The 17 Best Restaurants In Manhattan Beach

"Located in a fancy outdoor mall straight out of a Williams Sonoma catalog, Nick’s has all the ingredients to be yet another corporate lunch/brunch wasteland. But it’s not. And it’s because the crowd-pleasing American comfort food menu—think seared ahi salad, cioppino, and fried chicken plats—is pretty delicious, with great service and an even better patio to boot. It’s not a complicated formula, but this all-day downtown restaurant has it figured it out. " - nikko duren, brant cox, garrett snyder

Wonderful Evening! We had such a lovely evening at Nick Manhattan Beach! The food was delicious, and the portions were generous – exactly what we were hoping for. From starters to dessert, everything was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The location is fantastic – close to the beach with a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. On top of that, the staff were incredibly hardworking, friendly, and attentive. Their warm energy really added to the whole experience. We’re definitely coming back and will recommend this place to friends and family. Thank you, Nick Manhattan Beach!

Nick’s Manhattan Beach was a perfect choice for our grown ups only lunch with my husband’s family. Parking was crazy during the time we went around 2pm. We were driving around for 15 minutes trying to find parking. Funny enough, we finally snagged a space in the parking lot across from Nick’s. 2 hour metered parking limit. Ugh. We had a reservation for 10 guests. They sat us at a big round table on the patio. Adeli was our lovely server and she was very sweet and attentive for the duration of our dining experience. Amazing service. The menu looked so good. Everything was pricey, especially considering it was only lunch time. But this is a nice restaurant too so the prices don’t really shock me either. I opted for the Chicken Katsu Salad. The salad had Chicken Katsu, mango, heirloom tomatoes, red peppers, crispy carrots, serrano peppers, peanuts, napa cabbage, arugula, asian cilantro dressing. Yummy! I was super happy with my choice because the presentation was on point but more importantly, all the flavors complimented each other. The textures of this salad were on point. Chicken Katsu was fresh and crispy and was a nice touch to the salad all in all. The Blackened Fish Sandwich was a popular item. I almost ordered that too but all the salads looked unique and tasty. Prime Rib Dip Sandwich looked appealing too as I’m a big fan of French Dip sandwiches all in all. It was a nice day out with the grown ups and no kids. Nick’s was the perfect spot with delicious food, good drinks, great service and the whole vibe/ambiance. I would highly recommend this spot for a nice meal. DO IT!!!

Had lunch today & as good as advertised. Gin and Collin’s very refreshing. Appetizer crispy rice tuna was good, chicken sandwich very good and big enough to share. And the kale salad was the star of the show. We will be back

Family friendly and consistent ! The menu has a ton of variety and can accommodate most. The ambiance is nice but not too showy. The sushi is a nice new addition to the menu.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Nick's, and it was an exceptional experience. The environment inside is warm, comfortable, and friendly, making you feel right at home. The standout feature, however, is the patio. It offers incredible people-watching views, especially with the perfect weather we enjoyed during our visit. The service was remarkable from start to finish. Every staff member we interacted with was attentive and genuinely pleasant. As for the food and drinks, they did not disappoint. The Real Fruit Vodka Strawberry Lemonade was refreshingly delicious, striking just the right balance of flavors. For dinner, I opted for the salmon, and it was impeccably prepared. Every bite was a testament to the kitchen's skill and attention to detail. The entire meal was perfect in every way—I couldn't have made it better myself. Overall, Nick's provided an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere.

Lovely ambiance, food was great. A bit low on salt for my taste , but overall delicious. Best feature was the excellent service.

I’ve dined at Nick’s Manhattan Beach before and have always enjoyed the food and attentive service. This time, I stopped by just for a nightcap and chose to sit on the patio by the fire. The ambiance was lovely—warm, inviting, and perfect for winding down the evening. I ordered a glass of Malbec, which was delightful. However, the service was a bit off. The bartender seemed less than enthusiastic when I placed my order, making me feel as though I was inconveniencing him. Despite this hiccup, the overall experience was still enjoyable. The setting provided a cozy end to my night, and I would return for the atmosphere alone.

