Spent $35 on raw donuts and week old tasting coffee. We tried this place despite the reviews as we don’t mind paying more for quality. Well…we paid more but didn’t get that quality and the ordering was comical. It went like this: Me: I’d like a blueberry donut please Them: we don’t have blueberry Me: ok, how about chocolate hazelnut Them: nope, don’t have that. We only have Chai seasonal My Husband: I’d like a sausage and cheese kolache Then: we’re out Me: a latte with almond milk please Them: no almond milk Sigh…..we finally ended up ordering after much back and forth as to what was actually available They were quick to get our order, but the donuts were literally raw in the middle. Inedible. And coffee was disgusting. Don’t know if it was old or what but not smooth at all. In the end our wallet is quite a bit lighter and so are we, which should not happen after donuts.

Google
This place has some of the most delicious coffee I've tasted in Waco, maybe even in all of TX! 😋☕ The coffee was amazing, with such a special aroma – I savored every sip! I'll definitely be back. 💯 The donut was special, but a little too sweet for me... maybe I'll try a diet version next time. Overall, this place deserves a visit! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #Coffee #Waco #Texas #Donut #Cafe #Treat #FiveStars

Google
I recently returned to Waco after six months and headed to Nightlight Donuts & Coffee to satisfy my donut craving. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Nightlight used to have the best donuts in Waco, but that is no longer the case. The service was awful, with two workers showing no urgency. In the photo, you can see one guy waiting for the rest of his order, while another customer who ordered after me received his order first, even though both orders came from the same rack. The donuts are overpriced, and while I used to be willing to pay a premium for their quality, that quality has significantly declined. The service was not only slow but also inattentive, adding to my frustration. This once 5-star donut shop has sadly fallen to a 2 or 3 at best. If Nightlight Donuts & Coffee doesn't improve both its service and the quality of its donuts, I doubt it will stay in business much longer. It's disappointing to see a once-great place go downhill so much.

Google
I own a small business and it's literally not that hard to update your store hours on Google and Facebook. Really disappointed. We've been trying to get donuts here for a while. They are FANTASTIC. But we can't seem to catch y'all when you're open.

Google
Omg!!!! This place was/is fantastic. I will ALWAYS stop in here and grab some of their donuts which are all made out of croissant dough!!! The staff was so sweet and had the best recommendations. We orders coffee and a plethora of goodies. The blueberry was so freaking good as well as the regular glazed. To be honest you couldn’t go wrong ordering any of them. The atmosphere is really nice and laid back. Plenty of seating. They sell merchandise as well. If you are any where near this place stop in you will not regret it.

Google
It may be my fault I went an hour before closing, but the only fresh donut was the original. Just tell me that it’s the only fresh one and I will just buy more of those. Cool idea, the croissant donut, but only when fresh. Don’t get the hot chocolate either, was grainy and not a good chocolate.

Jeff Cummings

Google
This place use to have such good donuts, easy on the eyes and taste buds. Now the taste is still good as long as you don't mind mangled looking donuts and a slight attitude for asking for your entire order.

Google
This place won 2 awards, the first award is for the best donut I’ve ever eaten! This donut was amazing and I wish I had gotten more. The second award is for the worst coffee I’ve ever had in my entire life……I got an iced latte with vanilla syrup and half and half and it tasted like they just gave me a cup of half and half with a drop of coffee in it, and considering the price of the coffee isn’t cheap it was definitely a waste of time and a frustrating experience.

Yelp
First off, I've read some critical reviews of the donuts and I have to say that if you're looking for a yeasty Homer Simpson style donut, this isn't the place to get that. The donuts here are croissant donuts so their texture is that of a croissant. Now that I got that out of the way-- Their donuts are flaky, soooft in the center, and full of flavor. These are best eaten warm! If you do take out, pop them in the microwave for 15 seconds or so and they taste just as good as they do in the shop. Our favorites: The Glazed Donut, the Cinnamon Sugar, the Chocolate Iced. My favorite seasonal donuts are the Key Lime, Raspberry Lemon, and Maple Bacon. Tip: their donut holes are huge and sold by the piece. You can order one of each flavor or all of the same. A good move if you're wanting something smaller or you want to try more than one. They have flaky, delicious kolaches made with meat from local barbecue joint Guess BBQ. Our favorite is the Turkey and Colby Jack. They serve Intelligentsia coffee. Not sure what blend it is but it is perfect with their donuts. Their branding is on point. Fun colors and design on everything. Inside is clean and it's been pretty quiet whenever we've been there. A good place to bring your books and study for a bit.

