The 17 Best Restaurants In Manhattan Beach

"Located in a fancy outdoor mall straight out of a Williams Sonoma catalog, Nick’s has all the ingredients to be yet another corporate lunch/brunch wasteland. But it’s not. And it’s because the crowd-pleasing American comfort food menu—think seared ahi salad, cioppino, and fried chicken plats—is pretty delicious, with great service and an even better patio to boot. It’s not a complicated formula, but this all-day downtown restaurant has it figured it out. " - nikko duren, brant cox, garrett snyder

Nice ambiance. Good service. Delicious food and not overly priced. Decent size portion. Simple menu. Most of the dishes we ordered were all good except for thai salad. Butter cake was nice and warm: one of the best I've had in a while. Complimentary birthday cake. Highly recommend this place.

I had a great time here. Welcoming servers and great food. Our server John was amazing. He took good care of us and we are coming back because of him also. The manager Destiny checked on us! Make sure to check this place out and get the butter cake at the end…it’s so worth it. My dinner was sushi and pan-seared salmon, Chardonnay to top It off. Wow good food!! The ambiance made it better!

We came for a casual dinner and accidentally bought the Austin Hope experience — aka the most regretful bottle on the wine list. I can’t believe they still serve it; it tastes like grapes that went through an identity crisis. That said, the bar was lively, the crowd was local, and the food was solid — not “write-home-about-it” amazing, but good enough to make you forget (almost) about the wine. Definitely feels like a neighborhood go-to spot for an easy night out… just maybe stick to cocktails. 🍸

Wonderful Evening! We had such a lovely evening at Nick Manhattan Beach! The food was delicious, and the portions were generous – exactly what we were hoping for. From starters to dessert, everything was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The location is fantastic – close to the beach with a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. On top of that, the staff were incredibly hardworking, friendly, and attentive. Their warm energy really added to the whole experience. We’re definitely coming back and will recommend this place to friends and family. Thank you, Nick Manhattan Beach!

We had an enjoyable lunch at Nick’s in manhattan beach on a Saturday morning. Service was great. Coffee was cold, so the had to brew a new batch for us. I tried the fish sandwich. It was ok 3.5/5. Nothing to write home about. I also tried a bit a the chicken katsu salad. 4/5. To much going on in it. Way too many mangoes. The spicy tuna crispy rice appy was decent but not sure if it was worth $19. All in all not bad but I think there are better options in the area.

Salmon was fresh but was dry and overcooked. The sea bass however was cooked perfectly. The California salad and Mai Tai were also excellent. Service was good.

Nick’s Manhattan Beach was a perfect choice for our grown ups only lunch with my husband’s family. Parking was crazy during the time we went around 2pm. We were driving around for 15 minutes trying to find parking. Funny enough, we finally snagged a space in the parking lot across from Nick’s. 2 hour metered parking limit. Ugh. We had a reservation for 10 guests. They sat us at a big round table on the patio. Adeli was our lovely server and she was very sweet and attentive for the duration of our dining experience. Amazing service. The menu looked so good. Everything was pricey, especially considering it was only lunch time. But this is a nice restaurant too so the prices don’t really shock me either. I opted for the Chicken Katsu Salad. The salad had Chicken Katsu, mango, heirloom tomatoes, red peppers, crispy carrots, serrano peppers, peanuts, napa cabbage, arugula, asian cilantro dressing. Yummy! I was super happy with my choice because the presentation was on point but more importantly, all the flavors complimented each other. The textures of this salad were on point. Chicken Katsu was fresh and crispy and was a nice touch to the salad all in all. The Blackened Fish Sandwich was a popular item. I almost ordered that too but all the salads looked unique and tasty. Prime Rib Dip Sandwich looked appealing too as I’m a big fan of French Dip sandwiches all in all. It was a nice day out with the grown ups and no kids. Nick’s was the perfect spot with delicious food, good drinks, great service and the whole vibe/ambiance. I would highly recommend this spot for a nice meal. DO IT!!!

