My favorite spot in the city, as great as it ever was. I had it the other day but had the pleasure of bringing my 2 y.o daughter to share the experience. The 2 ladies behind the counter had us in and out but had us all sharing laughs & a good time. Thank you for having us, the great service and great food. We both loved it!

I am visiting friends and emptying my storage unit this weekend in Fall River, MA. After leaving the north end of the city, I saw the Nick's sign, and I all of a sudden got hungry. We bought the Buy 5 get 1 free for $10.16. It was 30 minutes to closing, but the dogs were still fresh. Look at my photo and tell me if you would stop after drinks fluids for 2 days, heatwave in July.

Google
Use to be great.. going down fast. Order chorice fries got only fries. Hot dogs had a small line of mustard and sauce. You lose business from lack of consistency and people who don't care what they put out on the world. Super disappointed and dissatisfied, for being a fall river staple you all need to kick it back up to where it once was or shut your doors for good.

The food here was absolutely awesome and the service was just as great. Really enjoyed stopping by this place.

Google
My cheese fries were good, and the woman at the counter was prompt and friendly. The inside is cozy and a little old school. There's a few 2-person booths, and also some old wooden school desks with the chairs attached, which I think brings some quirkiness and nostalgia. People seemed to order the hot dogs and cheeseburgers a lot. I don't eat beef, but they looked good, were ready within a few minutes, and were affordable so I can see why. The only downfall was having to feed the new meter, but it was easy enough, and I'd say worth the 50cents.

I placed my order on the 8th and the shipping label wasn’t created til the 20th…that’s a 12 day handling time?!? I received a return call on 6/14 and was told very apologetically that they would be shipping it out ASAP but that didn’t even happen for another 6 days after that call! I was understanding about people being on vacation but to be hung up on today & then to call back & have the employee tell me that the owner told her “to hang up” on me is completely ridiculous!!! I come from 20+ years of restaurant experience and have NEVER been treated with such unwarranted disrespect. Just so you know & not that anyone cares but I was told about your amazing sauce by a dear friend who knew the original owners daughter. She told us the story of the family & the sauce & how she cherished those memories from her childhood through her young adulthood so I thought it would be a nice surprise to order your sauce for her since she’s now a snow bird living her best life on the sandy beaches of Florida but I assure you now that whenever my order arrives I will be returning it. Clearly the values that made the company what it was are now just memories in the past.

Google
People here very low IQ. They have not gotten one order right and food quality is poor. Will never order from here again

Google
One of the employees girlfriends has a spam.account about a mustang and keeps leaving false reviews on other business pages while trolling them Online fraudulently . Absolutely unprofessional on top of having garbage food. The dust in this place hasnt been cleaned since the 90s and is always trashy outside.

Yelp
The best hot dogs on the planet, period. I have had Chicago dogs, Coney Island dogs and every kind if street dig from NYC to LA and Cancun (I know you're thinking wha, Cancun? Seriously the street vendor dogs in Cancun are sizzling hot with a kind of mayo, they're legit!) But I say Olneyville you must bow down to the true king of dogs at Nick's, BOOM! My sweetheart has been coming here since the 60's with her bestie who she went to an all-girls Catholic school for 12 years and then for 4 more years at Providence College, they are still very tight AND her bestie's folks founded and ran Nick's for over 5 decades. I have been a devoted regular and raised my kids on a steady diet of Nick's for over 35 years so I am a true believer of the Nick's hot dogs. While the Pappas family operated this place there were just hot dogs, because that's what they did. Later years saw sodas and then chips and eventually the occasional stuffed quahogs but after Mrs. Pappas retired and new owners took over the menu has gradually and wildly expanded. But the hit dogs and the closely guarded hot dog sauce recipe have remained the big star. On my last visit I had a couple Coney Island hot dogs as appetizers before I had their fresh fish & chips with a special homemade Portuguese dipping sauce. Awesome! Bottom line: The best Coney island dogs around!

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Fine hot dogs, but don't really see what people get so excited about. Prices are reasonable. Honestly, my favorite hot dogs are off the grill on a 4th of July summer day, and at Fenway Park. But this will do in a pinch.

Jesse L. R.

Yelp
Nick's is still the best hot dog stand around. Consistently amazing hot dogs and their fries simply can't be beat! Staff are always friendly and know how to crank out orders fast!

Kristen B.

