Howard get your this guy to put on a hat or something over his head. I don’t know how everyone else is following the state law about having your head covered but this guy seems like he can just get away with whatever. I’m gonna send this to the city and the county so go ahead and talk to your staff and get this fixed. I know you and the casino have cameras so you will see that he was actually preparing orders with no head covering.

My first time having Nelson's, won't be my last time! I was pleasantly surprised with the treat jere. We had the burnt almond chocolate as the base and added strawberry to make one of their "concrete" options. There were like 1-3 almonds per bite. They give a generous amount of almonds. It was amazing. It was not too sweet and had a perfect blend of smooth, delightful taste. The staff were really friendly snd all smiles. They allow you to sample the frozen custard flavors if you can't decide. There is no seating for this place, but the food court surrounding the area has plenty of seating. I'm going to try their waffle cones the next time I'm here.

It's been a long time since I had some good frozen custard. I'm happy that they had this location inside Durango Casino. It was the perfect spot to go to after having lunch across from them. I just ordered the Oreo combo in a cup and it was just delicious. It's definitely worth trying out.

If you have never tried frozen custard, you haven’t tried the real ice cream. Nielsen's Frozen Custard beats ANY ice cream shop anywhere! Love frozen custard and Nielsen's won't disappoint. I always get a custom concrete of bananas, almonds , vanilla. So creamy , so thick ,so rich and so flavorful. So tasty. A creaminess you have to experience to know. Awesome variety of choices to suit whatever you're in the mood for. Takes you back to a time when things were more real and pure and healthy, not like today when everything is artificial and tasteless. The customer service is amazing, very welcoming and friendly. I love it here and you will too. Trust me on this, check out Nielsen's!

I recently visited Nielsen’s Frozen Custard shop inside the Durango casino and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it! The dessert was incredibly tasty, with rich, creamy flavors that really hit the spot. I got the chocolate ice cream with brownie bites, and it was absolutely delicious. The soft, creamy chocolate paired with the chewy brownie bites was pure perfection. It was the perfect dessert to complement the variety of foods available in the surrounding area. Whether you’re enjoying a meal or just looking for a sweet treat, this ice cream shop is a must-visit. Highly recommend it if you're in the casino and craving something delicious to top off your visit!

Been coming to Nielsen’s for years—brought the kids and their grandma in on Thursday night for a treat. Service up front was great but I did notice that some of the staff seemed a lot more active than others. Our orders came out slower than usual from all my past experiences. Not a huge deal, but when you’ve been coming as long as I have, you start to notice those things. Still one of our favorite spots.

Creamy and dreamy! I loved this delicious frozen custard dessert in the Durango Resort food court! My sweetheart and I split the oreo chunk delicacy with rave reviews. I highly recommend Nielsen's offerings and I will return!

We have been going to Nielsen’s for frozen custard for years! Tonight was a terrible experience! We took the family for dessert - we have family here from out of town. We were very excited just to have K (don’t want to blast the rude person) who was super rude take our order. She just kept asking, “Is that all?” After every person’s ordered. Mind you we were a party of about 10 people who all walked in together and were ALL clearly ordering together. When the final person ordered, she said, “UH, thank goodness! That was a FAT order!” In what world is a “FAT” order a bad thing for a business? The complete rudeness was terrible. After the order was made there were numerous mistakes, and we were still waiting for the last custard. When I asked why we hadn’t received the last order, she asked to count how many custards we had already received, as if we were trying to steal custard. How can we steal custard that is given to us by them? I’m not sure I will return to this location ever again. I can have a bit of sympathy if a party of 10 showed up 5 mins before closing but when we show up 2 hours before close and for that kind of attitude, rudeness and unprofessionalism really hurts the whole brand. The customer service was horrible! Especially for spending $100 for custard. Hopefully this can be fixed because I don’t think we will be back. Yes, Howard, I would welcome a gift card. As I mentioned, we have been frequent customers for many years. Since the Durango location opened, we patronize this location more than the others as it is closer to our home. I appreciate your prompt response. UPDATE: Howard's promise was empty as no gift card was delivered. Nice try to make it seem like you cared about your customer service.

