It's unfortunate this place never seems to be open. The pizza was pretty good the one time I actually got to try it. Sadly, it's the middle of summer and they are still "temporarily closed." They would probably do pretty well if they were open for Spring and Summer.

Google
Staff are excellent & the location is tough to beat, but what matters is the pizza... While their new pizza is better than their pizza of pre-2023, it's still just not that great compared to other options in the neighborhood. The crust is good, and the toppings are excellent but they're too spartan; without the toppings things taste a bit bland. But it feels like they're continuing to refine their recipes, so I'm hopeful things will only get better. As of Spring 2023 the non-pizza menu is still unavailable, which is unfortunate since their hoagies used to be pretty good & pretty much the only such options in Navy Yard.

We love coming here and never disappointed. Great food, good prices, and awesome views.

Google
The pizza was pretty darn good! Especially with the view that came along with it. That’s a lot of bang for your buck!

I consider the price for the beverages are so expensive for two 40$ , and i asked 1 with alcohol other one without and they gave me 2 with alcohol.

Google
I won’t be back. They added 20% gratuity to pizza by the slice. When I said no thanks, the cashier was furious, dropping the F bomb. No thanks. I went to a restaurant next door and happily paid 20% for pleasant service. I will say the waterfront is wonderful, overwhelmingly people are friendly, and most restaurants are delicious. The view is also stunning.

Google
They don’t make change because they don’t carry change but they take cash which doesn’t make sense. They claim it’s because of robberies but I do security here and have no account of robberies. Either they are lying or forcing you to tip. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re carrying cash.

Google
I ended not eating there due to the lack of customer service. They had a pepperoni pizza with jalapeños on it. My 11 year old asked for a plain pepperoni pizza. Without anyone in line the manager refused to add pepperoni to the cheese or cook a new one without jalapeños. He did offer to remove jalapeños from a precooked pizza. Doubt he’s ever tasted a pizza that has something removed and believes the taste is gone.

Yelp
First off beautiful location. I never thought I'd say this, but the Anacostia River is relaxing. By all means get a table on the deck area, and enjoy the music. My respects to the staff, as all are very friendly. They were great again, as this is where my son wants to go to. The birds love cheese! As for the food, the pizzas are decent. Chicago style thick squares. The ingredients and overall flavor are adequate. My hope is they eventually get the ability for tapped beer. The Coors Light here was meh. You can find better pizza's, but considering DC prices and taxes, the ambiance here is quite solid. For the price it works.

Yelp
I was here on a Sunday afternoon and saw plenty of parents ordering mini boxes of pizza for their little ones. Upon discovery, I found out they were ordering from Nicoletta. The classic cheese was only $8 and it was yummy. I totally recommend this spot to anyone in Navy Yard looking for something affordable to eat.

Yelp
Wanted a quick bite to eat while we explored DC. The honey chicken was good, but the sausage was disappointing- ours had no sausage and was just vegetables we actually thought we got the wrong pie and exchanged it for a pepperoni.

Yelp
Stopped after Mother's Day brunch nearby to pick up something for my husband. Quick (less than 6 min wait), fairly inexpensive (by DC standards) and super tasty. (Even a few hours later or reheated the next day). Service was friendly and kind... it was a nice but hot day and they offered me a cup of water while I waited. It's an outdoor walk up window with a few picnic tables/benches/umbrellas. Nice spot to have a quick bite and relax by the water. Very happy they have this at the navy yard waterfront.

Yelp
Don't believe the reviews or the pictures!!! I wI would give it negative 4 stars if I could. I came here because of the pictures on Yelp. LIES!!! Ordered a pepperoni pizza and I was given a breadstick reminiscent of pizza hut but worse) I feel personally insulted that someone think it's ok to serve this to the public

James F.

Yelp
The food is ok, the service is horrible. But worst of all, I always get the same thing once a week, 2 pepperoni pizzas for the kids. This week it was $12 more than usual. When I asked them, they point to a thinly sign that said they are adding a 20% gratuity to All Orders! We won't be back.

Yelp
Despite the the cost this is a great new pizza place in the Capitol Riverfront. The pies here give the other pizza spots in the Navy Yard and Capitol Riverfront a run for their money and arguably is now the best in the area. A special shout out to the chicken parmigiana sandwich, as it was fantastic and is definitely worthy if you are not in the mood for pizza. Or if you are with a group grab a pizza, sandwich, and some wings to share. A nice aspect to eating or grabbing a drink here is the outdoor space. However, like other establishments in the area, there isn't too much space to sit. Be ready to wait if there is a Nationals game or stadium event taking place.

Yelp
I'm discovering new places every day that are delivering during the pandemic, and boy was I happy to see that @nicoletta was one of them. We ordered two pies, one pepperoni and a Classica with pomodoro, mozzarella, aged parmesan, and fresh basil. Pies arrived warm, and boyyyyy were they tasty. I've been eating so much pizza lately, that I've become a little picky. I now start with the basics, pepperoni and cheese. If you can nail that, then you're probably good with other varieties. I LOVE little pepperoni cups and this pizza was full of them. The Classica was perfect, and the crust was not too thick or thin and had the right amount of chewiness. While I'm disappointed that I've never been to the brick and mortar shop, I am looking forward to ordering my way through the rest of the menu.

Yelp
This place doesn't look any different than any other place around the city, but it's a solid joint! I have had both the pizza and the chicken parm and enjoyed it! The one thing that could be better is the hours of operations, they are weird. Also the staff is a bit slow for a restaurant that is never full.

