I ordered two cakes for my son’s first birthday and they came out PERFECT! I provided the airplanes for the top along with inspiration pictures and they did an absolutely amazing job! Everyone was complimenting on how cute the cakes turned out and how delicious it was! My son really went to town on his smash cake, too. 10/10 baby approved! I would 100% recommend Night Kitchen Bakery and Cafe! I also got my wedding cake from them and it was absolutely beautiful!

From out of town. I came in last minute looking for a cake to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. They had a lovely assortment of ready to take cakes and they even offered to write on it even though I didn’t order ahead. They were super nice and accommodating. And the cake itself was INCREDIBLE. We got the Chocolate Mousse cake and it was so moist and flavorful! We were afraid the cake wouldn’t make the 12 hour trip back from Philly to KY, but sure enough it was pristine!!! Will definitely be back.

Night Kitchen created my dream wedding cake! It was everything I could have asked for and it tasted amazing. Everyone gave us compliments on our cake and can’t wait to go back for any other specialty cake we need.

We ordered our wedding cake from their bakery. We had a tasting that was so well put together and accessible for us— AND TASTED AMAZING!!! It was a no brainer for us. It was delicious and not too sweet. They followed our design and created a masterpiece of a cake. Definitely recommend!

I am super late posting this (ordered 2/2024), but this cake ate! I had this place saved for a looonnggg time, but never tried them out. To see how the customer service was I went in just to get a few desserts which I devoured before driving away. The customer service in person was attentive and helpful so I decided to follow up with a cake order. My mom wanted a LV which I couldn’t afford so I thought a cake would merge two things she likes together. When making the cake order and picking up the cake everyone I came in contact with provided superb service. It was like it was a cake for their mom 🥲. When I picked up the cake, the lady even put it in the car for me o m g. They also give instructions on storage both verbal and written. I’ll definitely be returning for my next custom cake idea. The detail on this cake is just spectacular and it tasted great too!

Night Kitchen made our wedding cake for our wedding at Joseph Ambler Inn. The entire experience working with them was incredible. The tasting was very informative and the baker sat with us to help design our cake. It turned out perfectly and everyone told us how delicious the cake was at the end of the night. We could not recommend Night kitchen more for any event !

We ordered our wedding cake through them and it was absolutely perfect. They matched our colors perfectly and it tasted so good. It was so easy and the staff was so friendly. We got so many compliments and they even added our furry friend to the bottom. Highly recommend.

Night Kitchen baked cakes and cupcakes for our wedding, and we couldn’t have been happier!! Amy was so kind and easy to work with. We opted for a small cake to cut in photos (pictured) and had sheet cakes that were cut and plated in the kitchen before being served. This allowed us to get multiple flavors to accommodate everyone’s tastes! They also made the kid’s cupcakes so fun and colorful. Don’t sleep on their carrot cake — it’s exquisite!!

Absolutely wonderful service!! I came for kamala cookies, but instead, I got what they actually had in stock which was snickerdoodle cookie and pumpkin cupcake, and a pumpkin spice latte. Delicious and divine!!! I can't wait to come back for the kamala Cookies !!! Retro mellow music. I love this cafe. I love my time here!!!!

I have driven past the night kitchen for years now and I finally popped inside the other day to check it out. They had an assortment of cakes, cookies, pies and other sweet treats. I decided to get a couple of their cupcakes (pumpkin with a cinnamon frosting, red velvet, carrot cake and regular chocolate with a vanilla buttercream). I mainly got the pumpkin because I'm trying to see if I actually dislike pumpkin flavor or the hype of it... turns out I really just don't enjoy pumpkin flavors things. The pumpkin cupcake was my least favorite of the bunch. The chocolate was good, very standard cupcake however the carrot cake my goodness 10/10 exceptional! The red velvet closely followed the carrot cake. All the cupcakes were moist and not overly sweet with the perfect pairing of icing. The cupcakes range from $3-$4 depending on the specialty level. They also range in sizes a bit. The service was good, I was helped right away. They are also a cafe so I believe they do some kind of food too. There are a couple of tables for seating inside. It was small but cute! ***chocolate cupcake not pictured as my husband ate it as soon as I placed them on the counter haha

One of the best apple pies I've ever had. Was able to pick up just 2 days before Thanksgiving. And everyone's really nice.