Nielsen's at the Durango has super fresh, creamy custard that tastes homemade. The concretes and sundaes are the real stars--thick, rich, and loaded with toppings.

Ummm, AMAZING! Decided to stop by here on a whim after happy hour at another restaurant in the casino. Cute little place with lots of seating. The service was fast and friendly. The combinations of concretes is endless. So many options and I am already thinking of ones I will try next time. Hubby went with his standard option, Oreo concrete- I had a bite and it was tasty! I did chocolate Cherry chip with waffle cone mix in- this was incredible!!!! We will definitely be back!

The custard is so good! I was so surprised at how much I liked it after I tried it again after it had been about a year and a half. I'm craving it again now that I'm writing this. The custard is so smooth and I love the capt n crunch mix in. I also added fruity pebbles so it was the perfect cereal n milk flavor. Ice cream does melt slightly fast but I love that it re-freezes well. Service was quick and I love that this place is in the food hall which allows open seating or grab-n-go.

4/24/25- What a way to end with a regular hot fudge sundae with whip cream and almonds! Perfect size and really good! Wish we had one in my city..

I stopped here for some frozen custard. I first heard of Nielsen's when I was in one of their locations in St. George, Utah. It was there that I learned there was one in Henderson. From then until now, Nielsen's has grown by having outlets in several Station casino food courts. I wanted a concrete, a favorite of theirs for me. I looked at the suggested concretes and I chose the coconut pineapple one. In a short time, it was ready. I enjoyed this treat. A good amount of toasted coconut throughout the frozen custard, and a similar amount of pineapple pieces. It's always a treat to stop a Nielsen's.

Service was amazing, the gentleman that took our order was able to help us pick exactly what we wanted out and gave great recommendations. I got the specialty Sundae with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, Oreos, and peanuts. My wife got the flavor of the day, which was a strawberry cheesecake with Oreos added. The strawberry cheesecake was out of this world. Seating in the seating was easily accessible. We will definitely be back.

I just needed a drink to go with my pizza I had ordered next door. I decided to try Nielsen's for their soda that comes with frozen custard. I wanted the cherry flavored soda and asked the attendant what flavor custard I should get. He suggested vanilla telling me that any other flavor would just get lost in the combo. I took his word for it. Three scoops right on top of my cup. Let me tell you about the cherry soda though! It had actual pieces of maraschino cherries. They came up smoothly through my straw and they were small enough to where I wasn't chewing them. It was a delicious soda. I love that I could enjoy the custard with my soda or just grab some with my spoon. This was more of a float to me and I thought it was great.

Looking for a dessert option after dinner or even as a snack? Nielsen's Frozen custard is my go to! It's located in Durango Casino's Eat your Heart Out food hall. They serve vanilla, chocolate, and a flavor of the day custard. What's great about it is that you could add whatever toppings and flavors to the base. My go to is BANANA PECAN w/ Pistachio topping. CHEF'S KISS & I ate the whole a** cup. It's soooo good. Not too sweet, but subtle fresh banana taste and the nutty flavor and crunch texture of the pistachios. I had it twice in a row and I want it again! Definitely will be stopping by more often.

Randomly drove out to Durango Casino before our flight home and the restaurants and food court offerings all looked really great but I'd already eaten. Came upon Nielsens and i definitely have room for a tasty treat... it looked different than I'm used to no clue what a "concrete" is but I just ordered a "milkshake" chocolate custard and add peanut butter sauce. This was exactly what I was looking for. It was so light and fluffy with the perfect peanut butter chocolate taste. It was a lot healthy serving as well enough for two people. I feel like I'd drive back out there to try another restaurant and having frozen custard for dessert!

Located in the food hall of the Durango Casino and Resort in Las Vegas, Nielsen's has a very simple menu consisting of three types of frozen custard (vanilla, chocolate, and rotating flavor of the day) and various mix-ins. We came around lunchtime during a Thursday, and there was no line so we got our dish pretty quickly. The two young workers were friendly enough, making sure to turn around our order fast so there was no wait. The custard is very good, super thick as a premium soft serve should be...maybe just as good as some of the best custard I've had in Wisconsin. We got a 3 scooper in a cup ($6.95)for chocolate chip as the flavor of the day, For us, custard this good doesn't require any additional toppings...in fact, we had quite a bit of chocolate chips left over since we focused on mainly eating the ice cream.