Yelp
It makes me happy to know there's good pizza finally in DC!!!I visited Nicoletta Pizzeria on May 6, 2019 during happy hour 4pm-7pm. I ordered the Calabrese Signature pizza where you get a complementary order of chicken wings that's deliciously crispy and spicy and a glass of wine for $5.00. The pizza was huge, cheesy, the crust was just right, and the toppings of the onions and fennel sausage just made my day. This was the best pizza I had outside of New York City!!!!! The staff were extremely professional, friendly, and down to earth. Not very busy! Family friendly Dog Friendly Great views of the Potomac Great Neighborhood Spot

Yelp
Place is never open and always runs out of food. Don't waste your time. Too many other good options in Navy Yard.
google avatar

Yelp
Really really good food and frozen negronis! The chicken parm sandwich was to die for and the calabrese pizza had a crispy crust and plenty of toppings. The wings were also spicy, which is hard to find in DC! (Tasted like a combo of buffalo and thai chili). A little pricey for everything but with the riverside location, it's worth it.

Chris J.

Yelp
I don't understand the good reviews this place has gotten. Nothing by the slice, 30 minutes to get a pie with one person in front of me. All cooking seems to be done via the same conveyer belt oven they had in my college cafeteria. The Pizza was bland, doughy and forgettable. Pretty much like all Pizza in DC. Also WAAAAAAY too much Parmesan. Wise Guys, All-Purpose and Oath are all much better then this and within a block.
google avatar

Bryan W.

Yelp
Loved this new addition to the boardwalk! Excited to try everything! Also I'm glad that they kept the popular Frozen Negroni drinks.

Yelp
Without counting Oath pizza and Dominoes (does anyone?) there are four spots competing for your pizza dollars in the Navy Yard area, Nicoletta is the best of them. This is not to say that Wiseguy isn't great, it is, in a by-the-slice, fast pizza sort of way. If your time is short, or if you're a New York purist, that's the way to go. However this is to say that for all the well-deserved accolades and acclaim All Purpose has garnered, there's a reason Nicoletta runs out of pizza before All Purpose does. It's just that much better. Nicoletta's crust, cheese and sauce are perfectly balanced, which isn't something either Declaration (way too much cheese, just the thought of it makes me queasy) or All Purpose (too much sauce) can say. Its crust is also substantial enough to merit the name, something Wiseguy also gets right but All Purpose seems to struggle with by making it too ethereal. As others have said, the chicken parm sandwich is also great, which is saying something because that's a concept that can go wrong very fast.

Yelp
The location of this pizzeria is great. Especially this time of year. Lots of things going on and it's a nice vibe. I was excited to try this place based off the reviews. Our group orders two pizzas. One just pepperoni and the other pizza was half sausage & mushrooms and the other half Calabrese. You can see them kneading out the dough in the next window over. I also ordered their wings. I wanted them with ranch but they only had blue cheese. Visually, the pizzas looked mouth watering. BUT all in all I was slightly disappointed. The best thing about the pizzas were the toppings. Flavorful & fresh. However, the actual crust was not great at all. It was lacking chewiness & flavor. It was hard and crunchy. Although it was thin crust, it shouldn't be like that. Not what I want out of a pizza. The wings weren't all that either. I like the sauce they were coated in.. but the chicken itself was dry. Maybe we came on a bad day. Not too sure but I'm willing to give it another try one day.

Yelp
Best pizza in navy yard! Better than wise guys and all purpose. I love the calabrese or tartufo pizzas and you have to get the frozen Negronis in the summer.
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
Really good pizza and great wings, but a little colder than I would've preferred after delivery.

Yelp
Let me tell you, Nicoletta Pizzeria was impressive. Location for this place is ideal. Team are really nice and service is very quick. Every single thing I have ever bought here has been fresh and tastes terrific. Nicoletta Pizzeria - You've hooked us.

Yelp
Good crust and recommend the cream de tartufo sauce. Great setting next to the water. Fun meal before a Nats game.

Yelp
Unfortunately this review isn't about the food since apparently they ran out of pizza. It's in a nice location and the pizza looked decent, but I guess I'll never know since they ran out of pizza early in the evening on a Saturday. So we just went down the boardwalk to All Purpose Pizza and had some great food, as always.
google avatar

Taylor S.

Yelp
Very tasty! Loved how the pepperoni was cut thick and the crust thin. We also got a plain and it was equally as delicious. $40 for 2 larges. Not pricey for the area though! Nice location too
google avatar

Lisa J.

Yelp
Came here at 7:00 on a Saturday. Turns out they can run out of pizza. I would call ahead before making the journey.

TJ J.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place and even love it. Regrettably, I must give it two stars. I ordered a pizza with mozzarella and ricotta cheese. Got home and it's a pizza with mozzarella, ricotta cheese and HAM!!! I was very disappointed to see my order that significantly wrong. I could understand if the restaurant was busy or perhaps they gave me someone else's order but I was the only person there. Literally there only customer. I picked off the ham and tried to eat it but it's not that good. Taste is relative so I don't want to be too negative. The staff are really pleasant. I'm sure they would have apologized and fixed the order immediately had I checked my order before I left.

Yelp
pizza was DELICIOUS. nice crispy crust, great toppings and most importantly a awesome tomato sauce. can't wait to come back! Also has the wings which were great!

Alex L.

Yelp
Solid margarita pizza, nice location on the riverfront. Enjoyed my meal here, came back and was solid again.