I was craving a lemon bar so I googled bakeries that had them and came across The Night Kitchen. I went last week and grabbed 2 - for some reason the lemon bars were more like lemon goo (they did not hold their bar form at all and were more like a pudding) but the flavor was spot on so I tried again today and got an amazing (and properly "firm") lemon bar. I haven't tried anything else there but everything in the cases looks great. They have a great variety of things from cookies to cupcakes and bars of all sorts. Definitely check them out!

We ordered a Christmas Yule log and it was very, very nice. Good taste and beautiful presentation.

My cousin introduced me to this bakery and I can only speak on the specialty cakes and let me tell you, they're STUNNING and absolutely the tastiest cakes I've ever had. That carrot cake (no nuts, which solidifies my firm belief that nuts don't belong in dessert...but I digress) was moist, flavorful, and I wish I had 19 more slices. I talked to Amy on the phone and she helped envision the cake that my dad and I would share for a joint birthday. I just mentioned books and scuba diving and they made it into the most amazing cake. I emailed the books and authors and I realized when I saw the cake that the designers must've looked up the books because they had the exact color scheme of the original books. The attention to detail was remarkable. I wish I lived in Philly because I'd go to this place every day of my life (okay maybe it's good I don't live in Philly...). Also they offer many discounts if you belong to local places (like the co-op). I love this bakery. I can't stop writing this review!!!!

From start to finish the staff at The night kitchen bakery left my now husband and I feeling like we were in great hands. As one of the bakery's we could choose that worked with our wedding venue, this whole process was simple, fun, and personalized. The tasting we had was adorable, we sat in the bakery at our table they set up just for us and they explained everything. As someone who likes to bake myself I didn't want that "fake cake" taste or look and this was important for our special day. They did not disappoint! Our gorgeous wedding cake was the talk of the day and it was delicious! We have since been back for pastries and such and I usually tell anyone and everyone about them. If you haven't already gone here... what are you waiting for!!

For my birthday, my boyfriend commissioned a cake from Night Kitchen Bakery...as always, being loyal customers over decades, it was spectacular. He told the bakery elements about me, colors I love, themes that fit my personality, gave ideas to them and they created this. This cake is a dream come true to me. We truly were in awe by the craftsmanship and attention to detail. We did not want to cut it, I just wanted to look at it forever. We came up with taking high resolution photos to make a big framed photo of it to display in my house bc that's how amazing we found it. I truly cannot thank you enough. It's me as a cake!! This is why Night Kitchen Bakery is our #1 choice... best cakes in the world!

Yesterday was my 50th birthday y'all. Yes, my big 5-0 just happened to land in the middle of a pandemic so of course I threw one hell of a house party. And I have to say that of all the good things I received my cake was the star of the show. I've had my eye on this cake for a few years ever since a friend posted a picture of hers on Instagram. I don't indulge in sweets because I have a milk allergy but for this occasion I made an exception and it was absolutely to die for. Sweet, tart, lemony and moist, if you like lemon bars or the like you will want this cake. You don't have to special order it because it's available daily but you should call ahead if you want an inscription. And don't be ridiculous and get the small one, just hand over your 30.00 for large and thank me later.

It's a cool little cafe/coffee shop/bakery. First things first: coffee. Though I usually go for a mocha latte, they didn't have their mocha/chocolate sauce when I went. No worries, I got a regular latte. What's important here, they use coffee ice cubes in it! Yes, you're not getting a watered down coffee. This time I was tempted for some baked goods and went for a little sampling. The chocolate chip cookie, a peanut butter cookie, and a snicker doodle, plus a carrot cake cupcake. My wife ate the cupcake, and I ate most of the cookies. Each one was good in it's own way. They're large, a mix of chewy and a bit crunchy around the edges.