This place is amazing! The custard is super good, honestly the best I've ever had. The flavors are so good, and the staff is friendly and happy to help. You can tell they really care about what they do. Definitely my new go-to dessert spot! I added cookie dough to mine, and they definitely don't short you on the cookie dough like most places normally do. If you are at The Durango Casino, you have to try this place!

Delish! The smell alone walking by will grab you. I ordered a concrete with vanilla custard and Oreos. The quality is top notch and so light. Can't wait to try more. Staff was very nice and helpful as it was my first visit.

Been to this casino a few times and always see a long line. Finally decided to give it a try. Overall very nice, but I'd say nothing too crazy great to get 5 stars. I had a scoop of vanilla and chocolate and a concrete. Their concretes are similar to the DQ blizzards but seem to melt a little faster than expected - therefore the name isn't exactly accurate. Overall a nice ice cream joint but not sure how often I would repeat...especially with the long lines.

Legit custard ice cream and love how they mix the flavors you want for you. Basically like a cold stone ice cream but it custard instead. Friendly, patient customer service, and a clean on beyond to order or grab the pints to go . Love this spot!

OMG!!! I have healed my inner child at this place. They have gotten the SpongeBob ice cream burger. It is hands down the best. It also comes in a cute box

Always a perfect treat after dinner! I like to get the flavor of the day! They've never had a flavor I didn't like. They have, hands down the BEST custard! The people working there are so friendly & efficient. The place is very clean & organized, we go there almost every weekend.

Very good! You could taste the difference immediately especially compared to other ice cream places. The only downside is they only have a few flavors into sub unless you buy the bigger option. I also understand why they do it that way, but it just takes the fun of being able to try a little bit of every flavor However, the ice cream taste very fresh and well-made. I would have it again and try a different flavor.

This was overall a decent experience, but I don't know if it was worth the fairly long line and associated wait time. They only have three flavors of frozen custard - vanilla, chocolate, or the flavor of the day. They do have a variety of different ways to enjoy the frozen custard - thick shakes, sundaes, or just in a cup or cone with or without toppings. I had the double cup of the flavor of the day - almond fudge. I had the bumbleberry topping which was basically a mix of fruits including strawberry and raspberry. It was served in a very plain plastic cup. Service was fairly friendly. It was tasty but overall nothing special. It's worth a try, but I don't think it's worth it if there's a long line.

I didn't even get full cup and it cost me $6.25 plus tax and tip. Very disappointing.

Nielsens's Frozen Custard is a great place to get some frozen custard. The staff is nice and the service is reasonably fast. Expect long lines on the weekends! The menu allows for lots of flavor variations and the decorations are fun. The frozen custard is very rich and their serving sizes are very generous. No way could we finish a single cone or a Concrete. We hated to waste it but after eating dinner first, there was just no way we could finish it. Definitely worth checking out! .

Nielsen's Frozen Custard usually offers vanilla, chocolate, and a flavor of the day custard. You can get them in sundaes, cones, concretes and more. The vanilla custard is always rich and delicious. The chocolate is a mild milk chocolate. On our last visit here one of the machines was Brocken and they were out of chocolate custard. We left but that is not their fault. This time my husband got a small chocolate custard. He said it's a little more chocolatey than a Frosty but richer. I always enjoy the vanilla custards from Nielsen's. Today I tried my first concrete made with Reese's Cups. It was far larger than I expected it to be. (maybe enough for more than two people) The thing about it that I didn't like was that the Reese's Cups were blended up so much all you got was very tiny very hard chocolate shards in rich vanilla custard. The peanut butter sort of disappeared. Next time I'll get a small vanilla custard and maybe top it with Reese's Cups! 4.5 Stars Excellent Custard and also Excellent friendly service.

I can't say enough good things about this place! The ice cream is delicious and tastes homemade!! The staff are extremely kind and friendly!! It's always so clean and well run!!

