"Located at the tail end of Flatbush Avenue among the canals and hummocks of Marine Park, Nick's is a facsimile Maine lobster pound, of the kind where you can point to the lobster you want and they'll steam it for you and serve it with fries, slaw, and corn on the cob, with plenty of drawn butter. There’s a deck outside, too, for fine weather, giving views of Mill Basin across an arm of Jamaica Bay, where pleasure boats and even the occasional lobster boat passes by." - Eater Staff

"You might as well be in Maine the moment you step into Nick’s Lobster House, near the terminus of Flatbush Avenue on Mill Basin, with views of houses on stilts across the water from the outdoor deck. The New England clam chowder is damn near perfect — not too thick or thin — and plenty of minced chowder clams fight with potato cubes in the roiling, off-white expanse." - Robert Sietsema

This is a legit fresh seafood restaurant with a nice marina view, spacious interior, and good atmosphere. I have been here several times, and it's always a positive experience. The food is consistently on point, and the cocktails are quite good too. The portions are well-sized for an eater like me, you leave feeling full and happy. Being a seafood lover, this place is a go-to whenever I want fresh quality offerings from the ocean.

Let’s just start off by saying they were very professional at the front and got me seated in a timely manner especially as a walk-in, great seats with a view! Waiter well he was a little off beat never got me utensils napkins or even bread to go with my drink or nothing ! Even after my appetizer came to table. I had to ask a busboy cleaning tables around me for some napkins and utensils! I will say food was delicious but was a little upset about my “bowl” of lobster bisque. It literally only had two pieces of lobster in it and small pieces like the size of a quarter. Mind you I did upgrade from cup to bowl so I can have more meat! So let’s say I wasn’t to happy on that part but okay! Then the meal came out was awesome presentation and tasted great but guess what no waiter so again I had to ask another waiter to get me some butter! He did show up a lot near the end of meal! Overall great food!

My wife and I had such a nice dinner here on 7/23/22. Our waiter was friendly and the service all around was great. The oysters were fresh and delicious. They were also shucked very well. The steamed lobster was delicious. It arrived with the shell already cracked, you do not even need the nutcracker. Nick's did a great job renovating, the patio is right on Mill Basin with views of the large houses and docks across the way. It feels more like New England than Brooklyn. They also have a large parking lot. I highly recommend Nick's Lobster House.

Been coming here with my family for my mothers birthday for years. Love this place! The seafood is always fresh! The view is beautiful. The staff is great and nice! Always love coming and hope to come back soon! We had more, but this was some of the good food

First time here at Nick’s Lobster House and they definitely did not disappoint. The waitress, Alisha (not sure of the spring of her name) suggested we start with coconut shrimps with garlic butter mango sauce and a second appetizer, grilled octopus with red cabbage and it was very tasty! The staff is very welcoming. Dinner was about $ (2 appetizers, 2 entrées, drinks, dessert (red velvet cake))

The view is absolutely amazing and only outshined by the food. I had the oysters which were good! I also tried the lobster roll even as someone who’s not a big fan of lobster it was still good! My party also tried the salmon bites which weren’t as good as I thought it would be but still decent. My sister ordered the shrimp pasta which was a very large portion which could easily feed 2 people. My mom ordered the lobster tail and it was delicious as well. We came with an infant and they were very accommodating. So anyone coming with children know that there’ll be no hassle. Overall a good experience. I would return especially since they were not very packed and the food was good!

The lobsters had very sad eyes, but i can say, they tasted delicious. This was my first time having an entire lobster and OMG... I don't have the knowledge to describe fully all the sensations. Over all, A+ to food, service, atmosphere and overall experience. The place has a rich menu and the wait time is not bad. (The only downside is that without a car, i dont think one will be able to get here easily, no public transportation). Overall, this place is excellent for romantic date night or family gathering. Absolutely recommended.

Yelp
The food was so amazing best food I have ever tasted. The service was also great I loved my experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that I meet.