Google
Unlike many of the rave reviews I’ve seen, my experience here didn’t live up to the hype. As a content creator in the luxury and upscale living space, I had high expectations—but unfortunately, this spot fell short. The service was underwhelming; the waiter rarely checked in, and everything took longer than it should have. The atmosphere felt pretty standard—just an outdoor patio setup you'd find in Dallas or plenty of other cities. Nothing about it stood out as special or luxurious. The food was just okay—not memorable or worth returning for. When we choose to spend our money, especially in a place that markets itself as upscale, we want to feel valued. That wasn’t the case here. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely not. There are far better options in Manhattan Beach—The Strand House being one of them—that actually deliver on experience, ambiance, and service.

Yelp
If you're looking for an upscale dining experience with an ocean breeze and unmatched customer service, Nick's in Manhattan Beach is the spot. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was elegant yet laid-back -- exactly what you want for a girls night or a solo soft-life dinner. Let me start with Paolo, our server -- 10/10. Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. He made sure everything was perfect, down to the cocktail pairings. You can tell when someone takes pride in the guest experience, and Paolo understood the assignment. We ordered: * Shrimp Taquitos - perfectly crisp, bursting with flavor * Spinach Artichoke Dip - creamy, cheesy, and addictive * Warm Bread Loaf - the crust, the butter, the softness... elite * Salmon Caesar Salad - the salmon was tender and flaky, perfectly seasoned, and the salad had the right balance of crunch and dressing My friend ordered a Lemon Drop with Tequila that hit all the right citrus notes. I paired my meal with a classic Old Fashioned, and the blend was smooth, strong, and beautifully crafted. Between the vibe, the food, and Paolo's service, it was a 5-star experience from start to finish. Highly recommend Nick's MB for your next dinner date, celebration, or treat-yourself moment. Yelp
I had tried the Long Beach location so I wanted to try this one. I didn't like the sushi roll I tried. It had bell peppers, cucumbers and it was topped with salmon. I felt like it was too many flavors in one roll. I also tried the chicken Picatta and it was ok. My date tried the sea bass and it was awesome. Their lattes are amazing and so if their butter cake. They don't give complimentary desserts for birthdays or anniversaries so I wouldn't go back on a special occasion but it's really good. Butter cake is the phenomenal and worth $15.00

Yelp
Delicious food and warm and cozy nook! We sat near the kitchen and it was nice to see that everything was clean and orderly. The waitress was kind, soft-spoken, and professional. I had the Scottish salmon and my partner had the breaded chicken. I had a sparkling wine and they had a beer. It was perfection in every bite. The patio was full when we were there for lunch and it stayed full for quite awhile. If you have a chance, that looks like a nice area to people watch and enjoy good weather.

Yelp
Nick's is a swanky establishment that is perfect for after-work gatherings, celebrations, or even just dates with friends. Service was nice and attentive, and the food was pretty good; I opted for the prime rib sandwich with fries, and the sandwich was tender and savory (although it could've had a bit more punch in flavor) and the fries were wonderfully crispy and fluffy. Nick's definitely doesn't come cheap, but it's a pleasant experience!

Yelp
Great Dining location in Manhattan Beach. They just added Sushi. The Staff is really attentive and on top of their game, we had a little pho-pa with our order and they corrected immediately. John did a great job!

Yelp
I've been to the Long Beach location multiple times, but this was my first time at the Manhattan Beach location. I will continue to give Nick's 4 stars until they bring back the Salty Pear martini! That drink was perfection! The food was as good as the other locations I've tried and loved. Our waiter was nice and attentive and the restaurant was nice and spacious compared to the LB location. Nick's has become one of my favorite restaurant and I will continue to keep coming back!

Yelp
Arrived 1 minute after the grace period of 15 minutes and they gave my table away. You need to call the restaurant and let them know that you can't find a place to park in MB! I waited another 15 minutes for a table to leave. Not a great start. The menu looked so familiar- I feel the essence of Hillstone or R and D Kitchen...Ordered the prime rib dip sandwich and the Thai noodle salad. Both were excellent. Prime rib was rare which I love. However I wish the French fries were shoestring since I don't like thick fries, but they had the spicy mayo... Service - food. Ambience- I had to sit in the patio and it was cold that afternoon and my table wasn't next to the heat lamps - ugh.

