At Chelo, Chef Luna Contreras Pays Homage to Her Grandmother With Mexican Snacks | Eater Portland

"Opened in late 2020 by Contreras with bartender Chris Mateja and with Contreras departing in spring 2021, Nightingale helped establish her vegetable-heavy, contemporary Mexican cooking; its tres leches cake in particular developed a devoted following and later appeared at her Chelo pop-up." - Alex Frane

I got a DoorDash order, and it was absolutely delightful! I ordered lemon blueberry pancakes and farmers market fruit. Even though it was an order that had ridden around in a DoorDasher’s car for 30 minutes, it was still a 5-star experience. The flavor and consistency of the pancakes with the mascarpone and blueberry was perfectly balanced. I don’t even like mascarpone, and this was divine. This restaurant understands food presentation as an art. It was beautiful, and tasted just as good as one would hope.

Everything on the menu sounds great. I had the Coco Salmon which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Would love to come back and try the brunch menu and drinks. Staff was attentive without being intrusive or overbearing, so I thought the service was perfect

I've tried several dishes here, from the Cali Bacon Burrito to the Combo Fried Rice, and overall, it's been a decent experience. It's a small, tucked-away spot with a laid-back vibe and average service. I like sitting outside by the fountain; it's a relaxing spot to enjoy the breeze and grab a bite. Portions are fair for the price, but the flavors are pretty middle-of-the-road. I came back to try the Crying Tiger, though it didn't really stand out; the presentation was messy and the dish itself just felt average. The server could be a bit friendlier with a smile, and it's strange that they have a visible Wi-Fi network but no access (maybe because of their 90-minute dining limit?). Overall, not a bad place, but nothing that really wowed me; a fair 3-star experience.

Super cute place located in Bella Terra. The place is more of a brunch spot but also sells Asian fare (particularly Thai). All our food came out super delicious. I ordered The Bennie. It came with a side of salad and fruit on top and the salad dressing was some sort of fruit pureé. My only issue was that the egg Benedicts weren't necessarily hot, and the fruit weren't in season as it was oranges and strawberries. But the food was still delicious regardless. I also ordered the matcha strawberry drink which was pretty good. My sister ordered the steak platter and the assam milk tea and my cousin ordered the burrito with a vanilla latte, and we also ordered a plate of tater tots to share. I personally also fell in love with the decor. It is very cutely decorated with pinks and blues. Great for social media pictures. Overall, we had a pretty pleasant experience here. I would like to try some of the other items on the menu.

Tried this place for the first time and I have to say it was a great experience. Staff is friendly. The atmosphere is very welcoming... and the food is amazing. Perfect place to have a girls day or a special occasion celebration. I will def be back.

Google
Steak was over salted, and chilaquiles were what you would expect them to be given the establishment. Lemonade was delicious and would recommend, but strawberry lychee cocktail was a hard pass. The inside of the restaurant was very instagramable, and they even had someone playing the violing when we first arrived, very cute vibes. The tables are quite small given the size of the restaurant, so there is not much room on your table to be comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, it's a very cute brunch spot with a great menu selection, I'll have to visit again to really give a proper rating of their food.

Very good options for Breakfast and Lunch, the food was tasty, the service was great. My Daughter loved her French Toast. I can't wait to come back and try the Mimosa Flight. Came Back and had the Mimosa Flight, it didn't disappoint.

My husband and I have tried Nightingale a few times since it’s so close to where I live. The ambiance is very cute! It’s a little cafe style restaurant that definitely gives off social media vibes. The decor is perfect for snapping cute photos for the ‘gram. That said, sometimes the wait to be seated can be a bit long depending on when you go. The first time my husband went he was basically ignored until he flagged someone down for a table. Another time we tried going for breakfast and the wait was over and hour for a table of two. So bear that in mind if you’re going on a weekend or busy time that the wait may be long. The service could also use some help. They seem to be short staffed every time we go. It looks like a family owned business so maybe they work with who they have but I think adding a couple extra waiters would benefit them greatly. It can take a bit of time for them to come around to take orders and they seem to forgot if something is requested. With all that said, the food is pretty good! My husband and I usually share the Cali bacon burrito. The last time we visited it seems to have shrunk in size. Or i remember the burrito being bigger the first two times we went. Nonetheless, it is good! I usually ask for a side of sour cream or extra salsa to go on top. My husband ordered the Strawberry white mocha last time we visited. It’s very strong and I didn’t taste much strawberry in it so I wouldn’t really recommend. If you’re looking for a cutely decorated cafe for insta-worthy pictures this is definitely the place! Their food is not bad. Pricey, but that’s to be expected being in HB. I wouldn’t mind going back since it’s close to me. Just not on the weekend.

