The choices for Chinese hot pot here in Los Angeles are kind of limited (there are probably only five that are worth going to?), especially when you want the ones that are delicious and don't make you feel like you'd just splurged on a meal? Then, look no further then Nice 2 Meet U (那年遇见)!This place can get really crowded at dinner time! Nevertheless, the constant long lines are definitely justified 👌! The place is clean, and their customer service is great and very responsive. Moreover, the atmosphere here is pretty cozy even when it's crowded because everyone seems to be enjoying their meals🤤! Moving on to their food, the skewers are priced at $0.45 each and the one that can add up to your bills at the end are the colored plates (3/4 plates would already cost you $30 or more). As for the broth, if you choose to go for the spicy beef oil flavor and unless you are good at eating spice, then you'd better pick the mildest spice level available because it can get really spicy. I have personally tried the bone broth, but they tend to be left untouched because I would just dip all of my skewers on the spicy 🔥🌶️ broth! They also have side dishes right in front of the entrance which you can get for a fixed price, so get them to your heart's content! Food I would recommend: - Pork intestines (10/10): When I am driving to this restaurant, this is all I could think about! - Spicy beef (10/10): My second favorite meat! - Frozen Tofu (10/10): The ones served here just taste special! - Original Fried Rice (10/10): Not only do they taste good, but they also help to reduce the spice numbness in your mouth! Nevertheless, if there's something that I wish could be done better, then it's the fact that they don't seem to have exhausts in the restaurant. Therefore, as it gets crowded, you would notice that the place might get really smokey! Finally, this is a must try for Chinese hot pot lovers! You would not be disappointed!

I had been looking forward to trying this place forever before coming for my lunch yesterday, but it's not really anything special when compared with other hot pot restaurants in the area. Except that some items are offered on skewers; that adds up fast, though. You can order off the menu, however get most of your food from the fridge. Firstly, their pork bone broth was actually flavorful, whereas it seems to be pretty bland at other places I've had it at. I also ordered lamb and angus beef, which came out frozen and tasted fine. I liked my tomato soup as well. I believe their noodles are handmade, so I enjoyed those. One serving was enough for me. Probably wouldn't come back, considering how many hot pot restaurants we have in this area.

Google
Such an affordable restaurant where you can get authentic Chinese hot pot! Recommended the pepper pork belly chicken broth. It’s a little spicy because of the pepper but it’s really tangy and you can get chicken chunks inside the soup. As for the skewers, I like the tripe, mala beef with okra, bean curd, and their veggies. Apart from the skewers, they also provide side dishes such as seaweed, peanuts, dry beef, desserts, and fruits. This is my second time dining at this restaurant and I do enjoy my experience here.

Google
Good experience for the real Sichuan style hotpot. The spicy broth could be quite spicy. You scan the QR code to order some basic things and the broth. Then take a tray to pick up the skewers to cook at your table. The price was not well marked, especially for the things in the containers. Not all you can eat. At the end, the server will count the skewer stick to calculate the total amount you need to pay. Could be pricey if eat a lot. Free desserts at the entrance. Interesting experience.

Google
Very authentic Chinese Sichuan style hot pot, there are dishes that are served directly on the plate, and dishes that use bamboo skewers, the price is very cheap, and the taste is also delicious. There are also many free snacks, especially chicken feet and sweet ice jelly. The interior environment is very characteristic and the lanterns are beautiful. The only downside is that there are too many seats and the seats are very close.

Google
This place is quite famous among Chinese-food lovers for its its very affordable price. $30 per person you can get great variety of food, snacks, and skewers; of course there are very high-end ingredients that you can order (like abalone) and cost per person goes up. The ingredients/ skewers are freshly made daily, but the soup base is a bit too salty without much flavor. I may go back for its great affordability.

Second time eating at Nice 2 Meet U and we decided to go off hours for lunch. There was no wait getting a table even though it was Chinese eve New Year. I highly recommend that you try this restaurant. Get there early because of the crowds. It is pricey.

Google
Really good hot pot place with skewers. Each skewer is 45 cents. Some plate dishes can be expensive. The median spicy was quite spicy for me. Overall a fun a tasty experience

Yelp
This is probably the most affordable hot pot place in LA. Their food quality has always been consistent and service is always on point. This is one of the few Asian places where you don't have to ask for a water refill or tissue refill. They will come and do all those without asking. Food is also fresh and soup broth is always on point. Their fried pork and mushrooms are also a must-order. Beef tripe is a 10/10. Their free side dish and dessert are also super yummy. Environment can be a hit or a miss from time to time.