Yelp
Thursday at 5:15, I embarked on a noble quest: to sit at a bar and drink overpriced cocktails with a college friend. Mission accomplished. David, our mixologist for the night, shook my martini with such vigor that capturing a still photo was impossible, seriously! The man has the wrist strength of a champion maraca player. And let's take a moment to appreciate Nick's for offering triple blue cheese olive martini skewers. That's not just a drink; that's a whole appetizer on a stick. Efficiency at its finest. On the food front, we dabbled in some appetizers. The asparagus fries: parmesan-crusted spears with buttermilk ranch, they were good (solid B+). We also devoured the crispy rice with spicy tuna: featuring ponzu, micro wasabi, and spicy aioli, another solid B+. If these dishes were students, they'd be the ones who did their homework but didn't go for extra credit. The vibe? Super chill. I chatted with some MB locals who were in full relaxation mode, and there was a TV showing the Lakers game, because priorities. Final verdict: Nick's is a win. Come for the drinks, stay for the food, and try to get a still picture of David's martini-making skills (spoiler: you won't).

Yelp
Went for a celebratory dinner with the family. All of us enjoyed the food we ordered with some leftovers to spare. They have a lot of items on the menu and ones that are consistent. They do customize - remove cheese for example - and have a great variety for diverse tastes. Parking is below the building with meters on the street too. Sometimes can get busy. Rez are important because they get busy, but we were able on a weekday to move our Rez up an hour. It's quiet and easy to talk - with mood lighting for dinner. Highly recommend the butter cake for dessert, cioppino and salads. My fav the asparagus appetizer.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my mom's birthday (and surprised her!)--such a cute spot tucked in a little plaza. The food was really good, and I got to try the Caesar salad too... so tasty! Definitely a solid pick for a special occasion or casual night out.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years, but I just visited yesterday and had this wonderful server by the name of Vanessa. Her service was impeccable now the food is always good. However, VANESSA service to our table was SO good, I had to tell her manager Nancy, about her excellent service, on top of the excellent food.. due to the fact that I was starving I only have pictures of my cocktail in the appetizer, which were shrimp taquitos a must have if you ever go to Nick's. I've also had their salmon dip, artichoke dip, asparagus fries, as appetizers all our excellent choices.. it's Manhattan Beach. The ambience is always fire.

Yelp
Had a great visit to Nick's recently and tried a few things off the menu. The bacon deviled eggs were the standout--crispy, rich, and packed with flavor. The fact that they were deep-fried really elevated them. Easily an 8.5 out of 10. Also ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, which was solid. Good portion size, nice texture, and satisfying overall. I'd give it a 7 out of 10--nothing groundbreaking, but definitely enjoyable.

Yelp
Enjoy the ambiance. My sandwich was OK, but I enjoyed the salad. Our server was very attentive and was able to provide us best possible lunch experience..

Yelp
Great vibes and food, near the beach, and kid friendly! Luckily we had made a reservation and was able to get a seat outside. The weather was perfect and the skies were blue. We got the cioppino, salmon, and petit filet mignon that came with a salad and soup of the day which was a creamy French onion. We loved everything and I think the best thing was the cioppino. The portion size was generous and for the price you get a good amount of seafood. Service was great too and I would definitely come back. The only downside was parking which is tricky when you're near a pier. Make sure to allow ample time for parking because it takes a while to find a spot.

Yelp
Checked out this fabulous restaurant in Manhattan Beach for the first time and it was not disappointing at all. Big thanks to our loved one (CE!) for introducing and treating us to this marvelous eatery. All the dishes we ordered were beyond delicious. Will not hesitate to revisit this fine diner again in the future. Highly recommend the prime rib beef dish.

Yelp
Had dinner here for my friends birthday. We were sat immediately and were helped with drinks right away. I tried The Tequini and it was very tasty. The appetizers were very good and plenty for our party of 6 (caesar salad, calamari, and shrimp taquitos). For entree I shared the crispy chicken sandwich and fries and I was blown away. The chicken was breaded perfectly and had such good flavor. The provolone cheese was the perfect combo. The slaw, sliced almonds, and sesame seed bun set this over the edge of goodness. My friend got a complimentary chocolate cake for her birthday. Nice balance of bitter and sweetness. They even gave her a card signed by the staff, nice touch. For the table we shared the butter cake and it was divine. Maybe not the best butter cake I've had but delicious nonetheless. Prices are decent but the food and service will definitely bring me back.

Yelp
I love this location so much. And they just recently added sushi to the menu that looks really good. But for now it's an espresso martini kind of lunch.