Yelp
THE OG BROOKLYN SEAFOOD RESTAURANT Nick's Lobster House is a family-owned company that is comprised of a restaurant including an outdoor deck, seafood market and waterfront event venue on the Mill Basin waterfront. They are etched into Brooklyn's rich food history since 1955. It actually is still owned by the family of "Big Nick", the local fisherman that decided to sell lobsters on Flatbush Ave over 60 years ago. Most recently, I came here for a family function and had a good ole time. The service was on point for our large group and so were the drinks. I started off with a glass of the famous "Hurricane Nick" then the table ended up with a quart based on my glowing review. Shoutout to the chef who made the most wonderfully creamy Alfredo that I have ordered at a restaurant in a long time. I also noticed that they offer a $32 Prix Fixe Lunch Menu now so I will definitely be back soon to try it out! I recommend that you stop on in when in the Kings Plaza/Mill Basin area. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Nick's Lobster is a fantastic spot for fresh, delicious seafood with an unbeatable waterfront view! The lobster was cooked perfectly, and the crab cakes were some of the best I've had. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a meal. The only downside was the slow service. It took quite a while to get our food, even though the restaurant wasn't too busy. Overall, a great place for seafood lovers -- just be prepared to take your time. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
A solid 3 stars reviews. Ambiance - 10/10 Food is 7/10 I had a white sauce paste tasted extremely bland and the clams had a lot of sand in it. The portion size was big but for the price it made sense. Skirt steak - ordered medium rare but came back as a medium . Flavor was there 7/10 Calamaris - 8/10 Calm chowder soup - 6/10 - very liquid and no clams, mild flavor. Octopus - 8/10 - the best of our meals Lobster tail - 8/10 - decent sizes Food took forever to come but it was fine since we were eating the appetizers . tips - Becareful when you spilt the bills amongst your friends. The % of the tips is based on the entire bill and not based on the spilt bill. You would have to do customized tips and calculate the tips based on the spilt bill.

Yelp
Another great year at Nick's for Valentine's Day. Service & menu was incredible. Thank you for keeping the chicken parm on the limited menu for my partner who hates seafood. I myself got a 2lb lobster. It was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. This is my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn. For a busy night where it's hard to give 5 star service, they knocked it out of the park.

Yelp
Always a pleasure dining here! View is amazing, perfect food, service always top notch.

Yelp
This is my second time coming here with the family. We always have a great time here. Great vibes and beautiful views. Our waiter Ricardo was super excellent. He was very attentive and super informative with the specials they had that day. There is a variety of food option to choose from. For those who are not seafood lovers they have steak and chicken options. Food is delicious here. Nick's Lobster House is a perfect place to celebrate birthdays, anniversary and date night. Outdoor seating is closed for the season, but the indoor has great views of the marina. You are able to watch the sunset. Drinks and food are both delicious. For starters we started out with the sweet chili Thai wings and fried calamari. The wings are really good. Just the right amount of spice and sweetness. The fried calamari is nice and crispy. Our main course we ordered Prime Ribeye Steak, NY Strip Steak, Lobster cream pasta with shrimp, chicken parmesan shrimp alfredo, Manhattan clam chowder and seafood broil special. For dessert we ordered the Tuxedo Bombe and Divine Chocolate Lava Cake. FYI if you share your experience on google, you get to enjoy a free dessert.

Yelp
Food- 3.5/5 Service- 4/5 Ambiance- 5/5 This was my first time and certainly not my last, eating at Nicks Lobster House. I had the lunch special which starts at $30 for 3 courses! The first option is a soup or salad, then an appetizer followed by an entree. Nice selection and tasty dishes to choose from. Ordered a Shirley temple which tasted delightful! Started with the chicken soup which had a nice thin angel hair noodle inside of it. Next time I'd get the salad. Then I had the wings which were cooked to PERFECTION! Nice size good flavor great preparedness! The calamari was ok. Lastly I had the chicken parm. Good flavor and tasty. 2 thumbs up and will def. return to try more things

Yelp
First time to be here and was invited for a dinner to celebrate a graduation. I used to lived in a nearby neighborhood for almost 10 years and kinda funny that I never got a chance to try out this place. We arrived a bit early and I got some Iced tea by the bar. Kinda disappointing that the Iced tea is watered down. Taste more of a syrup and no trace of tea anymore. The celebrant/host got us a really good set of food. The lobster tastes good, size are well suited as well and I would say fresh. We had this pasta as well and we all like it. The mussels are relatively small but taste good specially the sauce. I need to figure out that sauce's recipe. =D Overall, the place is good, ample parking, nice staff, bar is below standard (iced tea), the long table arrangement could very well be improved, and that's it.