Yelp
Strawberry shortcake French toast - thought there was too much shortcake crumbles which made dish really sweet, toast was buttery and chewy, not too big of a fan bc it's too sweet Lomo Saltado Omelet - highly recommend if you're trying to hit your protein goal and want something savory, unique, and delicious! I love the lomo gravy sauce, it's savory and added sooo much flavor to the steak + eggs + potatoes + onions. perfectly seasoned and such a creative omelet, the best brunch omelets I've had! Lemon blueberry hot cakes - LOVE THIS, the cream balances out the blueberry tartness and sweet syrup. I didn't really taste any lemon, would prob prefer a stronger flavor profile. But overall very solid sweet dish! Staff friendly and service quick. Parking is free and easy. Highly recommend trying their creative lattes!

Yelp
Ah, the Nightingale! I recently came back here on another beloved foodie adventure with a buddy for some brunch and was in for quite the treat! Located at Bella Terra in Huntington Beach, The Nightingale is a flowery and aesthetically inviting spot. On a Saturday afternoon, it was a bit busy but luckily nothing too crazy due to the rainy weather out. We ordered the Maple Bacon Breakfast Sandwich and Classic Breakfast Burrito and both were awesome and did not disappoint taste and flavor-wise. Portions could've been a bit better but luckily we weren't too hungry and they were offering a really sweet complimentary snack and pastry station alongside our meal which was awesome. More of a small pet peeve of mine, but it did irk me how our table rocked a bit during the whole time (like c'mon, such a simple fix) but gratefully the ambiance inside is so stellar that it really didn't matter in the grand scheme of things! The staff members here are always friendly and accommodating which is always cool of-course. I'd definitely be back here and totally feel free to give it a try if you particularly crave an ambiance!

Yelp
An aesthetically pleasing brunch spot in Bella Terra. It's a little small inside, but a very pretty restaurant from the decor to the plating of the dishes. The menu is extensive. The Strawberry Shortcake French Toast was mostly good; maybe a little dry, but the strawberries were very fresh. The service could use some improvement, as we were only one of two parties seated (the other was already eating), and it took so long for someone to come take our order that we were wondering if we were supposed to order at the counter. However, the wait between ordering and getting our food was very short (since we were the only order), and we got the check promptly after we finished eating. Overall, a pleasant experience. Next time I'm in the area, I hope to come back to try another dish and their matcha drinks!

Yelp
Love this spot! Conveniently located with lots of shopping around, it's the perfect place to start the day. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. I prefer indoor dining as the decorations are beautiful and the entire Cafe is photo friendly. My last visit was during the holidays, therefore, extra holiday decor and treats were available. The food is fantastic! I've tried several dishes and beverages, and enjoyed each one. Orders are taken at the counter with food brought to your table. The place is clean and service was great, with tables cleared for us once we were finished. The only downside is parking can be a bit tough at times (weekends and holidays), otherwise, I'd consider there to be plenty of spaces. Definitely a place I'd recommend!

Yelp
Came across this place by accident and so happy we did! It is so cutely decorated inside and the owner was so sweet and welcoming. Ordered the açaí bowl and bacon and egg sandwich and both were so good! The açaí bowl tasted really fresh and they have a BOGO 50% off option as well. They put out free treats like macarons and cookies for their customers too which I think is so sweet. Would definitely comeback here and recommend for anyone looking for great breakfast options and Thai food

Yelp
Such a great spot. The food was super tasty with lots of yummy options, and everything was beautifully presented. The customer service was amazing, and the inside is super cute. I cannot wait to come back and try more of what they have to offer. Everything from the food to the service made this a really enjoyable visit.

Yelp
Hmm, I can't say that I'm over the moon about Nightingale due to my recent experience. I appreciate the staff for doing their best when short staffed, but the quality fell short even in our food. We were not told that we had to go up and order and was left thinking they forgot about us, but they probably realized once we were sat down for a while. It is more casual for a brunch place than I thought as water cups were also self serve. Utensils were provided depending on what dishes were ordered. Smoked Salmon Toast (2/5): This was probably my least favorite salmon toast I've had by far, sadly! The multigrain toast was cold, the cream cheese ratio was spread so thin and that single layer of smoked salmon made this toast so so weak, and is definitely an item that can be recreated at home. Lomo Saltado Omelet (3/5): The Filet Mignon just didn't quite taste similar to what I've had in a Lomo Saltado at other restaurants. The meat was a bit salty, and the eggs were more of a scramble than an omelet shape. Crab Cake Benny (2.5/5): I was not a fan of it either, as I felt like I was eating fried crab cake batter. The side salad was sliced lettuce, carrots, purple cabbage, and strawberry slices, which did not come with anything else, which I found very peculiar, but healthy I suppose. The Acai Bowl was actually the best thing out of our order, we loved the chia pudding and almond butter. I think these dishes could be improved but maybe it was just due to the staffing that day. I'm not entirely certain but I am glad to have tried it and mark it off my brunch list.

