Google
Great neighborhood bar with a pool table. The drinks are cheap for Austin and the bartender and patrons were all very friendly to a stranger like myself who popped in on a Sunday afternoon. The pizza truck out front was great, and the NightOwl allows you to eat it inside while you knock back a cold drink--full service bar, too. Best of all dogs are allowed inside on a hot summer day which pretty much makes this place a new favorite when I'm out with my Aussies and need a cool respite from Austin's continuous 100s summers. The bartender was super nice--that too left a lasting impression of what everyone likes over someone who's tired, cranky, or self-absorbed--really cheery spot.

Walked in with few friends after a long day at the work. From the beginning the bartender had a still against us. One the girl that was with us forget her ID at the car. By the time she came back with the ID the bartender she was already yelling and screaming asking to leave for now reason. I hate to say this but this really felt like a racist person, I don't even speak Spanish and she was telling me to go back to Mexico. Do yourself a favor and find a different place to enjoy with your friends.

Google
Just FYI I didn't eat anything. I don't think they have food. There is a good pizza truck right outside. Good place to chill and watch sports w friends.

Google
Stumbled upon this neighborhood bar and love it. Such a diverse group of regulars and quality bartenders. Will continue to frequent this gem.

Google
We had the best unexpected experience at this bar. We did not intend to visit but had ordered pizza at Pedrosos trailer next door & had to wait 20 minutes for or order. Needless to say we were met with the most kind & personable bar tender. The drinks were very reasonably priced & she was on top of our service. The regular clientele were classy & friendly folks and we plan to return regularly on sundays to keep in touch. We were made to feel like we were at home. Such a great experience

Google
Great drinks & the bartender is always making some crazy new (but super good) drink. Every time I’ve been the bartender (who I assume has some ownership interest) offers a new drink he’s trying out. And each time, it’s. awesome. The last time I went it was a strange combination of flavors (orange juice, cilantro etc) I didn’t think I would like but I ended up LOVING it. So, something to be said for the bartender. The place itself is chill, good vibes.

I love this little spot. Good drinks. Great atmosphere. Wonderful bartenders.

Google
Night Owl is a very great place for a drink and some good conversation. My friends and I were looking for something to do on a Saturday night that wasn’t too crazy. Night Owl absolutely completed to task of being a down to Earth neighborhood bar. We got the Allandale with a substitute vodka instead gin and it was DELICIOUS! They also have a magnificent selection of local draft beers for beer drinkers.

Yelp
Great local bar. Good people and good drinks. Nice spot to have a beer and wind down. No food but food trucks right across the street.

Maria H.

Yelp
Local chill spot. Cocktails on point. Dropped in to cool off and it did not disappoint.

Susette D.

Yelp
This is a bar, a bar with concrete floor and a very good Italian food truck outside. Drinks are good. Music machine of some sort. Don't remember a tv for sports. Our friends have crowned it their favorite dive bar.

Pam M.

Yelp
Cocktails are good but ambiance is super loud. Recommend for a celebration but not a date night or quiet hang out.

Josh P.

Yelp
Cool little neighborhood dive bar. We stopped after a game at q2 yesterday and ordered 2 brentwoods, straight bourbon, and also a "happy meal." Good prices and tasty drinks. I really enjoyed the brentwood and my buddy appreciated his whiskey which was old grandad. Cant go wrong with a happy meal anytime... (lone star and shot of whiskey)

Mariel T.

Yelp
Solid neighborhood spot, with excellent drinks and a dive feel. We got the crestview (lemon on lemon on lemon) and an old fashioned. Both decently priced for Austin!

Lauren S.

Yelp
They were clearly still working out their new virtual ordering system with the Union app. Maybe it'll go more smoothly in the future. My bee sting cocktail was good, but not $12 good. On the plus side, the PacMan machine was cheap!

Elton R.

Yelp
What a great little bar! Super friendly and Jerry the bartender is awesome! Highly recommend!!!

Noah B.

Yelp
Great and friendly service, well-rounded selection of drinks, place smells amazing. Chill vibe to talk with friends or get some work done. Made the trip up to Leander from Downtown Austin for the day - great end to it! Ian and Brie were awesome bartenders.

Bill G.

Yelp
Great little bar on North Burnet Rd. Stopped in to have a quick drink while waiting for a food order. They have local beer but I was in the mood for a Whiskey drink. I had an old fashioned with a quality whiskey and it was mighty fine. The bartender was friendly. they have televisions for sports and a pool table. Stop by and have a drink if you're in the area. If you want to watch a game, eat some awesome Pizza from the food truck in the parking lot. Win win.

