Super fast service! Really delicious lamb beef gyro. Really good value since they include a lot of meat in the gyro. Restaurant is nice and clean. Free WiFi is always great

We come here monthly for a Greek dinner (take out). It is pretty good Greek food and costs less than the other Mediterranean places (a lot less). If yiu can park, it is certainly worth a visit and a Greek treat.

Google
This is new place is absolutely treasure for me! We had a bowl with lamb and beef, fries and a wrap, closely like falafel, but they tasted even better, not quite sure how does it work, but as not familiar with Greek food and 1st time trying, it’s worth my money and time, the fries like In N outs’ with a bit seasoning on it. Highly recommend for a wrap smaller portion and a bowl for full meal, both won’t turn me down.

This place is pretty great. Pretty good price and portions and the food is much better than I expected. Awesome customer service as well. Ordered Mediterranean Bowl with steak souvlaki. Recommended!

Google
Good gyros. My favorite is the beef and lamb gyro. Ground meat kebab can be a bit hit or miss, but the texture isn't too fine, and the meat isn't sliced too thinly, which I like. The prices for all the gyros is the same, which is a little odd to me and makes the falafel feel like a bad deal, it's still good.

This is my go to place and one of the best Baklava I ever had in Berkeley! Loved it! ☺️ The place has very ambient environment.

I was here for the grand opening back in January (yes I'm late)- and it didn't disappoint. This is a franchise and this location is downtown Berkeley near campus so it's convenient for anyone working/living in the area. Here's the deets: PARKING: Street if you can find it but also close to all sorts of transportation (bus, BART, etc.) FOOD: I ordered the falafel bowl which came with basmati rice, cucumbers, lettuce, onions, tomato and tzatziki. I also ordered the Greek fries which came with garlic. Fries were crispy like I enjoy and nicely seasoned. All the ingredients in the bowl were fresh and tasty. SEATING: There's indoor seating (not a lot) but if you can snag a table- do so. Overall, fresh food and it's tasty. Check it out!

Google
I normally don't leave reviews, but as a food handler myself, I wanted to let the team know that last Thursday, I ordered a chicken bowl for delivery, and it came with completely raw chicken. Hoping this post helps with safety/quality checks.

Yelp
Excellent food for a great price point. Not many places with solid gyros left in the area, so I'll be coming back for sure. Doesn't disappoint.

Yelp
Friendly staff and delicious food! The menu is very extensive and there is something for everyone.

Yelp
So glad there is a Nick the Greek in Berkeley, come here all the time and is exactly what I want every time.

Yelp
Great chain, love the Redwood City NTG, but this location is not good. They are very stingy with the meat. Lady is not friendly. Got severe food poisoning. Beware, not a good choice for dinner.

Yelp
First I'd like to start by saying I was genuinely excited to get this food at first. I wanted good mediterranean food, and that's not what I got here. The flavor for everything was really off. Tasted more like a mex-tex seasoning instead. I got their advertised steak bowl, while my friend got a chicken one, and we shared a fries. The portion size for the fries was good, but everything else wasn't. The steak bowl itself had barely any pieces of steak in it, I felt compelled to ask for a refund because it felt borderline offensive. I paid 15+ for a STEAK bowl with only a couple pieces of steak ?? they're already a bar behind even Chipotle on this matter. Truthfully, the only thing my friend and I got close to finishing were the loaded fries, the only semi-close thing to being redeemable. The worker that attended us in front, this slightly older hispanic woman (and I mention this because the cook in the back asked her what's wrong in Spanish, after she looked annoyed over issuing the refund, but I could tell she didn't want to say anything in case I also spoke Spanish). Odd. The ambiance was quiet and semi clean. No customers were in there when we came but a few came after. It was a weird shop. Wouldn't come back here again. A redeeming quality was their spicy sauce and another one they had that I forgot the name of.

Yelp
This review is based on a pick up order for a catered lunch. We placed an order from Nick the Greek, it included: rice, pita bread, Greek salad, chicken, falafel, tzatziki sauce and Greek salad dressing. We placed an order to feed 18 people and the the servings were hearty. Everyone really enjoyed the food and we would definitely order from them again. For our order with tax and tip it cost $431.

Yelp
Came here after class. I ordered the Greek fries and they were honestly lack luster. The fries are cheep quality, and didn't seem to be fresh when I got them. I will say that the service was quick and the staff was nice. The Resturant had ample seating options since it was not busy. I'll have to try something else on the menu next time.

Yelp
Nice service , friendly , great atmosphere. Liked the pleasant relaxing place. Mediterranean Greek music playing in background. Overall a decent place.