Google
The service was amazing. It was easy to reserve a seat online. Claudia even called later to confirm, nice touch. The food was great, the Pan seared salmon was flawless. Great plating. My guest ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, she cleared her plate, and she's a typically a light eater. That's superb.

Yelp
My first experience at Nick's was amazing! The spinach dip, French onion soup and the Halibut special was a hit. But above all, our waiter Paolo was the highlight of the night! He was informative about the menu and he made our table laugh the whole night. Will definitely be requesting him next to we pay a visit in LA.

Yelp
Nick's Manhattan Beach - Still Exceptional After All These Years After many years of living in Manhattan Beach, Nick's has always been our family's go-to restaurant -- for celebrations, for hosting friends from out of town, and for those nights when you just need a guaranteed great meal. Their food has always been elevated, consistent, and truly delicious. Even though we no longer live in Manhattan Beach, we always make it a point to dine at Nick's whenever we're back in town. On our most recent trip, we wondered if it would still be as good after more than a year away. The answer? Absolutely yes. In fact, we ended up having dinner there three times in one week -- that says everything. From the moment you walk in, the staff treats you with a level of professionalism and warmth that feels rare these days. The service is polished, the vibes are perfect, and the entire operation runs seamlessly. The food remains fantastic, the ambiance is inviting, and the consistency is unmatched. Manhattan Beach has truly become a culinary destination, and Nick's continues to sit right at the center of it -- still exceptional, still reliable, and still one of the best. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The place was nice it was a little smaller than the Nick's I normally would go to(South of Nick's in San Clemente). But they didn't skimp on the ambiance of the place. It would make a great date night spot. Since it was my first time to Manhattan Beach I didn't know that Parking is Metered every where close to the restaurant untill after 9pm most places its 6pm. Now the restaurant did seat us within 45mins of walking in which was good because it was a last-minute meetup with family from New Orleans and we didn't have reservations. Once we were done eating we moved to a bar top and watch the Dodgers winning the World Series. The food is where they lose the one star. It wasn't bad tasting or that it came out cold. It just tasted like it was slapped together. We went on the waiters recommendation after he hit it out the park with the appetizer suggestion. Plus we only had one dietary concern, no pork! So he said the Shrimp Taquitos as our shareable which was awesome. Then he suggested the Sea Bass and the buttermilk fried Checken with Smashed Potatoes and Crispy Chicken Sandwich. So the Sea Bass was Mid at best. The Buttermilk Chicken was a hit but you can tell that the potatoes were either just nuked in a microwave or it was under a heating lamp for a minute because no matter how much butter and pepper we put in it, ther wasn't much pop to it. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich is the other reason for the minus one star. I should have just sent it back instead of trying to be not rude. Plus not to embarrass my family because this place was my idea. I just removed the toppings at the table. I knocked everything that came on that Sandwich off except for the herb mayo and the tomatoes and the arugula. Which made it OK. I also had the Smashed Potatoes too. Now the Alcohol was right, whomever the bartender was hats off to you sir. Plus they use the Mexican Coke so that was also a nice touch. Also the Men's bathroom was immaculate good job. So with Food, TIP, 2 drinks for 3 ppl its was $220. Sorry didn't take photos of the others food they had already started digging in. In the future i may give them another shot if someone else is paying. Until then I'll still explore the Manhattan Beach area and just stick to my usual Nick's location.