Yelp
Went there tonight on my way to work hoping to get an old fashioned hamburger with the works and hot cheese. What I got was a hot mess. The burger was strangely processed and disgusting. It wasn't the hot cheese that our city is famous for and was a total joke. Don't waste your time and money

Charles P.

Yelp
The ambiance... Coney Island hotdog stand right out of the 1960's. The two ladies behind the counter were friendly, apologetic, busy-bees churning out customers orders. The food was disappointing. My first bite... tasted strange to me, sour. I pushed on and finished two dogs, which I later regretted.

Jim C.

Yelp
Small place right in the center of Fall River. Got fish and chips, one dog and a coffee milk Service was relatively quick. Had a dog with sauce and mustard. Was very good and on par with Olneyville. Fish and chips are cooked in an upright fryolater on the counter. Fries were good but fish, while having an English type batter also had an orange tinge to the fish. Maybe a Portuguese spice? Coffin milk was delicious. Would probably not return for the fish but will for the dogs.

Allen R.

Yelp
Love the Fall River hot dog vendors. Two "all the way" for $4.17. Pretty good deal. Throw in some fries and a soft drink and you have a meal.

Robert B.

Yelp
Hot dog itself was okay. Even better was the fact that the price was so reasonable and the environment very old school. Nice, no nonsense staff. I've had signicantly better coney dogs but this place is the total package.

Hayden C.

Yelp
It's a hot dog spot that's open late, serves a good hot dog, it's cheap and quick. It's exactly what you want from a hotdog joint.

Dante H.

Yelp
One of the things I like to think about when I travel is what I can do in a certain area that I can't do anywhere else. Food, with it's typical propensity to go bad, is one such thing. Regional dishes like this are thus one of the things I'm on the search for when I'm in a new place. I saw some magazine article about cheese sauce, how it's kind of like cheese whiz but also like actual cheese and I decided to try it, sort of haphazardly deciding on this place. I got a hot dog and this cheese sandwich thing with onions. Both were pretty tasty, unfortunately I didn't try the chorizo (I know that's the wrong spelling) and I felt kind of our of place inside, but it was pretty tasty, the hotdog hit the spot, and the sandwich was kind of gooey and chewy with some spice from the onion mix thing, definitely something I wish I had available to eat as an undergrad.

Matt O.

Yelp
Been coming here since I was in a stroller and they have come a long was since the 80's. They have this terific expanded menu thst includes seafood, burgers, stuffed quahogs and lots more.I have never been a big hot dog person, that's my sister, so all these new choices makes Nick's one of my favorite places, especially for late night stops. I don't eat Hot Dogs & you couldn't pay me to do so. But Nick's I could do a dozen & don't even have to pay me. But wish someone could pay me to eat them. They are amazing. Especally their secret sauce. That I could eat out of jars all day. There's something about their Orange Soda that's unique I can't put my finger but it's to die for. It has a flavor that I haven't had in others. But that could have changed since last. They definately have their competitor up the street beat in the Hot Dog game but still love me some JJ's. But my rule of thumb on that is Nicks for Hot Dogs JJ's for Burgers ;) That's the way it has been for me since my childhood & will always be. Nicks Hot Dogs forever. Be sure to check out Nicks on Facebook & tell a friend. https://www.facebook.com/Nickshotdogs/

Yelp
The best place on planet earth. Coney Islands that transcend anything you've ever experienced before. Mix that in with taking your son to a local barber and grabbing a bite after, kid? Forget it.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
My favorite place to come for some Coney Island dogs, delicious fresh cut French Fries and a nice cold cup of coffee milk with a bubble on top! I always order mine with the works - hotdog, mustard, onion and sauce on a warm steamed bun. Yum, yum, yummy!! I only wish they served the hot melted white cheddar cheese like King Phillip lunch used to have, because that tasted great on top of those dogs!!!

Matt F.

Yelp
Never disappoints. I make the One hour pilgrimage two or three times per year. And if I'm ever driving past fall River I stop. I always order three with everything, mustard, Coney sauce and onions. I could easily eat six. This place has been here since 1920 so you know they know what they're doing. It's a tiny little place that makes delicious food. I've never tried anything else on the menu because I love the hotdog so much. Maybe my next pilgrimage I'll try something else. Thank you Nick's for making my life better.

Veronica M.