Yelp
I love it here. The food is always amazing and the service is even better! I've been here a couple times and today I tried some of their soupy dishes. So much flavor in the oxtail soup you don't even need to add anything else. Their seafood tom kha is packed with spices that balances out with the coconut base. This bowl was huge and had so much shrimp and crab meat. Of course can't forget about the crying tiger. Always a hit

Yelp
Food was delicious and came out fairly quickly. I was surprised that the food actually tasted as good as it looked. Service was fast and friendly. Food and drinks came out quicker than anticipated. Starting off with the iced biscoff latte. It had a nice balance of coffee flavor and sweetness without being overly sweet. The açaí was so refreshing. The flavor and texture was good. The açaí and blue ocean together tasted amazing. The tres leches hot cakes were 10/10 fluffy and delicious. The Bennies with crab cakes were tasty and the poached eggs was perfectly cooked 10/10. The strawberry French toast was on the sweeter side 7/10. The lomo omelette was flavorful 10/10. Based on my first experience I'm coming back.

Yelp
The good: They take reservations. They have indoor and outdoor seating areas. They have cute pink and white outdoor umbrellas. I got the Cambodian oxtail noodle soup from the chef's special menu ($22), nam tok (waterfall) and fried tofu triangles as an appetizer. I also got a peach iced tea (huge volume!). The oxtail soup was great and I loved the fat and soft noodles. It was very much like pho without the beansprouts. It was my favorite dish. I loved all of the lime, jalapeno, raw onion, cilantro and green onion they gave. It was a super filling meal. I loved the crunch on the fried tofu and how it wasn't too greasy. The dishes came out quickly and were garnished with pretty orchids. The bad: The faux flowers aren't as nice for ambience for they make for cute photos. The oxtail noodle soup was definitely more expensive than an average bowl of pho. The nam tok had delicious flavors but was too salty. It needed a lot of rice to balance it. The rice was also on the dry side. I wish it were stickier. The interesting: The menu is a bit all over the place. There's a breakfast menu with burritos, omelettes, pancakes and chilaquiles. There's the lunch menu with Thai foods. Then there's the acai menu which is BOGO on weekdays (except Tuesdays they're closed). It looked delicious (especially the $19 strawberry Dubai chocolate one). You order at the counter. The inside had balloons setup and a dessert table. I wasn't sure if it was for a special event they hosted or if they are always set up like that.

Yelp
Nightingale has some of the freshest açaí bowls around. Love all the fruit options, especially since they have mango and kiwi. The woman I believe to be the owner is always so nice. She even gave me this drink for free, since she was taking photos for their menus. Super cute spot for brunch, as well. Their noodle soups are pretty darn good.

Yelp
Came upon this spot via a friend's suggestion and it was a good one! The food is delicious and so much to choose from. They have great variety between savor dishes and some of your fave breakfast craves. I highly recommend the cookie butter french toast, which was delish! Their teas are also very good. My go-to is the peach lychee green tea. It can get packed, so make sure you get here early to enjoy good seating and the good food. Service can be better. They have tables inside and outside, and they tend to forget about the outside tables.

Yelp
If you're looking for a cute brunch with amazing food execution this is the spot. Aside from the pretty food decorations the tasting was spot on. We opted for the Thai option and was not disappoint, especially the pad Thai and tom kha soup 10/10. Service was excellent and food came out fairly quickly given the restaurant was full at the time. They even have the free dessert table for customers with cute little desserts. Would definitely be back for their brunch menu.

Yelp
Cute Thai-brunch fusion place located in Bella Terra. We ordered the Thai crab omelette and chorizo burrito and both were very tasty. The omelette wasn't exactly authentic but had the core essence that made sense in a fusion context. The burrito was really tasty and the salsa that accompanied it took it to the next level. There was even a table that had complimentary fruits! Overall, great brunch place that I would visit again if I was in the area.