Yelp
In a showdown between Nick's and Clemente's, two seafood restaurants near each other, serving almost identical menu items, offering similar experiences, who is better? Ambiance Both are right on the marina that empties into the Atlantic Ocean. Both are right near the Belt Parkway. Both have on site parking. This is pretty much a push. Edge: Push Service Clemente's carries a bit of a younger vibe, especially in its wait staff. Generally speaking I found the service younger there and older here at Nick's. The service here is slightly faster but also has a bit less people. Less does not always mean more, but they do a slightly better job moving food across the people. It was starting to get busy as the dinner rush rolled on, whereas Clemente's has a nonstop rush. Edge: Clemente's Food I ordered here the fish tacos and a shrimp scampi. While I ordered less here than I did at Clemente's, Nick's I feel does better justice for our nautical neighbors. The food tastes fresher, the respect is higher, and less of a push out. Clemente's threw it in front of me and hoped for the best. Edge: Nick's but slightly Overall What really makes one better than the other is really up to you. If you want a bit of a party and livelier feel, Clemente's has that. For a more quieter, more family friendly vibe, you go with Nick's. In the end, it is all a matter of preference because the food items are identical in many ways. It just depends on how you want it done and what you want out of it.

Yelp
Just go... This has been a staple in my life for like 30 years.... The spot gets bigger and bigger (expansion) and the food options get better and better. Fresh seafood; great service; and fabulous views on the water. You really can't go wrong. Get the Lobster Cream pasta

Helen H.

Yelp
Greek salad was good but a small order. Fish taco was awesome and the east cost oysters were huge except 2 of them. The snow crabs were disappointing for $50. The atmosphere was awesome facing the sea. I would return just for oysters. You get a 5% discount with cash so that was nice. Overall the service was great.

Kerry L.

Yelp
Came for the lunch, stayed for the views..service was good, food was good. Drink was excellent. Everything was clean, not to crowded around 3:40pm on a Monday afternoon. So glad I was seated by the water amazing view despite the dirty new york water..seen a family of ducks , water skiers. It was a nice lunch

Cheryl M.

Yelp
I've been here several times but I only ordered clams. I decided to eat in this time and glad I did. I didn't make reservations so I had a 20 minute wait, no problem. It's a fairly large establishment with outside tables but we ate inside. We ordered grilled octopus, mussels, New England Clam Chowder, Grilled Chicken Salad and Lobster Tail. Everything was really good. Although the octopus was very tasty, I felt the portion was very skimpy and not worth the price . I wish I had taken pictures. I would definitely return again but will not order grilled octopus.

Duane H.

Yelp
Not sure if ownership has changed but there is definitely something different about the atmosphere. Ambiance remains the same, the staff seem more personable than I remember. Service was great, my waitress was delightful. Food needs some seasoning in my opinion but is prepared ok. The batter on the fried shrimp was a little stiff. When you dipped it in the tartar sauce if fell off from the actual shrimp. Decent experience, will try again. Oh and there is onsite parking.

Justice S.

Yelp
Came here for lunch, and we we not disappointed. The $30 pri fixe menu was well worth the price. The service was on point as well.