Yelp
My son raved about this donut shop a must have for me to try. Oh boy!!! Loved it!!! We went to a drive thru and I had the Chocolate Iced donut. I gobbled it in seconds. It was so yummy!! The croissant donut tasted fresh and was flaky. Every bite I took of the light and airy croissant dough made me feel " to live my life" as what they claim not telling us to do. Perhaps on my next visit I can try all the types of donuts like: Beignet Original Glazed Cinnamon Sugar Chocolate with Sprinkles Glazed with Sprinkles Blueberry Toasted Coconut and Almond Pinwheel Chocolate Hazelnut Holes

Yelp
Was visiting Waco and this was nearby the hotel. Donut was decent didn't seem fresh to me. Coffee was okay a little bit on the bitter side so I added a little sugar to it. Tons of sitting area inside and out. Place was clean. Service was pretty quick since there wasn't a lot of people there when I arrive around 8:15 AM on a Saturday.

K. B.

Yelp
These donuts are made from croissant dough. If you have ever had Round Rock Donuts, these taste a lot like those, but with a better texture. They have a bunch of different kinds. I was not wild about their coffee and service was mediocre.

Yuri C.

Yelp
Although I rarely indulge in donuts, Nightlight has completely won me over! The perfect balance they strike with their crispy, fluffy, and just-right sweetness in their donuts has convinced me to make this place a regular haunt.

Nicki M.

Yelp
Not my favorite donut place I've ever tried. The service was great, the coffee was good, and there were plenty of places to sit, but I did not enjoy the donuts. They were cold and just ok. I ate half and threw them away and finished my coffee.

Edlyn V.

Yelp
I was visiting the area and wanted to check out this popular spot! I love the ambience and decor inside, a great place for people to work or study in! I decided to just go for the classic glaze croissant donut and the chocolate glazed croissant donut. I love how they serve it to you warm and ready to eat! The flakiness and airiness of the donut was evident! We went at a time that's not so popular around 5 PM and so it may not have been as fresh as I would have wanted it to taste, but I was still able to get the experience. The cappuccino was smooth and creamy. I'll definitely like to return for more of a breakfast experience. Staff was kind and attentive!

Scott W.

Yelp
I have tried Nighlight Donuts twice. While the donuts tasted good they were out of most flavors before 10:00AM. Service was terrible, they shorted me donuts the first time and when I mentioned this the second time the girl shrugged her shoulders. I would not recommend going there.

Mandie Z.

Yelp
My daughter , her sister, her bestie, & I all went to Waco for an overnight stay, in the morning I had to try this place because I have never tried a beignet crossed w/a donut! WTH!!! This could be potentially heaven sent?? These girls are not into YELP, especially my daughter but she gave in & off we went. The place is very modern & their concept is different. The donut holes are the size of a toddlers fists, huge, so if you do try them be, prepared they're not your average donut hole. So I did try the Beignet crossed w/a donut & shared it w/one my girls because she wanted to try it. We both decided it was fabulous. The kolaches were average. So for each of us to get 1 kolache & 1 donut & 1 drink it came out to a woping 42.00 ! I don't know about you but those are some high priced donut's. Yes sir! I definitely could not eat here everyday.

Eugenia L.

Yelp
Hands down the best croissant donuts I've had so far. Best part is when you order their standard glazed one it comes out warm. Which gives you that fresh out of the oven feeling, like warm towels from the dryer. They also offer a variety of other flavors ranging from savory (brisket filled) to sweet.

Kaysi C.

Yelp
I've never had a croissant donut (or kolache) before, but holy cow! They are amazing and I'm officially obsessed! We got the sea salt caramel donut, the blueberry donut, and a turkey/pepper jack kolache. Everything is made with a croissant base and it is all delicious! We also got two iced vanilla lattes and they were perfect! The coffee is delicious and has a lot of depth and flavor, so good! The vibe is on point in this shop! So relaxing and welcoming. The young man working the front counter was helpful and patient as I was very indecisive. Food and coffee came out quick and delicious.

Natalie T.

Yelp
My friends and I were in town for a girls getaway trip. I'm usually not a huge fan of donuts but reading the Yelp reviews, I was intrigued with the cronuts they served. We skipped dinner to get donuts and a coffee. The staff was very patient and friendly as we were deciding which donuts we wanted. Our biggest regret was not ordering more for the rest of the trip. The assortment of donuts we got had a light but flakey texture, simply decadent. It was not greasy nor too sweet. I highly recommend you try them all. Our top two favorites are the hazelnut chocolate and beignet. Next time you're in the area, this is a must try. They also have a drive thru too to make it very convenient.