Yelp
Welcome to the hotpot haven of San Gabriel! Nice 2 Meet U has been holding its own in this fiery food landscape for quite some time now, and let me tell you, it's got some serious chops. Picture this: most folks walk in craving that classic dual-broth setup - one spicy, one mellow. It's a match made in hotpot heaven. What sets this spot apart? Well, for starters, they've got an appetizer spread that'll make your taste buds dance. And here's the kicker - they're budget-friendly too! Instead of shelling out big bucks for pre-made plates, you can hit up their self-serve fridge line and load up on skewers for just 50 cents a pop. Talk about a steal! Now, let's talk spice. Their spicy broth isn't for the faint of heart - even the mild option packs a flavorful punch. But fear not, it's worth every sweat-inducing slurp! So, if you're in the mood for a hotpot adventure that won't break the bank, Nice 2 Meet U is the place to be. Just be sure to bring your appetite and your tolerance for heat - you're gonna need 'em!

Yelp
Went on a Friday night around 7:30pm and surprisingly we were seated right away. We sat down and decided to do the AYCE option. We first ordered our broth and items that you can only order through their menu (briskets, egg rolls, golden buns, chicken nuggets, etc) You can choose up to two broth. Then we went to the fridge that they have in the back to get the rest of our food. They have a lot of variety of meat and veggies. They also have quail eggs which is one of my favorite items to get for hot pot. They also have a fridge full of drinks but they are not included in the AYCE price. They have a sauce bar that has a decent amount of sauces but I was disappointed that they didn't have ponzu sauce. Service was pretty good. The 3 times that I needed to order something off the menu, the waitress acknowledged me right away and took my order immediately.

Yelp
This location is located in a super busy plaza right across from focus plaza. I feel like we got lucky with parking. Food here is great! You order your soup base from the QR code as pick the skewers from the fridge. I love the idea of the skewers because you get to try a bit of everything instead of ordering a dish and not liking it. The price is also very reasonable. What I don't like was the snack bar being at the entrance. It felt like the food would be contaminated and it is literally right at the entrance with the doors wide opened.. people walking by and it just felt like bugs and sorts could fly around and land on the food. Snack bar was a pass for me and it was too bad because I really wanted to try it! Hopefully they have a better place to locate the snack bar at the next visit.

Yelp
Very straight forward hotpot. The meats were readily available in the fridge and you just had to grab them and they charge by the plate or by the skewer. Other meats you can order through the menu. Nothing special about the flavors but it's definitely a solid place. I'd go back here if I'm craving hotpot on a rainy day and I just want something warm and familiar.

Yelp
The place was decent for my first time. My friends go here often but I honestly believe they should up their game on their self serve side dishes. There are other great hotpot places in the SGV at the same price point with better options and at the same time serve the meat/veggies on your table compared to self serve option. Parking was manageable on a weeknight, it might get busy on a weekend for this plaza. Service was alright as they were quick but this is definitely a no frills hotpot spot.

Yelp
Worth the try: load up on the skewers, they're only 49 cents per stick. Beef coriander was the best IMO, but it doesn't hurt to try everything else. Also, the meat takes a bit longer to cook than typical thin sliced hot pot meats, so keep that in mind and be sure to leave the skewers in there long enough. Tip: The "butter pan" AKA the "spicy broth" is SPICY. We got "slightly slightly spicy" and it was already pretty spicy. Bearable and tasty, but spicy. Be weary when ordering higher spice levels. Bonus tip: Sauce is an extra charge at $1.95/pp. Bonus bonus tip: The sides in front are free. They're pretty good at refilling empty dishes, but some of the ones that are left there longer don't look too appetizing. PARKING: Lots of free parking available in front or underground. SERVICE: Most of the food is self-serve, or you can order through the QR code at the table. Servers don't speak too much English, so it can be difficult to communicate if you need anything. The English menu doesn't translate well either, and the sauce bar only has labels in Mandarin. You'll either be shooting in the dark and guessing half the time, or you'll have to know what you're ordering or bring a Mandarin-speaking friend with you. ATMOSPHERE: Good amount of seating available, but the restaurant feels small and the walkways are narrow. It's difficult to walk around when it's crowded and everyone else is up and about. Got stepped on a couple times, by a server and a customer. I've been craving hotpot and had this place bookmarked for the occasion. It seemed like a fun experience, especially with the self-serve skewers, but unfortunately there wasn't enough for me to come back another time. Felt like the quality of everything was pretty average, and there's a number of other restaurants nearby that also do skewers and hot pot at a fair price.

Yelp
I was craving hot pot but wanted a place that let's me pick out my meat and veggie portion so I don't leave hungry or end up over ordering. This place let's you choose all the meats and veggies from the fridge. The ingredients on the sticks aren't hefty or meaty but it's quite cheap since you pay per stick. For people who aren't natives from China like myself, some of the meats offered are quite unique and have interesting names but they're mostly tasty. There's also a sauce bar to concoct sauces to your heart's desire, a free flow side dish and dessert table right at the entrance of the restaurant, and additional meat dishes you can order via your phone. This place reminds me of being in China. It seems authentic to me, the food, vibe and all. Don't let the 3.5 stars deter you from trying this spot. I would totally go back to this for hot pot.

