Night Mares / Prarie Baking - Review - Munjoy Hill - Portland, ME - The Infatuation
"If you learn about this spot from a local, inevitably, they’ll stop mid-sentence to gesticulate just how good the cake is. During the first part of the week, Prairie Baking is not open to the public and produces cakes for weddings and parties. But on the weekends, it’s open both as the bar Night Mares and a cafe in the mornings. The bar has a suite of standout cocktails like a spritz that combines Oyster River pet-nat with some yuzu sake, a few taps of local beer, great goùgeres, and a laid-back atmosphere. In the morning, pop in for coffee and any of a dozen types of pastries and cookies. And whether you come at night or during the day, obviously get a slice of layer cake." - Olex Ponomarenko
Excellent craft drinks and beer/cider selection !!! Really cosy and cool vibe/music as a place and crowd. The staff was very knowledgable and professional. It's one of the most chill spots in Portland, Maine by far. During the day its a bakery (lucky if you get to try their goods) while having a drink & at night a craft cocktail bar. A destination for anyone that wants to have a good vibe night !!!

This is a great place to visit day or night. We first visited in the morning for great coffee and wonderful pastries baked on the premises by one of the owners.
We followed this by a night visit . Bar staff were warm welcoming. Great cocktails and again home made snacks.
Atmosphere is chilled and a great place to meet friends. Would recommend the mojotos .

I went on a Thursday in summertime and it was too loud for me. I've been there during slower times and have been able to have a quiet conversation and play cards.
They have cake, and it's very, very good. Cocktails are also good and the bartenders are very attentive and kind.

Neat, dimmly lit, speakeasy type vibe. Drinks were great. The issue ... One person working on a Saturday night! I give the poor guy a lot of credit, but wait times suffered badly. There should have been two people on staff.

Amazing cocktails! Make sure to visit this hidden gem! We had the Green Ghoul cocktail and a slice of cake. The cocktails and cake felt like works of art. Truly in a league of their own. We will be back!

Cute unique police on the East End. Wouldn’t have even known it was there except Google maps sent me to the location. I love what they’ve done. Definitely a good spot to go chill

Night Mares is a MUST GO! The drinks were delicious and the bartenders were so friendly and fun to talk to! We got nightmares on the prairie (pictured below) and the cucumber mint gimlet. Thanks for the amazing time! 😀

Incredible! A hidden gem that I argue is one of the best bars in town. They have a well balanced cocktail menu that would appeal to anyone's spirit of choice (The Green Ghoul is my absolute favorite). The staff are always friendly and the place has great vibes.

Yelp
I just recently heard of this place, so my friend and I stopped by for a drink. It's located right behind Hardshore Distillery in an old industrial building. They renovated it really nice with a big garage door they can open so it has an indoor outdoor feel. The drinks I got were good and refreshing. Overall a cool new spot!

Yelp
I fear the location too remote and they might have trouble getting patrons but yo this place fux. Cocktails are the new dopeness. I had one drink here and it blew my mind. Super chill venue. If you have a hot date and you trying to get some intimate quality time this place is gonna impress.
