"Stop by Christa-Bells for excellent Guyanese takeout, specifically the delicious jerk chicken and salmon, macaroni and cheese, plantains, and curry goat. They usually have a special of the day, like oxtails, but everybody can find something here they like: there’s fried whiting and curry shrimp and vegetarian options like platters served with beans and rice and your choice of pumpkin, collards, or eggplant. Go before 11am, as they sometimes sell out." - maddy sweitzer lamme

Oxtails were delicious as far as flavor, but definitely not falling off the bone. Cabbage was bland, Yams tasted out the can, Mac n cheese was bland.

Google
I frequently stop by Nicely's to get my usual garlic shrimp and/or oxtail. Today I decided to try the curry goat with beans and rice and collard greens. When I say ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, I absolutely mean it! The owner and staff are very welcoming and friendly, and provide outstanding customer service. If you want a great dining experience, Nicely's Jamaican Kitchen is highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
I ordered the brown stew chicken, the taste was so bland. The sauce wasn't sweet or having any flavor. The sauce was super dark which is uncommon in brown stew. The customer service couldn't save the place either. I wouldn't recommend.

Google
Pretty dang good food here 🧆 If all else fails: Oxtail, collard greens, mac & cheese, and fried plantains 🍌 Oh and also guava juice, bc ya know... when in Rome 🏛️ Lovely ladies work here!! It's hard to find a spot to park 🚙but it's worth it all just to walk back with a box of joy 😊

Google
My family and I were on vacation and found this lovely Jamaican restaurant, Nicely's Jamaican Kitchen. Firstly, the service was top-notch. My family and I felt welcomed as we entered the restaurant doors. We then ordered a serving of curried goat, while snacking on a St. Mary's banana chips. We ordered some jerk chicken as well. Oh! We couldn't pass up the freshly baked, 'coco bread.' They had a wide array of refreshments to choose from. The prices were quite affordable. All in all Nicely's Jamaican restaurant is an ideal stop while you are in the Wilmington area.

Google
Had a mini platter (jerk chicken, collards, rice and beans) and a side of plantains doused with a healthy amount of Eaton’s scotch bonnet sauce and it was exactly the comfort food I needed. Melt in your mouth good and super affordable prices. Only a few tables for dining in as they seem to mostly cater to take-out orders - nothing fancy, but it’s clean with a good atmosphere.

Google
100% would eat again! Oxtail, rice & beans, and collard greens were so good. Super quick service and portions were large. The soursop juice was also delicious.

Yelp
I enjoyed my short time at Nicely's. I was there for a quick and affordable lunch special. I ordered rice and peas w/ox tail gravy, plantains, and cabbage. I'm trying to refrain from meat this month but I couldn't resist the gravy. I also order a hot and delicious coco-bread without the patties. The service was fast and convenient and paperless. You can definitely grab a bite to eat on your lunch break and not spend hours waiting for your food.

Yelp
Food was average at best. No real jerk taste. Cabbage wasn't completely cooked and the rice lacked flavor. Service was good. Price is right but the deal wasn't for real.

Yelp
I went to Nicely's for the first time on 8/17/24 around 7:30pm. I drove 30 minutes from Elkton Maryland to Wilmington Delaware. I ordered a large curry goat with rice/beans and cabbage. I also ordered a large oxtails with mac & cheese and rice/beans. The food was excellent. Perfectly seasoned and nice portions. I have no complaints. I highly recommend Nicely's and I will be back soon. Thank you!

Yelp
The food here is amazing. I order from them at least 2-3 times a month. The jerk chicken is very good, and the plantains are great.

Yelp
Customer service could use some work, to be honest. Also, in a somewhat "sketchy" neighborhood-- did not feel very comfortable. But the food was tasty, and decently priced. To summarize... Did I enjoy my meal (shared ox tail, jerk chicken, and rice and peas with my husband and children) -- yes. The food was pretty good. Was it good enough for me to return to or recommend? No. Simply because of the lack of customer service, as well as feeling on edge in that part of town. (We drove nearly 20 minutes from our hotel to check it out.) Again, this is just my personal experience. Wish I'd seen a more candid review, especially regarding location, before I went there.

Yelp
Found Nicely on yelp and gave them a try. I'm glad I did Because I have been wanted Jamaican food for a while. And I came from NJ to get it. The Oxtails, rice & peas with cabbage was very good. I can't wait until the next time. The place was nice and clean. Fast service.