Yelp
Parking: Relatively difficult to find parking on the ground level, but there's plenty of underground parking. Ambience: Decently sized restaurant with ample seating, but it's fairly crowded and the spaces are narrow. There are free appetizers near the entrance (+1 star), which are a nice amenity but they're located right next to the door, so that means lots of wind being blown onto the uncovered dishes. Service: Slow, and relatively difficult to get anyone's attention as they were fairly busy. You order your soup base(s) and meats off the QR code that's unique to each table, then grab your own skewers and sauces. There were QR codes with Chinese flyers, and some of the staff seemed to prefer to speak Mandarin over English. Skewers for many of the items seemed a bit excessive when many of the items were quite small and would've been better placed into a small bowl as opposed to an individual skewer. Taste: The soups were quite good and the selection of skewers is fairly extensive! Was relatively surprised by how expensive it came out to be given that no prices were noted anywhere, so we didn't know how much we should get.

Yelp
Nice 2 Meet U is my current obsession -- I honestly thought I had already written a review for them! I've been shuttling my friends to try this place, and all of them have loved it!! If you're looking for a place with delicious Chongqing styled hot pot but not looking to empty your wallet, this is the place for you! Lines can get long, but the waits are pretty reasonable. I highly recommend getting one of the marinated sliced meats because they are just SO tender, and then grabbing skewers for the rest of the night. They have the best kind of imitation crabs (my favorite at hot pot restaurants so my experience is HIGHLY influenced by this factor) and noodles! Last I checked, each skewer is $0.45 -- what a steal!! The only thing I'm disappointed by is that I've never been able to try the foods at the front. It's just happened to always be empty when I've checked it out. For a (basically) self service restaurant, the service is great. Diligent and quick! Because I overestimate my spice tolerance time and time again, I need a lot if water when eating here. Long story short: I've never had to stop eating to wait for water! Also once I left my glasses there, and one of the waiters RAN after me to catch up. I don't even know how he found me, because I walked out of the plaza. It was definitely an AW moment :')

Yelp
It was my birthday, so the six of us decided to get some hot pot and "yell"at each other over self-serve hot pot haha (b/c it's so loud and crowded inside) We grabbed a bunch of different meat and vegetable from the freezer, and started dwelling the delicious meat from the sticks, so I didn't take many photos this time, Jorry! The bill came up with a very reasonable price and we were wondering why. But I found out that my boyfriend had signed up for the membership which means the bill is 15% off. Good for my friends who paid for me :P Overall I will come back here for the next time I crave a family-style hot pot like this again. We had a lot of fun and we eat on our own pace. At the end of the night the waiter was super friendly to free me a can of Ba-Bao-Zhou on the house (for my BD), replacing ice cream I guess? thank you :)

Yelp
The hot pot was pretty good, you can get a split pot to share two different soups with friends. We got non spicy and spicy soups. You can grab skewers from the fridge or order meat on your phone. They also have appetizers out in front, but there aren't coverings on these. What We Got- -non spicy soup -spicy soup -quail eggs -cabbage and lettuce -beef wrapped with enoki mushroom -pork belly -lotus roots -bamboo shoots The skewers are priced by the amount of sticks they have in it. For example, a bamboo shoot will have one while a beef wrapped with enoki will have four sticks in it.

Yelp
Dive into a hot pot haven at this DIY hot pot place. This spot nails the art of customizable broths and fresh ingredients. From the fun vibrant atmosphere to the pippin hot pot, it's a hot pot experience that leaves taste buds delighted. My favorite is that you get to choose whatever you want to out inside your soup. Picking fresh vegetables and meats at their fridge is fun for everyone.

Yelp
The free dishes are so good that I wonder how they earn money... Checkout the picture!!! Some of them look plain but hidden gem. I got almost full before my hotpot.

Yelp
Still decided to post this here after having diarrhea from Nice 2 Meet U. We found a BIG fly in the hot pot before finishing the meal, and it was discussing especially we ate the food with the fly in the same pot. The staff was understanding and nice. Nothing wrong with the service, and we got the meal for free. However due to the health concern we would never dine here again or recommend anyone going.

Yelp
Yummy! I love a good hot pot place with sauce bars and appetizers. No wait and plenty of parking in the underground garage for a Saturday lunch. First things first, you sit down and scan the QR code to order the soup and any other sides/meats/drinks on your phone. My fam and I don't eat spicy, so we ordered the tomato broth and pork bone broth. The broth is kind of expensive BUT you can take it and any leftovers to-go, which we did and later made noodles with it at home. So good! We had a lot of fun discovering the different skewers and free appetizers up front. Our fav is the marinated chicken feet. For meats, we preferred the meat plates ordered on your phone. They seem to be better quality and more plain. The only downside is there aren't many types that you can order. This place isn't all you can eat, but everything was tasty and we ate until we exploded before bringing home buckets of soup leftovers.