Yelp
First off, Nightingale only takes reservations. This wonderful spot is right next to Solita, located in K-2 plaza across from a water fountain (across from Old Navy). If you happen to go towards T-Mobile, you'll be in the wrong area, my friend. I ordered the oxtail Kathiew flat noodle soup, while Mom went for the filet mignon Kathiew. Izzy enjoyed a sausage burger with avocados and a refreshing strawberry lemonade. Jenny is truly amazing! I genuinely mean it--she goes the extra mile to ensure her customers are happy. Shout out to Erick and the staff for their exceptional service as well. The ambiance and vibe of this place are perfect for brunch. I can't wait to return on one of these Tuesdays for their Açaí bowls!

Yelp
It's a great place to have brunch with friends or go on a date. The food is filling. Reasonable price for the burrito I got. They have complimentary biscuits and desserts. They have both physical and QR-code menu. The service was easy and hospitable.

Yelp
As soon as I enter, I was happily greeted by the hanging flowers and balloon arches, that were all decorative and pretty but not immersive, I was not taken to the top floor of Paris Hilton's bubbly champagne flute. Like, the restaurant was cute to the max, but the max did not hit the chord of garden in full Spring bloom, decorated for a princesses sixth birthday party, the max hit more the tone of a high school gym that was decorated for prom and the committee who developed the space had access to a closet of wonderfully forgotten relics that saw better heyday parties but with enthusiasm and hours invested the committee made the space picture ready. If I were the parent of one of the members of that prom committee I would be proud of the effort. The break in charming identity was most precent when one goes to the sole restroom of the place. The dining room is almost fully covered in joyous color and texture, and then when ones to the restroom, one walks this common hallway (yes, that I clipped). it has a brown floral arrangement in a corner but it is more an attempt that falls flat than a punch of elegance, especially since it has one of those poles that holds ropes in clubs. And the bathroom is not decorated in a cute way, either. it does, however, have chipped paint, maybe ripped, walls, that suggest that the cute air of the place did not embrace the bathroom, it was concentrated in an area, and the glitter did not reach the powder room. But still, where the place had the most flair of flower and balloon was an eye-bakery, the white silhouette of a Nightgale was lovely in its simplicity, and the share plate was fit for a tea party all pink with blue branches and florals. On the other hand, when I asked for a to go order it was a regular plastic bag, and the water cups were plastic, and the coffee I ordered was on a to go cup. So you see, even in post analysis of bite, I cannot see past the fog of confusion. But, I can say, that what I remember most, or what I chose to remember the most, is the cute of it all. What I can attest was a double win was the service and the food. When I went, they had a breakfast. The sign read, "Enjoy. Complimentary Breakfast bar" that was available to dine-in guests only, as a show of gratitude for customers who patronize small business. My immediate thought was now I can enjoy maybe only a coffee and eat these many breakfast treats, and chocolates, and other sweet things. In fact, before I sat down, I grabbed a plate and put nuts on top. I did three plates of these nuts throughout the meal. I grabbed Ronnie the last small cup of strawberry shortcake, before someone else grabbed it. I took several packaged items and place them in the plastic bag I gave them. Did I abuse the breakfast bar? Perhaps. But it was inviting, it was there, and I felt like the purpose of this place was to invite engagement, so I was brave enough to accept hospitality. Did I put my feet up on the couch on the first visit, again, perhaps, but I felt like the restaurant put a pink cushion on the edge of the sofa, so who is really to blame--- the one who invites with indulgence or the one who accepts with shame abandoned? One of the many lovely staff members said that me enjoying myself was the "goal" so the answer is clear. Oh yes, the service was on point, and offered care, that made the pink of the place shine a bit brighter, like the glow of a good witches staff. The food was the real glow of this place though. Ronny ordered the cinnamon toast cereal banana foster, and it confused my brain in a wonderful way. I have eaten Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal before, my mind recognizes it, but in this dish, I chewed the milk, and the cereal together, and also enjoyed the fostered bread, it was all new and snapped my neurons into detective mode. One of the items in the breakfast (that I enjoyed like a bull in a cupcake shop) were Danish cookies and I used one of them to sop the cinnamon milk glaze remains, like I do with parker house rolls and really good steak remains. I sopped because not doing so would be letting joy inducing food go to waste. I drank the Biscotti Latte and it was a dream in a to-go cup. My mind was newly confused I was sipping cookies that I chewed in days prior. It was sweetness embellished with cookie crumbs. It was a pleasure to enjoy because it interrupted the meal so it could become old friends enjoying exciting and also comforting food. We were pals in a Parisian cafe, we were pals in a Tokyo alley sharing Avocado Tempura (that was lightly fried to crisp delicacy, while the avocado taste was present) while we sat in crates that were decorated just so pretty, and most of us we were pals living our best life for the span of the meal. I did not want to get up and go, eventually we had to.