Yelp
Disappointed by last experience at Nick's. A restaurant that we have gone to many times for business and pleasure in Manhattan Beach and Carlsbad! The consistency in food quality is lacking! This was evident during our last visit to the Manhattan Beach Restaurant. My husband I stopped in late afternoon to grab some refreshments and a meal at the bar. As always the service at the bar for drinks was excellent: especially the bar back. A very hard working women who loves her job. Our experience with food and service was another story. We started out with appetizers: decided to try something new....the bear offered several sushi options so chose to try this over our standard asparagus appetizer. When it took approximately 30 minutes to get sushi we knew something was wrong. Our second clue was when the wait staff was avoiding us until somebody finally approached us and said sorry, we need to make the sushi again. After hearing this I was second guessing our option... especially after 30 minutes. Note restaurant was empty when we ordered. We finally received our sushi and the shrimp inside was minimal, almost a joke and over fried and cooked. The sushi texture was tough and frankly the order was not edible. We had to send it back. We also order a steak and the infamous stuff potato. The steak was ok but I think the quality of cut was different than I remember. The potato was a bit too salty for me: I know there's always a salt coating on the outside but seems to be overpowering. Also I was sad to hear my Bees Knee drink was taken off the money. This is a classic drink. This restaurant made it perfectly with its fresh juices! I was told to mention this to corporate. With an experience like this: and given there is a lot of like restaurants to Nick's we may choose to spend our money elsewhere where we can expect consistent food quality.

Yelp
The food was phenomenal, I will definitely be returning! Everyone in my group had a different item, and the feedback was consistent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as well, we had a baby with us and they found a spot that could fit a stroller. We were seated outside and it was perfect for conversation and people watching :)

Yelp
Great first visit. We were in the area and stopped in- I'm glad we did! Excellent service from Connor, he was attentive and helpful. We had a Dirty Martini and an iced tea. Food wise we had: Shrimp Taquitos- large shrimp and tasty. Spicy tuna rolls- freshly made and delicious The SF Cioppino- tomato base and delicious with shrimp clams and halibut. Large bowl was $38. Rounded off with the California salad. Great food and amazing ambience. We will return soon.

Yelp
I love nicks have been going for years! And I've never thought to write a review. I wish I could name drop every staff member who's ever interacted with me. Always a 5 start experience. But tonight Jonathan served us at the bar and insisted I try something out of my comfort zone! I had the chicken Katsu salad. And I loved the refreshing flavor it had. I was so happy I tried a new dish I'm now so obsessed with. Drinks were awesome we love Nicks Cocktails. We love Jonathan and can't wait visit him again.

Yelp
Recently tried Nick's for the first time for a friend's birthday. Our server was great, he was nice, attentive and gave some awesome recommendations. I got Cha Cha's Spicy Rigatoni, it was delicious! There are so many great Italian places in LA that have perfected this dish so I was a little worried I'd be disappointed, but it was great! We also shared the butter cake for dessert, this dessert is absolutely amazing. I don't order dessert too often when I go out to eat but I can say I will always get this when I visit Nick's.

Yelp
First time and had an amazing experience. Food was 5/5. Presentation, portions, and freshness was on point. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp taquitos and California salad. Cioppino and spicy tuna was the main attraction. The Cioppino was out of this world! Rich tomato broth with clams, mussels, salmon, white fish, and large shrimp. Chef's kiss. Impeccable and attentive service. Ambiance was lively and chill if that makes sense. Bathrooms were clean and modern. Can't wait to return to try out their other dishes.

Yelp
We were highly satisfied with the prime beef dip sandwich! The portion and quality was worth the $20. Our friends enjoyed their crispy chicken sandwich. I'd love to return for dinner to soak in the ambiance of their dining area. Pro tip: Enjoy a drink at the wood crafted bar while you wait for your to-go order or to be seated.

Eduardo P.

Yelp
Embarrasing experience. I sat at the bar and had dinner and a few drinks, I asked for the check and paid cash and left a decent tip "more than 20%". When I left and was walking out one of the waiters chased after me and yelled "excuse me sir, you forgot to pay your bill" in front of people sitting outside. It was embarrassing because I did pay my bill and the fact that he called me out in front of other customers was very embarrassing.