Gerry A.

Yelp
They get a 2 star because they were open when they say they are open. Other than that, not so good. 10am on a Saturday and a lot of the menu was not available. What they did have was old and dried out. The cashier could not figure out my change and when the manager had to get cash so they could make change acted out out because she had to go to the back and get it. When I went to sit down most of the tables were dirty. A few minutes after I sat down the manager came out to clean the tables or so I thought. She cleaned one table but only cleaned half leaving food on the other half. That was all she cleaned and walked to the back. Very unfriendly staff to include the manager. Next time I will save my money and go to the donut shop in Woodway across from HEB. Pathetic.

Angela N.

Yelp
The croissant style donuts or extra yummy and they usually have quite a good selection, sprinkled glaze and seasonal flavors. However, the current flavor includes stale Fruity pebbles. Which I don't recommend I was hoping for something with pumpkin, but that's just me. People are always very nice and the new location is very convenient and clean

Aimee H.

Yelp
I love nightlight Donuts & coffee. I always get a cappuccino, it's delicious. Deep, Rich espresso with excellent foam. They have THE BEST donuts... the glazed donut holes are my favorite. The customer service is always fantastic too. They have the sweetest staff. My only recommendation is that they add more coffee, drink options, like a mocha or an Americano, etc..

Joy L.

Yelp
Coffee was so bitter I could not drink it. I asked for sugar-free vanilla and cream and Stevia, but I got the worst bitter cup of coffee ever then I went inside and added some Stevia and added a creamer that just separated in the coffee cup like clabbered milk, horrible first time experience.!

Isabel M.

Yelp
I walked in, they looked at me, and didn't serve me at all. I stood there for 3 minutes while an employee mopped behind the counter, and then left without Donuts :/

Lauren G.

Yelp
Good coffee and a desert like donut. They are croissant donuts so have to be in the mood for a non traditional donut but tons of fun flavors! We tried the chocolate hazelnut that was very decadent.

Allison K.

Yelp
I just left here and I'm very disappointed. I ordered a bag of donut holes which are good but I also ordered a cinnamon roll and it's awful. It looks like someone took a bite of it already and it tastes old. Hard and cold. I've come here in the past and it was great but $4 for a very sad cinnamon roll is not cool. I'm surprised she served it to me.

Andrea F.

Yelp
Every other croissant donut is greasy & not good. Nightlight donuts are PERFECT! Best croissant donuts I've had! We had Chocolate sprinkle, Beignet, glazed, hazelnut chocolate (Nutella) all were 10/10. Place inside was clean, service was great as well. However the cinnamon roll was different, not for us at all.

Lisa S.

Yelp
Today's visit to get a yummy donut was so disappointing. I wanted a peppermint hot chocolate. Didn't have that. Saw the maple bacon donut in the display box, ran out. I don't get over to that side of town often and I was really looking forward to a treat. Another customer in the store also complained about her coffee tasting sour. The guy behind the counter didn't really try to take care of her but I sat and waited for my hot chocolate and donut while he sniffed the milk he poured in her coffee. I could have kept my mouth shut but I couldn't see paying for a drink and donut that I settled for because what I wanted wasn't available. No picture because I wasn't happy. Maybe next time I'll just go to DD.

Dwayne O.

Yelp
Nightlight Donuts Crossaint Donuts, coffee, sodas and Lemonade. Has a drive thru, but we went in to look at the different Donuts but none are on display. There is seating along with a stadium style with tons of electrical outlets for charging laptops or phones. The herringbone tiled wall kind of makes me dizzy. Donut Holes are good size almost the size of a fist. Cookies and Cream are a good choice, tasty and delicious. Beignets were okay, not on our favorite list Cinnamon Sugar are good cinnamon is always a winner Glazed would recommend and if not warm, microwave to get warm and delicious. Lemonade from Pops Lemonade which has added cinnamon Would suggest having available trash cans in the main dining area that is visible, another person asked before I asked and it was behind the counter.

Jeremy O.

Yelp
Amazing doughnuts! Was given a tip while in town and got a chance to swing by to give it a chance. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The cinnamon sugar and glazed were FANTASTIC! Definitely a treat for when I'm back in town and can't wait to give other flavors a try!