Yelp
Food so good I would be here every weekend if I could!! The energy is always great here. I am IN LOVE with the lemon blueberry pancakes and they had mini ones in my last visit that I just couldn't resist- perfect for sharing with the table if everyone is in the mood for just something sweet on top of a savory brunch! For more sharable items, the loaded potato wedges were just so so good, crispy and soft with all the cheesy and bacon crunch goodness on top! Tried some new items like the Crab Hatchlet and let me just say the quality of crab and flavor is just so beautiful I could cry thinking about it again. Also the Salmon Benedict was something different than my normal order and between this and the full stack of lemon blueberry pancakes; I don't know how I will choose now! No matter what I order here I just know it will be delicious. Nightingale stays consistent in flavor, quality and hospitality and truthfully it gets better every single time.

Yelp
Delicious indulgent & original drinks! Friendly and efficient staff! The food was great though it was before noon and they were already out of the oxtail noodle soup so that was a letdown. I had the cocount soup instead with shrimp which was tangy but sweet in all the right ways. We did take it to go. Would recommend and try again!

Yelp
A nice brunch spot with nice decor and easy parking. No wait on a Monday morning at opening but still decently brisk business. Service was fine. I thought their Lomo Saltado burrito was pretty good but not as stand out as I was hoping for a $20+ burrito. Their blueberry pancakes were amazing though! Their omelette version looked a lot better and at the same price point. They have a nice dinner menu too that I'd be interested. Definitely a nice choice in the area.

Yelp
The Nightingale is a beautiful venue with the absolute best food and the ambiance is just amazing! The service is just as wonderful as every bit of food and beauty that this place has to offer. When you walk into this place, you can see all the busy bees working hard together to keep this dream alive! This is someone's dream brought to life and you can definitely feel it when you're there. If you haven't tried this place, you're definitely missing out! I'm a connoisseur of fine Tom Kah soup and this place is on top of my list! See you soon, Nightingale!

Yelp
Nightingale is such a cute brunch place to eat and catch up with friends! It's a small spot but we made reservations in advance. It's pretty much a Thai fusion restaurant that has a brunch menu , and a Thai menu. We ordered Crying tiger that came with rice and eggs, pad thai, and a lomo saltado burrito. All were pretty big portions and very filling . The interior of restaurant is beautiful and authentically pleasing, with comfortable seats. They also have great coffee drinks and specialty milk teas. All their food looked yummy, I'd come back to try other dishes !

Yelp
Matcha didnt taste like anything even after paying for extra matcha. Their strawberry puree tasted house made but that's about it for the one star. They said it's ceremonial but tasted like low quality. Not going back. They should've given me a refund tbh bc it was like $9.50 and a waste.

Yelp
They have a mix of american brunch and an entire thai menu: i like their drunken noodles; nam tok; and chicken panang. I tried their Tom Yum beer: excellent lemongrass flavors. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating: cute pink fluff decor. Service is quick and friendly.

Yelp
A few fabulous Elites gathered at Nightingale for Sunday Brunch. The picturesque drinks, charming scenery, and cozy atmosphere was the allure. The menu features Thai-inspired dishes, classic American fare, and creative offerings. There is a wall dedicated to Veuve Clicquot and select cocktails are available too. We sat at a high top near the entrance, which was the perfect spot to people watch (and dog watch too). Three Espresso Martinis and a latte kicked off our brunch. We were impressed with the cute "Good Morning" messages that graced the top of our beverages. Each one was different. The Espresso Martini was smooth and went down easily. It was one of the better ones I've had. Our food order consisted of: Fruity Pebble French Toast, Mixed Berry Parfait, Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Sandwich with a side of Potato Wedges, & Lomo Saltado Omelet. In terms of presentation, the Fruity Pebble French Toast was the winner! (It was also yummy!) I'm sure the other restaurant patrons got a kick out of watching a group of Yelpers walking around the table taking pictures from every angle. We ended our lovely day with some bubbly--Wycliff Brut & Strawberry Bellini--and raised a toast to friendships, happiness, & good health. *Ample parking in the lot. *Located across from Old Navy on the other side of the fountain and a few feet from Solitas.