Yelp
This bar sucks. I have been short-changed $20 on a hundred TWICE here, but never anywhere else in all my dealings in Austin. It seems to be the way the bartenders pay themselves (as though my usual 20%+ tips aren't enough). Most bars that charge $14 for a cocktail have tax included in that. Not here. And after Austin's 8% tax they put an additional 4% charge "for credit card fees" whether you pay with CC or with cash. We're at almost $16 now, and that's before tip. I have been going to this bar on and off for three years, and while there's one bartender who treats me well (thank you, Olivia) others (Katie, Jared) seem to think rudeness is part of the "dive bar vibe." Last night, after asking the 4% be removed because I was paying cash, I asked why a Lemon Drop was $14 plus $1.50 "rocks fee" and the bartender calls across the bar "he doesn't want to pay his tab." What the heck? You already overcharged me once on this tab. I'm allowed to ask why the bill is so crazy. $15.50 for a Lemon Drop and you're going to shame me for asking? I'm not dealing with that. There's lots of better places to go, too bad this one is so close by I would be dropping by all the time (as I used to) but I'm not going back. I hate paying premium money to be treated rudely and ripped off. And the bathrooms are gross.

Yelp
This definitely has more of a Dive feel. Good mixed drinks, they made me a taste strong old fashioned. Plus they have a weekly cocktail mix they mix up on the bar. In a huge jar! Be careful the mix I tried was like a sweet trash can punch that snuck up on me!

Ileiana T.

Yelp
Cool little neighborhood bar. This place has a new tiki menu (I'm a big fan ok tiki drinks) they come in cute cups and taste delicious. Also they have a pool table which is always a plus for me. Next time I gotta try the food.

Megan G.

Yelp
Small neighborhood type bar. If you want to socialize more you can sit at the bar or if you'd just like a private convo, the tables are quiet enough. Love that they have the pizza truck outside. Makes a pretty decent old fashioned

John B.

Yelp
Came here early on a Saturday night. They had some interesting cocktails that we tried. I couldn't play pool because Jeff Bezos was hogging the table with his 6'2" girlfriend in the shortest Daisy Dukes you can get away with and a lace up shirt that left nothing to the imagination. I love a good show and this place delivered. We left when more of the Saturday night crowd came in. This is a nice little hidden gem on Burnet Rd.

Imogen S.

Yelp
Great drinks. Quiet on a late Friday afternoon. Wish I had tried the pizza from the truck out front because smelling it without trying it was torture!

Caitlin D.

Yelp
This place has improved a lot since it opened and we are happy to have a bar in our neighborhood but OH MY GOD THE MUSIC IS SO BAD. I would die happy if I never had to see another god damn Touch Tunes again in my life... That said, chill on a Saturday, good beer selection, good pizza truck. Fix. The. Music.

Noanya S.

Yelp
New local bar and when I say bar I mean bar, no food but super cute and quaint. The bartenders are friendly and didn't disappoint making our drinks. The menu consists of drinks named after nearby neighborhoods, which is a nice touch. Super attentive and engaging owner, I'll definitely be back and can see this being a new local gem

Mindy H.

Yelp
Night Owl is a gem of a neighborhood bar. It is a great place to meet up before going out, or enjoy an after dinner drink. It is everything a great neighborhood place should have - a couple of TV's, a shuffle board, some games, comfortable seating, good brews, craft cocktails, community events w/ life music (check their FB page), and a friendly bartender. Their copper bar top is beautiful. They have an all night happy hour on Monday, and different happy hour specials throughout the week. This place is SMALL! They don't even have beer on tap. They do have a weekly rotating list of local beers in cans. Their cocktail menu is creative. They mix up some great drinks with quality liquors and ingredients. I tried the Wooten with some bourbon, amaretto, ginger beer, and pineapple juice. A refreshing drink on a hot day. It is dangerously smooth and juicy. I want to try their mule next time, as they have a house infused pineapple vodka that they use in their mule. Their wine list is non existent. This isn't a spot for wine. There is no food menu It's just great local drinks with friendly peeps.

DaLila G.

Yelp
Super chill vibes, Even my friends who don't like going out like to go there with me. Super clean too which u appreciate. Keep up the good work

Josh L.

Yelp
Great folks, great drinks, great location! Try the Wooten! Such an amazing drink. Lots of seating, yet small and cozy. Did I mention they have great drinks?

Brittany P.

Yelp
Drinks are beautifully poured, very eclectic space for the area as well! Inside has multiple seating options, and the outside a few simple benches. Perfect local bar.

Katherine M.

Yelp
Badass bar that's new to the area. Cool vibe, and great drinks, they have a great happy hour (every day) and overall, just a very cool space. I'd definitely comeback, often.

Jana N.

