overcharged? Would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Thursday with a party of two. We were seated right away, the restaurant wasn't very full. Take note that there's a sign on the door for two hour free parking for the restaurant. We didn't notice this and already ended up paying. We chose the bone broth and the spicy beef tallow broth. Both were very flavorful and tasty. The spicy beef tallow did have a ton of Szechuan peppercorns and chili peppers at the bottom, just to be aware. The sauce station had a good selection of options, though I did notice they didn't have a saucy peanut sauce that I normally like to use. All the skewers and plates in the fridge are a little overwhelming at first. I could see it being a bottleneck during busy hours, but I do appreciate the variety of selections they have. Overall, I did enjoy my first experience here. The meats we ordered were tender and tasty. The skewers were good and a fun experience to cook. The veggies and other refrigerated items were fresh. We also ordered the sugar rice cakes for dessert, super good! I would recommend a try here for sure!

Yelp
We came on a Wednesday evening, nice and quiet crowd -- it did pick up a tad after 6:30pm. Tons of parking -- may be limited on the weekend, but it was ample this evening. Ambiance: 10/10 - open, spacious & very clean Service: 10/10 - friendly & attentive Options: 8/10 - decent selection of items Food Taste/Quality: 10/10 - so tasty This ayce hot pot place has officially made it into our ayce rotation. Not only do they have a good selection of broth options (the beef bone broth & tom yum were so good - not too salty at all), but their meat and skewer options are good as well. Highly recommend upgrading to get the Wagyu beef -- so tender and full of flavor. The sides "snacks" options are limited, but what they had was good -- we had the golden fried rice and crispy fried pork, which were both quite tasty. They also have a huge selection of different dipping sauces and ingredients to add to your sauce -- it was fun mixing up different sauce ingredients to create your own concoction (I was pleasantly pleased with my mixture of minced garlic, chopped green onion, sesame seeds, ponzu, sesame oil, sesame dressing w/a splash of chili oil). Only one pot per table, but can split into 2 flavors -- keep this in mind if you come with indecisive people. If you enjoy hot pot I highly recommend this place to try. Also, if you've been wanting to try hot pot and haven't yet, then this is the perfect place to go. I can't believe it took us so long to try this place out...truly a hidden gem.

Yelp
Started off 2025 with a bang at Nice 2 Meet You! Their Fortune Money Bags are a must-try--soft on the outside and filled with flavorful shrimp inside. It's the perfect way to kick off your meal! Then, choose your own selection of skewers from their refrigerated display, loaded with fresh veggies and more. Next, level up with premium meats like Prime Flat Iron, Angus Rib Eye, and American Wagyu Top Sirloin. We loved the Spicy Beef Tallow Broth and Tom Yum Soup for cooking, plus the golden fried rice was chef's kiss! Such a fun and interactive dining experience--perfect for family or friends. Shoutout to our server for being kind and explaining the hot pot experience!

Yelp
All you can eat meats cooked in your soup broth preference! We ordered "Premium Meats" AYCE (all you can eat) for $ 38.99 /person. Their service is pretty good, they were prompt with delivering our meats. As for the rest of the items, you'll select from all the various assortment of foods! More unique meats, vegetables, seafood (examples: clams, prawns, mussels) , and more. There's even a section of sauces you can use to be paired with your food selections. Prior to leaving, the cashier told me they also have an Irvine, CA location!! Make sure to come visit NICE TO MEET YOU!!

Yelp
First time here; but it's been open for 2 years. The welcome sign w/ pricing stillsaid soft opening; so we assumed that was the case since it wasn't too busy especially on a Friday night in Convoy. They restaurant seemed a bit short staff, but our waitress worked extremely hard. The set up was a bit confusing, but overall the quality and taste of the food made up for it. The restaurant is clean, and tables are able to accommodate large groups. We particularly enjoyed the skewer cooler and also the wagyu and ribeye from menu B. We did a bone broth and tomato base split and enjoyed it. Overall good food. Would definitely try it again now that we have a better idea of how everything works. Also, if you're missing napkins... there's a drawer on both sides of the table for you to pull out and napkins are hidden in there.

