"Nicole Peltier’s roaming wine bar, Nico’s Small Market, has moved out of its three-wheeled Piaggio Ape rickshaw and into a new two-story storefront in Atwater Village. On the main level find Nico’s with a selection of mostly natural wine. Peltier focuses on offering low-intervention wines by the bottle and glass. Upstairs in the shop, bottles will start at around $15 to $18, with more expensive options like Champagne. Regions around the world will be well-represented with domestic wines from Oregon and the California coast, as well as options from France, Australia, Slovenia, and more. Absolute favorite spot for a night out in Atwater!! The atmosphere is everything — the tiles, the lighting, the music, the people — I tell everyone I know to go to Nico’s, and I have the best time every time I visit. So excited to have this place in the area!

Wine shop above baby battista has great selection of all the goods: natural wine, beer, sake, and other cool merch for sale. Can definitely tell the staff knows what they’re talking about and prices are super reasonable. There’s also a small parking lot which makes stopping by to grab a bottle really convenient!

This is your new favorite wine bar and bottle shop! Incredible selection of natty wines upstairs and downstairs feels like you've transported to a european wine bar. Wines by the glass were delicious and the snack menu has the perfect bites to complement (the Brillat Savarin cheese paired with Olli Tartufo Salami was out of this world)! Staff is knowledgable and incredible as well! 10/10 experience!

My husband and I went here for a jazz show a few weeks ago. The downstairs seating area was intimate, the sound of the show was very good, and the musicians were incredible. You can tell there is a real sense of community at Nico's. People seemed very at home, relaxing and enjoying quality wine... that perhaps they purchased in the upstairs retail shop.....great concept! The staff was all very friendly & attentive and the food bites looked tasty. Looking forward to coming back to Nico's again in the near future - I highly recommend it!

Cant recommend Nico's enough!!! Their wine shop is so cute, the selection is fantastic, and the downstairs is so lovely. This is the perfect spot to go hang out with friends or enjoy a little wine on a date. Their small bites are also delicious. I've been to Nico's for their events too which are so fun! Great service, beautiful decor, and a guaranteed good time.

went on a rainy Saturday and it wasn't too busy! really enjoyed the wine selection and the downstairs area. I've seen this place get super busy on other nights due to events so I'd check the instagram before coming. The wine shop is filled with unique and delicious wines & the staff was very helpful. I'd come back!

The vibes are here! The music fit the ambience perfectly and a dj ended up playing the night. A friend and I came by around 7 on a Friday. It slowly started to get crowded and was somewhat packed by 10. The wine selection is a diverse palette. They also offer small snacks as well. (Please note that they were work with peanuts in the kitchen). So glad the bartenders let me know as I have a peanut allergy!

Came here with my friend and we loved it. It's such a cute speakeasy with good music. The service was great and the staff was very helpful. My friend and I came before they did the makeover and we loved it. We decided to come back and absolutely loved the makeover. Also you have the option to buy a bottle and drink it downstairs.

Wowee, oh boy This is the cutest little bottle shop around, and it's new. Natural wines galore! But wait that's not all, don't leave yet... below this wine store there is so much more An adorable underground wine bar to drink the funky effervescent bottle of red that we just bought. And what more? Yes you guessed it a small theater for live music (did somebody say jazz night?) and comedy (stand up!) Plus games?! Dice, cards coffee table books. It's feeling like a nice living room in here. Something tells me that I'd been here before, but now Nico has made this place cute and inviting! Good vibes, good wine, good times!

Went here to play backgammon with a friend but theys asked us to leave upstairs event though we paid customers. We had wine and an open tab but wanted our chair for other customers? Why because it was busy? It was rude and I will not go back. Please don't treat customers with disrespect!!

It's great to see this space really shine. Lots of refreshing selections on the wine shelves I haven't seen before. It's just cool how quickly it's become such a hub for the Atwater community. i come here twice a week, which maybe doesn't say great things about my alcohol consumption, BUT is a testament to how much i freaking love this place. vibes unmatched, and i try to try a new bottle of wine every week. always delicious. also i was confused at first too - bottle shop upstairs, and baby battista little bar downstairs (so cute). all around 20 out of 10 stars. LOVE!!!!!
