Google
The best chicken parmesan subs, highly recommend. Steak and egg or steak and cheese subs never disappoint. French fries are always served hot. Great group of people always friendly and accommodating. Consistently excellent

David C.

Google
One of my favorite sub shops. Really clean, everyone is friendly, order always ready earlier than expected. Turkey and to roast beef are both great, steak fries just the way I like them.

Eric S.

Google
It amazes me that this place has a 4.1 star rating. I personally owned a food business and I am very picky. Every single thing that they cranked out smelt amazing and looked the same. I had the roast beef sandwich it was top notch. Don't let these cheap people leaving bad reviews change your mind from trying this place. Everybody was super friendly.

Aryane P.

Google
I got stuffed potato and it was simply amazing, the flavor felt like something else, and for the price, I definitely recommend.

Google
Realized recently that I hadn't had a calzone in many years, so I ordered one. Took the box home, and found that a) there was no sauce for dipping, b) it wasn't a folded pizza crust -- it was a full pizza with another pizza crust upside-down on top of it. Maybe this is a new way of doing calzones, but it was way more than I wanted, and besides, it was the wrong shape. (It matters.) And finally, c) waaay too much cheese. Every mouthful took forever to chew. Made worse because remember 'a'? There was no sauce.

Jessica S.

Google
Nick place offered a delicious bbq pizza. The barbecue chicken was very flavorable with soft crust. I was disappointed with burt and over crispy fries. I couldnt even eat all of them. The service is really nice too.

ronnie W.

Google
Wanted to love this place. Pretty sure the beef is microwaved. You be the judge. Gross.

Colin M.

Google
Stopped in yesterday afternoon for a quick take out. Super Beef w/cheese & sauce and a large greek salad w/tuna. Both were out of this world good, and both were large enough for two meals!

Yelp
Delicious pizza, and subs. Not too saucy. Friendly counter staff. They also recently renovated their eating area.

Yelp
Sadly, good things do not last forever. We have been eating Nick's Place's chicken kebab salad for 28 years, since we moved to the area. Initially, we used to walk to it, in Lexington, but then moved to Cambridge and later to Winchester. After trying the chicken kebabs salads in Cambridge and Winchester/Woburn, we found that the quality if Nick's Salads deserved the 20 minutes drive. So we continued being Nick's customers ordering takeout, not as often as when we lived nearby, but it is still our favorite takeout place. Today, we had an unpleasant surprise: 1. The quality if the chicken was subpar, still better than most places, but not Nick's quality; 2. The new bread is not as bad as the pita they sell at the supermarket, but still terrible. We learned that Nick sold and perhaps the new owners do not care if foodies like us keep going there or not. I am sad. Perhaps the new owners will rethink their strategy as I would not mind paying a little more to keep the previous level quality. NOTE: The vegetables on the salad are still very very fresh and delicious.

Evelyn G.

Yelp
$26 for a small two topping pizza. I called after reviewing my charge and exceptionally rude! Small pepper and onion pizza = $26! Kind of thought something was up when the guy in front of me was complaining he "got hosed". Nicks place was the place that use to donate pizza's to local High School sports team. New owners are greed mongers! $2.77 for a lunchbox size bag of chips.

John W.

Yelp
Nick's has a special on their electronic menu: 2 slices cheese pizza + 20 oz soda for $6.00 + tax - On Sept 10 I ordered this but cashier tried to charge me $7.40 because specials were not in cash register; of course there was no manager. This is false advertising. I left and went elsewhere

Meghan Y.

Yelp
Got a chicken cutlet wrap with honey mustard... Food was ready when I got there to pick it up. Very good! Ill be coming back for sure.

Yelp
I ordered for the first time last night. It took 2 hours for my food to be delivered, despite an initial 45-55 minute estimate. When I called after 75 minutes, I was assured the driver would be there in 5-10 minutes (which was clearly a lie). When the food arrived it was cold and congealed. The pizza was still ok, but the subs weren't great--nobody wants a cold and soggy chicken parm sandwich. We won't be ordering again.