Yelp
I've been to Chuan Chuan hotpot and it's pretty unique here in San Diego. If you want a good bang for your buck, Chuan Chuan is sure to fill your hotpot cravings. It's unique because of the refrigerated skewers that you can add to your pot, with unlimited veggies, fishballs and fishcakes, and a small assortment of seafood like squid, shrimp, and fish. It's almost like Haidilao but on steroids and not as fancy --definitely more of a relaxed vibe and casual. The spiced beef on skewers are probably one of the highlights of Chuan Chuan, as it adds more flavor to your soup/pot as you add more skewers. I also like how you can also get abalone or scallop as a special item in addition to your order!

Yelp
I loved liuyishou, but it has been dethroned! This is my now new favorite hot pot place of all time! There are a lot of tables inside. The tables are kinda close to each other but it still looks nice aesthetically. There are 2 prices. 30.99 and 38.99. We just chose the 30.99 bc all we eat is beef belly anyways. The other option has premium meat. These prices are standard for everyday and weekends. If you do the first choice like I did, you get to choose the soup base, then any meat from section 2. We just ate beef belly and lamb shoulder. My husband hates lamb, so he ate the beef belly and thinly sliced pork belly. They also have chicken breasts with the option we went with. Then the third section, you choose a sort of appetizer. This is fried stuff. We got the crispy pork bites and the fried chicken cartilage skewers, but they didnt have the skewers today. That was a bummer bc it's one of my favorite things to eat. Then you can go to the sauce station and get whatever sauce youd like. Next to the sauce station are the skewers. They have so many selections. Beef skewers, pig intestines, chicken knuckles, gizzards, octopus, veggies and many many more. There is only one piece of meat to a stick. I prefer it this way so we don't waste food and most times, our eyes are bigger than our stomachs! This was perfect for me! The broth we got was very delicious! I got the spicy beef tallow with EXTRA spicy, but it was not spicy at all. Thats good though bc if its too spicy, it overwhelms the original flavor of the broth. There's a trash hole with a bin in the table to discard your skewer sticks and trays you use to hold your skewers. The napkins are in the drawer in the table right in front of you where you sit. Its quite cute actually. The broth is flavorful and so many food selections. The service was really nice as well. Our server checked on us a lot and helped us with the menu. Great service and just great hot pot! I will be coming here all the time now! Haha

Yelp
Loving the 3 ninjas motif when you walk in the restaurant. Server we had was attentive all session and was accommodating to my party's needs Food in the fridge is AYCE so help yourself , your server will be bringing you your premium selections from the menu Please order the golden fried rice , as the egg technique presented in that dished pays image to a truly classic Chinese fried rice There is a plethora of broths to choose from, my party and i opted for the mushroom broth as a neutral base and to contrast , we ordered the spicy beef tallow. The spicy levels of the broths are true to each level, we had a mild option and the server was accommodating to offer a side of the spicy sauce that would add extra heat if the mild wasn't enough Will come back to try more broths

Yelp
AYCE hotpot and skewers is so worth it !! really loved all the meats and the mushroom broth is so good servers were kind and very fast, would definitely come back!

Yelp
This is very traditional Chinese-style buffet hot pot. They have TONS of options, from taro to lotus to chicken feet to tang yuan. Absolutely STELLAR selection of foods. The broth was a very good, the bone broth was nice and milky. Having sesame balls and egg rolls included was a real nice touch for dessert. The service was lacking, but that's because there was only one poor woman to man all of the tables. I'll definitely be coming back, as the last skewer hotpot place closed down on San Diego so I'm very happy to have found one again.
google avatar

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Worth the money! I was pleasantly surprised that the skewers were included in the price of either AYCE option. I came right at opening for dinner and the initial beef and lamb tray slices were quite frozen but that was ok since I could explore the skewers. The meat on the skewers are way more tender. The place is very clean and the sauces were clearly labeled and also included. Would recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
A great hot pot place with ayce everything including the whole skewers and unlimited trays of different toppings, you name it and they have it. I am sure with menu A option you will be full already, so don't have to go crazy for menu B since you probably gonna order once then got overwhelmed bu the rest of what they offered. Traditional spicy beef tallow was the most go to here, I'll say they got the authenticity down, but the freshness of all the food didn't quite there. Again for the price of $30 plus taxes and tips, it's still a good deal. You got desserts, appetizers and more. Although some broth and menu item might not be available specifically today they didn't have Tom Yum soup or special chicken cartilage skewers. I didn't need those to get filled up.