Yelp
04/06/23: It's been years since I've been to Nicks. On a recent trip to Kings Plaza needed a spot to fill hungry bellies. They must have renovated I don't remember it being as large and various seating arrangements. Greeted graciously upon entering and was seated within minutes. Drinks Frozen Margarita with hibiscus syrup: wasn't to my liking the flavor didn't work for me. Megroni: my friend enjoyed Appetizers Grilled Octopus: great flavor, consistency just right. New England clam chowder: creamy, potatoes, well balanced also enjoyed Clams Oreganta: just ok for me needed a bit more flavor to make it pop. However, there was sauce that increased the flavor. Additionally..don't judge..we added cocktail sauce. It definitely elevated the taste. Shrimp Cocktail: firm, fresh and tasty with the cocktail sauce. Mains Branzino: wasn't expecting entire fish but afterwards our server stated I could have asked for it to be fillet. For me needed a little bit more spice and I felt it could have been cooked a little longer. However I added some of the sauce from my friends Halibut and taste definitely went up a few notches hence I asked for some on the side. Accompanied veggies and potatoes had a nice flavor. Halibut: well seasoned, flaky not fishy as other places. The sauce delicious. Lastly we had a complimentary sample of Guinness cheesecake yes you heard correctly. It was tasty had a chocolate taste , but not being a chocolate fan wasted on me but my friend enjoyed and I think chocolate lovers would appreciate that unique twist on a cheesecake. With our seating overlooking the water, Alejandro our amazing server, good evening had by all! To top it all off it is listed on seated so earning cash back always a winner. Download Seated App code michelle1454.. you're welcome. NOTE: They charge a transaction fee. Not a fan of than, but seems to be the trend lately!

Yelp
stay away from this one...Clementes seafood better choice. We went here for veterans day service was friendly but BAD..she was just a bad waitress...stale bread ..fat and bone on filet minion and desert was allegedly lava cake but was just stale dry chocolate cake and coffee never arrived....complained to manager they said they would take something off the check instead they charged us for tip even though my husband already tipped her so the bad waitress got a 36% tip wish i could give a negative star i would. shame on you

Leore K.

Yelp
The food was so delicious and flavorful. Our favorite was the seafood linguine. The stuffing was amazing. Was disappointed with the lobster roll because it was dry. The sushi was fresh and so good. beautiful ambience we were able to sit looking at the marina and watching the sunset was very romantic. Great service everyone is so friendly.

Amanda D.

Yelp
I would always pass by this place growing up and i finally got a chance to visit. We came on a relatively sunny day and got seated by the window which was amazing -- the view was great. We started with the calamari and then got the jerk salmon bites and these rib tips. The calamari was super crispy and fried to perfection. The salmon was slightly over cooked and was advertised as a jerk salmon but was more on the sweeter side, so it's safe for those who may not like spicy. The rib tips were by far my FAVORITE -- sooo good and so tender. The meat literally melted in my mouth and the sauce was v tangy. We also got the garlic shrimp appetizer and that was also a fave for me. The shrimp was annoying to peel but the garlic butter was seasoned so well. If you're a garlic girl, you'll love this dish and if not then beware bc you're likely to have garlic breath. For entrees, we got to try the lobster roll. Lobster rolls are never really my go-to because i've always been let down but this one was packed with flavor and the lobster was nice and tender. This dish was on the smaller side so the roll was gone in a few bites. We also got this fish dish which i think was a sea bass? It was probably the lease favorite of all the dishes as the fish itself lacked flavor. Drinks and service were also 10/10. I'll def be back once It gets warmer for outdoor seating!

Izabella B.

Yelp
We've been here for a couple of times already, service is always great, food is fantastic. It is pricey, but i think it worth every penny - you can't get FRESH seafood at low price.

Dmitry L.

Yelp
Generally the food is good, a little on the pricey side, but you expect that. This salad though is inexcusable. I've had better from supermarkets in a bag. And it didn't even come with any dressing. $16 wasted

Arlet M.

Yelp
My boyfriend did reservation to this place. Service started off great . I have heard so many good reviews about this place because a month ago I was craving some lobster . Ambience was ok. I ordered the crème linguine pasta with lobster and he ordered the fried seafood platter. As for drinks I ordered the mango margarita and he ordered the long blue Long Island. Drinks were great, except the food. The platter was salty. And my crème pasta had no flavor, and needed salt. I would say the bill came out to be on the 100+. I have tried better. Would I come back? No. Yet another experience.

Olivia N.

Yelp
Overall rating: 4.7 I came here for a sponsored event, so I can't speak to the service. But man, oh, man. THE FOOD. Girl. O. M. G. So good. While lobsters and mussels are usually always good, my review is about the pasta. Heavenly. Delicious. Mouthwatering. I could it for one week straight for lunch & dinner and not get tired. I believe it was the $28 pasta clam sauce & I'll need to come back on a paycheck day. Also the view from the deck is absolutely breathtaking on a pretty day. Highly, highly recommend!