I have had a long love for Nielsen's going waaaay back! The original location in Henderson used to be a 55 min drive from my house and when I had a hankering for a sweet treat we would travel with the whole family and make a mini road trip out of our custard craving.. My husband and father-in-law are even local icons at the Eastern location! They have a one-of-a-kind restoration that they worked on for the owner, but I swear I'm not biased.. The custard truly has a cult following LOL I was stoked when multiple locations started popping up just as charming as the original (and much closer to my house, thank goodness). I love that authenticity and vintage atmosphere about them. I must say that the Durango location really stunned me when I turned the corner.. It makes you feel like you're transported into the 50's with the vintage color scheme, adorable neon ice cream sign, cute frosted globe pendants and their time capsule display case.. As an interior designer, their true to the period aesthetic made my heart sing. I was nervous that like some small local-owned companies who open additional locations... the quality of their product sometimes does not transfer over.. but I was stoked to see that their standards of customer service, presentation, and quality of their custard is not lacking in the least. I am so happy to see this company thriving and always look forward to my chocolate custard with chocolate sprinkles and bananas OR chocolate sprinkles, walnuts and raspberry sauce! Don't forget to order the specialty flavor of the day! You might find a new favorite ;)

After eating lunch in the "Eat Your Heart Out" food hall, we needed something sweet..Nielsen's Frozen Custard it is! We jumped in line and perused the menu. Cool logo lighting and friendly staff. Quarts and Pints available if you so choose. You get to see the vanilla chocolate custard being made as it pours out of the machine into the freezer. Some craft bottled beverages are available including: Boylan Grape soda, Route 66 real cane sugar blu-razzberri and orange soda, Dang that good butterscotch root beer, Leninade, Frostie vanilla root beer, Dad's cream soda and old fashioned root beer, Cheerwine cherry soda and coke. The wife chose the regular sundae with caramel, almonds, hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry 5/5. I had a couple questions regarding the concretes and ending up choosing the cheesecake with vanilla custard 5/5 thick and delicious. Wish they let you know how the concretes are made, choose a base Vanilla, Chocolate or the flavor of the day and then you mix in your topping. Clear after speaking with them but not on the menu. Regardless a great dessert and plenty of tasty options. Tip: They do offer a 10% Military/Veteran discount so be sure to ask. Will be back for more custard!

Let me start off by saying this is probably the creamiest frozen custard that I have ever had. It was so delicious. I had to get the classic vanilla. I did that on a waffle cone and it was amazing. I love how reasonable the prices are. My baby girl got a scoop of the classic vanilla with some caramel topping, and we threw that into a cup for her. She absolutely loved it. She said it was better than even some of the dolce, the Leche ice cream's that she had had from other places. She said that you could tell that this place really was good quality. Let me tell you, she is seven years old, but she is definitely an ice cream, fro yo, yogurt, budding, pudding and custard/frozen custard connoisseur!! I cannot quite remember the name of the person who helped us, but he was very sweet. He was very patient. He took my daughters order directly from her, and although she was very shy and had a little bit of trouble getting out exactly what she wanted, he did not rush her. He was not frustrated. He allowed her to try over and over again until she was able to clearly explain to him what she would like. I thought that was very sweet. When it came to frozen custard, toppings, and what not, there are tons. Their waffle cones were delicious and so fresh. To change it up, my husband ordered a root beer float. That actually was very good too. The one trick to being able to devour your float, slurp up the froth off the top before you try and stick your entire straw into your cup. Otherwise, you will have this overflowing frothy mess all over the place. They have a couple of print menus on the counter, but for the most part is easiest if you use the menu on their screens. Take a picture of them even if you have to get in line and can't see them from where you start standing. There really are so many options. The flavor of the day when we were there was Oreo. But like I said, we wanted something a little different and something of our own. When it comes to concrete, I can't even tell you how many different options and possibilities there are. It is crazy. Next time, I want to order a concrete. I don't know of any places where a family of three can each get an item for themselves and the total be under $20. This was amazing and I cannot wait to visit again. The creaminess of their custard is so phenomenal. Don't take my word for it. Go and try it yourself.