Yelp
So every town my husband and I go to, we locate a Jamaican restaurant to eat it-he's Jamaican. We found this place not too far from our airbnb. This was one of the worse chicken patties we've ate. There was barely any meat inside. My husband wanted a beef patty but the lady said they were "crispy" aka dried. The crust lacked color-turmeric! I had oxtail with traditional sides. My husband has curry goat with traditional sides. Both meats were tender but lacked any level of spice aka heat. No scotch bonnet taste.

Yelp
Had the escovitch snapper with cabbage...delicious!!! I also had the plantains, greens and coco bread on a separate day, also VERY GOOD. Definitely will return!

Yelp
This restaurant was very nice and conveniently located near market Street. The food was definitely flavorful with a lot of variety, and very fairly priced, especially in this economy. There was a large selection of juices and sodas, ranging from American to Jamaican drinks. Each combo comes with two sides, and the servings were very well portioned. My favorite was the plantains. I got the lamb curry as well, highly recommend! The service was very fast as well.

Yelp
The food here was not delicious. I order two oxtail platter, one large and medium. I received my order with no rice and blend yams that taste like it fresh from a can. Customer service was horrible. This restaurant is big no and because the prices they charge but are selling hospital quality taste, and food

Yelp
This is a great find for me right in the city. It's about 10 minutes from north Wilmington and there's parking on the side street around the corner. The restaurant is small and very clean. The one lady that was helping me was working her tail off but very courteous and efficient at her job. I got there right before 4 PM so was able to take advantage of the lunch menu. The lunch portions were plentiful and have a great price. We purchased the jerk chicken and the stewed chicken. I'll update this post when I go back again because it was that good. They gave us an option to have spicy or mild jerk which is good because everyone can't take the heat. If you're downtown and in the mood for Jamaican I highly recommend this place. The hours are great. The staff is friendly. The location is convenient. And the food will keep you coming back for more. Remember, try to get there before four for the best deal!

Yelp
First time trying Nicely's this week.... Well worth the walk from where I work on King St. I got takeout and brought it back to the office for myself and some people from the office. We got Jerk Chicken with rice and beans and cabbage and got a couple meat pies to try. A large size jerk chicken ($12) was way more than I should have ever eaten. Well worth the price and the walk. Super tender chicken, nice char, and the seasoning/sauce was spot on. They have three spice levels (Mild, Spicy, and Extra-Spicy). If you like spice get it extra spicy (we got spicy and it could have used some more heat). The meat pies ($2.50) were very good as well. Great food. I will be going back soon.

Yelp
If you like curried goat, oxtails, and jerk chicken, you'd want to come to this downtown Wilmington establishment. While that jerk chicken is super popular (just about everyone in line orders that), it's a little too saucy for my own tastes but the char-grilled flavor is spot on. You will ALWAYS find me ordering the awesome curried goat or oxtail platters. At $14 and $16 respectively for the medium size, sure it's not a dirt cheap lunch but good quality food takes time. And you can tell they put some time into their cooking because that meat is perfectly tender. The platters come with sides like rice and veggies or you can do mac and cheese instead. They also do curried and stewed chicken, fried fish as well as specials every week such as fried chicken on Wednesdays, which the owners told me I've been missing out on (!). Be sure to also get their patties; they are delicious pockets of curried beef or chicken stuffed in a perfect pastry. I go for the curried beef patty every time. A couple of those make for a nice breakfast or afternoon snack. Go get some good food!

Yelp
Been going since it had another owner. Food is always fantastic! Recommend curry chicken, goat and oxtails. Rice and peas w/ cabbage is always hittin'...

Yelp
I wanted some Jamaican Food to get away from the hospital's lovely cuisine. I did not have a hard time finding the place, just parking is awkward. I parked on the street. Very quaint and clean corner restaurant. Customer service was not bad as the ladies we're working hard to fill orders. I ordered a Large Jerk with Macaroni & Cheese and Peas with Rice. I will say the food is flavorful and you get a very nice portion for your money. I would definitely go here again as it was "Nicely" Done!

Jenny W.