Yelp
Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance 10/10 Hotpot has never been more affordable! This hotpot is about $15.99 for up to 8 ppl. Plus $5 per person that includes the side bar buffet. It has salads, desserts, and sauces for the hotpot. Additionally, they have more sides in the fridge like meats and veggies that can be purchased for an additional price. Go check them out! You can thank me laters!

Yelp
I'm so sad this place closed down. It was our go-to hot pot spot. We absolutely loved their bone broth. Add in the egg noodles and whatever ingredients you want and it was chef's kiss. The service was good too. You could always wave a server down and they'd get whatever we needed right away. We loved the music that played too. The sauce bar was great, and they had the best peanut sauce imo. Even the side dishes and the desserts in the bar were great. Gonna miss this place

Yelp
This place is solid. Don't be noobs like us and order off the menu, just pick your broth and hit the fridge! The beef skewers are bomb! The medium broth was pretty Szechuany spicy for us, and we are Koreans! I'd probably go for the mild just to enjoy the flavor of the tallow broth more. We got the bone broth too which was pretty tasty. So many items to choose from! So many skewers to delight in! Reasonable pricing! Service was fast although I don't think the server understood a lot of English - she was great with pictures and charades! Ambience was simple rustic. We'll be back!

Yelp
After the rain, there's nothing quite like indulging in a hot pot to warm the soul. I invited some new friends to join me on this delightful adventure, and we are all having a fantastic time. We took turns diving into the fridge, picking out our favorite ingredients to dip into the bubbling hot pot, creating a delightful blend of flavors. The atmosphere is filled with laughter and joy, making it a perfect gathering place. It's super cozy, and with an all-you-can-eat option, everyone can enjoy as much as they desire. The addition of desserts only enhances this experience, creating a seamless connection between savory and sweet. These moments truly highlight the joy of friendship and good food--an unforgettable gourmet experience filled with happy times.

Yelp
Recently revisited Nice 2 Meet U and they now offer an All You Can Eat menu. You can choose between two different tiers that each offer different selections of premium meats. This AYCE menu even includes full access to their serving stations, which includes the skewers!! Super great deal. The areas are clean and the staff is very friendly. Will be back for more!

Yelp
We recently came back to eat here and were surprised to find out that they're now AYCE! They've completely removed the ability to order a la carte. Luckily for me I was starving! I think I actually prefer AYCE and will likely come here more often now. Before I would stress about keeping track of how many sticks I was consuming and how many sticks each item had. Coming with a group made it tougher to split the bill too since everything had to keep really good count. I also felt a little bad for the staff that they had to count out all the used, dirty skewer sticks. With AYCE, all these problems are fixed! My only complaint is that now that they're AYCE, their tables feel way too small. We had a party of 7 and there was no room for anything. We had one of those shelves on the side for additional space but I had to steal an additional one from another table, and even then things were still cramped. Overall, AYCE has been a great change and can't wait to come back here for more!
google avatar

Leah B.

Yelp
I've never been a huge fan of hot pot before, but this place has definitely changed my mind! We had the tomato and bone broth soups. Even just the soup bases by themselves were so flavorful and rich! The price was very reasonable, we selected the $30 AYCE menu. The meats were tender, the selection of skewers and the veggie/noodle/other stuff all looked super fresh. Everything tasted great, the service was prompt and the restaurant looks clean with comfortable seating. I would definitely come back and bring more people!