Yelp
Out of all the hot pot places I've tired, this is my least favourite. I like the fact that it's a self serve however the options for sauces were minimal and the quality of the ingredients were not as fresh. Last time we went, the medium spicy broth was extremely spicy and gave all of us a bad stomach ache for 2 days. I've had medium spicy here before, it was never this spicy.

Yelp
The Service: Mostly self-service but there are still many staffs around if we need service. They even checked on our table & added more soup base for us. Good customer service! The Food: I have been addicted watching those mukbang of eating skewer type of hotpot in China. Finally~ I was trying it for the first time myself! Super excited~ It is a self-serve style. They have so many different varieties of vegetables, meat & all kinds of hotpot items. Actually, I prefer the skew system because I can try one of each first before I go back & get more of those I like. I like how they use the pot for double soup base so we could try one spicy & one not spicy. It makes everyone happy doesn't matter if you can eat spicy or not. There is a sauce bar, you can mix your own sauce to your liking. Also, don't forget there is an appetizer & dessert bar close to the front door. The Parking: Limited parking spots on the ground floor. However, lots of spaces underground. (Free!)

Yelp
Fun place to eat at, large variety of skewers to choose from, I'd recommend not getting too much of the premium stuff and sticking to the meat skewers. Overall 8/10
google avatar

Yelp
This was my very first time having this style of hot pot or most of the meats and vegetables are in skewers. I like how you can just walk up to the fridge and grab your own meats and veggies. I ordered the non-spicy bone broth along with a very mild spicy broth. I was hoping that the spicy broth wouldn't be in so deadly because a lot of times these hot places make the broth super spicy. They give you a piece of paper to check off all the options and extra food items to order from the kitchen. This is a perfect place to come with either two or four people. You control the amount of portions to grab on your own. They count the number of skewers to calculate your bill. Everything we tried was super fresh and the quality was outstanding. The staff keeps everything clean and organized by constantly making sure that things are in orderly manner. Parking can be tricky on weekends. I highly recommend giving them a try!
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
This place is delicious! LOTS of variety when it comes to meats/protein, sauces, etc. It's very different than your standard hot pot because they have these skewers that you grab from the fridge and then cook them in the broth. So many marinated meats like beef wrapped in mushroom, spam which is amazing in the spicy broth, lamb, chicken, shrimp etc. huge variety of veggies, mushrooms, and even the shrimp ball with roe inside (my fav)! The broth is flavorful with good spice but not overwhelming. I like the chili oil spicy with a little numbing. The sauce bar has a lot of variety too! I make a sesame paste with garlic, chives, and the Chinese bbq sauce. Come hungry! Parking is relatively easy as it goes underground too. The place is in the corner within a plaza. Must try! Luckily I went with someone who knew Chinese but if you don't the meats and menu items may be hard to read, but you can ask

Yelp
This is such a good idea to have ítems on skewers for hot pot! That was so much fun! They have a variety of meats, vegetables, and treats in the fridges, and you pick them up yourself. You can also ask for plates of sliced meats as well. The different color plates are charged differently, and they charge by skewers as well (~45 cents a skewer). We got the herbal soup base and the spicy one. The herbal one was so good! I felt so healthy dipping my meats in that one. There is also a sauce bar that you can make your own dipping sauce but then with the broth being so flavorful, I didn't use my sauce much. The shrimp balls are so good! I think all the skewered meats are great too. Some of them are wrapped around pickled veggies or other vegetables, and it's so good! They have this coconut milk drink that was so good! I wish the carton was bigger. Overall a good experience and the staff is very friendly as well!