Yelp
Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday. The service was friendly, the vibe is sort of a modern pub. We sat outside which was nice with the cool coastal air and warmth of the heat lamps. All the food was great! For appetizers we had the asparagus fries, fried deviled eggs, tuna tartare.. most of us had the blackened fish sandwich, and my hubby had the prime rib dip, of which he had promised to give me a bite, but conveniently forgot ;) For dessert we shared the lemon cake, which I am still thinking about! We had another birthday recently and even though it is completely out of the way, I half considered driving over there if I could buy a whole cake! It was light, moist and flavorful! Just perfect! Id definitely eat here again, but this time Im ordering the prime rib dip!

Yelp
Great Dining location in Manhattan Beach. They just added Sushi. The Staff is really attentive and on top of their game, we had a little pho-pa with our order and they corrected immediately. John did a great job!

Yelp
Thursday at 5:15, I embarked on a noble quest: to sit at a bar and drink overpriced cocktails with a college friend. Mission accomplished. David, our mixologist for the night, shook my martini with such vigor that capturing a still photo was impossible, seriously! The man has the wrist strength of a champion maraca player. And let's take a moment to appreciate Nick's for offering triple blue cheese olive martini skewers. That's not just a drink; that's a whole appetizer on a stick. Efficiency at its finest. On the food front, we dabbled in some appetizers. The asparagus fries: parmesan-crusted spears with buttermilk ranch, they were good (solid B+). We also devoured the crispy rice with spicy tuna: featuring ponzu, micro wasabi, and spicy aioli, another solid B+. If these dishes were students, they'd be the ones who did their homework but didn't go for extra credit. The vibe? Super chill. I chatted with some MB locals who were in full relaxation mode, and there was a TV showing the Lakers game, because priorities. Final verdict: Nick's is a win. Come for the drinks, stay for the food, and try to get a still picture of David's martini-making skills (spoiler: you won't).

Yelp
I tried the fish sandwich at Nick's, and wow--it was absolutely amazing! The bun was perfect--crispy on the outside but not burned, just done to perfection. The fish itself was super juicy, and every single bite was delicious. I usually stick to pork or beef, but this was my very first time trying a fish sandwich, and honestly, it was the best. Highly recommend! Would you like me to make it a bit shorter for something like Google Reviews or keep it longer for something like Yelp?
google avatar

Maylee W.

Yelp
Arrived 1 minute after the grace period of 15 minutes and they gave my table away. You need to call the restaurant and let them know that you can't find a place to park in MB! I waited another 15 minutes for a table to leave. Not a great start. The menu looked so familiar- I feel the essence of Hillstone or R and D Kitchen...Ordered the prime rib dip sandwich and the Thai noodle salad. Both were excellent. Prime rib was rare which I love. However I wish the French fries were shoestring since I don't like thick fries, but they had the spicy mayo... Service - food. Ambience- I had to sit in the patio and it was cold that afternoon and my table wasn't next to the heat lamps - ugh.

Yelp
I've been to Nicks many times but this one deserves a review. My server Paolo was top notch! Very knowledgeable about the menu guided me through while asking my likes and preferences. Was only going to get 1 starter but because of his exceptional service I got two. Shrimp taquitos and deviled eggs. I was even sold on taking a second entree Togo the cha cha rigatoni! Thanks Paolo I will definitely be back!

Yelp
One of the best experiences in Manhattan Beach; excellent food and lovely atmosphere and service. I had dinner with a friend in the outdoor space on a cool Spring evening and had a wonderful dinning experience. The service was both attentive and didn't leave us feel rushed or overwhelmed. For starters, we ordered a delicious Ahi tartar served with avocado and it was delicious. For dinner I ordered a salmon dish and it was cooked perfectly; sometimes, salmon is overcooked and can be dry. The salmon was topped with a delicious sauce which included capers which provided a beautiful compliment to the fish. The star of the show was the amazing butter cake; leave room for this as it is an absolute treat and you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
I want to start off with thanking Vanessa our waitress. She was so helpful, it was our first time at Nick's. We were celebrating our anniversary and we decided to try something new she helped us pick the best dishes and was solely taking care of us. Other servers weren't helpful only to pick the check up. That was annoying. If you go to Nick's ask for Vanessa She will definitely have you coming back not just for the food but for her service. Thank you Vanessa for the amazing service top tier!!!