Yelp
Since my last review/visit last year I guess they turned into an all you can eat place now. I think just recently too. I was surprised when I walked there was a sign outside for soft opening all you can eat lunch for $31 and dinner for $39. Same concept of going to grab your sauce, veggies, and any skewers and then ordering any meats or premium items via menu/server but now everything is just included. Chinese hot pot is still not my favorite but giving a good review for the service, price point, and it actually wasn't bad. This time I got the tomato broth and the spicy beef tallow soup bases. You can't go wrong with all you can eat! They open pretty late too which is nice after a night of drinking to sober up to hot pot.
google avatar

Liz Z.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this hot pot spot! Price is based on what you select from the colored plates that are self served when selecting the choices from the vegetables, meat, and seafood! This is not based on AYCE which is great and you can take home the food you don't finish after. Enjoyed the sides they offered and their sauce bar was amazing!! The bone broth was creamy and rich as well as the tomato broth wasn't too sweet... Combined both and sipped as a soup and it was bomb.com! I highly recommend trying this place out. Harry took great care of us and made sure we had enough broth and made sure we were doing ok!
google avatar

Britt C.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of hot pot and loved the concept here! AYCE (all you can eat) can be a bit too much for me, as I can't stomach a lot of meet. So I loved that you can choose as much or as little as you want. The sauce bar had a huge variety, and I loved all of the appetizer options. I thought the skewers were a great deal at $.50 cents a pop, and there were so many delicious choices from seafood, to every kind of noodle to choose from in their refrigerators. I chose the bone broth with no spice and my husband had the mild beef spicy tallow, both were very flavorful and tasty. Our favorite meat off of the menu was the wagyu, which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The best part was since it's not AYCE we got to enjoy our leftovers all over again the next day!

Yelp
This was a fun hotpot dinner experience with a group of my friends (about 10-12of us) to try out. We came here around 8pm on a Tuesday evening last year, and it wasn't busy at all. We got seated right away, and had one of the waiters explain the concept to us. All the skewers and sauce bar are self serve ($3 extra for sauce bar per person), and the broth & specific meat selections are through the server. We all shared a split pot of their szechuan spicy & bone broth. Throughout the evening, we grabbed lots of skewer options and vegetable / noodle trays. If I am remembering correctly, you cannot put back an item you took out (due to food safety). You keep track of the self-serve options by collecting skewers in the cups at the corner of the tables, and plates / dishes on the side. At the end, the waiter will count everything and total your bill up for you. Keep in mind that it can add up! Something we didn't pay much attention to was that some skewers have two sticks, meaning it might be more expensive than you think and not worth it in the end. This isn't a spot I would go to regularly because of the hidden expenses (and I like doing hotpot at home), but definitely fun to try a bunch of items with others. The variety was great and I thought the quality of items were really good. There wasn't much I didn't like. It was one girl in our group's first time doing hotpot, and she thought it was a great experience.

Yelp
Things are always better on a stick. A fun and unique style of Chinese Hot Pot in the same parking lot as Manna BBQ. While they do have a variety of sliced meats available, the various goodies offered in the Skewer Fridge are what really makes this place special. The Skewer Fridge. The Holy Grail. The Sticks of Truth. Get the AYCE option, and you can choose whatever you like from the mystical menagerie of meats and miscellaneous morsels. Wood Ear Mushrooms. Chinese Sausage (Lapcheong). Egg Dumplings. Beef wrapped AROUND mushrooms. Pork Belly. Spam?! They're all delectable once dipped into your choice of broth. Though the various levels of spicy brothes are traditional, they have a few fun options such as Tom Yum and Sukiyaki as well. However, I suggest you try at least a bit of the spicy one to experience that unique numbing (ma la) sensation. They have a create your own sauce bar with alot of the traditional options such as leek flower and sesame paste available, along with more contemporary additions like ponzu and hoisin sauce. The sides are also at this sauce bar, including some traditional chilled chinese desserts and cold salads. Try not to go TOO crazy here, but you do need a solid dipping sauce for your delectible sticks of choice. Service is friendly and accomodating. They're quick to refill water, bring you additional dishes from the menu, and help you in any way you need. Most of the cleanup is done by chucking your skewers into the Table Hole. It's half of the fun, so get used to it. Tables are all wooden and transport you to a sidestreet in China...not that I'd know since I've never been. But I IMAGINE it's where it'd transport me. Feel free to try it out for yourself! It's like Hot Pot, but the Side Quest version with sticks. We chose the 30.99 Menu A AYCE Option and it was more than enough, but they also have an upgrade at 38.99 that had some higher quality meats and unique options that I can't remember.