Yelp
Wow. This venue has only been open once during business hours when I have tried to hang out. Once was on a Saturday. Update your hours please.

Matthew C.

Yelp
I really don't get all of the 5 star reviews. Not saying that to be condescending, I just really don't see what other people see in this place. In fact since it's the second closest bar to my apartment, I was really hoping to like this place. I really can't think of any redeeming features though. It's like they're trying to be a cross between a fancy cocktail bar and a dive bar, but end up with the worst of both. No beers on tap, everything's expensive, and the service was aloof. I could deal with that in exchange for ambiance or a vibrant crowd, but the aesthetic/atmosphere isn't picking up the slack. The thing is, this place has a lot of potential to be either a top notch dive bar or a top notch cocktail bar. Someone just needs to pick a direction and adjust accordingly. (Also just wanted to clear this up: there was no sign that they have a happy hour. I went on a Monday night after reading they have HH all night, but there was no happiness to be found.)

Marie M.

Yelp
Nice little neighborhood bar. Thrilled to have a Wooten watering hole. Rob and his crew are really laid back and friendly. They have a nice selection of beer, wine, and liquor. They offer some nicely done craft cocktails, too. A shuffleboard table, a few t.v.s, and some high tables with chairs round out the furnishings. Ample seating and bar seating, too. They have seasonal cocktails-I'm hoping they have the peppermint mocha again this year-delicious! They've also had some special events where they partner with food providers. Be sure to stop by if you're in the area!

Cathy B.

Yelp
This is a nice little place. Quiet. I've never been there when it's been super-crowded (which is a plus for me, but probably not for the business). They make a nice cocktail and the servers are friendly. Pro tip: parking can be tricky, so consider using rideshare.

Svetlana M.

Yelp
We had so much fun here. The bartenders were fantastic and the vibe was really great. I would def go back.

Leah R.

Yelp
So, this is now the closest bar to my house, and it's one that I don't even need to cross a major street to get to, and it's been open for months and I've never been there. Whaaaa??? Here's the thing. Let's get it over with. They don't have food. Typically, lately, if I'm leaving the house to drink, it's before or after a dinner. So, there hasn't been the draw to go here. However, this ended up being a stop on the way home from a late Sunday brunch one day, and we figured we'd give it one drink. It ended up being a few more than that because it was a really great place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon. I'll channel my inner Tina Fey and say that they make an EXCELLENT whiskey in a glass. I'm actually serious though, they have the awesome giant ice cubes and a decent selection to pour over it. My husband's happy hour 4$ house margs were super tasty as well. There was the Chive TV to watch, which is always entertaining. There was shuffleboard and other games to keep us entertained. What stood out though, was our bartender was SUPER friendly (sadly, after a few whiskey-in-a-glasses, I don't remember his name) and we chatted a lot. We're super excited to return. After lunch or dinner, of course!

Yasmine J.

Yelp
I'm beyond delighted that we finally visited this place last night. I truly feel as though we've found our new "spot." First of all, the area is quite far from downtown - meaning that parking is plentiful and the atmosphere inside is very relaxing and homey. Bar seating is beautifully wrapped around the bar, making it a great location to have conversation with the staff. On that note, Rob and Matt were absolutely excellent. Rob is extremely knowledgeable about cocktails and is clearly very passionate about his craft. Matt checked in on our group and provided great recommendations. Both provided great conversation - something about this bar that I really appreciated. The drinks were excellent. Very fairly priced and crafted right in front of you. I had the Bee's Knees and The Mule, both of which tasted superb. Their specialty cocktails are named after neighborhoods in Austin, which is a nice, local touch. Other members of my group ordered the Mezcal Paloma, the Burnet, and the Allandale, which they enjoyed as well. Overall, I'm truly excited for the next time I visit Night Owl. The service, cocktails, and ambiance are top notch. As I mentioned earlier, I've truly found my new hang-out.

Fabiola T.

Yelp
Probably my new best neighborhood bar !!!!friendly staff , great drinks come and check it out !

Sandra M.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped for a drink last night and it was awesome. It's very cozy (think Tigress) with a great cocktail and beer menu. I had the Wooten cocktail, which had bourbon, amaretto, pineapple juice, and ginger beer. It was extremely smooth and tasty. He had a Texas Mule and his drink was very tasty as well. The only thing I wish they had was a better wine selection. The only had two wines and a prosecco. The wine had to be bought as a half bottle, which would be okay if they had a bigger selection. The staff was super friendly and they mentioned that they might get some food trucks in the future, which would make this place even better. Overall, really good place! I'm looking forward to see where it goes.

Shannon R.