Yelp
We've loved coming to Nick's for the past 10 years since moving to LA, and it's long been a favorite spot for our family. Unfortunately, after tonight's experience, I'm not sure we'll be back. We had a 5:00 PM reservation for six people on Friday. That morning, my daughter woke up with a fever, so I called the restaurant at 12:06 PM--just over an hour after they opened--to cancel. The person I spoke with was understanding, and it seemed like everything was taken care of. However, at 5:29 PM, I received a call from Nick's saying we hadn't canceled. I explained we had called earlier and shared the reason. I also confirmed that we wouldn't be charged under the circumstances. To my surprise, the hostess told me we would still be charged $10 per person because of their 24-hour cancellation policy. I calmly reiterated that this was an unexpected illness with a young child and certainly not a no-show or change of plans. Still, I was met with a cold, unsympathetic tone and the same policy response. Wanting to resolve this in person, I walked down to the restaurant (we live in walking distance) and spoke with the manager--only to be told the same thing again. Our 18-month-old got sick, and it was clear we weren't trying to skirt responsibility or inconvenience anyone. It was disappointing to be treated so rigidly, especially after being loyal patrons for a decade. To charge a fee in a situation like this felt needlessly harsh and frankly, a bit heartless. This experience left a really bad taste in our mouths. It's disheartening when a place you've supported for years prioritizes a fee over decency and empathy.

Yelp
Enjoyed dining here. Had reservations. Chose to sit outdoors. Started with a cocktail, a jalapeño watermelon margarita. Delicious. I ordered the Cioppino. I knew it came with a round loaf of garlic, butter sourdough on the side. One of the best Cioppinos I've eaten in a long time. The bread was so good, I had to eat the entire thing. Even though I was full, I ordered the butter cake for dessert. So yummy. It comes topped with fruit and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The service was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Nick's is one of the best restaurants in Manhattan Beach. This restaurant offers a very nice selection of high-quality dishes. My favorite, and the one I have pretty much every time I come in, is their cioppino. It is really-really good. Nick's has both indoor dining as well as patio dining. Personally, I always enjoy sitting out on the patio. Rain or shine, it's always a great place to enjoy a meal. This being said, they also do have a very nice interior dinning space for those who want to be more enclosed. Plus, they also have a good bar area. The design of this restaurant verges on the old school leading to a very nice and classic dining experience. The staff are always very friendly and helpful for anything you may need. Overall, if you're looking a great meal in Manhattan Beach, this restaurant is a great choice.

Yelp
I picked this spot out at Metlox in Manhattan Beach to continue celebrating my birthday. I had an amazing time. The waiter was very attentive and helpful. My food came out absolutely amazing. I could not ask for more. The restaurant vibes were very friendly. A lot of professionals in the area parking was not bad at all it is underground if you choose not to park on the street. Play me a restaurant to choose from but Nick's hit the spot for me. 10/10
google avatar

Adeeva M.

Yelp
This restaurant is simply amazing! I easily found street parking which is metered but it was complementary parking since it's the holiday season. There's also an underground lot they can be accessed for parking as well. I decided on a glass of the Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon which was excellent. I ordered the salmon dish for my entree and LOVED IT! The salmon was cooked to perfection and the sauce it comes with balanced it out so well. The mashed potatoes were amazing as well. The spinach was interesting because it came with almonds, not bad but not my preference. Overall I would definitely come back here for a nice dinner out! The service was great and the restaurant was beautiful and elegant (patio seating as well).

Yelp
Provender: this is an upscale surf and turf restaurant in the Manhattan Beach area. They offer a wide variety of food from burgers to seafood. I ordered the ribeye sandwich and it was great. The French onion soup was also delicious. Prices: reasonable for the area and the coastal ambiance. Parking: the restaurant is in an open shopping area that has an underground parking lot. 1.5 hours will run you about $3. People: fun for all. Perks: they offer indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor seating has heat lamps. Service was attentive.

Mandy A.

Yelp
We were in the neighborhood, and it was our first time, we ordered steak and seafood soup. The steak came with baked potato, the decoration was really nice, it tasted good. The soup was also good, it came with a bread. We enjoyed our food, definitely try again.