I had seen this place on Yelp and wanted to try it, so I marked it down in Yelp and on Google Maps as a place to check out if I was ever in the area. Just today, I had that chance when I was in the area for some blood work. Despite the name, the Night Kitchen is open early, which worked out well for me with my morning appointment. In fact, although they had probably just opened when I arrived, there were quite a few people outside waiting for their Thanksgiving orders and a fair number of people inside buying stuff. Looking at the menu on the website, I'd seen that they do a great job of marking down allergen-free items (egg, dairy, gluten, etc.), so I headed in to see what GF stuff they might have in stock. These items were the flourless chocolate cake and cupcake, the almond macaroon, and the coconut macaroon. I decided to ask for one of each of the smaller items to take to go. When we tried everything later in the day, it was all quite delicious. The cupcake has great smooth texture with deep chocolate flavor. The coconut macaroon is nice and chewy but not too crumbly. The almond macaroon is probably my favorite - hard outer shell with a very chewy interior. I would totally come back again for more baked goods, maybe even some not GF! Note, it's all street parking here, although I think some folks may have parked at Staples across the street and crossed over.

This place is just wonderful. Every time I enter I am warmly greeted by the employees as they gather what I ask to order. Paying is never an issue and the dessert is always tasty, and come in clutch when you need treats for a party or gathering. 5 stars! Ps, my lemon bar hit the spot

We had the pleasure of working with The Night Kitchen for our August '21 wedding at Morris Arboretum. Their staff was exceptionally professional and we received great consulting when choosing our cake design. They were able to accommodate us for a cake testing even with the uncertainty of the pandemic. Cake delivery and presentation on the day of our wedding was amazing! We can't thank them enough for providing the dessert for our special day!

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! My little sister works the weekend market down the street so my wife and I went over to visit her and get some veggies. Ended up getting scallops also. So I got an iced coffee because I am in need of instant gratification. Waiting for something to cool isn't my style. They have ice cubes made of coffee! I've only ever seen this done once by a coffee guru at his house that worked for La Colombe. Which is what they serve too. It's really awesome because as the ice melts it doesn't water down your drink. It strengthens it! I also got an everything bagel with Veggie cream cheese. This was excellent. One of the best I've had in a while. Especially since everywhere else started serving those Philly muffin bagels I don't like. I assume they are so good here because it's a bakery. My wife also got a blueberry muffin that I tried some of and it was perfect. Perfect amount of moist and sweet.

The Night Kitchen Bakery in Chestnut hill is absolutely fantastic! Amy is professional and extremely easy to work with. They made the cake (5 tier) for our daughter's wedding on 5.6.23 at PineCrest CC and literally everyone raved how delicious it was as were the numerous mini desserts. We highly recommend The Night Kitchen Bakery no matter what your occasion may be...the mocha cake paired w/ raspb jam is to die for as is the yellow cake w/ lemon curd. Very good. Great spot to visit in Chestnut Hill. If you blink you might miss it so be careful. Its across from staples and cvs on Germantown Ave. Try the fresh baked goods. Beat everyone to the fresh cinnamon buns. Especially on the weekends when they have fruit toppings. The chocolate cake, jewish apple & the cupcakes are personal faves. Get there early on Saturday to get to experience the farmers market on Winston. Enjoy!!!

Delicious treats and very friendly staff! I thought the coffee was delicious the desserts were amazing. A great place to drop in for a treat and also the birthday cakes looked wonderful.

Tonight's craving was a cupcake and I couldn't have been more pleased to have pulled over to satiate my craving at The Night Kitchen. The Night Kitchen is such a charming, warm and cozy bakery! All the cakes, cookies, cupcakes and more looked absolutely divine. However, since my craving was cupcakes tonight, that's what I stuck to despite being tempted to get more. Yay me! I picked one lemon curd cupcake ($3) which was yellow cake, icing and lemon curd in the middle. It was scrumptious! It was soft, had great flavor, with the perfect amount of sweetness and the lemon curd balancing it out beautifully--I savored every bite. With such a yummy dessert to smooth out the night, of course I am looking forward to trying so much more! :) Friendly service, seating inside and parking on- street. Enjoy!

