"East side pasta purveyor Nicoletto’s Italian Kitchen expands to Hillsboro Village today — opening with fresh pasta, salads, and sandwiches on Belcourt Avenue. The new carb-centric outpost at 2123 Belcourt opens at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 15. The Nicoletto brothers’ pasta company specializes in bronze cut, fresh and dried pasta and the Italian kitchen serves build-your-own-style pasta bowls and more. Open on Gallatin Pike since early 2016, the original Nicoletto’s is owned and operated by brothers Danny and Ryan Nicoletto. The roughly 700-square-foot East Nashville space beside Mickey’s Tavern serves as a full service retail spot for their dried and fresh pastas, plus a 16-seat fast-casual restaurant serving a simple menu of pastas, meatballs, and salad. Nicoletto’s also serves a late night menu (until midnight) on weekends — with meatball subs, Italian beef, green chili mac and cheese, and more on offer." - Delia Jo Ramsey

"The Nashville Business Journal reported earlier this week that East side pasta purveyor Nicoletto’s Italian Kitchen has its sights set on Hillsboro Village for a second location. The new carb-centric spot slides another former home of carbs of another sort — the just closed Bare Naked Bagel location — at 2123 Belcourt Avenue. More details about the expansion will be added as more information becomes available. Great quality ingredients. Ordered the spinach fettuccine, add broccoli and vegan meatballs. I went with the pink sauce as recommended by other reviewers, it was decent a bit too indulgent for my taste. The pasta itself was perfectly cooked and the vegan meatballs were very flavorful. I would definitely eat here again if in the area. Next time I’ll just try a different sauce.

Nice pre- theater dinner. Pasta was fresh and sauces were excellent. The cannoli was an excellent way to top off the meal.

I had the spinach fettuccine with Alfredo sauce, the noodles were amazing. We brought the only remaining bag of campinelli noodles home to Wisconsin and used them for our dinner last night. Only thing I'd had to say is I wish they had more bags to purchase!

I got a very basic meal - spaghetti Bolognese with mushrooms and a Chicago Chop Salad. I figured it would be good dishes to try the place out with. But it seems it wasn't meant to be as I can't recommend even the basics. Honestly, the pasta was not good. The spaghetti itself was not al dente - incredibly mushy actually - and the Bolognese sauce is flavorless. It just tastes like ground meat...not much else (lacking even the basics like salt). The salad and dressing were fine, but the side bread also lacked flavor (the croutons on the salad however were delicious and sadly, one of the most flavorful things amongst the dishes along with the dressing). It was absolutely not worth the price considering the quality and quantity. The pasta maybe more 'worth it' if it could deliver on flavor (but charging $2.95 for mushrooms when you only get perhaps 1.5 mushrooms is not - yes I counted and it was 11 thin slices on my spaghetti. These are not truffles) but the salad is not appropriately priced. Meal was almost $30 without delivery charges. It's just not worth it for flavorless food.

Great selection of fresh pasta and other Italian favorites! The food is good, portions are big, and it's not too expensive either. I didn't like the Italian poutine but honestly just personal preference not a knock on their prep of the dish

First off, the food was on point. The chicken Parm was tender with a delicious marinara and very fresh mozzarella and basil. The arugula salad also very fresh and served with a tasty basil vinaigrette. Focaccia bread on the side was good. What was disappointing: we arrived at 8:35pm after seeing a film at The Belcourt and, uncertain of the hours, asked an employee who was clearing outdoor tables if they were still open. She seemed uncertain of the time and came across less than welcoming but did invite us inside. While placing our order my wife asked what wine she recommended and we got a response something to the effect of "Oh, I don't know." My wife then said she'd like to try the chianti and the response was "Well, I'd have to open a bottle," conveying - intentionally or not - that this would seemingly be a bother. I suppose she may have had a rough day of service (though the restaurant hours, I later discovered, are only 4pm-9pm so that's hardly killer service hours), but as an Italian restaurant (fast-casual notwithstanding) you a) have to know about your wine offerings; and b) never turn down an opportunity to make a beverage sale given the revenue you are otherwise losing. As it stood, both of us just ended up with a cup of water. We will definitely be back as the food was delicious. Hoping we just caught an off night on service.

Google
Kiosk/ Food Court /Food Truck style, everything is extra. Water is self service. This would do well in an airport. Similar to Nothing But Noodles. Not trying to put this place down for it not being what it isn't, but the first 3 pages of reviews do not reflect that this is a food court college cafeteria style business model. The food was good. Mosquitos need spraying under that deck in front. A salient point that no one at either location we visited even realized we are asking our questions about seating because we are looking for a sit down restaurant. With confidence they told us at the East location that the other Hillsboro location has indoor seating.

The food was ok and restaurant was ok — somewhere between fast food and sit down. Staff was rushed but environment was clean and enjoyable. Caprese salad was amazing.