Yelp
Nick's is located in the Metlox plaza and is a very nice place for brunch. I walked in with a friend and couldn't decide between their Bistro Plate and Blackened Fish Sandwich. Thankfully, our server Kyla was well-versed in the menu, and I went with her recommendation of the Bistro Plate. When the Bistro Plate arrived, I was nervous to dig in because of a previous bad experience with filet mignon. I'm not quite the meat enthusiast and went with medium-rare, and oh did it not disappoint! The filet mignon was seasoned well with salt and pepper as well as additional ingredients that provided a hint of sweet. Their unique mix of ingredients was perfect for a petite afternoon meal. Moving on from the filet mignon, I enjoyed their bistro salad, a light toss of greens in a sweet vinaigrette. The soup of the day was a creamy textured lentil which exceeded any expectations that I ever had of lentil soup - can't quite call it cream of tomato, but it was delicious! What was most outstanding was Kyla's impeccable service and attention in keeping our waters topped off at all times. For reference, I cleared maybe 5 cups in the 45 minutes that I was there. Thank you for an amazing brunch!

Yelp
Went to Nick's in Newport and was in the LA area. It was just as good, but my cioppino was a little salty. Our server was a little absent towards the end of the night and there were about 3 people trying to close us out. The aged steak was meh, def trying something else when we come back.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
Always the best! We eat here often and it's always the same- perfect! My fav is the Sea Bass and the Chicken Piccata and we always get the Deviled Eggs! Great spot. Friendly staff. Always a great choice!
google avatar

Deidre B.

Yelp
First off, I love Nick's! But this location was not my favorite. The food was great; we ordered shrimp tortillas, devil eggs, calamari, asparagus, and the bistro plate. The drinks weren't that good. It was a slow night and the server was horrible! From start to beginning she seemed annoyed! I recommend coming to Nick's but not this location. I recommend the one on 2nd. We flew in from Seattle and came straight here; over all the only thing we enjoyed was the food.
google avatar

Lindsay C.

Yelp
So good! I loved the area and the square it was in felt cozy and the warmers kept us warm on the patio. The rib eye sandwich was to die for and everyone else in my party agreed theirs was just as good. Highly recommend the steak sandwich and whatever specials they have that day!
google avatar

Dada V.

Yelp
Finally, a restaurant that gets it right! The martinis are actually a proper size--none of those overpriced thimble-sized drinks. My friends and I have pretty much stopped going to places that serve tiny martinis, so finding a spot that respects the cocktail game is a win. The food was excellent--flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully plated. Service was perfect: friendly, attentive, and on point. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Eddie D.

Yelp
One of our favorite spots! The service is always on point, and you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Some of our favorites include the Tuna Tartare for starters--sashimi-grade tuna, avocado, crispy wonton chips, and a delicious aioli sauce. The Cioppino with shrimp, clams, mussels, and salmon in their delightful broth with sourdough bread is amazing. The Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass just melts in your mouth. If they have any more medium-rare prime rib sandwiches on a brioche bun served with au jus, it's a must-try! Also, the classic cheeseburger, medium-rare, is juicy and delicious! And make sure you save room for the warm butter cake served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! It's one of the best I've ever tried! We also used to love their charcuterie board, with a variety of meats, cheeses, nuts, and fruits, as well as their delectable complimentary warm bar nuts. Unfortunately, both are no longer available on the menu.