Aniello D.

Yelp
Went there yesterday I had an injury on my leg. I got there about2:30 ppm . The staff was horrible. I mean horrible. I pushed it aside & had to make my own way to sit down because I couldn't walk/ stand I had to make my own seating was questioned by 2-3 waiters? Even though place was 35% occupied had to find my own table ?I finally sat down myself & looked at the menù the prices Crazy 8 ounce lobster was $45! Where I can pick it up in the fish store for like $10 at most I think they head swelled up ?? I also think their prices are out of control out of this world? New York prices are cheaper. I ended up getting up and walking out because I was so disgusted in the service and the food prices didn't even try the food. Glad I walked away went to Wheelers in sheepshead Bay food was excellent and service was impeccable. One of my favorite spots. I will warn people stay away from that place. Totally overpriced. Service is bad. Only good thing they have they're on the water.

Yelp
This place definitely fell short of my expectations. I ordered the lobster and steak and i became sick shortly after. I don't think i will be returning.

Yelp
My sisters and I found Nick's Lobster House in NYC Tourism site as a restaurant participating in Restaurant Week. When we got there on Saturday night, we were told the Restaurant Week menu was only available Monday to Friday. On the NYC Tourism site, it was not specifically stipulated the days the Restaurant Week menu was valid. We immediately felt bamboozled and contemplated leaving, but we drove an hour to get there and the aromas coming from the kitchen, we decided to stay, and boy, were we happy that we stayed. THE FOOD WAS WORTH THE HOUR DRIVE!!! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!. Our waiter Ricardo provided impeccable, top-notch service. Extremely attentive. The ambiance was lovely. Even the music being played throughout the restaurant was great. Popular 90's pop music, and I'm an 80's baby, so the 90's was the best times of my life. There is an outdoor seating area with nice views that my sisters and I are looking forward to taking advantage of when we return in the summer. The head chef Demetri came out and greeted us and inquired about how we felt about our food and experience. We will definitely be back!!

Nicole Z.

Yelp
Food was OK. Lobster soup was horrible. I ordered dessert to the cinnamon bun and velvet cake. It wasn't too good.

Mi Gusta B.

Yelp
Eh... We requested to sit on the patio and asked for the table by the water and they said it was reserved. It never filled while we were there for 2 hours... Expensive with small portions. Everything was very salty. The lobster pizza was delicious. Service was good, staff was nice. Won't be back.

Helen H.

Yelp
Terrific place, in nice weather the outdoor (covered) deck is a relaxing, peaceful place to enjoy a great meal. The lobsters are huge, the classic lobster rolls can't be beat & the shrimp cocktail and raw clams were the freshest! Great place to go when you're in a seafood mood. I've been there numerous times and they never disappoint. Highly recommend!

Lisa H.

Yelp
Service non existing was seated 7:45 had to find some one 8:25 smh. Oysters were good , salmon jerk bites taste recycled and old ! 2nd time trying to make excuses for them , surely my last visit. Was seated outside which was nice cool breeze a little bug/fly problem but hey we sat outside. But Nicks y'all fell of big time

Faye H.

Yelp
Great food. excellent service by Nancy nice ambiance with the view of Mill Basin. We recommend Nick's Lobster!!

Michele P.

Yelp
Lobster boil was overcooked service was good but they are really overpriced. Won't be going back they charged for butter! Desert sizes are ridiculously small for the price and aren't all that goo!

John N.

Yelp
All the things you need to go out for a special occasion. Easy access via Belt Pkwy. Pull in and park in a perfect parking lot with a great view right off Flatbush Av. Fresh seafood . Fresh sushi . Turf . Come on! you get all that with amazing water views of the bay and attentive staff. You get a menu that will give you the "yummies" at first site. Party room for groups so find a good reason to bring family and friends together to feast. It's a non stressful way to enjoy a great meal. Oh yeah parking is free so just go already. Here's my recent visit.

Lilly A C.

Yelp
My husband and I love Nicks Lobster House. Everyone was so attentive and friendly. The outdoor seating absolutely beautiful! Perfect date idea!