Yelp
Nothing brightens my day like hot pot with great company! Nice 2 Meet You is located in a pretty busy plaza in the heart of San Gabriel; it is in the plaza adjacent to the Hilton Hotel located on Valley Blvd and has plentiful of underground parking (and it's FREE parking too). Perfect spot to eat and take a breeze (... to the local boba shops haha) after a good meal. They are definitely a must-try hot pot spot since it is my first time seeing a hot pot restaurant that put veggies / meat in skewers. My friends and I ordered the Spicy Beef Tallow Soup in medium spice and Chinese Herbal Soup. The broth had a nice aroma, and was very rich with flavor that all the food we cook was so delicious! I sometimes even forget to dip in the sauce I made at the sauce bar since the broth really coated the food well. What makes them special is that they have 4-5 fridges of hot pot ingredients you can get up and choose from. They really made sure we got variety because I saw fish balls, tofu, tons of vegetables, meats, and so much more. All I can say is that what I wanted, they got it! As for pricing, the skewers were 40/45 cents each and for the colored boxes of food-- each have different pricing. Please check the picture I attached for the menu pricing. They also have meat you could order on the menu, and a couple of other hot food that we order like the fried rice and crispy fried pork! And the best part about this place, since they have a lot of variety you can most likely try new items that you haven't before! My friends and I got the pineapple wrapped in beef on a skewer. It was odd combination, but it worked so well together. I ended up loving this combo a lot. Also I tried these freshly made shrimp balls and they were so chewy and delicious. Now I can't eat those store bought shrimp balls anymore without thinking about these delicious ones I got at this place. And let's not forget, the customer service here is pretty good! They waiter came by couple of times checking to make sure we were hydrated. My only two concerns would be the lack of translation of the items in the fridge and the placement of the dessert/appetizer bar was a bit questionable. The translations would be super helpful for folks that are looking to try hot pot for the first time, and seeing what they are eating will make them feel a bit more comfortable and makes the restaurant more welcoming in general. As for the dessert/appetizer bar, it located near the front door where when the door opens.. dust can come in and such. It would make more sense if the food was place elsewhere, or if they have a barrier (aka a lid) to cover the food. Overall, this place is amazing and I'll definitely come back with friends and family again! Love the concept of being able to select our items in the fridge without having to wave down a waiter.

Nina Y.

Yelp
服务太差了,我来这家店很多次了以前的服务还行,最近来了个新的服务员态度特别差,她只让我们坐在非常靠近她的位置,方便她好送餐,我们的位置又小又挤,我已经不想再吃了 The service here is absolutely terrible! I've been to this place many times before, and the service used to be okay. But recently, there's this new server whose attitude is just atrocious. She only lets us sit in a spot that's extremely close to her, just so it's convenient for her to serve the meals. Our spot is both tiny and cramped. I don't even feel like eating here anymore!
google avatar

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Service was friendly but that's pretty much it. The Every skewer we ordered came with the exact same flavor and spicy level, no variation. Salty and spicy. Enoki mushroom was soaked in grease. Sour and spicy noodle was so oily and salty I had a bite and had to spit it out. It was around 90 degrees outside, they kept the restaurant door wide open on purpose and the AC seem to be on low, so a fly was constantly hovering over our food.

Yelp
Authentic spot to get Chinese hot pot in SGV! They have a fantastic variety of meats and veggies to choose from, so I highly suggest going with a group so you can try lots of items! We got two types of broth: house spicy tallow (medium spicy) and bone broth ( not spicy). The spicy table is the numbing kind of spice so just be aware. Medium was enjoyable for me without being distracting, and I don't have a huge spice tolerance. Most of the items you'll get are self-serve from in the fridge area along the back wall of the dining area, but some specialty items can be ordered off their paper menu. Sauce bar is also self serve with lots of options as well. You basically grab what you want and pay per skewer at the end, something like 40 cents a skewer. I liked the tender beef options wrapped in things like pineapple, cilantro, or enoki mushrooms. Off the specialty menu, I enjoyed the lamb shoulder and beef tongue! I found the flavors and menu to be very authentic (they have frog if you're feeling adventurous !) We even had fried sticky rice cakes with brown sugar, and Beijing yogurt available (iykyk) One thing I would recommend for them to do is add English translation to the items in the fridge as it can be hard to discern what the skewers are just by looking, if you can't read Chinese. This will help newcomers who are just discovering the flavors Chinese hotpot to feel more comfortable exploring! Service was attentive, and the staff came by frequently to check up on us and fill our waters.

Yelp
It's not really noticeable from the outside. The resturant is kinda tucked away in the corner (first floor). Things I learned if you have a low size tolerance like me, definitely try going for non spicy broths. We ordered the med spicy broth which was definitely more flavorful than the bone broth but it is hella spicy. This is coming from someone who thinks hot cheetos are spicy though. One thing though, this is definitely a place you need to go with in a group. There's an ample amount of food and I thought trying the split hotpot where you can choose two kinds of broth makes it an experience and allows you and your friends to try different kinds of soups. They also have this giant fridge full of ingredients which is quite nice because you can select the fresh veggies, additional meats, and FISH BALLS to put in your hot pot. Traditional hot pot at its best!

Yelp
I'm a big fan of hot pot so you know I have to try this spot! This place is different from all the other hot pot places I have been to but I love the concept of it. Nice 2 Meet U has all the essential ingredients for hot pot at a reasonable price (they charge per skewer stick). My table got the pork and tomato broth which were both delicious! The pork bone broth was super creamy and the tomato broth has a strong tomato taste which is different from the others but still delicious! They have a sauce bar so you can customize your own sauce to your liking! This is a skewer type of restaurant so you pick out all your veggies, fish balls, meat, and other ingredients from the refrigerators! My must-have for hot pot are enoki mushroom, napa cabbage, enoki beef, beef, popping fish ball, and more. Overall, this place is great and I love the concept of being able to choose my own item!