We got a nut concrete with strawberry cashew flavor and a single FC topper. The strawberry cashew custard was surprisingly pretty good. It was super rich & creamy. We also got a single F.C topper with the flavor of the day ( Rocky Road ) and the Reeses peanut butter cup topping. I'll give that a 3 ...nothing special. It has a more processed taste compared to the nut concrete. You get what you pay for. Cashier (Flacco ?) was very friendly and extremely helpful. We told him it was our first time here and he explained everything about the flavors in the menu. After we ordered, we waited for about five minutes for our custards. We got lucky and there was no line. This was on a Tuesday afternoon around 430 pm

Finally trying out this place after hearing about it from my brother and clips on YouTube. Tried the strawberry and Cashew concrete out and it was delicious. I thought it would be small but it was enough to share with someone else which I suggest. A good alternative to ice cream. A definite place to go back for dessert.

This is located in the new Durango casino. We ordered the vanilla malt concrete with liquid chocolate chips...OMG...this was Amazing!!! Creamy yummy goodness with chocolate chips throughout! Sooooo good, run to get yours!!! The staff were pleasant and efficient. There was only one person in front of us in line when we were there. Delicious!!!!

Great place with amazing service and frozen custards. It's located in Durango Casino... I actually do not know if they have other locations. I definitely need to check . The staff are friendly, nice and respectful. They even asked me how my name should be pronounced to call it in the right way ... (never in my life anybody asked me).. It's really delicious, and I'll try different choices from their menu pretty soon, I guess.

Vanilla custard with toffee almond crunch topper and old fashioned hot fudge....OMGEEEE it was so good we ate it b4 the phone ate 1st! Sorry no picture of it...needless to say it's worth it! This is a newer casino with and the food court is amazing....come down!

I have been to the original location of Neilsen's, so I was excited to see one in the Durango. Staff is super friendly and provides excellent recommendations. I got a vanilla custard with butterscotch, pretzels and waffle cone, which was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. The texture of the custard was a bit looser than I expected but it did withstand a walk outside and around the casino. There were many accessible menus throughout the line. There are clear stanchions for the line and the counter and tables were available nearby.

Nielsen's was okay, but I'd prefer going across the street for Salt and Straw or Smitten. The menu is overwhelming but once you get the hang of it you can order endless combos. I went with a group of friends so I got to try a mix of flavors. My husband and I shared a vanilla sundae. While good, it wasn't better than Freddy's and Freddy's is cheaper and quicker. I tried my friend's creamsickle flavor. That was okay. Tasted very synthetic. I tried my other friend's raspberry cheesecake. That was probably the best flavor of the night but still not comparable to the ice cream across the street. For the wait and the price, the custard wasn't worth it to us. Would probably only come back if we wanted dessert and just finished eating dinner somewhere else in the casino.

We LOVE Nielsen's!!! The custard here is honestly so good and creamy and portion sizes are very large. My boyfriend and I were able to split one and still felt like we ate a good amount each. They have 3 flavors vanilla, chocolate, and flavor of the day but several add-ins for their concretes! We got Oreo and M&M and it was delicious! Our only thing is we felt they barely put any Oreo in it at all and mainly just got M&M's so proportions were a little off but may have just been whoever was working that day. The other thing is be prepared for a long line when busy! We felt they needed to put up a menu on the side where the line waits because when people finally got up to order they were seeing the menu for the first time which is what was making the wait much longer. Overall though, it was definitely a cute nostalgic little to-go spot in the food court and would definitely come back!

I've been to their location in the Red Rock Casino and this new location didn't disappoint! It looked like a long line at first, but we waited maybe 5-10 minutes max. There was only 1 guy taking orders and he moved the line along pretty fast. Their flavor of the day was cherry chocolate chip and after my friends and I sampled it, half the group ordered it. They only have a select 3-4 flavors for sampling, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the flavors. My go to is oreo mint. It's a huge serving enough to share between 3 people for $7. It has the perfect amount of mint and oreo cookie chunks swirled in. I love the texture and consistency of the frozen custard here it's thick and creamy

If you haven't had custard ice cream before, then you must. But try it plain if you want to try tasting the pure essence of amazingness that it is. The whole custard thing sounded super questionable for me initially, but after reading about how they have a unique texture and some special air technique, I was sold. It's a chain and it tastes exactly the same as the one at red rock. Well, maybe the Red ROCK location is slightly better because it's the first time I fell in love with custard ice cream. My preference is to get vanilla, plain on a cake cone. Simple. No extra sauces or toppings. Cuz if I'm going to do that then I can go get regular ice cream somewhere else. The line is long but moves fast within 15 minutes.