Yelp
Food is pretty solid here. Would definitely go back to try the other items on the menu

Yelp
OMG!! The food we had was delicious!! We were in town, staying at nearby hotel and found this restaurant on Yelp. Was not sure what to expect..We picked up our food and inside the restaurant was very clean! This is a big deal for me...The staff was professional. We had the curried chicken, curried shrimp and fried red snapper w/rice n beans. Again, OMG!! It was tasty and very filling. This Jamaican is definitely recommending! :-)

Yelp
When you walk up the very steep stairs you're greeted by a very clean and aromatic restaurant with servers behind the counter who seem to serve and know the locals well. This makes sense as the food I had was phenomenal. They were out of oxtail so I went with the jerk chicken and beef patty. I was not disappointed at all. I happened to be with my West Indian sister who ordered, it was amazing seeing her and the wait staff talking as if they already knew one another. Sometimes you find the service to be poor in restaurants like this even when the food is amazing (rude staff, ridiculous wait times etc). This was not the case. Order ahead and enjoy!

Yelp
Great food decent price point jerk shrimp was worth the wait jerk chicken always good and beef Pattie's are fresh

Yelp
So we were driving through Wilmington and were looking for lunch, and my wife stumbled across the reviews and we were wondering was the Jamaican food actually that good? And my personal verdict is absolutely! Now this isn't a formal place; although the workers are friendly and the atmosphere perfectly authentic, it's an authentic styrofoam dine-in experience. You'll check out the menu and between bopping your head to the dancehall background, choose from the menu items and, if you prefer to dine in, just have a seat with your takeout containers and have at it. I had a medium jerk chicken platter, with rice and beans and a side of yams. Everything was delicious; the jerk chicken had a perfect texture and taste, and the rice and beans were very authentic. My wife had the brown stew with rice and beans and a side of cabbage, all of which were excellent! If we're in the area, we will definitely stop by again!

Yelp
I love Nicely's. The food is always seasoned well and the portions are a good size. The girl behind the counter is always nice when I go in there. The man (I'm assuming is the owner) is nice too. I ride pass 2 different Jamaican restaurants which shows you that I like Nicely's way better.

Yelp
The lunch special and mini platter are a great value. Service is quick and polite. There's a great selection of bottle Jamaican beverages. My go to is the curried chicken, with rice and beans and cabbage. The container looks small, but trust me, you'll be full...

Setchie C.

Yelp
This is the best curry shrimp I ever had. The sauce was very flavorful and just enough spice (I got mine spicy). The shrimp was cooked perfectly. The service was great as well. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I ordered the food on my way down from New Jersey. The food was ready, it was hot and it was delicious. The food was packed good, there was no mess. I would recommend!

Yelp
Nicely's Jamaican Kitchen has the best Jerk Chicken by far! I have tried many Jamaican restaurants up and down the east coast, and nothing comes close to their recipe! Flavor, spice, texture, you name it and it surpasses the others. Even the plantains are superior! Moist and melt in your mouth. Rice and beans are moist, and they go great with the spicy jerk sauce! I try to make my way there at least once a week! Cannot wait to eat their food again!

Jamilla P.

Yelp
Nicely's Jamaican food is soooo good! This is always my first choice for Jamaican food. The young lady behind the counter is always friendly, nice and welcoming. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Just really good food!!!!!!! Highly recommended. Jerk chicken is seasoned so well perfect amount of spice. (I got mild) also love the cabbage. Mac and cheese was good..I can't wait to try the plantains Also easy to find this location!

Yelp
The quality of service and food makes this establishment the best Jamaican restaurant in Delaware and probably in the Mid-Atlantic Region (including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland). Their best dishes are the Jerk Chicken and the cabbage - these entrees compared favorably with anything I've tasted during my February trip to Jamaica (Montego Bay, Runaway Bay, and Discovery Bay). None of the jerk chicken I tasted (even at Sharkies Restaurant) was superior to Nicely's. I usually visit once every 2 weeks despite this being located 20 miles out of my way. Whenever I get a visitor from out of town, I usually take them to Nicely's on day 1 or 2 of their visit!!

Yelp
My coworkers and I absolutely LOVE this restaurant ! We drive during our lunch breaks here just to taste anything on their menu. If we could have everyday, WE WOULD! BLK love it here and we wont try any other Caribbean place. Thank you for the great food and amazing hospitality as soon as we step foot in the door. PAB ~