Yelp
Nick's Butter Cake is a part of my soul at this point. When anyone asks me anything about dessert, my mind immediately runs to Nick's Butter Cake. When you speak boxing, you speak Floyd Mayweather. When you speak dessert, you speak Nick's Butter Cake. I'll get back to the butter cake but let me back track. This review will be like the Ghandi movie. Came here with my parents and girlfriend, as it was our first sit down meal just the 4 of us. My parents were lowkey nervous because it was my first time bringing someone home in like 10 years (red flag ik) so they picked Nick's as it is the perfect spot to show you have great taste without doing too much. Honestly a great first date spot when I think about it. This was kind of a first date in a sense... We sat down and vibes were up off rip, the wifey and I ordered espresso martinis and Big Steve (dad) ordered a whiskey ginger ale because he is beast. Nanc got a glass of champagne cuz she's different. The vet move here is to start with the shrimp taquitos, as they are a dish unique to Nick's but delicious. Jumbo blackened shrimp wrapped in a fried tortilla with some avocado and a little chipotle. Can't miss. For mains, I got my usual, the blackened fish sandwich. It's just so perfect... I mean I get it without tartar sauce because it's a little too much for my tummy, but you do you. Imma do me. I also love eating with my mom because she eats like a mouse and I get half of her kale and quinoa salad with salmon on top. The salad has grapes in it which is such an underrated touch, it's one of my favorite salads on the planet tbh. Now, it was time for the main event. We had been hyping this Butter Cake up to wifey for the past 12 hours straight, but honestly I wasn't worried because it's that good. It's essentially a warm butter cake with a crystallized firm outside that is almost like a cookie, and a warm doughy cake-like inside, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top that is slightly melted due to the warmness of the cake, and a raspberry compote to finish the job. Job finished. When it was approaching the table, I heard a church choir belting "HE'S DONE MIRACLES ON ME......." One by one around the table you hear some form of "MMMMMMMM" or "Oh my god" matched with a furrowed brow and a big soft smile to signify pure joy. The warmness of the cake paired with the coldness of the ice cream, brought together by the raspberry compote is a trifecta that I can't help but compare to Jordan, Magic, and Bird running the floor for the 92 dream team. The wifey loved the parents, and the parents loved the wifey. One can't help but wonder if it was the shared love of Nick's Butter Cake......GOD DID! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Yelp
I came here with my work manager and made a reservation here for my team from work to celebrate 3 March babies. We asked if we could be seated outdoors for our reservation. When the day of reservation came and our party arrived, somehow the host was gonna seat us indoors to which I had to remind them of our request. Luckily they were able to accomodate us. We got 2 appetizers: baked deviled eggs, and tuna tartare with chips. The baked deviled eggs were breaded on the outside and baked--it was so scrumptious and didn't taste oily at all! The tuna tartare was also delicious and was enough to share between all 5 of us. For my entree I got the buttermilk chicken plate that comes with a biscuit and white gravy, plus some potato wedges. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was full throughout the day. Again, I didn't feel like the chicken was greasy and was cooked perfectly. My cocktail drink of choice was the spicy watermelon margarita, which was on par for the spring weather. We got 2 desserts: the butter cake and hot fudge sundae. I was blown away by how good the butter cake was!! Everyone loved it here. They even gave each of us a signed birthday card, a special touch on top of the great customer service. A wonderful place to dine and celebrate!!

Lovely restaurant. They have a patio for when the weather is good. Enjoyed dinner with my family. I loved the shrimp appetizer, the fried chicken with gravy, mashed potato's and a biscuit. I tried my dad's bbq ribs. Not my favorite bbq sauce but the ribs were cooked to perfection. The desserts were really sweet...but I like it like that. The service was great and I even got a happy birthday card signed by the servers. All in all we were happy and I look forward to trying other dishes next time.

Yelp
When visiting any of the Nick's restaurants, you cannot go wrong with their food and service most times. At their restaurants there is always something for everyone- their menus feature salads, steak, fish, and drinks galore! This is a great place to go for a family or a business dinner! Just make reservations on Thursday-Sunday, as the restaurant is small and gets busy. Even the bar is busy on the weekends in Manhattan beach! We started our dining at the bar as we waited for some friends. We arrived at the bar at approximately 5pm on a Friday, and we were greeted right away from the bartenders. The bartenders are very good at making drinks just the way you like! The martinis and specialty drinks are spot on. Plus the wine list is nice is well! By 5:30pm in August on a Friday, the bar was packed! After some refreshments we proceeded to the restaurant for dinner! The restaurant features the bar, indoor and patio seating facing the courtyard. Outside is super causal, but fun to watch families playing in the courtyard during a nice day. We were promptly greeted by our waiter. We ordered several appetizers that include the fried asparagus and calamari. Both appetizers were good! We then had Cesar salads- the dressing was good- I think the only hiccup for the salad- was it featured only one lonely tomato. Why just add one tomato- perhaps to add some color? After salad, we had our main course- we ordered the center cut filet- the filet was ok- it was not very tender......but came with a twice baked potato- that was not as good as it usually was for some reason....it seemed like it was sitting for awhile. The best part of the meal- the star of the show was dessert- we had their signature cake- the warm butter cake. The warm butter cake is ohhhhhhhhh so good and never disappoints- and it comes with fresh berry compote. As for parking- there is street parking with meters. Even better is the underground parking lot where you can take an escalator or elevator up. There is a fee for the underground parking but much better than searching for street parking. Enjoy!