Yelp
If you are looking for analogies on the type of place this is, think of Kula Revolving Sushi, minus the conveyor belt, and hotpot version. Or if you've been to Seapot (which isn't here in San Diego), without the conveyor belt. The ambiance of the restaurant is bright at the tables with a certain element of darkness in the background. You can also place a reservation if needed. Having a meal here is best for communal sharing, best on a cold day. You pick your broth to share for the table with two choices. For the spice level, it could be spicy. If you are unsure, you can have them start you off mild and then add more spice if it's not enough. The menu has items and drinks that aren't available at their appetizers (graffiti) or fridge area. Some of their popular items that even had me eyeing it like the crispy fried pork. After writing down your order, go to the graffiti decorated area to make your sauce to dip your items in. There is also have soups and some fruit with sesame balls - that's usually grabbed towards the end of your meal, but you can do it anytime. Then after putting down your items, you grab a white tray, and make a second visit to gaze upon the fridge and see what items you want in the hotpot. They have a plethora of meat along with some vegetarian options on the stick. Majority of items are seasoned spicy. This is not an all you can eat via one price. One stick is 50 cents. The boxes are priced based on color (which are unlisted). Once you grab your food options, your pot should have been brought to the table already and you can start to enjoy! My favorite to grab was the money bags as we went during Lunar New Year Eve. Parking may be a tad hard if you going during hungry time but there is also street parking. Bathrooms were alright. There are also shelves for holding food that you grabbed, but many patrons put their clothes in the middle to low areas. The most sticks the server who was counting ours was 200 sticks. We ate 78 sticks worth between 5 people at our table. Came out to around $175 without tip. We had 2 big eaters, 2 medium eaters, and 1 small eater. For big eaters, this may not be the place for you to splurge. But for small eaters, this is perfect to eat the amount you want. For those with food sensitivities, it will be hard to eat if your table since everything will be easily cross-contaminated (if you come in a group).

Yelp
Their fried rice is simply the best. It's like ding tai fung fried rice without protein but it's only 5 dollars. I get one serving just for myself every time.

Yelp
Such a fun experience! We went on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was surprisingly empty. The AYCE menu is priced very reasonably. And the staff were extremely attentive and quick to take away our finished plates. The sauce bar was fully stocked. They even have desserts (fresh fruit, Chinese desserts) and appetizers (chicken feet, egg rolls, etc). Truly such a fun experience "shopping" for all of our ingredients from the refrigerated section. Their vegetables were fresh and their meets were tasty. I honestly was not the biggest fan of the skewers. I found that the beef slices they used to wrap the ingredients were very thick. The beef slices that you order from the menu were definitely of higher quality. Final note, GET THE BONE BROTH SOUP!! It's so decadent and, most importantly, DRINKABLE!! if you get the spicy soup base, opt for Mild. My spice tolerance is pretty high but I think Medium would've made the experience less enjoyable.

Yelp
Hot pot reimagined! I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The price is listed on a piece of paper taped to the wall and is based on the color and shape of the plate that you grab. The skewers range from 50cents to 1 dollar depending on what you grab. Each stick is 50 cents, and some meats have two sticks in them . I personally enjoyed the beef wrapped enoki skewers. If you don't want to eat meat/seafood from a skewer, they have meat slices to order and choose from. We chose the bone broth and MILD spicy soup. The spicy soup is spicy but flavorful. They recommended we drop down a level from whatever we thought we could handle, and I'm so glad we did. My favorite broth was the bone broth! They also have a sauce bar with garlic, cilantro, satay sauce, chili sauce, etc and a side bar with seaweed salad, cucumber salad, etc for an EXTRA cost (its not included!). I thought the options from the side bar were good and marinated really well. Parking can be a hassle during peak hours because it's quite small and shared with other businesses there. There are plenty of tables inside that are nicely spaced apart. The servers are friendly and willing to answer questions and recommend options. I recommend trying this place out especially if youre not too keen on ayce places.