Heather C.

Yelp
What in the California Dystopian hell hole even is this??? You know what..this was my fault I honestly thought I could order something called a "crolache" and expect anything more than just pure disappointment.. it's literally the size of my pointer finger, and don't even get me started on the beef jerky they're trying to pass as a sausage. This is $4 YALL.. this tiny, crispy, no flavor having, burnt nugget.. if you're from West don't even try it it'll murder your taste buds and just make you plain angry at the poor thing. Upside My dog ate it though so at least one of us got fed. My caramel latte tasted like brown water, but my main focus is still on the "jerky in a top sheet"

Leila C.

Yelp
Got a box of the donut holes and every single piece was raw. Ate one until I spit it all up. Second time we came and got raw donut holes /;

Lora W.

Yelp
I'm so sad that I live in Chicagoland and can't come here regularly! We arrived at 7:30am on a Sunday and got a collection of donut knots (holes basically)--glazed, cinnamon sugar, and chocolate covered. Those donuts are so moist and flaky all at once. They were fresh and warm and literally melted in my mouth. Ridiculously delicious! Do yourself a favor and give them a try!

Jen K.

Yelp
The donuts were fresh but oh so expensive! The latte was way too milky. Couldn't taste espresso.

Toby M.

Yelp
Service was great. No lines. Croissant style donuts so you must know that going in. Beignet was perfect, light, flaky, delish-ous; ) Glazed tasted really good but must have been setting next to coconut donuts (YUK!) as it tasted of coconut (YUK!) on one side. We tried several others too that were a bit mushy instead of flaky but tasted OK (blueberry, choco glaze,....). If they could sort out their coconut issues (YUK!) and improve consistency this could be worthy of 4-stars.

Cynthia L.

Yelp
The best donuts in Waco. Period. Yes, they are more pricey, but you are getting what you pay for here as it is significantly more labor intensive to prepare wonderful light croissant donuts than regular donuts and dense, tough kolache bread. Our entire family would choose Nightlight over any other donut place in town. We have also brought Nightlight for school / work events - it is the hit of every breakfast event we cater and there are never leftovers. They have always had our order ready on time and prepared perfectly as requested, and it was very simple to use their online ordering as well. Just a great experience and we will recommend them any day!

Robert S.

Yelp
My wife brought home a dozen for us to try and they were really enjoyable. They have some creative flavors and their coffee was great too. I appreciate their social mission and look forward to visiting again.

Laura T.

Yelp
We needed some breakfast so we stopped by Nightlight just because we saw the sign. We were not familiar with this shop previously. Swung by the drive thru. The customer service was excellent but just WAIT until you try the food!!! I ordered donut holes (each one turned out to be about the size of a nectarine) and my spouse ordered a sausage kolache. We both loved the food. My exact words after trying the donut hole were, "My life is now complete." Try it. You won't regret it!

Keosha B.

Yelp
Food is good and service is good! My favorite is the raspberry almond donut! The kolaches are good also.

Claire H.

Yelp
Gloves were worn! Amazing donuts made from croissants - unique and so tasty! Friendly service with a smile:) Clean bathrooms! The iced coffee was also really good.

Maureen B.

Yelp
OMG!!!! Can you really call these light fluffy crispy heavenly delights donuts? They don't taste like any donuts I've ever had before but they do taste like donuts I'd like again and again and again!

Bill W.

Yelp
Would not recommend the drive-thru. Got two coffees over filled, tops came off and spilled coffee all over my car and burnt us. Ended up dumping the coffees out the window of the car. Insufficiently trained people.

Steve G.

Yelp
Great donuts! The croissant donut is really good. The sausage kolache using the barbecue sausage is outstanding! Can't eat donuts often but I'll be back!

Thuy N.

Yelp
Tasty croissant style donuts. Waco was lacking a good donut place until 2020. The donuts do cost about $2.50 per donut so a full dozen would cost around $32.00. Just something to keep in mind. Before Nightlight opened a brick and mortar, you could get an "OK" donut from Shipley or a glazed croissant from HEB, which isn't half bad actually. But we've always drove to Round Rock Donuts for our donut cravings. We went during soft opening and liked the classic original glaze compared to the other flavors.

Anthony L.