Yelp
One of the monthly benefits AMEX Platinum card holders receive is a $15 Uber Eats credit. I was scrolling through the deals section in the Uber Eats app and found that Nick The Greek had a BOGO offer on their Gyro Bowl. Two bowls for only a few dollars after the $15 credit is applied is an absolute steal. After I placed my order, I was told my order would take between 30 - 40 minutes to fulfill. However, by the time I arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes later, the food was ready on the counter. The gyro bowl itself is fantastic. The slices of lamb/beef are tender, nicely seasoned, and you receive a very generous portion. I like the option to have the sauces on the side. The yogurt-based white sauce goes well with everything in the bowl, from the fresh lettuce greens to the yellow rice. Make sure you dig deep to the bottom of the bowl to get the rice, otherwise, you might mistaken your order for a salad bowl. Overall, Nick the Greek exceeded my expectations for something available on Uber Eats. Definitely would recommend taking advantage of this deal while its around.

Yelp
Great service and good portions of food!! Place is downtown and well located! The place is clean and well kept by the employees.

Yelp
Good food, great service, nice ambiance. I liked Nick the Greek and I would go again soon.

Yelp
Compared to the other locations in the Penninsula and Walnut Creek, this is the worst Nick the Greek I've been to. The three times I've gone they've screwed up our order, providing us the wrong items, having really soggy stale fries, over saucifying the bowls and giving us salads instead of rice bowls. I do love the concept and we are in desperate need for good Greek food in Berkeley, but I can't go back to this location for at least another 6 months.

Yelp
Nick the Greek is a solid chain. I really enjoy the gyro meat. The chicken souvlaki is fine, although not my favorite order. I do wish the fries were crispier. The place is somewhat big for a fast casual spot in downtown Berkeley and it's quick. The bowls don't come with pita, FYI! I do appreciate they let you customize the bowls - if you don't want rice, you can sub salad or fries. The produce with the salad wasn't the freshest, but it's winter, I get it... finding ripe tomatoes anywhere can be hard. Overall, a solid spot for somewhat cheapish eats.

Margo R.

Yelp
I was so hungry after a long study day and the falafel gyro was just perfect! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Stopped in for a bite to eat. Not an impressive place when you walk in- but the food and service were great! Ordered the gyro bowl and hummus with pita. Wow! A lot of food! Hummus was creamy with a little zest. The gyro bowl was huge! Ingredients were very fresh.

Haleta A.

Yelp
Quick and tasty Greek food in Berkeley. Great for takeout, some space for sit-down. Restrooms are out past the rear exit

Ella A.

Yelp
Get the Greek fries every time and they're always great! Also enjoy their salads. Highly recommend. Staff are helpful as well and food generally comes out quickly.

Sophia D.

Yelp
Great food and timely service!! Gyros and Mediterranean bowl were delicious! Not the cleanest building but food was yummy

Christopher H.

Yelp
Best Greek Yogurt in Berkeley. It feels so fresh and light.and the steak bowl is amazing too

Yelp
¡Muchas gracias por la comida increíble! Rápida y buen sabor cada vez. Me gusta visitar después de la escuela.

Nimbus R.

Yelp
Food is flavorful and interior is well-lit. Fries are amazing! Also love the portion size of baklava. Note for new customers: restrooms are located past the rear doors.

Yelp

Alan R.

Yelp
Great beginning food, humus, salad bowl was really good and healthy. Lots of choices for everyone.

Janie S.

Yelp
First time here, couldn't decide what I wanted but the gal at the counter gave me a few options and I picked the Chicken Gyro Pita and it was delicious. I'll be back to try a bowl next time. Great customer service!

Yelp
Even though I was hungry looking for a quick bite to eat nearby, I was delighted to find and discover this spot near the UC Berkeley campus. Good ingredients and I highly recommend the greek fries. I got the chicken souvlaki pita bread ($12.50) and added the combo for $4.50 of greek fries (topped with grated cheese, fresh garlic, scallions, dill) and fountain drink. Definitely hit the spot and the pita bread had a nice fluffy bounce and chew to it.
google avatar

Mariam S.

Yelp
The food here was so disappointing super old, dry, and flavorless. As a middle eastern this literally felt like disrespect to my culture bruh how do you mess up pita bread. $17 for a Mediterranean bowl to have 4 pieces of steak. You could tell the chickpeas were double fired because they were old literally no flavor and cold. The gyro salad just tasted so sad the chicken was dry and chewy all I could taste was the balsamic vinegar. I hate wasting food and will deal with food tasting mid but damn this was bad enough it was more worth it to throw away.

Krishan K.