Yelp
First time here today for lunch. This a very clean and friendly restaurant. The broth options are great, can even have split pot for two different broths. The selection from the menu is good as well. What I like the most is the refrigerator with all the extras that comes with meal! The server we had was very professional and explained the difference between the two selections of meal plans. We will be back for sure!

Yelp
Nice 2 Meet U is finally offering AYCE! I chose the premium menu and it was $38/pp. BROTH: we chose the bone broth and mild spicy soup. The mild spicy was the perfect amount of spice for me. The bone broth is flavorful and the perfect broth to balance out the spicy soup. MEATS: You can order from the meat selection off the menu and pick however many skewers you want from the fridge. From the premium menu, my favorite was the beef tongue! VEGGIES: Wide selection of veggies from the fridge, such as enoki and napa cabbage. OVERALL: I like that it's AYCE now so definitely come hungry! Also, order the fried rice from the sides.

Yelp
The warm sweet soup with sesame filled mochi was delicious We definitely want to go back and try more of this place with friends!

Yelp
Food was good but service to get anything was suuuppeeer slow! They were super slow on restocking any of the dishes or skewers you can get on your own AND the service to order more ayce meat was basically non-existent. We ordered the ayce meat twice: once at the beginning and once at the end right before they gave our checks because servers were nowhere to be seen or were too busy dealing with tables that had more people (more tip). A lot of smaller tables around us were complaining to each other as well about the slow service. Honestly would come back if service was a lot better because food and soup was good but you're paying ayce price for not ayce basically. It's a nope from me!

Yelp
This place recently opened and I finally got to try it. There is a parking structure where the restaurant is located but it can get really busy. There was a sauce and appetizer bar on the side. In the fridge section you can select veggies, noodles, and screwers - the price are listed by the name or in the menu. You can have two choices of sauce from spicy, bone broth or tomatoes and more. There are additional meet you can order from the menu so there are lots of selection. This place is not all you can eat though so keep that in mind. They have this yogurt drink and it is so good especially after all the oil and spice from the sauce/soup. This is a cool place to try if you have not tried before!

Yelp
Great place for skewer hot pot!!! It was my first time having skewer hot pot, we were trying to go to another place but they were closed for remodel. They only have one person working there but since you grab everything yourself, I guess they dont need that many people. You choose which soup you want ( we got half tomato / half szechuan mala spicy ) and then help yourself to the appetizer / sauce / dessert bar, and then grab skewers from the fridge. The appetizer / dessert / sauce bar had a great selection of appetizers ( duck head, chinese style snow fungus dessert, sesame tong yuan), cold tofu, and shredded beef jerky. The skewers add up quickly! Some of the meat skewers have two bamboo sticks so they cost more than the singe skewers. There is also a large selection of veggies and seafood. I really like the flavors of the soup and the skewers. Great place for people who aren't big eaters because I never get my moneys worth at AYCE. You can also take the soup home!

Yelp
A friend recommended this restaurant, so I brought my whole family with high expectations. However, when ordering, I discovered that their special-priced dishes were not limited to one per person but rather one per table. When I expressed my doubts, the waiter told me, "This is our rule. If you accept it, fine. If not, you can..." and then pointed toward the door. Honestly, I have never seen or even heard of such a thing before. My first thought was: how many months' salary has the owner owed this waiter for them to have such a grudge against the restaurant and drive customers away? This is a big restaurant, yet there were only four tables occupied during dinner--poor owner!