Yelp
I've been to the Long Beach location multiple times, but this was my first time at the Manhattan Beach location. I will continue to give Nick's 4 stars until they bring back the Salty Pear martini! That drink was perfection! The food was as good as the other locations I've tried and loved. Our waiter was nice and attentive and the restaurant was nice and spacious compared to the LB location. Nick's has become one of my favorite restaurant and I will continue to keep coming back!
google avatar

Evelyn V.

Yelp
I had tried the Long Beach location so I wanted to try this one. I didn't like the sushi roll I tried. It had bell peppers, cucumbers and it was topped with salmon. I felt like it was too many flavors in one roll. I also tried the chicken Picatta and it was ok. My date tried the sea bass and it was awesome. Their lattes are amazing and so if their butter cake. They don't give complimentary desserts for birthdays or anniversaries so I wouldn't go back on a special occasion but it's really good. Butter cake is the phenomenal and worth $15.00
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to Nick's four times over the last five months and the food hits every time. It's in a super cute shopping square with a patio (heat lamps when it's cold) a full bar with seating and booth sitting. There is a view into the kitchen which I always find is a nice touch. My favorites have been the fried asparagus with aioli dip, shrimp taquitos with whole shrimp, the prime rib melt and butter cake for desert. I literally dream about their prime rib melt. A little sweetness with a thin layer of cheese and crispy bread. It's the best. The staff is always super nice and I've never had a reservation. Food comes out quick, but you never feel rushed. I expected this restaurant to stay one of my favorites every time I visit LA.

Billie G.

Yelp
Very disappointed in the food, but more the service. I ordered the cioppino, the bistro plate and the tuna mango sushi roll. the sushi roll was great. the cioppino smelled and tasted spoiled, i had one bite and had to throw the rest away as i was worried of food poisonin. the steak in the bistro was ask for well done and was prepared medium. i called the restaurant but they said they could not do anything about it and am hopefully waiting to hear back from a manager. it was my first time there and disappointed in how much i paid for the quality of the food and the spoiled cioppino. Hoping someone can contact me back soon. Thank you:)

Yelp
Went for a celebratory dinner with the family. All of us enjoyed the food we ordered with some leftovers to spare. They have a lot of items on the menu and ones that are consistent. They do customize - remove cheese for example - and have a great variety for diverse tastes. Parking is below the building with meters on the street too. Sometimes can get busy. Rez are important because they get busy, but we were able on a weekday to move our Rez up an hour. It's quiet and easy to talk - with mood lighting for dinner. Highly recommend the butter cake for dessert, cioppino and salads. My fav the asparagus appetizer.

Yelp
Family friendly and consistent ! The menu has a ton of variety and can accommodate most. The ambiance is nice but not too showy. The sushi is a nice new addition to the menu.

Yelp
Enjoy the ambiance. My sandwich was OK, but I enjoyed the salad. Our server was very attentive and was able to provide us best possible lunch experience..

Yelp
Had dinner here for my friends birthday. We were sat immediately and were helped with drinks right away. I tried The Tequini and it was very tasty. The appetizers were very good and plenty for our party of 6 (caesar salad, calamari, and shrimp taquitos). For entree I shared the crispy chicken sandwich and fries and I was blown away. The chicken was breaded perfectly and had such good flavor. The provolone cheese was the perfect combo. The slaw, sliced almonds, and sesame seed bun set this over the edge of goodness. My friend got a complimentary chocolate cake for her birthday. Nice balance of bitter and sweetness. They even gave her a card signed by the staff, nice touch. For the table we shared the butter cake and it was divine. Maybe not the best butter cake I've had but delicious nonetheless. Prices are decent but the food and service will definitely bring me back.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Great vibes and food, near the beach, and kid friendly! Luckily we had made a reservation and was able to get a seat outside. The weather was perfect and the skies were blue. We got the cioppino, salmon, and petit filet mignon that came with a salad and soup of the day which was a creamy French onion. We loved everything and I think the best thing was the cioppino. The portion size was generous and for the price you get a good amount of seafood. Service was great too and I would definitely come back. The only downside was parking which is tricky when you're near a pier. Make sure to allow ample time for parking because it takes a while to find a spot.