Yelp
Went here on a Sunday for brunch with some of my close YE friends. Very chill place with plenty of tables inside as well as out front. We sat at a High Top by the entrance and took our time ordering our drinks & food. The menu is available via a QR code using your phone. Our drinks & food were brought out quickly which was impressive. I ordered the Greek Yogurt Parfait. It was layered with granola, fresh strawberries & blueberries. Yum! My friends ordered: *Fruity Pebble French Toast *Bacon Egg & Cheese Sandwich *Side of potatoes *Omelette *Espresso Martini's *Strawberry Bellini *Latte We all enjoyed our food and sat for a few hours chatting. *Very casual place *located across from Old Navy & next to Solita Mexican Restaurant *Plenty of parking in the lot *Great for families & large parties

Yelp
Absolutely adorable coffee/breakfast/brunch spot that is easy to miss so GET THE WORD OUT. I've seen several business come and go from this spot over the years but the community really needs to come together and make sure this one sticks. The vibe is so cute, and staff is friendly, the menu is extensive and feels fancy, and the food was delicious. My friend and I came here for her daughter's 11th birthday with my 10 year old, and the four of us had the nicest girl party. The girls got fancy juice drinks, mamas had great lattes, and we all had perfect breakfast dishes that suited our tastes. Both girls got different kinds of French toast (both were fabulous) with sides of bacon (thick and perfectly cooked) my friend got an omelette that looked amazing and I got crab cakes Benedict! Prices were absolutely reasonable for the portions and quality. And the happy birthday girl got a celebratory treat with a candle too. I cannot recommend Nightingale enough for a local breakfast spot!! Will be back over and over.

Yelp
I'll start with the good. I was looking forward to the food here, as I had read great reviews about it. They have American brunch as well as Thai food. We stuck with the Thai food and got the red curry, the papaya salad, and shaking beef. I thought the food was good. The red curry was a bit bland compared to other red curries I've had though. The papaya salad was great. The shaking beef was tender. I also got a green Thai tea and that was good, but too sweet. I should've ordered it a littleless sweet though. Now onto the bad. I arrived a few minutes before my group and was promptly seated. However, nobody came to check on me or ask me if I wanted to order something. 30 minutes after I sat down and about 15-20 minutes after the rest of the group came, they came and took drink orders. I get that they were busy, but I thought that was a little crazy. Then, we had to constantly flag them down if we wanted attention. We had to flag them down when we wanted to order food. Then again when the red curry came without rice or a spoon. Then again when the dessert didn't come. The whole group was rather disappointed and I'm pretty sure this is the last time any of us will ever go there.

Yelp
Such a cute Thai Fusion brunch spot tucked in the Bella Terra condo mall! On gorgeous warm days, their small outdoor dining area catches a great breeze. Today being Mother's Day, they had a special grazing table set up with macarons, fruit & cheese & meat trays, plus cookies and pastries too. And a live DJ that pumped out cool tunes. WOW!! That made brunch there extra tasty! And that was a FREE bonus before we even got our dishes! Speaking of delicious dishes, everything we ordered was heavenly. You do need to order at the counter. But the food comes pretty fast after we ordered. Overall, I would give this brunch spot two thumbs up. Check it out if you're in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Once upon a time, a cute Yelp find. This restaurant is tucked inside the large Bella Terra shopping center. The coffees were a hit! We enjoyed the coffee images on our lattes (see photos). Super delightful! The breakfast was good. If I were to make a recommendation, perhaps make a traditional breakfast option (eggs/potatoes/toast/bacon). Although two of us ordered these items, they came out deconstructed, not together and at different times (see photo). Otherwise, a nice breakfast! The end.

Yelp
We are looking for a place where we can start celebrating our 42 anniversary for brunch and we found this gem in Bella Terra Shopping Center named "Nightingale". The place is cozy and not big but the heart of the people that worked there are big. We ordered, the Bennies(with crab cakes) and Crab Fried Rice with green tea and Americano coffee. The Bennies were excellent to our taste. Great customers service from the Server, and from Jenny who gave some gifts freebies of Vanilla Latte and macaroons for our anniversary treat. The chef is nice to talk too. You should check it out. There a lot of selections. Jenny made the start of our 42nd anniversary more special to remember. Thanks, Nightingale!

Yelp
Came here for second time for breakfast / brunch with a friend to celebrate her bday! We got excellent service n the food was terrific beautifully presented garnished with flowers. This time I tried lemon hotcakes and she ordered omelette. We also had fancy drinks with hot matcha latte n fruit drink for her. Ambience is cozy inside n there's complimentary snack bar while waiting for ur food.