Yelp
Pretty unique experience with getting to try a skewer hot pot place. They also have an appetizer, sauce and dessert bar that you get for $2.50/person. Otherwise the hot pot broth is around $15 base price and then you're charged for whatever skewers, bowls, plates, etc. That you pull from a fridge at the side of the seating area. It's all self service after the waiter brings your broth over. A couple things I wish they had. First, for the sauce bar there's 20+ options for things to include and it's hard to really know what goes well together. It'd be nice if they had some recommended mixes. Second, their meat choices are very heavily beef. I think there was one pork option and no chicken options at all. Since I don't love red meat, I felt my options were limited. That being said, the beef skewer I liked the best was the beef and peppers. The appetizer bar is definitely a steal for the price. I especially liked their tofu and smashed cucumbers. They have a good variety of fruit and dessert soups that are all included as well. I did like the variety of veggies that they have available for the broth. Especially liked the lotus roots. A lot of different mushroom types too.

Yelp
I'm not sure why it has high ratings. The service matched the quality of meat - not good. The server forgot our waters and drink order. We had to call him over for it. That was the only time a server came to our table. The servers were all over the place. The "premium" meat is poor quality. Broth is just okay. The skewers looked good but were bad. Cooked 2 skewers - the 1st one was beef and it ended being cartilage. Had to spit that out. The 2nd was beef wrapped enoki. It was hard to chew, so I ripped it so I could chew it. Didn't bother having more skewers than that since those weren't good. We didn't have more than 1 round of meat since we lost our appetite. Probably the best food we had was the crispy pork appetizer that was made in the back, then brought to the table. Tasted like popcorn chicken. I was behind a family that was at the sauce station, and a little girl sneezed in the sauces. A little fly was on the top shelve where the food was. Just everything made the experience not enjoyable and unappetizing. If you're not familiar with the area - parking is horrible in that lot since there are multiple businesses there.

Yelp
We came in as a group of 3 over an hour before closing, but we felt rushed throughout our meal, and it was very clear the staff was trying to leave as early as possible. As someone who works in the service industry, I completely understand wanting to go home, but this really did have a negative impact on our experience. Otherwise, their selection of skewers was good, their menu options definitely need to be expanded (there were only 4 options, only 1 of them being beef), and all of us ended up with food poisoning the next morning. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite hotpot spots in San Diego! I love that it's AYCE and the price is very reasonable. There's a huge selection of meat and seafood to choose from. I get the spicy beef tallow broth every time and I'm pretty much addicted. The service is great and the owner is really nice. Highly recommend for seafood lovers!

Yelp
My son and I decided to meet at this restaurant because it is open late. We were promptly greet by a super nice young man who explained how to go about ordering. There was plenty of options on the appetizer bar in the refrigerator where the skewers are. The broth we chose was very tasty. The artwork on the walls was very interesting and the place was spotless. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.

Yelp
Well it was a Rainy Day when we came here and guess what a Nice Hotpot would be perfect for an day when it is rainy. So off we went to Nice 2 Meet You and I have to say parking can be a pain but thankfully it was not busy at the time we went . Found a space and we walk in and get seated really quick so we looked over there menu and of course you got to pick your type of base which is soup for your hotpot and how hot or spicy you want your soup base . So we got mild and the two soup base we got were pretty darn good !! And next you go over to the self service refrigerator area and pick up what kind of noodles or Vegetables and certain spicy meats you want to put in your hotpot . They charge by the color of the dish you choose . So we got noodles and the two meats from the menu and I do suggest you go for there Buffet also because it is just 2.50 a person added to your bill and it is Well Worth every Penny !! The Jelly soup is Bomb !! So we added 3 Buffets to our bill and you just go over and eat as much as you want !! The reason for only 4 Stars is the service it was kind of slow We had to wait awhile before someone would come up and take our order !! Looking around and we were hungry also . Finally someone came over and we got our order in !! Overall I say you must give this Restaurant a try if you like Hotpot !! It is really good and I surely can see us coming back for More !! Overall Grade : Food 4 out of 5 Stars but tastes really good Service: 3 out of 5 Stars Needs improvement !! Please check up on your Customers and help them a bit faster !! Cleanness: 4 out of 5 Stars Restaurant seemed pretty Clean and well decorated plus tables were clean . Overall Grade: 4 out of 5 Stars just service needs improvement !!

Yelp
This has to be one of my new fave spots, especially if i wanna take friends/family out. Food is great and service was even better. I'm still dreaming about this place