The only reason I threw 1 star up, for what little filling there was in the Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, it was kind of flavorful. In addition to the annoyance of bringing a desert to a family party, which I was embarrassed of, it actually cost $28. This the 2nd let down out of 3 purchases. Over priced and way under executed, steer clear.

This is such a cute place! I love the way they make iced coffee--they give you coffee ice for you to pour hot ice over and not water down the coffee. Also I love their quiche.

We got our wedding cake here. The cream cheese frosting is to die for!!! It was a delicious cake and it turned out so beautifully. They made it exactly as we asked. Thank you Night Kitchen!

Since our kiddos weren't getting real birthday parties due to Covid, we decided to go all out on their birthday cakes. We first ordered for my son's 4th birthday after a few people recommended Night Kitchen. The cake was so great we just ordered for my daughter's 2nd. We did both cakes with 2 tiers,, one with chocolate cakes with raspberry filling, the other with funfetti with chocolate mousse filling. Both cakes were impeccably made and delicious! Highly recommend them!

The VERY best bakery in Philadelphia!!!! Their wedding cakes look extraordinary but my favorites are the carrot cake and sugar cookies! Just can't be beat!

Our go-to bakery. Everything from the muffins to the cakes are always fresh and delicious and have the perfect amount of sweetness. Our favorite is the Raspberry Chocolate Cake with white icing, which you can walk in and buy at anytime. It's so convenient for a last minute party or gathering. Great to have this gem right on Germantown Ave!

To be quite honest, I only come in for the small delights like the cookies and small morsels of cake -- but the true show stopper is the attractive cast of servers behind the counter. Particularly the one guy with the kind eyes. I've always been nervous to ask "whats his deal" so instead I ask for the delish carrot cake or lemon squares and keep it pushing. One day!

They do have great cakes and pies love that they've been in the neighborhood and continue to have good customer service and such a rustic ambiance.

We just celebrated our daughter's first birthday and asked Night Kitchen to create a Luau themed cake! I provided an image (on left) of what we wanted the cake to look like and boy did they deliver (picture on right)! It was just perfect! It tasted so good and looked amazing! This is our go to bakery! The 3rd specialty cake I've asked Night Kitchen to create for me. I've not been disappointed, they look exactly the way I wanted them and they were delicious!

The Night Kitchen Bakery did our wedding cake in September 2019. The cake was not only beautiful but delicious. My favorite was the carrot cake with cream cheese filling and the yellow cake with raspberry and lemon curd filling. Working with the Night Kitchen Bakery was a complete breeze. They're very professional and kind. You feel comfortable and confident throughout the process.

I've been ordering birthday cakes on UberEats for family members during quarantine and having them delivered. There was a mix up on UberEats one of the times and my order had been cancelled. I called The Night Kitchen to inquire about what had happened and they were so nice and helpful. Excellent customer service. & their carrot cake is out of this world!!!

I don't know what happened, we used to like it here. I should have known there were going to be issues when I called and was told that I couldn't have what I asked-about. Eventually the employee on the phone said their website wasn't up to date and it hasn't been for a while. We went in the morning and picked-up some items. Very surprised. The jumbo cookies were soft and cake-like and bland. The frosted cupcakes were weird to us; they were dense and not sweet. The carrot cupcakes tasted like bad water was used, and the lemon cupcakes "with lemon curd" were okay, but the curd was only a small drop on the top; we thought it would have been a filled cupcake (especially for the price.) Very disappointing.

We couldn't have picked a better place for our wedding! The cake tasting experience was incredible! You can't make a wrong choice! All flavors are out of this world! They are so flexible and willing to make you happy and provide whatever you're looking for. We chose to have additional "bars" as a dessert option, so delicious! Our wedding cake was exactly what we envisioned!!

My husband and I got married on 10/20/18 at the Joseph Ambler Inn and we selected Night Kitchen Bakery for our wedding cake. I'm so happy we did because everything was so easy and the cake was AMAZING! For our tasting, we got to taste 4 or 5 different cake flavors and fillings. That lemon filing...I still dream about it! We had shown the Chef some pictures of what we were thinking and wow, it was more beautiful than I had even imagined! They were even able to put a little "hidden Mickey" on the cake, as my husband and I are big Disney fans. I highly recommend Night Kitchen, you will be so happy you did!