Yelp
Waiting at the front of the line for 30 minutes+ and not a single person comes to take my order. 2 cooks, 1 service member walking around talking to the cooks, and labeling mobile orders. Extremely inefficient. Left without getting anything, along with many others in the store just waiting to order.

Yelp
Grand Opening on Tuesday, January 23! I love Nick the Greek in Walnut Creek, but now I don't have to go as far to get my fix. They have a bunch of different options depending how hungry you are from gyros and bowls to plates and sides. I ordered their souvlaki plate (skewered pork) over fries with a side salad, pita bread, sauce, and veggies. I love my food seasoned and they definitely do it right. Everything was flavorful and a hearty portion for the price. They have a moderate amount of seating (around 6 tables for 4 and 4 smaller tables for 2) but you'd probably be better off ordering to-go and finding somewhere nearby to eat. They only have one cashier so be patient with them as they figure things out. Staff was super friendly and they even gave out samples of froyo. I will be back :D

Yelp
I was skeptical at first because I know this place is a chain, but wow!!! I hope the quality (and quantity) here continues to stay consistent given that they have just opened. I placed an order online. They were running a bit behind and my order wasn't ready, but I didn't mind the wait. (I was entranced with watching them make the froyo w/ baklava...gonna need to get that next time...) I ordered the beef/lamb gyro pita. The meat portion size seemed just alright at first, but there was way more than meets the eye. I ended up barely being able to finish the pita. It was PACKED with meat. In fact, it was probably 90% meat and 10% vegetables, so it got really salty at the end. I think I'll pay extra to add lettuce and cucumber next time. It needs more fresh vegetables to cut the amount of meat. Overall, a great experience! Hope they keep it up. I'll be returning to try the bowls and dessert.

Caleigh D.

Yelp
Nick's fries were super yummy! Will come back for sure. My favorite place T

Claire L.

Yelp
I walked in and saw that an employee was being taught by another employee how to prepare a certain dish. As they continued to work in front of me at the counter they did not even welcome me in or acknowledge my presence. All you have to say is "Hi welcome in, I will be with you in one moment."

Kiara A.

Yelp
Great service. Great portion size. Clean nice spot in the heart of downtown berkeley.

Aditya B.

Yelp
Amazing food and very kind/helpful staff! Also in a great location - very close to BART and Berkeley campus. Definitely will continue to come back!

Jack R.

Yelp
Definitely recommend the Mediterranean bowl!! Super tasty tzatziki. It's like a flavor explosion

Parsa F.

Yelp
Great food and nice ambience. I went there with my gf and had a fun time studying and going through their menu options

Yelp
Experience is based on take out orders exclusively. I've ordered here a couple of times. The service was always quick and friendly. Orders were ready before quoted times. Food was hot and orders were accurate. Food itself was decent quantity for value. Everything was tasty except the tsaziki sauce is a little more sour than I prefer. The location is large but there's not a lot of parking. Very difficult to stop in for pickup. Overall a decent experience and willing to come back

Claire Y.

Yelp
I love the gyro bowl from here, really convenient to pick up between classes. Service is fast and kind as well.

Yelp
Nick the Greek delivers on what you would expect from this group of Greek Restaurants - good food, tasty salads and fast service! Updated to 5-Stars - quick on the thumbs

Kavya R.

Yelp

Brandon O.

Yelp
I got the kids plate. The fries were amazing, bread was crisp, and chicken was fresh.

Liam M.

Yelp
The food was really good I got the kids gyro and for the price it is amazing portions. I hope to back soon and try other things.

Nikki N.

Yelp
They really have the Best Mediterranean/gyro bowls in the east bay with great portion size
google avatar

Frances M.

Yelp
Their frozen Greek yogurt (Froyo) is delicious. Just enough tang to make you come back. You can also order the baklava with it.

Tom C.

Yelp
I used to be able to get my favourite dinner here, I'd get the chicken gyro and fries with extra sides of their mustard sauce. Now all I can order is the chicken souvlaki pita which I don't enjoy because I just taste charred chicken, and you can no longer order extra mustard sauce. I hope these things come back, but I'll hold off on ordering from here again until they do.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Came here after visiting the museum. The place was clean. The service was amazing. Definitely will tell my family and friends. Great location

Anna T.

Yelp
The food was fine but I needed a receipt for the order I placed online a few days ago (reimbursement purposes) so I called, the person on the phone didn't understand what I was asking for (which is whatever) and they said they would go get their manager, but they hung up immediately, and then ignored the rest of my multiple calls to the restaurant. Thankfully I was able to find the receipt in my google chrome history.

Yelp
I got the beef n lamb gyro it was really tasty! Right amount of meat, sauce, flavor etc. I got it to go and the clerk was friendly. Eager to try more of their food.