Yelp
Checked out this fabulous restaurant in Manhattan Beach for the first time and it was not disappointing at all. Big thanks to our loved one (CE!) for introducing and treating us to this marvelous eatery. All the dishes we ordered were beyond delicious. Will not hesitate to revisit this fine diner again in the future. Highly recommend the prime rib beef dish.

Yelp
Consistently a great experience. Food and service is always on point. Recommend ending with their cappuccino and butter cake.

Yelp
Enjoyed dining here. Had reservations. Chose to sit outdoors. Started with a cocktail, a jalapeño watermelon margarita. Delicious. I ordered the Cioppino. I knew it came with a round loaf of garlic, butter sourdough on the side. One of the best Cioppinos I've eaten in a long time. The bread was so good, I had to eat the entire thing. Even though I was full, I ordered the butter cake for dessert. So yummy. It comes topped with fruit and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The service was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Had a great visit to Nick's recently and tried a few things off the menu. The bacon deviled eggs were the standout--crispy, rich, and packed with flavor. The fact that they were deep-fried really elevated them. Easily an 8.5 out of 10. Also ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, which was solid. Good portion size, nice texture, and satisfying overall. I'd give it a 7 out of 10--nothing groundbreaking, but definitely enjoyable.

Yelp
Nick's is one of the best restaurants in Manhattan Beach. This restaurant offers a very nice selection of high-quality dishes. My favorite, and the one I have pretty much every time I come in, is their cioppino. It is really-really good. Nick's has both indoor dining as well as patio dining. Personally, I always enjoy sitting out on the patio. Rain or shine, it's always a great place to enjoy a meal. This being said, they also do have a very nice interior dinning space for those who want to be more enclosed. Plus, they also have a good bar area. The design of this restaurant verges on the old school leading to a very nice and classic dining experience. The staff are always very friendly and helpful for anything you may need. Overall, if you're looking a great meal in Manhattan Beach, this restaurant is a great choice.

Yelp
Unfortunately, we had the worst service here we've had in a long while. Whatever we asked for, no matter how small, the answer was NO. And the food is mediocre. We won't be returning, and do not recommend this location
google avatar

Adeeva M.

Yelp
This restaurant is simply amazing! I easily found street parking which is metered but it was complementary parking since it's the holiday season. There's also an underground lot they can be accessed for parking as well. I decided on a glass of the Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon which was excellent. I ordered the salmon dish for my entree and LOVED IT! The salmon was cooked to perfection and the sauce it comes with balanced it out so well. The mashed potatoes were amazing as well. The spinach was interesting because it came with almonds, not bad but not my preference. Overall I would definitely come back here for a nice dinner out! The service was great and the restaurant was beautiful and elegant (patio seating as well).

I picked this spot out at Metlox in Manhattan Beach to continue celebrating my birthday. I had an amazing time. The waiter was very attentive and helpful. My food came out absolutely amazing. I could not ask for more. The restaurant vibes were very friendly. A lot of professionals in the area parking was not bad at all it is underground if you choose not to park on the street. Play me a restaurant to choose from but Nick's hit the spot for me. 10/10

Yelp
Provender: this is an upscale surf and turf restaurant in the Manhattan Beach area. They offer a wide variety of food from burgers to seafood. I ordered the ribeye sandwich and it was great. The French onion soup was also delicious. Prices: reasonable for the area and the coastal ambiance. Parking: the restaurant is in an open shopping area that has an underground parking lot. 1.5 hours will run you about $3. People: fun for all. Perks: they offer indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor seating has heat lamps. Service was attentive.

