Not being a cigar aficionado I had no real desire to venture down into Nicky Blaine's on my few visits to Indianapolis, despite my better half's affection for it. I never cared for the cigar aroma in any case. But on one recent visit a few months back, with her feeling a bit melancholy, I impulsively suggested we stop in as we were passing by. I'm really glad I did.
I've now been here a few times and I have to say, it is an amazing spot to enjoy a wide variety some great cocktails and liquors. Dark and intimate with plenty of comfortable seating, whether you prefer couches or cozy lounge chairs in a variety of configurations depending on your group size. This has the feel of an exclusive, old school club where you can imagine being a regular and spending time with your favorite companion and choice of drink.
Nicky Blaine's offers a really wide variety of signature cocktails, bourbons, scotch - you name it. I'm a fan of the Black Manhattan and the Oban 14 year single malt scotch. The Ardbeg 10 year Islay Malt is also a winner. You're sure to find something to satisfy your palate.
Yes, if cigars are your thing then this is really your place when you're in Indianapolis. I can't really speak to that personally but my girl likes a good cigar on occasion and she LOVES coming here. The cigar selection is extensive, so you won't be disappointed. And, pleasantly, I have never found the cigar odor overwhelming here. The ventilation system must be great because it really isn't intrusive for me, and what there is somehow adds to the experience.
Nicky Blaine's is now a must stop for me now when I am in town. Wonderful spot. Highly recommended!