Michelle A.

Yelp
If I could give a negative star I would. We waited over 2 hours for delivery and cold pizza. I called 2xs and both times they said "its on its way 5 min" which was not true. I have young kids that needed to eat and arriving at 8:40 at night is unacceptable and a disgrace. The kids barely touched the pizza because they were ready for bed. Not the first time this happened and no apologies or explanation of why they weren't telling the truth about delivery time. I also was on hold for 15min but I think they just forgot I was there because I could hear them talking. Stay away if you need and won't food promptly and when promised

Debi B.

Yelp
Absolutely the best pizza place around. The staff is awesome and so nice. This is our new "go-to" takeaway place.

Gail S.

Yelp
Quick for a busy place. Greek salad with grilled chicken is great. Enough for 2. Pizza is pretty good-spinach.

Yelp
Nick's Place has been around for many years which is a credit to their consistent service and value. Another positive sign is that they continue to draw a steady business not only weekends, but weeknight plus a good lunch business. Specifically I am reviewing the Lexington location, but they also have a store in Belmont. My go to is the grilled chicken Caesar salad which as mentioned before is always consistent. Other staples include the chicken fingers, onion rings, and french fries which come in various sizes and are always golden brown and hot. The roast beef is excellent serviced on an onion roll with choice of toppings and sauces too. Even the family sized Italian dishes are perfect for catered outings and the big game. Meatballs, pasta, lasagna, and salads are great choices. Try Nick's when you need a quick bite and want to keep it open the somewhat healthy side or you feel like splurging on a cheat meal, or for the big family event.

Yelp
Pretty frustrated at the moment with this place. I placed my order through Grub hub, my friend wanted lots of meat on her sandwich so we clicked all the meats available- each extra meat cost $0.00 so we said, "why not?!" 20 minutes after placing the order I received a phone call saying that my bill was gonna be really large because of all the extra meat. I told the man that if they advertise something they should actually do it. He kept telling me it was going to be a lot of money so I just said forget it and to not put the extra meat. Like it's not a big deal- not mad about the meat- but the man was rude and they shouldn't post something on their site if they don't do it.

Yelp
Good to spot for a chicken kabob sandwich. Love the homemade Greek dressing. Always friendly great for take out.

Mike A.

Yelp
Terrible. I ordered the same thing 3 times in a row and the messed it up each time. Steak and cheese with onions peppers and hot sauce. First time they put mushrooms on it. Second time no cheese. Third time hot peppers and no hot sauce.
google avatar

Beth L.

Yelp
Two words: Thanksgiving Sandwich Seriously, this is an exceptional sandwich with real turkey, cranberry sauce and tasty stuffing on a not too crusty ciabatta. It temporarily alleviated my gloom about missing family Thanksgiving this year. Highly recommended. My kids also give the chicken fingers, cheese sticks and fries a big thumbs up. But get the Thanksgiving Sandwich, you won't regret it.
google avatar

chris a.

Yelp
Had the cheese pizza and was impressed. Interesting flakey crust, which I'm told is Greek style. Delicious and affordable!

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Food is good. But tried to order for pickup 3 times in last 2 weeks. First time i did call a bit late at 9:35 and a little girl answered and said they were closed. Called a week later at 9:30 and said they were closed. Last time called at 9:15 and kid said grills off They close at 9:30. Pro should change your online hours from 10pm to 9:15pm then.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
I discovered this place on Friday and had to come back today (Monday) for more. As soon as I've walked in I've been greeted by friendly staff and great smells. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. Last week I got the fish and chips and the fish was delicious. Today I got the chicken fingers and fries. The fingers are you typical frozen one dropped in a fryer but they were delicious. The bbq sauce on the side was a thick sauce and tasty. Last week I had the steak fries which were awesome and today I got more traditional type, not as good but good. The price for what you get makes this a place I will be visiting often!

LaiSun K.