Yelp
I just love Nicks hot dogs. My favorites the fish an chips. Its delicious I get it every Friday They give you a big porsion. The price is right they give you sides like this red onion sauce for the fish ..its the Boe. Try it this week !!! I drive down on m my elect wheel chair and driveit home

Yelp
**This review is for the New Bedford location on Acushnet Ave.** This is a great little place! The wait staff were quite friendly and the interior is very clean and the food is fresh ! Especially the fish and chips! I got two big pieces of lightly breaded perfectly cooked fish. I also had to try one of the famous Cony hot dogs because it's a hotdog place after all. I enjoyed it, the buns were again, perfectly steamed but not wet at all, which can ruin things. Sry Gary you don't have the "BEST" hotdogs any longer. This will become a quick and reasonably priced lunch stop in the North end of New Beige! Seating is a bit limited with three 4 seat tables but a long counter facing the street with a decent amount of seats there.

Istvan T.

Yelp
We eat here every time we're up in little Compton. We come in for the wieners and they have real fries!!! Definitely get the fries and wieners... I like them all the way: that's mustard meat sauce onions and celery salt. Also they serve a Rhode Island favorite, coffee milk, in real cool mugs. This place caters to the earthy wiener eating cried but you see all types in here. The seating is very limited but I love to traipse in wth my children and wife and fill up the place and eat a ton of wieners. I once had a stuffie, stuffed quahog, here and it wasn't all that amazing. They have an extensive grill menu but get the wieners. Did I mention the wieners?

Mallory W.

Yelp
The people here are super nice! The place is small, and definitely old. The hotdogs aren't bad, and they have a good selection of different foods. The prices are unbeatable. I no longer eat meat but I came here a few times then I did. Cheap, good hot dogs! The fries are pretty good and are freshly cut right in front of you. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Alison A.

Yelp
Went there for the first time tonight was very happy with the atmosphere and the lady's there they answered my questions and the food was very good will go back there again my husband and his friends have had there hot dogs before and said there really good also

Alyssa C.

Yelp
The BESTTTT sauce, fresh fries, really good onion rings and perfectly chilled coffee milk. I literally cannot drive by this place without stopping in! The spicy sauce is my hubby's favorite which I love on the chili cheese fries. They have good soups too!

Marc M.

Yelp
I came to Nick's Coney Island Hot Dogs all the way from Connecticut. After spending a few hours in freezing weather wandering around the battleships of nearby Battleship Cove, the only thing on my mind was a hot dog with mustard at Nick's. And it didn't dissapoint. With mustard and chile in bountiful portions on top of the hot dog, you have a beautiful mixture of flavors hitting your tongue at the same time. It's definitely old school in Nick's and so much more enjoyable than a bland impersonal lunch at some fast food chain. If you like Portuguese sausages, you can get a chorizo at Nicks that is just fabulous. After polishing off your lunch, walk across the street to the Terminal Bakery and have an apple cake or Portugese sweet bread and your day is complete. By the way, a blissful hot dog at Nicks costs $1.26!

Sheri G.

Yelp
We went a little out of our way to hit up Nick's, my hubby loves hot dogs. I ran in and ordered as our final destination was further north. The first girl didn't acknowledge me until she was ready to take my order, fine she was making someone else order but she could have said I will be right with you, but maybe she was having a bad day! So when our order was ready the second girl very nicely said your order is ready and handed me the bag. The coney sauce was tasty but the hot dogs were very small, and the cheese on the cheese dog was very minimal. They weren't bad for the price I think I paid $10.??, but I guess I just expected more from a place called Nick's Hot Dogs!!

Will C.

Yelp
$20 fed 8 of us! Can't beat that anywhere. I come here regularly and usually choose them over JJ's because they accept credit/debit cards which makes it a convenience. Never had a bad tasting dog and the chili cheese dogs are my favs.

Sky D.

Yelp
Listen, I would die for Nick's Hotdogs. I eat at Nick's Jr so often I should buy stocks in that company. I traveled to the big daddy location, Nick's Coney Island Hotdogs, and would like to die for this branch as well. THE HOTDOGS ARE AMAZING, as expected. The environment, like the customers and seating, was also exactly as expected, 5 stars. I know it's 8 at night and Fall River but the staff needs to AT LEAST say hello when customers walk in. I want to feel welcome as I'm inhaling your hotdogs, not like I'm bothering you. I'll be back and if Mallory says hello when I walk in I'll give her a $10 tip and a 5 Star review.

Sherri F.