I've made it a tradition to come here every Friday! They never seem to disappoint with an array of Tasty treats. The young ladies that work here are always very polite and patient as I take a while to decide from all the delicious choices. When in doubt, give the jumbo cookies a try, that's my safe choice.. and yes they are JUMBO

While we absolutely loved our cross between Harry Potter & The Nightmare Before Christmas cake & it tasted delicious, we were completely bummed about the color of the cake being WRONG. The bottom layer was NOT supposed to be blue. It was supposed to be purple and wine to match our theme. Unfortunately, it wound up completely clashing.* * The @nightkitchenbakery just called to apologize and said that it must have changed color while being stored in the fridge, they offered no discount because it was part of our wedding package we paid good money for. They didn't even offer us a small gift card for their bakery which I told the woman we loved. All she said was sorry! But to me, sorry didn't cut the cake. I mean, you couldnt even invite us back to have lunch or a couple of coffees on the house?! Booo * Seriously though.... not even "oh come in for lunch or coffee on us?!" Update: it's been almost a month since my honest and not at all unreasonable business review from our experience & I was just sent a DM from some guy named Robert who completely lost his crap over what I wrote. He said some really nasty and over the top things to me like, "I'm what's wrong with America" ....really Robert? Am I?! All because I was upset about my wedding cake and left a review on a review website?!?! That's what this IS ya know! You said you want to come to my work and harass and berate me? Okay cool. You aren't at ALL taking things a little too personal. Nope. Not at all. #blocked

Their lemon curd cake is so yummy and beautiful! It was so delicious! The staff are friendly and professional! Many other tasty items to choose from on the menu. Word to the wise, arrive early to get those sticky buns!

Great little bakery here in Chestnut Hill. From the cakes, to the cupcakes, to the cheesecakes, cookies, and danishes. This place has all you could want in the way of sweet treats. Great place if you just want to drop in and grab a snack or even a cake for a small gathering of friends. If you have a little time on your hands and want something special you can sit down with their cake designers and create something all your own. My fiance had my "The Office" themed cake designed here for my birthday and it was a big hit at my party. I posted a picture for you to check out. In things that are available every day, I have a few favorites. For a small treat, the cupcake sized cheesecake is amazing and its only a buck. If you're in for breakfast or brunch time, the Strata is incredible. So much flavor and huge chunks of bacon, you can't go wrong. My all time favorite has to be the praline cake with hazelnut buttercream. This is seriously the best tasting cake I've ever tasted. I will get it again. They've expanded their business recently so there is more than enough room for you to drop by, get some pastries and a coffee or tea and sit and relax. If you're in the area and craving something sweet, give this a try.

Always incredible. I've been coming here for at least a decade and I'm glad to see they're still around. I've ordered custom cakes for special occasions and stop in regularly for a good cup of coffee and a sweet treat. Their carrot cake is delicious. Surprisingly they have a few other items that make for a quick and yummy lunch. Their tuna salad sandwich is A+.

Ummmm......yeah these are not for me at ALL!! I bought 3 cupcakes and couldn't get a past a bite of each both vanilla cupcakes were under baked...blaaah!! The red velvet was rock hard and tasteless. I wanted to support them but the quality was odd. The icing was not sweet and very bitter. I feel really bad about writing this review. But absolutely unacceptable. They have a help wanted sign in the window I hope they can work with their bakers to step up the quality of their products. They gave me a refund which was nice of them. But their other pastries looked really nice just wasn't willing to try anything else. It's a no for me. I was going to buy 2 dozen for an event tomorrow. But will keep searching. :-(

Best bakery! I ordered a specialty cake for my husband's 60th birthday party. They were to create a suitcase made out of cake with pictures of our family at various destinations we traveled to. It was incredible! They delivered an absolutely beautiful cake which exceeded all my expectation. Not only was it delicious but it looked like a real suitcase and several of my guests attempted to open it to see what was inside. I highly recommend night kitchen bakery! I will definitely be back!