Yelp
They make decent pizzas and a huge variety of subs and sandwiches. This place is a takeout place so seats are limited and they get really busy especially at dinner time so order in advance. The good thing about them is that they are open later than most restaurant around here. I get my dinner here when I have no time to cook. Our usual order is the mixed grill salad which is huge, big enough to share amongst two people. Our other favorites are fried haddock and the club sandwich. The people who run and work here are all great folks so I come back time and time again to show my support.
google avatar

Jenni F.

Yelp
Really good roast beef sandwiches and steak fries. Buffalo fingers could use more seasoning/Buffalo sauce and the Greek salad would be better if they did not throw hot chicken on top -foil on side. Plenty of parking and an extensive menu

Asa V.

Yelp
I placed an order at 4:45 pm today. I received the order at 6:45 pm after two hours! We live within walking distance from this restaurant. The food was cold and messy. The pizza was dry and cold so the kids didn't even eat it. It went right into trash. My "fish filet dinner" was just a tiny filet in a sandwich put in a container. All the salad and rice had been mixed up. I called the restaurant about this. They said that the sandwich is the "dinner". Keep in mind that they have a separate category for sandwiches, so basically this should not have been a sandwich. I did not receive a single apologized for the delay or for the quality of food from this restaurant. We are taking our business elsewhere and I recommend that you do the same. There are so many better restaurants in town.

Laura A.

Yelp
Great Greek style pizza and consistently good. It is a little greasy, but sometimes that is just what we need! The customer service is very good and this is a weekly go-to for pizza, pasta, salad, and the occasional chicken or eggplant Parmesan. Yum!

Treece M.

Yelp
This place used to be great until recently, there really skimping on there plates, as well as there dessert calzones. We used to order at least twice a week from here but now maybe once a month. I tried there dessert calzone months ago and it was delicious, filled with Nutella, now I ordered it and it was paper thin like eating hard cardboard with no filling. I get there trying to save money but it would be wise to make decent size portions instead of losing customers.

Mariam E.

Yelp
Pizza is good, classic greek style. Prices are high, but expected in the Lexington area. Kinda irritated cause I came thirty minutes late for a pizza (because I was at work) and they ended up straight up giving my pizza to another customer...so I had to wait for another one to be made (25 minutes wasted). They gave me a free soda which was something I guess. This has never happened to me since then, but I was pretty surprised and honestly kind of turns me off from eating there.

James K.

Yelp
Overall I'm giving the pizza I got 5/10 not great, the sauce was too sweet and the crust wasn't great either it felt over cooked. It's okay pizza but I probably wouldn't order it again.
google avatar

Wei W.

Yelp
Need wings or a greasy pizza to soothe the hangover? Well, Nick's place is your best bet, especially if you live in the area. While the food comes in massive quantities and is pretty good by sub/pizza shop standards, I wouldn't recommend eating inside the store. Like other reviewers, I noticed that the floor is perpetually sticky, food is not cleaned out from under the booths and in between condiment dispensers, and in the summer, the AC doesn't work all that well so temperature is pushing 100 degrees. Oh, if you're looking for customer service, you won't find it here, either. The workers tend to be sullen and the cashiers rarely acknowledge your presence, even as they're taking your order. A lot can be made better with a smile. Takeout or delivery is the way to go.
google avatar

Amyn G.

Yelp
Food is nothing to write home about but edible. Delivery is very slow. Orders are typically thirty to forty five minute delayed and they seem to not have a way to track delivery drivers (call them, maybe?!) Really wanted to make this our go to place but unfortunately it will not be.

David M.

Yelp
I placed an order at Nick's place at 8:24pm. They confirmed the order and delivery through Slice. They said it would be delayed until 9:25-9:35. Ok. Well that came and went. No delivery. No answer at Nicks. Slice did answer my texts and tried to intervene, but Nicks place up and left at whatever time and disregarded the order and didnt twell myself or slice. I would NEVER order from this place again. Nick's place? How bout Mis-placed?? Thats the better name for this place.
google avatar

Sabrina V.