Dwana P.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance, fast and courteous service with a personal touch, and delicious food. Watch the seagulls swoop mesmerizingly past the bay windows overlooking boats dotting the Mill Basin waterfront. Beautiful all around.

Thomas P.

Yelp
Food is fantastic specially salmon is well cooked service is ok location is wonderful we have visited several times and each time tried different food and loved it would recommend.

Chantelle W.

Yelp
I hadn't been here in almost a decade so I was skeptical. But I knew I didn't want to go for for Valentines Day so I figured why not. I had heard great things about the pasta from a friend and my boyfriend is a big pasta eater. The service and ambiance was nice. The cocktails were reasonably priced. I did feel the entrees were on the pricier side but the portions matched the cost so no complaint there. All the food was very good and I'll definitely come back. There are more items on the menu that I need to try.

Neela N.

Yelp
Great food. Lovely service. Romantic ambience. Great cocktails! Try the lobster with seafood stuffing. The calamari is tasty. Drinks are great. Kudos to the bartender! Great Negroni.

Shamel F.

Yelp
The food was horrible. It lacked flavor. The seafood boil was overpriced (80.00) and the sauce was very watery so the flavor didn't stick. I sent it back and ordered these fried shrimps and it was just as bad. I sent those back as well. I appreciated the waiter understanding so I gave it an extra star for his patience and customer service.

Luis N.

Yelp
Totally disappointing! The food was bland and the service left much to be desired. The wait staff had no enthusiasm to the. It was like they did not want to be there. The ambiance was so boring. No positive vibe in the place and it was a Saturday night! Never going back!

Victoria B.

Yelp
We had a dinner with friends at Nick's Lobster House last Saturday. Restaurant has a parking. The ambiance is really nice, every dish we ordered was delicious. Our server Ricardo was superb. We really recommend this restaurant.

Etta C.

Yelp
Very good service the ambiance ver terrific by the water and the food was very fresh.

Sherri M.

Yelp
Drove by Nick's when out driving around, while visiting NY from California. Looked at reviews on Yelp and figured we would give them a try. It was lunch time. Not fancy but very cozy. And everyone was very friendly. Place was clean including the restrooms. We were seated with a nice view of the water. Ordered the lobster rolls, and hubby had the Manhattan Clam chowder. Soup was good but a bit salty for my preference. The Connecticut Lobster Rolls were AMAZING! And OMG, these people make YUMMY house french fries. Had a couple beers from the bar. If we make our way back to Brooklyn we will definitely return! And recommend you give them a try!

Deirdre M.

Yelp
Rip off. Came here last night for a birthday party of 8. All was great until we got the bill and realized the waiter totally pulled a fast one on us. There's a surf and turf on the menu for 75 dollars. I ordered that and he said did you want the special. I asked him what the difference is and he said "not much." Haha!!! Turns out there was a *little* difference. That special was 145. Meanwhile the menu surf and turf is a whole lobster and steak....the special is a broiled tail and steak....for somehow more money. I still didn't know the price when I ate it, unfortunately that's doubly disappointing because the tail was dry and the steak was ok. But I hate sending food back so whatever. Then we get the bill. Five of us opted for that special at the waiter's suggestion. Our bill amounted to 1589. We had gone here expecting maybe 8-900 for all of us even after getting a bunch of drinks and apps. This completely ruined the night as everyone not expecting to chip in that much tried to figure out how to split this. I didn't say anything because it's really our fault for not asking (but I also kind of did aka what's the difference in these two things??) Real shame especially since we used to come here a bunch. Half of us are locals but I will never come back or recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Visited with my dad and bae. Food we ordered from appetizer to entree to dessert was delicious. Drinks were good too. The service we received from Karen was very good too. She was attentive, professional, and she exhibited great customer service to us. Lastly, the restuarant was clean and the ambiance was mellow/low-key with a nice water view. This restaurant exceeded my expectation and I would definitely recommend to others to dine here and I will definitely revisit sooner than later.

Yelp
We decided to try Nick's because we were in the mood for raw oysters. The menu looked good so we gave it a try. Restaurant was renovated and clean. Our waiter Ricardo was the best! Great service and very attentive. All the seafood we ordered was fresh and delicious. We will definitely return to try more dishes.