My first time here and i didn't know that they only have flavors, chocolate and vanilla. That was a bummer for me. My wife and daughter likes the chocolate, so I tried it. For me, it was ok. The service was not bad, a little slow but consistent.

Usually it's just either vanilla or chocolate that's available as a starting base for their desserts. I'm a huge fan of their flavors of the day, and it's great because each location has a different flavor. You can follow them on IG for their flavor announcements. I've tried the concrete and sundaes before, and while they are good I much prefer the simply single or double scoop on a cone. Totally reasonable prices. A single scoop on a regular sugar cone is around $4 including tax, and a double scoop on a waffle cone is just a little over $6 -- a pretty good deal. Recently I tried the strawberry which was excellent. Extraordinarily creamy, smooth, not overly milky or anything. The strawberry flavor totally stood out. Then last night I tried a double Oreo scoop on waffle cone, and it was stupid good. Even though the line was really long last night (Christmas evening) that stretched all the way to Paulie's, the line moved at a reasonable pace I was able to reach the front in about 15-20 minutes. Service is always great too. TIP: Sign up for their rewards program (not an app), and get a free single scoop cone.

THIS IS IT! YOU DO NOT NEED ANYTHING ELSE IN YOUR LIFE EXCEPT THIS DELICIOUS DESSERT. CALORIES DO NOT COUNT WHEN VISITING VEGAS. Nielsen's has produced the best tasting ice cream/custard, whatever you want to call it, that has ever existed. I will literally take a trip off the strip any time I visit Vegas to come get their stuff. I ordered a "Concrete" with Fruity Pebbles and it was delicious. When I go to ice cream places, I am wary of ordering cereal toppings because they are typically stale but not here! It tasted like they opened a fresh bag just for my order. This place is always busy and for good reason, they deliver a high quality product. It's a food stand within the food court style area and they call out numbers as they make it. Right behind the counter where you order, they have the custard being made fresh - you know it'll be good when they're making it fresh in front of you. The decorations are great, it feels like a 50's era diner. YOU NEED TO VISIT.

A great place to stop by when you're dropping into the newest casino! This custard shoppe is phenomenal! I came during its grand opening so naturally the line was long. It's located in the food hall behind the sandwich shop and in front of the pizzeria. They have a good selection of toppers and their base is either chocolate or vanilla. The line went by quick and the girl at the counter was sweet. I didn't want much custard so I told the girl the smallest possible order - they accommodated by giving me a smaller portion of the small size at the same price which was unusual. I did get the flavor of the day which was Oreo and the custard was so creamy! I'd certainly come back again for some custard - amazing! Pricing is moderate, for a small "soft serve" style cone I paid $4.14 after tax. My review is as follows: - Food: 5/5 - Service: 4/5 - Ambiance: 4.5/5

Do not bother going...Durango Casino location. Quality, consistency and customer service were definitely not what it used to be when they first opened. Just did not want to be bother taking the order and making the order and the Icecream was 1/2 full. I would say go somewhere else they are just not the same anymore and not worth it!

Super long line that did not go very fast. I know we have another one not attached to the casino that I have been to before. But decided to give it a try here. In the end the ice cream was not too different to me than a DQ. I'd rather go and find "normal or real" ice cream. Partly I just prefer ice cream that is solid and frozen whereas I know others prefer soft serve ice cream. Lots of flavors to add to the ice cream. But for me I won't if the line is going to be long.

We got theee concretes (about 16 ounces of custard) with your choice mix-ins. Honestly, waaay too big for me. Perfect for sharing. BUT So many options to choose from. So many combinations.