Yelp
First time in the area , stopped to grab a bite to eat was literally waiting for a small plain pizza for 45 minutes and fries while everyone that got there after me was getting their food before me , not worth the money or my time.

Maggie M.

Yelp
I want to like Nick's because it came well recommended from a friend but after two poor takeout experiences, the second one just tonight, I have to share. I ordered a Greek salad with chicken shish kebob to share with my husband. When we divided it on two dishes at home there was ONE olive, ONE thin slice of pepper and two small cherry tomatoes--the rest was lettuce. To their credit there was an ample amount of good chicken, but the salad itself was VERY disappointing--no where near what a Greek Salad should be. Come on, Nick's--please do better than this! It was pitiful. As far as service, it was also lacking. The manager was rude and despite waiting in plain sight for our order, after 20 minutes we had to inquire about it and, sure enough, it had been sitting on the shelf. We will not be coming back for a third time.
google avatar

Beth H.

Yelp
Best sausage and mushroom pizza I've had in a long time! Their grilled chicken Greek salads are also wonderful and abundant. A great choice of food and a friendly staff. We'll be back!

Charles S.

Yelp
Good place to eat but don't get delivery during cold month. Again, received cold calzone because regardless how cold it is ... " for quick in and out deliveries we don't use the pouch " .. as I was told by the driver holding the calzone in front of my door. Called to complain and was told.. " it just came out of the oven how can it be cold " .. well, maybe using a pouch on a 35° and windy day and, ... you would not get that question ...

Yelp
I went to try Nick's Place for the first time this evening. Called to place an order, a fairly rude woman answered and asked me to hold on. The phone was clearly put down on the counter and then, after I waited for a good five minutes for them to pick the phone back up, I was hung up on.
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
First time eating here and it was ok. Went during lunch time which is not a good thing to do. There's not a whole lot of seating. The food was ok. The pizza wasn't bad, I've had worse and better. The chicken kabob salad was good. Staff was friendly but seemed really rushed but again it was the lunch rush. Maybe I'll try it again at a different time and see.

Sam S.

Yelp
Nick's has a a generous roast beef sub filled with lean, rare beef. Very good. Sandwiches are OK. Strange "king hot dog", but OK, too.

Lucy L.

Yelp
I ordered a "Large Margarita Pizza" which was described on the menu as having "Fresh mozarella, fresh basil, garlic, sliced tomato, olive oil". This was the worst pizza I've had! No garlic, no tomato, no olive oil... only a bad crust with a bit of sauce with some cheese. I definitely will not go back!
google avatar

Susan S.

Yelp
I want to like you more Nick's. I've been trying to like you more for years. This traditional type pizza/sub shop is so convenient and close to home, but really misses the mark for me. I am honestly surprised at the amount of five star reviews from fellow Yelpers. Am I missing something? Full disclosure - I have never tried their roast beef. Perhaps this is the key to finding happiness at Nick's. I think their pizza is just okay, but it seems to have a lot of fans. In the pizza's defense, it is Greek style and I am thin crust Italian all the way. All matters of food aside, it has never been a real friendly place and I always feel a little bit intimidated by some of the curt stares and lack of greetings when I walk in. Not saying everyone here is unfriendly, but they tend to hire a majority of young employees and, to put it nicely, their customer service skills are only just beginning to blossom. What I do like at Nick's: Grilled chicken kabobs (only not so much the salad they sit on top of), cheeseburger and fries (thin and deliciously greasy beef patty accompanied by shoestring style fries), and their chicken fingers. Most of the subs I have tried I find just average at best including the chicken parm and the steak and cheese. My parents and I grabbed a quick dinner here yesterday after a long day of Christmas shopping. Cheat day was Saturday so I opted for the chicken kabob salad in attempt to be a bit more healthy. Although I'm not sure lettuce smothered by globs of feta cheese qualifies as healthy? Per usual the chicken was very good and a generous portion of it was piled on top of the salad. Underneath the chicken, however, is just a big clump of iceberg lettuce with one slice of cucumber and one cherry tomato. Oh and I cannot forget the two little black olives hiding out in there too. The feta cheese helps make the iceberg lettuce a little less boring, but yet it is still lettuce overload. My dad ordered an Italian cold cut sub, but was pretty disappointed. He said it was missing most of the meats typical to a true Italian sub and tasted more like an American. I tried some of it and agreed it was without some key italian sub components most importantly the salami. I will continue to try and like you more Nick's and will remember to try that roast beef in the near future.