Yelp
3 stars for this unique hotpot restaurant. I came here with some friends to try it out. It's definitely a lot of fun since each person can pick out the items they want and cook it themselves, but just beware that certain items (namely the items that come in colored bowls of various shapes and sizes) are vastly overpriced. The soup base is $12.95 and you can select 2 different types. We got the tomato and pork ones, which were both quite delicious. The pork one was my favorite though! Highly recommend it. The skewers cost 45 cents each, with certain items coming with two skewers attached, which equates to 90 cents. The idea of cooking with skewers so you can easily keep track of and fish out your items from the big pot of soup is pretty smart, though also bad for the environment. I think the meat items are pretty good, but some of the other items can be a bit of a rip off. For example, if you want taro, a tiny cube of it the size of my thumb costs a whopping 45 cents. They do have a great variety of items though- including lotus roots, quail eggs, seafood etc. They also charge $1.95 per person for the all you can eat snack bar they have located at the front of the restaurant (not very sanitary, as it is wide open to the outdoor pollution as well as close in proximity to the mob of people waiting for a table.) This snack bar is pretty nice with tasty offerings like fruit (watermelon, grapes), peanuts, chicken feet, sweet potato fries, edamame, and various types of Chinese dessert soups. My biggest mistake was getting the red bowl of mixed vegetables. You'd think vegetables would be cheap, but it was $7.95 for veggies that probably would've cost me less than $1 at the market. So I'd say skip on the veggies here, although what's hotpot without some good veggies? :/ Ooh also, they have a ton of sauce options. Only downside is that there's no English labels, only Chinese, so it's tricky for those who don't read Mandarin. This place is a bit gimmicky for what it is offering, but it does allow for a fun and interactive dining experience with friends. I think you just have to be smart about the items you select! I'd personally stick with the snack bar and skewers only and skip the colored bowls.

Yelp
Sichuan style hot pot! Definitely bring your crew to share as there's too many options to pick from! We choose the 1/2 spicy and 1/2 bone broth and it was a good balance to alternate between the two. While waiting for the hot pot to arrive, you can get started by getting a tray located near the fridge and start shopping for your hot pot goodies. Was really impressed with the type of meats, veggies, and other goodies they have to offer. I highly recommend putting a English label or at least a small picture icon (ie cow emoji for beef) for those who can't read Chinese. Especially in the meat section where everything kind of look alike. Would help speed up the shopping process as well. Service was fantastic, they were more than happy to answer any questions we have. Free garage parking is always a plus. Great that they have so many locations. I'm interested in checking out their newest Irvine location too.

Yelp
Finally hot pot that I enjoy! If you know me I am not a huge fan of hot pots. This place has a lot of the more rare/exotic offerings like intestines, tripe, innards, etc that are really popular in China hot pot scene right now. Lots of variety to choose from - definitely bring lots of people so you can try more skewers! I really liked the decor as it really transported me back to China. Service was tentative as well.

Yelp
Hot pot! I haven't been to any other hot pot places so I can't compare. First you pick your soup base(s). Then you go to the refrigerators to pick out your skewers of meat and plates of various foods to cook. You can also order stuff off the menu as well. Next you pick out your sauces. Everything (food & sauces) is labeled in Chinese without any English. In addition there's a $1.95 charge per person that is mandatory which covers sauces and unlimited appetizers. Appetizers include seaweed salad, baby clams, pickled cucumbers, chicken feet, Asian soup desserts, fruits, sesame balls, etc. I believe they change daily. Munch on that as you wait for the water to boil. Skewers cost $.38 cents and one piece of meat gave two skewers = $.76 for a single piece of meat. Colored plates have various prices. Bonus you can carry the remaining soup to go home and use it with some ramen the next day!

Yelp
Okay ABCs, although it's a "unique" experience for some, this hotpot on skewers thing is a common sight in Chengdu, China. Bearing an authentic Sichuan experience in the heart of SGV, Nice 2 Meet U is arguably the best skewer hot pot I've had (at least better than Malubianbian). If it wasn't for my international girlfriend, I would never have even thought of coming to this place as an ABC. For starters, they have many soup bases to choose from. I'd recommend getting a split pot, just to try the different soup bases; I'd recommend a bone broth/tomato soup paired with a mild/medium spicy pot (leaning more towards mild since these southwestern Chinese girls define spice). You can ask for refills of soup free of charge. This is a self serve place, with you getting up (yes ppl, walk) to get your own skewers/plates of raw meat and veggies. They charge by the skewer count and plate count, and you can easily rack up a bill, so a boba drink to top off your tummy never hurts! Everything is so delicious, but as a foreigner, you're better off just looking at the meats you want instead of deciphering chinese code. If you can, bring a friend who can read chinese; you'll get a feeling you're in China real quick. The front of the store lies not only free sauces to combine for your own pleasure (thanks tiktok), but an unlimited supply of fruits and side dishes that pair well with this hot pot style. Just don't forget they exist, since they are kind of hidden behind a wall from the main dining area (although exposed at the entrance) Just be warned that some spice is basically inescapable, so you'll have to tolerate at least a bit of spiciness to fully enjoy your experience. 5/5, this has been the go to spot for authentic sichuan hotpot!