Yelp
So good! I loved the area and the square it was in felt cozy and the warmers kept us warm on the patio. The rib eye sandwich was to die for and everyone else in my party agreed theirs was just as good. Highly recommend the steak sandwich and whatever specials they have that day!

Yelp
Went here specifically for the Mai Tais. It was my birthday and I can't be in Hawaii. A friend told me about their lilikoi foam mai tais and had to have one. Parking is easy. Upscale beachy restaurant. Bar with a lot of seating. We did not have reservations. Service was great. Drink was delicious. And of course the butter cake was delicious. Would come again.

Yelp
We were in the neighborhood, and it was our first time, we ordered steak and seafood soup. The steak came with baked potato, the decoration was really nice, it tasted good. The soup was also good, it came with a bread. We enjoyed our food, definitely try again.

Yelp
We spent a nice afternoon walking around Manhattan Beach and decided to eat early dinner at Nick's which we've never been. I was delightfully surprised when the hostess recognized my phone number from Nick's in Sydney, which I frequently visit. The food was very good and good service. We had a memorable dinner.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years, but I just visited yesterday and had this wonderful server by the name of Vanessa. Her service was impeccable now the food is always good. However, VANESSA service to our table was SO good, I had to tell her manager Nancy, about her excellent service, on top of the excellent food.. due to the fact that I was starving I only have pictures of my cocktail in the appetizer, which were shrimp taquitos a must have if you ever go to Nick's. I've also had their salmon dip, artichoke dip, asparagus fries, as appetizers all our excellent choices.. it's Manhattan Beach. The ambience is always fire.

Yelp
Nick's is located in the Metlox plaza and is a very nice place for brunch. I walked in with a friend and couldn't decide between their Bistro Plate and Blackened Fish Sandwich. Thankfully, our server Kyla was well-versed in the menu, and I went with her recommendation of the Bistro Plate. When the Bistro Plate arrived, I was nervous to dig in because of a previous bad experience with filet mignon. I'm not quite the meat enthusiast and went with medium-rare, and oh did it not disappoint! The filet mignon was seasoned well with salt and pepper as well as additional ingredients that provided a hint of sweet. Their unique mix of ingredients was perfect for a petite afternoon meal. Moving on from the filet mignon, I enjoyed their bistro salad, a light toss of greens in a sweet vinaigrette. The soup of the day was a creamy textured lentil which exceeded any expectations that I ever had of lentil soup - can't quite call it cream of tomato, but it was delicious! What was most outstanding was Kyla's impeccable service and attention in keeping our waters topped off at all times. For reference, I cleared maybe 5 cups in the 45 minutes that I was there. Thank you for an amazing brunch!

Yelp
If you're looking for an upscale dining experience with an ocean breeze and unmatched customer service, Nick's in Manhattan Beach is the spot. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was elegant yet laid-back -- exactly what you want for a girls night or a solo soft-life dinner. Let me start with Paolo, our server -- 10/10. Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. He made sure everything was perfect, down to the cocktail pairings. You can tell when someone takes pride in the guest experience, and Paolo understood the assignment. We ordered: * Shrimp Taquitos - perfectly crisp, bursting with flavor * Spinach Artichoke Dip - creamy, cheesy, and addictive * Warm Bread Loaf - the crust, the butter, the softness... elite * Salmon Caesar Salad - the salmon was tender and flaky, perfectly seasoned, and the salad had the right balance of crunch and dressing My friend ordered a Lemon Drop with Tequila that hit all the right citrus notes. I paired my meal with a classic Old Fashioned, and the blend was smooth, strong, and beautifully crafted. Between the vibe, the food, and Paolo's service, it was a 5-star experience from start to finish. Highly recommend Nick's MB for your next dinner date, celebration, or treat-yourself moment.