Alessandra B.

Yelp
I am a frequent visitor to the Spa next door (AB FAB) and on the recommendation of their front desk person I thought I would give Nick's place a try. I ordered their Chicken Kabob Salad and a Pasta to go for my hungry son. Friendly and fast service? Check. Good value? Check. Huge selection? Check. Generous portion size? Check. Fresh and Delicious Food? Check. Check. Check! The Chicken Kabob had large pieces of succulent, juicy, and well seasoned chicken with crispy fresh salad, and my son devoured his Pasta and said it was better than home made! Which is great because cooking pasta in the hot summer weather is not my favorite thing to do, also the Pasta was on 50% off! Very happy to have finally tried this tasty and convenient (free and easy parking) local restaurant. They are open late and deliver too which is great. I'm sure my son will soon have them on speed dial!

Yelp
I first was introduced to Nick's place when we moved about 3 blocks away 20 years ago. Since then I have been hooked on their Chicken Kabob salad. After moving to the next town over, we started to look for local comparables. We still find ourselves going out of our way, or after work to stop by Nick's and pick up a Kabob Salad. We have not found another place that comes close to Nick's Kabob salad. Nick has his little secret that makes his salad unique. He has been able to maintain the quality, freshness and taste of his Chicken Kabob salad. I highly recommend it. P.S. Their pizzas and stake subs are also very good.
google avatar

R W.

Yelp
If I didn't have a microwave I'd never get delivery. 100% of the time the god is delivered cold. However, the food is very good. Half the time the order is wrong but hey I found our I like Mac & cheese bites thanks to another incorrect order. Here's the deal if you want good take out pick your food up at Nicks. Nick's is the only place near Arlington Heights or this side of Lexington worth your money.
google avatar

Scratchie S.

Yelp
I've avoided this place for years after discovering (the hard way) that they'll put condiments on your sandwich that you didn't ask for. Yesterday, I was having a hankering for a classic Boston-area roast beef sandwich, so I figured I'd give them another try. I started off with a slice of pizza, which was dry and tasteless. I followed that up with a roast beef sandwich, which was one of the most disappointing I've ever had in this area. The beef wasn't warm, and it was so lumpy that several times, I found it impossible to bite through and wound up pulling a huge lump out of the middle of the sandwich with my teeth. Either they're using a cheaper cut of beef than every other roast beef joint on the North Shore, or they're not cutting it as thinly. Either way, I won't bother going back to this place.
google avatar

Cambridge chris B.

Yelp
Sad to say, but this place was filthy, uninviting, SLOW service, and my food wasn't good. The dirty floors and tables should have been a sign to turn tail. Marginally friendly staff took forever to get my food ready. I was the only person there. My hot roast beef sandwich was barely above cold. Meat was gamey. Fries were Ore-Ida, but at least they were piping hot. I will not return. You should not either. Plenty of other options down the street.

Gerald B.

Yelp
Ordered Two slices. One Cheese, One Cheese Steak. First glance the slices looked pretty small. I went for the Cheese Steak first and for the amount of grease there was on this slice, it didn't provide much flavor. The meat tasted dry and somewhat sweet. I was looking for Steak that tasted more like a Steak and Cheese Sub. After this slice I ate the Plain Cheese. It was a tad on the greasy side and although the cheese had the right texture and was sharp tasting enough, the slice altogether didn't have that restaurant level taste, it tasted closer to freezer pizza. On both of the slices, the sauce looked like it taken straight from the can and lacked any personality with any spices or added ingredients. The dough also lacked any complexity and tasted like flour. Again the best way to describe is just a step above freezer food. I'm giving 3 star average since the place looked pretty clean and the staff was friendly and pretty fast with the order. 2 Stars for the food 4 Stars on the service 3 Stars for the price

Corydon S.