Yelp
The best hot dogs and fries. Just wish they stayed open like they used to. Midnight dogs were the best

Taylor M.

Yelp
Thinking about Fast Food? Fahget about it! This family owned, local restaurant seems to be Fall River's best kept secret. The delicious smell of local cuisine hits your nose as soon as you walk through the door. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a retro hot dog shop because it is one! Since at least 1920 Nick's Coney Island Hot Dog has been at this location. Why go to a processed fast food joint when you can go to a healthy fast food establishment? The chili cheese dog was absolutely phenomenal and I plan to return to try the rest of the menu including Portuguese favorites like cacoila! If you're in Fall River, check out Nick's! You won't be disappointed! Thank you Tammy!

Tim L.

Yelp
I don't always eat Coney Island hot dogs, but when I do, I go to nicks in Fall River. Buy 5 dogs get one free. Pound em in the park. Call it a day.

Alan L.

Yelp
This place has been here for years, like 90 years. I think it is the 3rd owner and let me tell you, this place has the BEST hot dogs. Come and get the works, special Coney Island sauce, it is out of this world. They also carry coffee milk, something that is special in this area. I know we can't get this in Haverhill!

Amuse B.

Yelp
The wieners were just about the best ones I've ever had. And watching them cut the fries right in front of me gave me that "I chose the right side of the street for wieners" feeling. Unfortunately, we also ordered two cheeseburgers, fresh from the.... MICROWAVE. Even worse, they were raw on the inside. I ate about three bites before throwing in the towel. With that said, the dogs were great so I'd still come back for wieners and fries.

Cassie C.

Yelp
Put the wrong toppings on my take out order and gave me a horrible attitude when I brought them back as if it were my fault. I'll go across the street from now on

Brittany D.

Yelp
Usually Yelp is spot on with the number of stars a place has, but in this situation I don't agree. Hot dogs were mediocre at best, nothing I couldn't have made at home. The service was pretty good (saved them from losing another star). Very small establishment and limited seating too. 2 2-person tables and 6 desk like chairs for a single person. $5 minimum on debt/credit cards too.

Julie A.

Yelp
Nick's Coney Island HD's are pretty run of the mill wieners in a local dive joint. Their hot dogs all the way didn't really blow me away, but they weren't bad. Upon entering the place, the wood paneled walls were covered in years of grease and photos/memorabilia collected over the years. I ordered fish and chips, 4 wieners all the way, and a few small brand sodas. I was most impressed with their friendly prices and fast service.

Jeff M.

Yelp
The best NYS/Coney Isl wieners ever, not so much. But they were solid, hot and steamy, and indulgently good. Coupled with a quiet, but kind and incredibly patient server behind the counter; this is the perfect late night stop after a night on the town, as long as that town is Fall Riv.

Penny C.

Yelp
Many years ago like 50 my dad used to take all 8 kids to dirty Nick's for hot dogs it was called that because the cook used to line the dogs up his arm and put them together it was fasinating to watch I am sure they do it differently now after 50 years it am moving back home and will be going to dirty Nick's again

Marie B.

Yelp
Wicked good. Chourico and peppers were awesome and the kids loved their dogs. Cheap and delish.

Michelle G.

Yelp
Grew up in this area, I've been here quite a few times. No issues with service or price. Flavor of food threw me for a loop. Sauce was mild in flavor, almost flavorless. Fries, I do like the fresh cut, what I didn't like was the dirt/grit on my fries. You need to wash them before cutting and frying, I watched with my own eyes as this happened. The most disappointing was the stuffed quahog. Zero Portuguese flavor, more like you added a packet of taco seasoning to your mix. Im hoping this review with see some improvements as this is nostalgic to me and my family. You have been quite delish for years! We will give it another shot in a few weeks. Fingers crossed!

Eris I.

Yelp
Zero stars for the super hostile chick I seem to always run into behind the counter, even though she's not the only person who works there. 3 stars for the amazing cheese fries with or without chili. Nick's fries forever. They ask you what size you want and grab a corresponding number of real, fresh, Idaho potatoes, and ten minutes later, best late night post-partying fries available in this area- bar none. Pro tip: head to Nick's for the fries then meander across the street to JJ's for 6 w the works. Best.

Jason F.