Yelp
Good ambiance and the food art on their menus is great. Every meal has an orchid bloom for garnish. The food taste itself was just ok and overpriced. $5.50 for a regular old order of tater tots. I got crab fried rice which was good but overpriced and nothing exceptional. Went with a few friends and they weren't thrilled with their options either. Service was lackluster and employees seemed uneducated on the food and drinks being served. I would not go here again. I think I have seen all that I need to about this place. The search for yummy new brunch places continues!

Yelp
Nightingale food and drinks have the prettiest presentation but I wish the flavor of the food and drink matched presentation energy. The food wasn't terrible but it wasn't anything that would make me want to go back. My California burrito was pretty good but nothing memorable. My husband had the steak and eggs, and he said the flavor was there but there was too much fat on the steak. My friend (the birthday girl) had chilaquiles and she said they were okay. Her boyfriend had the wagyu burger, which he loved; however, they gave him about six fries. I absolutely would not recommend their cocktails. I had a strawberry mojito and it was extremely sweet. I drank just a tiny bit, but I couldn't finish it because of how sweet it was. My husband had the bloody Maria and he didn't like the sweet rim. He thinks it would have been better with a spicy one. Our friend had the pineapple michelada and it comes with the models piña chelada. It comes with the mix to pour into the glass yourself but the shape of the glass keeps it all at the bottom and it doesn't mix well. The service was a little slow. I recommend putting your name on the waitlist and enjoying the shopping center. They text you once your table is ready, but there is plenty to do nearby while you wait.

Yelp
Love the decor of Nightingale! They also had a little brunch bkfast bar (at no additional cost)! The menu is BIG, so we got a little stumped for what to order, but it was very good! The crab haslet was very good! It had some sort of crab cream sauce, micro greens, potato's, eggs, and toast. Good portion too! The noodle soup was also very good, sort of a mix between a pho and beef stew! The waiters didn't rush us, the place wasn't that crowded (until later), and everyone was very nice and attentive. We also got the ube mango sticky rice (forgot to take a pic), but they give you the choice for ube and pandan, which I love! Definitely will be back again.

Yelp
What a beautiful spot for a meal catch up with friends or family. The aesthetic is really pink and girly. The restaurant is open early for brunch and there is a pretty large menu for breakfast foods and lunch Thai food. I think we went around 9am and we could already start ordering random lunch food LOL so we got pad Thai and the pad kee mow. The pad Thai was really good! I'd pass on pad kee mow bc it didn't taste anything like it. We also got the tres leches pancakes which were good. The sauce to pour over it gave it a subtle tres leches taste, not too sweet. I would've wanted it to be a litttttle sweeter, and I'm someone who doesn't like too much sugar in my bobas lol.

Yelp
My wife and I live in the area and finally got to try this place. The decor and ambience is great. They happened to have a live violinist playing so that was really cool too. The breakfast and coffee drinks are awesome. Lots of choices if you want a good breakfast spot!

Yelp
Was looking for a brunch stop I have not been to and Nightingale did not disappoint. In the Bella Terra shopping center so lots of park in the plaza. A short walk to the quaint diner with indoor and outdoor seating and lots of personality. It's perfect for a girls' brunch. On top of beautiful lattes and the cutest latte art, they also have cocktails, mimosas and mimosa flights. I started with their lychee mimosa. Yummm with lychee for me to enjoy. We ordered mushroom omelette and a crab cake Benedict. I had to add a side of tatar tots, soo fun with a nice crunch. Portion were big that we had to take half of each home. Flavors were soo good. We also had the hazelnut and salted caramel lattes. Those best latte art on top of our latte, super cute and perfect. As we're finishing up our meal, we were approached by the order, Jenny, who introduced herself and asked if we needed anything. I was with my Mom and Jenny was so sweet to bring us some sliced mango and strawberries to enjoy and palette cleansed. So appreciated that. Inside of the restaurant was so cutie with beautiful flowers to accent here and there. Workers were all so helpful and attentive. Someone was always nearby when we had any questions or wanted anything. Definitely a must return.

Yelp
Fantastically delicious spot that blends classic American breakfast foods with a very tasty Thai Menu. We enjoyed the beef waterfall (Nam Tok) which had a savory fish-saucy marinade and a nice side of white rice. Didn't last long enough for a photo. The drunken noodles were great and even the mild had a fair bit of heat, which was very pleasant (for me! Wife wasn't thrilled). The tres leches pancake was not overpoweringly sweet and had a nicely layered flavor profile. We also had a lot of fun with their drink menu and enjoyed a strawberry lemonade, a Thai tea and a nitro cold brew. They were quite delicious. Service was prompt and courteous and warranted the 18% gratuity our party of 6 got hit with automatically. Sort of a fun vibe in the restaurant too, with nicely decorated bathrooms! A must visit! We got in at 1030 and had a reservation for a table. By the time we left there was a line out the door.