Yelp
The first time I came in here the guy behind the counter said they were closed, even though it was not late, the lights were on, and the door was open. I was not thrilled with that, but I figured and come back and see if they were open this time. I got a burger with nothing else. While my friend and I waited I couldn't help but notice COPS (classy) was on the TV by the door and some guy with a weird mullet was being arrested, who knows for what but that hair was a major violation. My burger was well cooked and fairly tasty but was pretty average as burgers go. 3.5 stars.

Miss N.

Yelp
If I could rate this place as zero stars, I would. Ordered lunch today for delivery by phone. Turkey sub with specifically communicated condiments, but not mayo, since I can't eat it. Sub was delivered, slathered in mayo. Called back to ask to have it rectified, since the sub I had was one I physically could not eat. Got two different stories about why the wrong order was apparently "my fault" - (1) the turkey sub comes standard with mayo (though apparently not with anything else, and mind you, the menu simply says, "turkey sub"); and (2) then, from another person, it must have been communicated by phone that I wanted mayo, which is why they put it on there. Clearly, neither story matched. I was told that I could drive over to have the sub fixed, which was not a possibility, since I didn't have time sufficient in my lunch period by this point to make the ride. So I had no lunch today and went hungry, and also gave Nick's ten bucks for a sub I couldn't eat. I happen to like turkey subs, and am not new to ordering. Reputable places don't add condiments randomly to subs without asking, and they also take responsibility for their errors. Logical people who cannot ingest mayo wouldn't order it on purpose. Essentially, Nick's made a mistake, blamed me, took my money and left me with no lunch. After work, I went to D'Agostino's for the turkey sub I wanted. For two dollars more than the money I threw out the window for a lunch I couldn't have from Nick's, I got a fresh-made sub with the condiments I wanted in speedy time and with much more high-quality cold cuts. I would recommend Nick's to positively no one. Buyer beware: if they mess up your order, you'll be out your money and left with food you either can't or don't want to eat.

Yelp
This place is awesome. I've been coming here for 15+ years and I really don't think there's anything better for a quick and easy meal that tastes great. Huge menu selection! The large calzones are big enough to have leftovers for a week! Chicken and Broccoli calzone is my favorite. The Greek salad is excellent, and even better with Chicken Kabob. Feeling like something fried? They've got it all. Nice staff, keep the place clean, and always consistent in the food for as long as I've been coming here!
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch while working in the area. Got one slice of cheese and a bottle of water for $5. Slice seemed like it had been sitting under a warmer for a while; overcooked crust and dry cheese. Surprisingly the slice wasn't very warm. You probably want to opt for a full pizza or a sub to get something made-to-order. Regardless, I'm trying somewhere else next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Best burger with everything, anywhere in Greater Boston. I share the burger with my husband and we're both full. It's huge, it's a bargain, but I drive out of my way because it's a good burger. Good meat. Loads of things on the menu I have never tried. I am mainly reviewing the burger, because I found it the best and have been coming back just for that for years. We have had occasion to get the subs and so on, which are just as good a anywhere, basically, pretty good and responsibly crafted. But those burgers are the hook. If you need a quick meal for the kids, there is plenty to choose from like chicken fingers and salad.

Yelp
Food is so good! They are super quick and efficient with their service. The sweet and spicy chicken and ranch pizza is amazing! I highly recommend this place for your next pizza order!

Yelp
I just moved to CA and can't find one sub place as good as Nicks! I really all of their items - but my favorites are the steak and cheese, roast beef - super beef is unreal!!!, chicken kabob dinners fish and gyro. I am not a pizza person but their pizza is good. Thick Greek type pizza and everyone I know likes it. It's great you can get delivery but pick up is easy too as the parking lot has lots of spots. Service is good and consistent! Really one of the best places to get a sandwich in the area.