Yelp
My new favorite neighborhood bar. I've checked it out about 4 times now and each time is just as fun and friendly as the last. All the bartenders I've met are genuinely friendly, fun and very easy to talk to. Monday happy hour all night. WHOOP!!

Rose V.

Yelp
Love this place! Its small BUT its a cool little dive. Good music & great drinks. Nice pool table with room to play. Intimate seating for two. Has nice little patio outside to smoke if you want.

Kim J.

Yelp
Super weird experience here and won't be coming back-- I live in the area and had a friend in town so after dinner we wanted to grab 1 more drink. I was excited to find this place! I go to the bar to order us a drink & the bartender (short brunette, maybe had purple in hair) wouldn't serve me, just helped others one after the other & ignored me. I'm super sweet to anyone in restaurant/bar industry because I appreciate them but I tried being patient & was so confused why I was being ignored. So this sweet gal at the bar sees me getting frustrated and tried helping me get the bartenders attention. The bartender got all pissy with her for asking & finally acknowledged me in a very unfriendly tone compared to all of her other customers (who she was a big social butterfly with). I'm not sure what I did wrong to deserve that treatment but I wanted to tell her that I'm very sorry I inconvenienced her (yes, snarky tone).

Junus A.

Yelp
I love this neighborhood cocktail bar. The bartenders are so friendly, and the drinks are so well prepared. They have a great pared down drink menu, consisting of their own house cocktails (named after surrounding neighborhoods) and more classic offerings. You can bring outside food and also your dog. My favorite drink here is the mezcal old fashioned. The honey and aztec chocolate bitters give it a really special flavor.

Sarah E.

Yelp
Had a good date here. The cocktails are delicious. Bathrooms are clean. 8/10 would come back for another date night spot. No food, but good drinks. Owner works super hard.

Ellie M.

Yelp
Wow! What a great surprise! Rob is a great bartender. The mixed drinks were perfect and very different. Chill atmosphere. They have seating around the bar and tables. They also have a Jenga and a Shuffle board. Would highly recommend!

Jon D.

Yelp
I like this place. Small and cozy with what looks like something of a regular clientele. The bar staff is excellent. They made the drinks quickly and introduced themselves so I could ask for them by name if I wanted anything else. They have live music at certain times also. The only reason I gave it four instead of five stars is even after the live music is over it is still a bit loud and not conducive to carrying on a conversation if you are with someone. But overall a really nice place and I will be back!

Michael S.

Yelp
Excellent bar with awesome atmosphere. The Bartenders are really cool people that make you feel at home. Highly recommended!!!

A S.

Yelp
After a few failed attempts (too tired after work) I finally made it to Night Owl. I enjoyed the cozy, neighborhood feel. I went on a Sunday night around 9 and there were about 10 people there. The drinks and service were good and the location is good for northern Austinites. I look forward to going back to try more of their drinks.

Lisa F.

Yelp
Loved it, went here with my bf recently and was pleasantly surprised by the bartenders and drink menu! This is a classy dive bar when it's not Friday or Saturday night!

Andrea B.

Yelp
I went to night owl on the opening night and it EXCEEDED all of my expectations! The atmosphere was so awesome! The staff was more than friendly and the drinks were AMAZING! I will definitely be back and I cant wait! SO happy to have this local neighborhood bar! Even better then all of the above, they carry Austin Beer and Liquor! Thanks for keeping it all local from beginning to end! I love this place!

Jax T.

Yelp
Great local bar. Has live music and a patio. Just a little loud inside if you want to carry on a conversation. even without the live music.

Brittany A.

Yelp
I love this place so much. I've been coming here for the last year or so and it's pretty rare to find such a great spot with consistently great service and good prices. The bartenders are fantastic and very personable, it instantly makes you feel at home. No judgement here, just great drinks and good people.

Terrance G.

Yelp
So my wife and I recently visited New Owl while we were visiting some friends and were blown away. Amazing Vibes and great Drinks. We enjoyed the cocktails and how passionate Rob seemed about making are drinks!!!! Definetly will stop by on our next visit!!

Jessica B.

Yelp
Very hipster... lots of frou-frou drinks. Not my kind of place but the bartender was awesome. Rob I think his name was? I won't be back but can't bring myself to rate it less than 5 since it would be a great spot for folks who like their bars bright and their drinks pink.

Aimee B.

Yelp
We were looking for a casual late night spot for some strong and tasty drinks and Night Owl did not disappoint. Rob served us fantastic Old Fashioneds and gin-based drinks. The music playlist took us back to our angsty teenage years (in a fun way) and the crowd was older (see: not college) but boisterous. Overall, it checked all the boxes we wanted for a chill, fun, memorable bar worth revising. 10/10 would drink here again!