Yelp
I've been in this plaza several times, but I don't think I've actually noticed this restaurant until recently. With such a unique sounding name, it definitely is memorable! There's another location in Rowland, but this particular one opened up within the last year or so. They're located in the Hilton plaza - plenty of parking underground if you can't find ground level parking. The basic concept of this restaurant is hot pot with skewers. Each pot comes with the option of two different soup bases (total of six different broths to choose from). From there, you can pick your skewer selections from the menu (prices are a little bit more expensive) or go to the refrigerated section and "shop around" for the ingredients that you want to eat. In the refrigerated section, there's pretty much all you can think of that's stuck to a skewer - meats, meats that have some vegetables inside, marinated meat (all the meats seem to be beef), fish balls, beef balls, corn, bamboo, etc. There are also larger trays (prices are indicated by the color of the trays) of the same ingredients, I guess that is usually shared amongst the table. There's also a sauce bar in the front where you can mix sauces and condiments as well as a dessert and appetizer area in the front of the restaurant (sesame balls, seaweed salad, grass jelly, etc). The items are unfortunately all labeled in Chinese, so I had to use my deduction skills and basically grabbed whatever items that looked good. Ended up finding some pretty tasty beef that had cilantro inside as well as some intestines. Even though the meat was cooked in the broth, I think the meat's quality was really good that I didn't taste any of the broth it was cooked in and only got the true flavor of the meat itself. The beef ball, quail eggs, duck intestine, lotus root were all tasty. I wasn't a big fan of the sauces that were offered - but maybe because I didn't know what they were and I ended up grabbing soy sauce. Skewers are $0.45 cents each and they count the number of skewers and trays at the end of the meal before totaling up the bill. I really enjoyed the overall concept! You pay a flat fee for the broth (two soup option for $12.95) and then you control the rest of the bill by the number of skewers that you grab. The place does get busy on the weekends! Workers seem to be busy restocking items, so if you need something, you'll likely have to flag them down. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
/)/) ( . .) ( づ food made me really happy so 5 stars! to note: everything is self service, the spicy is numbing burning spicy I had a really really really yummy dinner! My sister and brother-in-law claims it's their favorite hotpot spot! Restaurant was clean. Huge variety for sauce and sides such as fresh watermelon to help ease the spice. We consumed 90 skewers total, bill came out to $60 which is a steal for 3 people. So yummy :)

Yelp
This is my first time trying a hot pot & skewer place. It's a interesting concept. My family came like at 9pm on a sunday night and there was still a 20 minute wait. You pay for basically everything except the sides they have near the door. I also thought that was a bit unsanitary because people were walking in and out and the door was left open and there's cars passing by outside in the parking lot. So you pay for the soup base and everything that you get, there is a fridge with all the meats/veggies and they charge based on the color of the container and the number of sticks from the meat. It's actually pretty good overall, I would definitely come back.

Yelp
I always love coming here for skewered hot pot! The tomato & herbal soup bases are perfect for sharing and accommodating people in your party who don't really eat that spicy of flavors. It's honestly a good experience if you're not planning to eat all that much or if you absolutely just want pig out

Yelp
Fun experience, good services. Ordered the soup base and meat through the website with QR code posted on table. But kind of pricey in my opinion. I think they charge each person $1.95 sauce based fee.

Yelp
I got a chance to try this place today and will say hands down one of the best soup tasting hotpot broths ever. We got the pork bone soup which was so creamy and fulfilling and my other favorite tomato broth which had a strong tomato taste. In terms of meats and veggies you grab them right from the fridges and are charged for what you get. If you are like me and a sucker for quail eggs make sure to load up on those. I literally got two trays. I've never tried this concept of pay per stick but starting to really like it especially since if you go with a group it's easier to make sure people don't steal your goods! Everything is in mandarin so it could be a tad difficult to navigate through some of the selection but just pick what looks good hahaha

Yelp
New hotpot that just took over. Waiter was fast & efficient and if you speak Mandarin that's a plus. We were a party of 5 on a Saturday evening and got seated almost right away. You have to pick 2 broths for your starting base and grab the skewers on your own in front of the entrance. I would highly suggest the broth base as one of your halves. The tallow had a strong chili flavor with a ton of oil... almost too much for my liking. ** EACH SKEWER IS AROUND 38 cents but some items have 2 skewers on them so its ~76 cents.** For the price, each skewer had very limited items on the stick. When picking them from the refrigerators, sometimes the items would stick together or it'd just fall off. I suggest ordering actual meat slices off the menu. If you do order from the menu, be prepared to wait. Parking is easy to find underground. Food was alright but nothing to hit home about. I did like that we ate outside and that it was easy to get a waiter flagged down.