Yelp
Have you ever really really craved something especially after looking at the Yelp reviews? Rarely has Yelp steered me wrong while looking up places to eat. Well, this time it did. I'm not sure if the people reviewed the wrong place or if their tongues had been removed but this place was awful. I really wanted to give this place a chance because of the great Yelp reviews and the coveted Yelp sticker on the window. I had high expectations walking into the place. I despised the fact that they used that cheap radioactive looking nacho cheese sauce for their hot dogs but I ordered anyway, without the cheese. The hot dogs clearly weren't all beef when I bit into it, perhaps I should have asked. Although the service was great and the prices are very cheap, the hot dogs were simply gas station dogs but there were no gas pumps around. The woman pulled beans out of the fridge and threw them into a microwave. I was expecting chili beans but these were simply pinto beans. Disgusting! I will say once again that the woman was very friendly and prompt. She made an effort to converse with the customers but I would never go back even if I was drunk and nothing was open for miles. I would rather go home on an empty stomach. The best part of the place was the bottled berry drink from the fridge. I ended up going someplace else for food afterwards. 2 stars for service alone.

Steven S.

Yelp
Good OL' "Nick's"! The BEST Authentic "Fall River Style" Steamed Hot Dogs In The City of Fall River!! You can get them with Mustard & Their Mild Coney Island Chili-Meat Sauce Or Get Them with The "Work's" (Mustard, Sauce & diced Onions). Or Whateva' work's for you. Order A Couple-I Guarantee You Can't just Eat One!Also Try Their ReaL Homemade French Fries! They're Great & Go Good As a "Side" with A Cold Orange-Cream Soda to wash them down.

Jordan N.

Yelp
Awesome Dogs! Love coming here when too lazy to cook. Also the Spicy Coney Island sauce is amazing, along with fries and a cup of coffee milk?! All under 10!!

Big M.

Yelp
Talk about gaggers stopped in for 2 with the works and coffeemilk. The coffeemilk was awesome the dogs however were gaggers the buns were steamed to the point that they were wet and soggy and the hotdog and sauce didn't help in flavor so I enjoyed the coffeemilk and the pigions hopefully enjoyed the dogs I should have stuck to the best Faneeks

Chris H.

Yelp
If you are looking for a coney dog, this is THE place to go! The hotdogs are fantastic, order them with "the works" - onions, mustard, coney island sauce and celery salt. It doesn't get any better! As far as their other food, I wouldn't know. I've only had the hot dogs.

Toby T.

Yelp
If you don't like Coney Island's hot dogs, your mother hates you

Nicole M.

Yelp
Cheap and delicious! We ordered our dogs with chili, cheese and onions. If you're expecting Texas chili, you will be disappointed. This is CONEY ISLAND chili folks. Embrace it. Love it!

Heather G.

Yelp
"Dirty nicks" I love this place. Been going here since I was a child, and now I bring my child! Best coney dog in the city in my opinion.

Paul P.

Yelp
Best Coney Island Hot Dogs PERIOD!!! It's a hole in the wall, & the area it not the safest but you should expect nothing less from a hot dog joint. There is a lot of history on the walls here and the inside has not changed since they have opened. My friend and I call these Hot Dogs gagga's, but call them what you want. They are so so good. Get them with the works. The dogs are small and you can eat 3 easily. This place is NOT for the healthy minded eater.

Food C.

Yelp
I don't know what I was thinking. The day I wrote that review I actually ended up going to Nick's and it was alright. Small hole in the wall with Ok hot dogs.

Devin A.

Yelp
Been going to Nick's since I was very young and I most say the Hot dogs are the best coney island dogs you can get anywhere in the southcoast their cheese dogs are delicious too not to mention the hand cut fries cooked to order. and lets not forget the many famous people who have eaten there like Lucille Ball, Jackie Gleason and the Three Stooges

mike s.

Yelp
As a child my late father brought me the Nick's! It was a tradition when we came to town to visit family. I have very fond memories of stuffing myself with 4 dogs and 2 for the road. Now its time to bring my kids, the 4th generation of us enjoying the best hot dogs on earth. Thanks for keeping it going! PS. when I was a kid a dog was .75 cents! I'm not that old?

Jeanne L.

Yelp
How I miss Nick's. In the 60's when I worked at the hospital I'd walk to Nick's for lunch. These are by far the best hot dog I know of. In later years I moved to Maine but when I'd visit relatives I'd go to Nick's because I missed the place I even got my daughter loving them and brought some home to her on one trip. Sounds like a visit to NIck's is in order on my next visit