Yelp
Such a cute spot at the Bella Terra (located close to Old Navy, for reference)! The Thai food was what drew me to this restaurant. Also clean baño, I like that they have a coat rack in there. :) Friendly and courteous service. They gave my friend and I enough time to look at the menu and took our order shortly after. Presentation is beautiful here! I enjoyed the smoked salmon toast, although it was on the sweeter side than I would like. Tamarind margarita was tasty, just a bit strong to my liking. Tom kha was perfect! So comforting for this chilly weather.

Yelp
Brunch spots are definitely a dime a dozen in SoCal. This spot is pretty unique in that it has really interesting food options. We ordered a plethora of things which included the loaded tots, strawberry shortcake French toast, Spicy Chili wings, and Tom Kha Soup. The all of the dishes were delicious. The loaded tots was very savory and flavorful. The French toast was definitely the star since I'm a sucker for French toast. The strawberry shortcake was definitely a nice touch. It was a little on super sweet side, but not too overbearing for me to not enjoy it. The wings were also fantastic and flavorful. The Tom Kha was also very good. The curry provided a nice balance of flavors! Definitely check this place out!

Yelp
Omg this place is super cute and girlie. A total brunch vibes. The staff were really nice and friendly. The crab hashlet was delish, the açaí bowl was super refreshing, and the lychee marg was so good. Can't wait to go back and try other stuff on the menu.

Yelp
Delicious açaí bowl. So healthy and fresh. I feel like I'm back in Hawaii again... Cute place with nice tables indoors, or outside near a fountain. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Love this place!

Yelp
A solid brunch spot! It has an interesting variety of Thai, Mexican, and American flavors and dishes. It's not quite fusion because each individual dish seems to stick to one culture. The Thai food stood out as really tasty, though I wouldn't really label it as brunch food because it doesn't really have a brunch twist to it. Besides adding a fried egg on top of the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles), it's pretty standard Thai dishes. My expectations about "Thai brunch" aside, it was delicious! The Tom Kha (coconut soup) was a favorite at our table. It was sweet and perfect for a chilly morning. The Pad Kee Mao also tasted good! I was less impressed by the chilaquiles and the tres leches hot cakes. The meat on the chilaquiles was cut in large chunks and didn't have too much flavor overall. The pancakes in the tres leches hot cakes were more on the dense side and less fluffy than I hoped. It's flavor was subtle though, so I would recommend to someone who likes food "not too sweet". The Tiramisu Latte was a highlight! It was quite sweet but very satisfying. The fluffy cloud layer of foam was velvety and delicious. I also really liked the added lady finger biscuit on top! Great for dipping into the coffee. Overall, I would recommend the Thai options and fun lattes. The ambience was very cute and decorated for Christmas, and it seemed popular for large groups who were celebrating something. There was a large party in a sectioned off table that seemed like they were having a birthday celebration and a great time!

Yelp
Solid 4.5/5!! Absolutely love Nightingale as an addition to Bella Terra. The ambiance is great and their brunch is delicious. We made reservations in advance for patio seating and were promptly seated at our table of choice once we had arrived. We then ordered at the front counter and took our number to our table. Our food came out pretty quick. Here's what we ordered: Pistachio White Mocha Latte (4/5) - This latte was good but much on sweeter side. It had good pistachio flavor though. Vietnamese Iced Coffee (4/5) - It was decent, but didn't have the strong chicory scent we're used to having in our Viet coffee. Tom Yum Beer (4.5/5) - This was experimental as we've never had Tom Yum beer before. It has all of the Tom Yum spices but it wasn't overly sour which was surprising. This beer was very light and crisp. Crab Hashlet (5/5) - Not featured on the menu but we read the Yelp reviews about it and they still serve it! Really pretty and really yummy. The dish had really intricate flavors. The ceab really shines through and we love how saucy this dish is. Thai Omelette (5/5) - Delicious! You can't really go wrong with omelette and we love the Thai twist to it. It also comes with a side of dish sauce which complements the entire dish. Hubby absolutely loved this dish. Savory and comforting. Overall love our time here at Nightingale. The staff were extra attentive and extremely hardworking. We love how charming this brunch cafe and enjoy their take on Thai fusion brunch. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Quaint Thai Restaurant breaks stigma between beautiful presentation and Great tasting food. Will be back soon.