Yelp
We tried the donuts at the Waco Farmer's Market so I can't speak to their brick and mortar. They are expensive. They came to almost $3 a piece. When comparing them to other donuts it seemed very expensive. However, when comparing them to croissants (which they are) they are fairly priced. The donuts are made layered like a croissant. They are not traditional donuts. We enjoyed a cinnamon sugar and a chocolate donut. The cinnamon sugar was hands down the best. It we very flaky and fluffy! It's not something I'd eat everyday, but I wouldn't mind walking around every Saturday morning with one in my hand!

Jan S.

Yelp
Huge fan of Nightlight Donuts!! A must visit every time I fall off the keto wagon. :) Donuts are delicious, service is good and restaurant is clean. Recommend you give them a try.

Rebecca T.

Yelp
This lovely, small donut shop provides great variety in food. I was able to get a vanilla latte and a beignet doughnut, that tasted like I was eating a cloud with powdered sugar. This donut shop is a little overprice for three donuts and one coffee was about $15.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
The cutest little donut shop! The inside has a variety of seating options, high top tables, regular tables, a lounge area with some comfy oversized chairs and coffee table and amphitheater seating with pillows. These croissant donuts are incredible!! My daughter got the chocolate icing with rainbow sprinkles, my son had the beignet donut. They both loved them. I tried the donut holes based on a recommendation. It is a big if 5 donut holes for $5. They actually threw in a 6th. I got 2 cinnamon sugar, 2 glazed and 2 chocolate icing. They were all so tasty! They were still warm. My husband got a sausage, jalapeño and cheese kolache. It was good but small, he was expecting a full a sized croissant. You can watch them making the fresh warm croissant donuts behind the counter. So glad we visited while we were in the Waco area.

Greg R.

Yelp
Came to this location at 6pm on a Saturday. The website said opened till 10pm. When I arrived it had a small sign on the door stating it was closed for the day. Change ur online hours if you cannot keep the place opened. Horrible customer service.

Jamell B.

Yelp
Very, very, good cronuts. I have been searching high and low for a place that can show me what is so special about the "cronut". I had the chocolate glazed, original glazed, and cinnamon sugar. They were all slammin' with the original glazed taking the top spot. I also had their "Crolaches"( two turkey and two brisket inside a croissant). At first I did not like the turkey,it was a little too dry) but while eating the second one I grew to like it a lot. But not better than the brisket. Only downside is the price, 2 for $11. I live an hour away and was thinking if I would drive that far again for these sweets. I wasn't sure but maybe if I really really wanted them again. And therefore is why I give them 4 stars instead of 5.

Katie E.

Yelp
The past two times I've tried to come here they have been closed during times they advertise that they're open. Today on a Monday I can at 8 and they weren't open even though the hours say open until 10. Super frustrating since I've made the drive twice and it's been wasted both times. If you can manage to come when they're open, the food really is yummy.

Elizabeth Q.

Yelp
So glad we stopped here on our way out of Waco! Flakiest donuts ever! The s'mores (donut of the month) was delish, it even had the smell of burning marshmallow over the fire. The Beignet was soooo good!

Lee K.

Yelp
This is a review only over their 5 & 6 dollar "crolache. The first time I bought this it was a decent size. Today when I went I paid 11 dollars for 1 turkey and 1 brisket crolache. They were half the size of the first I bought. It's literally not worth your money. Buy anything else there. Such a waste of money.

Jason F.

Yelp
Croissant donuts, where have you been all my life. Service was prompt. Went early so it was quiet. Minimal decor. Modernistic.

Kirsten D.

Yelp
Nightlight Donuts has my business for good! They're delicious cronuts are addicting and when you're from California that's a problem because I've been craving them since I visited. This will definitely be a stop on our next trip to visit our Baylor Bear! Nightlight's customer service is the best I've ever experienced as well! I had ordered my daughter and her friend's 2 boxes of the Valentine's special and then the crazy winter storm went and brought scary driving conditions. Nightlight not only gave me a full refund on my order, but also gave me a coupon to use when this storm leaves and it's safe to drive again. I can't say enough about how impressed I am by their team! Way to go Nightlight Donuts! You've outdone yourselves!

Andrea C.

Yelp
These "cronuts" are amazing! I could eat an entire bag of their glazed donut holes (which are just as big as any donut, quite frankly). All the flavors we've tried have been outstanding, but their glazed is our favorite hands down. We recently tried their kolaches, which I had high hopes for... but I didn't love them as much as I'd hoped. We'll be going here just for their donuts/donut holes from now on. They really can't be beat. They remind me of the cronuts I've tried in New York City and Japan.