Yelp
I loveeeeee hot pot so I naturally was stoked to try this place w my friends. Super fun experience unlike any other hot pot restaurant I've been to. Grab your skewers & dip, super easy & delicious. Love the spicy broth & went crazy on all the veggie options yum! I'm one of those people that loves lettuce/cabbage & almost anything green haha I'm usually fussy about eating meat. I only like great quality, but this spot definitely I couldn't resist eating a little in between my veggie skewer bites. Definitely a come hungry, leave happy kinda spot

Yelp
We were excited to find out they Nice 2 Meet U opened up here in San Diego. We keep seeing this hot pot spot on Tiktok and glad we didn't have to drive up to the OC. You pick your soup bases and meats with the server and the big thing here are the selection of skewers that you get to choose from. The selections were plentiful even for vegetarians as they had plates of veggies, skewers for seafood lovers and meat lovers. Now, the 2 star rating is mainly from the poor service, messy sauce station and the "mild" broth that was hardly mild. The mild broth was super spicy and the broth was way too red for it to be mild. Mostly not their fault but the sauce station was a mess with flavors mixed in and the toppings all over the place. Service was poor to fair as it took awhile to get anyone's attention even though it wasn't busy. Parking in the Convoy area is as expected with this place.

Yelp
Nice hot pot place in Rosemead area. Self service but not all you can eat. The meat is fresh and the selection is good. Good place for a night out.

Yelp
"Nice 2 Meet U" serves very authentic hot pot from China. It is different than any other hot pot restaurant I have been to. They have more unique and special dishes than other hot pot locations. The restaurant offers multiple soup bases, and I decided to go with the spicy bone broth. After selecting your soup paste, you get to choose from a variety of veggies and meat. Most of the meat and veggies are served on skewers, which is something new and interesting that I've never seen before. With lots of variety, There is something for everyone here. My only request is that even though this is a very authentic restaurant, it would be very helpful if they were English signs for what each dish was. I had to ask around because I was unable to read the Mandarin Chinese signs.

Yelp
Pretty authentic hotpot with lots of skewer meat and veggie options. The broths are delicious and spicy, and the meats are nice and tender. This place is on the pricier end of hotpot, but you can take your leftovers home, and there's a sauce bar with side dishes as well. Overall, a great hotpot option with quick friendly service!

Yelp
My favorite place to go to. The good thing about this place is that you can choose as little as you want. Lets say you have to purchase a full plate of corn elsewhere when you just want 1 corn. This place put a corn on a skewer and only charge you based on the count of each skewer. I believe somewhat 38 cents each ( not too sure, but wont be over 50 cents). The herbal soup here is extremely tasty, at least to my liking. Love it so much, I asked for cups to take home the leftover broth. It gets crowded though, come early if you may.

Yelp
Very good choices with skewers and many items and trays you can choose yourself (see picture). The tomato broth is amazing as a soup base. There are a ton of sauces and choices to dip your proteins and veggies. There are a ton of appetizers and dessert items as well to complement your meal!

Yelp
If you're looking for an authentic hotpot experience, this is the place for you! "Nice 2 meet U" offers a wide selection of sauces, meats, and veggies, even those that may be a bit hard to find in other restaurants with similar themes. One unique attribute the restaurant offers is a dessert bar of sorts when you first enter. We sampled the sesame dessert (pictured) and LOVED it. Not overly sweet, soft, and just right. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area!

Yelp
I'm a big fan of hotpot already, and have had the opportunity to experience many different places. Nice 2 Meet U does the essentials right at a very reasonable price. I love their soup base. Having a half and half pot is definitely the way to go so you can switch between spicy and non spicy. We ordered the bone broth and spicy beef tallow soup base. It is the traditional Mala, or numbing spicy, but I enjoyed it a lot and did not think it was too spicy. Bone broth could use a bit more flavor but I'm not drinking the soup so it's alright. You'll have some options for specialty meats and cuts from the paper menu, and there are some solid choices here. We enjoyed the lamb shoulder and beef tongue. The real star would be the refrigerators lining the back of the store, where you can see and grab as much or as little as you like. I really appreciate the huge variety of options. Cilantro wrapped in tender beef and the pineapple version are both recommended, and you'll have to try the Spam, or as it's sometimes referred to, luncheon meat! There's a lot to love here, so give yourself some extra time and come hungry to try all the options! Service was on point and the meat was fresh!
