"Nightmare Cafe, which opened in the Las Vegas Arts District in October of 2022, hosted a send-off on Saturday, March 27, its last day of service. Fox5 reported that the downtown cafe on Commerce Street closed due to mental and physical setbacks, with the stress of running the business leading to its two co-owners experiencing heart complications. Nightmare Cafe announced the closure on Instagram, calling last weekend the end of its adventure. In its short run, Nightmare Cafe celebrated all things spooky. The bar served “spooktails” and “morgue-aritas.” It regularly hosted a Haunted Brunch show in which customers could order Avotopsy avocado toast and Bloody Carries while the twins from The Shining took the stage or Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair twirled on an aerial hoop. Many drinks came garnished with plastic spiders or vampire teeth. And the entire interior was decorated with murals of monsters, clowns, and jack-o-lanterns." - Janna Karel

"While seated in front of a plate of black Belgian waffles with fried chicken and a bloody Mary in a skull-shaped glass, a cheerleader runs frantically up to your table. Behind her, a skulking figure in a black cloak emerges, hoisting a blade above his head. The two engage in pursuit around the room in a chase that culminates with the cheerleader mounting a spinning hoop and performing an act of dance and acrobatics — until the hooded figure captures her and drags her body off the apparatus and out of view. That’s just one of the acts that diners can expect during Haunted Brunch, a new show taking place on Sunday mornings at Nightmare Cafe in the Las Vegas Arts District." - Janna Karel

AMBIENCE: High ceilings, windows that can open allowing a semi-outdoor space is nice. Then of course, on theme with the horror genre when it comes to decoration. FOOD: Had the The Blaire Waffle Project and I really liked it! The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waffles were a little more soft than crispy as my personal preference. The hot honey was nice too. Fried pickles were great too, came out fresh. OVERALL: Came here on a weekday afternoon, so there wasn't a wait time or a even a crowd. I assume this place is busier on weekends. So, if you don't want a wait time, come on a weekday.

My daughter came to visit and Nightmare Cafe was the one place she wanted to visit. I have been here before and liked it. The food is a nightmare in my opinion, but I finally get it..."nightmare cafe" so you walk into a bad dream, and it carries over to the food and staff! We ordered fried corn and it was terrible, looked sooooo good tasted horrible, just like a nightmare! Same with the chicken sandwich we ordered with spicy sauce that wasn't even spicy. LoL. The garlic fries were yummy tho. So they failed there. I ordered a 'Siren' mixed drink and they actually put seaweed in a fruity drink,horrible...again my worst nightmare! The decor is scary, definitely could use a fog machine and dimmer lighting, but we did come on a random Tuesday so we figured it was just that. But it was definitely a nightmare not a bad one but a good time and we will visit again during an event. ***side note*** They should turn the fried corn into a corn fritter with a street corn elite dip! Just saying it wouldn't be a nightmare to eat but it would be good. Lol

We originally came here thinking it would be a fun space given the gimmick, but the food is what brought us back. Their homemade biscuit is to die for. Their chicken is consistently juicy and their sides are fun. When we came for Valentine's Day, they had a prix fixe menu that was incredibly well-priced. They did initially act like they might turn us away because we didn't have a reservation, but the space was consistently 3/4 empty while we were there, so that's the difference between 4 and 5 stars on the service. Actual table service has always been lovely and attentive.

Amazing place. Great atmosphere, the decor is to die for. Food is priced well, and is excellent. Huge portions. Super friendly service. Wish I could have been there for horror trivia nights. Nightmare Cafe will definitely be a must stop for me anytime I'm in Vegas.

So the family and I finally made our way to Horror Cafe and it was great. We called ahead to reserve a table, however, once we walked in we were seated right away. The whole concept was pretty kool. The staff was amazing, the food was spectacular and the environment was killer. They played a lot of 90s rock, so the wife and I really enjoyed that part. We didn't get a chance to try out the toy store next door but we will on our next visit. Also, parking is located right outside on the street for an 1$ per hour.

If you love nostalgia, then you will love this place. Right next door to nightmare toys is the nightmare cafe. I met here for a business lunch and was very pleased with everything about this place. The food is fantastic and has a lot of personality just by itself. Our server Sahara, was wonderful and very intentive. The menu items have cool names based on all our favorite horror movies a generations past. I will definitely be coming back here in the future. Note however, they do not accept cash so make sure you're card is ready. If you are in the area please do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Absolutely loved it! Saw it on social media and wanted to check it out. It definitely has its own vibe. Scary movies playing above the bar, delicious food/drinks, and all horror themed. The staff was welcoming, patient and friendly with our big party and as first time customers. I will for sure be going back when in Vegas again

Really liked this place, the portions were huge and we could have shared. I had the Club sandwich and fries. I had to ask them to hold the garlic, the smell of garlic hits you in the face as you enter, which some would like, but it was way too much for me. The service was also great.