Yelp
Wish I had come here sooner! Came here early for Sunday dinner. Started out with the Lilikoi mai tai and asparagus fries. I usually sip my drink slowly, but this mai tai was soo good it was gone before the entrees came. Asparagus fries also came out piping hot and were delicious. I ordered the bistro combo, and the portion was just right and my filet was cooked perfectly medium rare. Will definitely be back for more, especially the mai tai. Service was also friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Be aware they no longer have any breakfast foods on their Brunch menu....really Lunch menu. Why open at 10am, if you're serving only lunch foods. We arrived at 10am per our reservation and the staff seemed harried and grumpy. This is not the Nick's I've loved over the years.

Yelp
Service: our first waiter was definitely judging my family. Thankfully we had switched tables but our new server, although friendly, was not skillful and made some errors. Food: not worth it! At least the ones we had ordered were not good. Cioppino, shrimp appetizer and fried chicken. I would come back just for the butter cake and a glass of wine! Butter cake is very sweet! So you'll need that bitterness to balance it out Ambiance: it's very sophisticated yet laid back vibe. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Yelp
I love the vibe here. It's located at the mall so there's plenty of free parking. It's next to a cute little court yard so if you're waiting to be seated it quite relaxing outside. When you arrive you get a complimentary glass of champagne while you wait to be seated. If you have reservations which i recommend but are not required, the wait is never long. The ambiance is indoor yet outdoor with its open floor plan. They have seats off in the cut, which means slightly away from others...... if you're feeling romantic. The steaks are fabulous and they have a nice variety. The quality, flavor, and cut of their steaks, will leave you wanting more. They have great service. The people there do their best to make your dining experience a memorable one. Always excellent service. . A must try if you're a steak lover.

Yelp
Checked out the reviews and decided to try it out for my son's birthday dinner. This place is nestled in a small center right by the beach. The service was a bit slow when we got seated but a waitress came by, that wasn't assigned to my table, and was able to change my review about the service. We tried the baby back ribs with shrimp taquitos (very delicious). The espresso martini and lemon drop was also very tasty. We decided to get the warm butter cake for dessert. Overall great experience, great service and nice ambiance. And what tops the cake is the staff giving my son a birthday card with staff signatures. Definitely coming back to try other meals on the menu.

Yelp
TLDR: excellent service + order the Chicken Picatta! Came to Nick's for a Saturday lunch for the first time; hosts were very friendly and attentive. We waited for about 20 minutes, and servers came quick to take our food/drinks. We started with the Asparagus fries. They were good, not sure if I would order them again (probably would be better with some ranch on the side?). However, the Chicken Picatta was: chef's kiss. The mashed potatoes were done perfectly, the salad was tossed well, and the chicken was tender. It was a great dish! I even loved how they included the lemon (deserved its own photo). We got to sit outside and I'm glad we did because it was perfect it weather outside. Thank you for such a pleasant lunch!

Yelp
Very attentive and quick service. Food was also very fresh and came out promptly. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to simply dine on a whim in Manhattan beach.

Yelp
My fave restaurant ever!! My hubby knows where to take me when I need smtg GOOD! My favorites are the chicken piccata, and asparagus fries. Their salad is amazing as well. Service is very good too. My only complaint is the music, for some reason we don't enjoy it, besides the fact is usually quite loud. My kids comment on this as well, so it's not just me

Yelp
Came here with a group of family and friends and had a nice experience here. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and seated right away. They have clam chow soup but apparently they put bacon in it, so it was a definite NO for me! I ordered the filet which was cooked to perfection! The drinks were yummy and refreshing. The butter cake was nice and warm with the perfect scoop of ice cream. Overall our experience was excellent and will definitely recommend!

Yelp
I went to Nick's on a Tuesday night and it wasn't too crowded! The only thing is parking which can be tricky. There are a couple of parking structures and street parking nearby. The server was very kind and helpful. I got the sea bass which came with whipped potatoes and spinach. The potatoes were so buttery and probably my favorite part art of the dish. We also got the calamari and asparagus fries to share. Both were great appetizers. My boyfriend got the original ribeye melt which was also really good! Definitely recommend both those dishes.
