Struggling Filipino Restaurants Will Feed Bay Area Health Care Workers and Others in Need - Eater SF

"Nick’s on Mission is a pioneering vegan Filipino restaurant located in San Francisco’s Filipino Cultural Heritage District. Despite its initial success, the restaurant had to lay off its staff and shut down due to the coronavirus shutdown. It faced significant financial challenges, including a drastic drop in revenue and inability to cover payroll and rent. The restaurant is now part of the Filipinos Feed the Frontlines initiative, providing meals to local hospitals and vulnerable people in the community." - Luke Tsai

Nick’s on Mission, a New Vegan Filipino Restaurant, Serves Filipino Favorites in SoMa - Eater SF

"A new restaurant opened in San Francisco’s Filipino Cultural Heritage District today, and while its turo turo style should be familiar to fans of that culture’s foods, one aspect of the restaurant might raise eyebrows: Every one of its traditional dishes is completely plant-based." - Eve Batey

Great vegan breakfast or lunch place. To-go boxes of either Filipino food or pancakes / American breakfast food. Get two dishes and rice, sit in or take out. Lots of mock meat, including seitan beef, pork and bacon, and tofu scramble. Lovely to see more vegan options in SoMa!

Very tasty and very fast. Delicious vegan food! Loved that we could get a combo to taste many items. Minimal seating, but we ate by the window and people watched :)

I am not vegan but my friend is and I'm so glad because otherwise I probably wouldn't have chosen to come here on my own. So happy that we did because this is some of the best Filipino food I've ever had. We both got the combo with Tocino and Thai "Beef" with pancit as the side. I also got an order of lumpia. We could not stop exclaiming over how delicious the food was. I didn't miss meat for a single moment. Everything was so delicious and the portion size was really good. Highly recommended for vegans and meat eaters alike!

Tasty vegan food, the sauces have really good flavour. They give you a discount if you bring your own food container, how cool is that!

Tasty. Far service. I got a three-item plate and a half-order of lumpia and barely finished everything. Really enjoyed it, looking forward to coming back and trying out the breakfast.
