Niki's Cafe

We went on a Sunday during lunch hour aster church. It was very dead. We were the only ones there. That made me nervous and I hoped it wouldn't be bad or plated store bought food. My impression was completely wrong. I'm seeing a lot of complaints about rude staff and dirty surroundings. I didn't notice either of these issues. The waitress was kind enough and the place was clean. They did have an urn with "ashes of problem customers". I thought that was a bit off putting. But it was meant as a joke. Didn't really matter much to me. Restaurant industry is definitely a high frustration job so I "get" it... I ordered the Nikis plate and it was very good. Everything tasted and looked homemade. I was very pleasantly surprised by this place. I'd go again definitely.

A hidden jewel a place to get home cooked food cheap and great come by and be comfortable with eating at peace can't really see this place from side road or highway not even off Callaghan they need to be seen I'm thinking they don't realize it though but I know this they do need help on tortillas and possibly fresher

Wonderful service every time we go. Great cheese enchiladas and rice, homemade chips and salsa, and delicious sweet tea are the reasons we keep going back!

The WORST tacos EVER! We just left there after getting 8 tacos and paying $23 for them and they tasted absolutely GROSS! My potato and egg taco had whites and yellow all separate [they can't even scramble an egg correctly] with NO seasoning, turned my stomach. In my years of being a Google reviewer, I have NEVER left a review like this. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

The smallest tacos I ever had. They were all tortilla and hardly any food inside. Crazy!

At Niki's we're made to feel like family. Great customer service, the food is amazingly flavorful. We enjoyed the Callaghan plate today, and their chips and salsa. We highly recommend this establishment.

Potato n egg was ok. after I finished eating guy came over and was asking questions like rushing me out. Very uncomfortable

Please don't go to this restaurant for tacos. The cook does not place any food and are very stingy with their BBQ taco for the price that my friend paid. The cook/owner refuse to take accountability for their lack of amount of food inside the taco and she became very agurmentive.

I've been here a few times for some tacos and they have yet to disappoint, the tacos had a fair amount of filling, the tortillas are homemade and make the tacos even that much more desired. I've not had a chance to try their plates but I'm looking forward to making time after seeing other patrons plates while waiting for my tacos. This hidden gem should be on your must stop taco shop list.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I ordered 2 orders of the 3 tacos and there was hardly any cheese in the bean and cheese tacos. I also ordered 3 chorizo and papa tacos and there was no chorizo in them at all. I will not be coming back to this place again.

I ordered menudo. It was not ready. Seriously, on a Saturday morning at 10:30am?! I ordered a barbacoa taco with avocado. They did not have avocado?! The taco fillings are small. I ordered a carne quisada with cheese taco. Half way through taco, I felt a long strand of hair entangled in a chunk of meat! I got up from the table and notified the waitress. I did not want to gross out my friends. They gave me another taco but they never apologized for the incident or tried to compensate in any way.

We were going to give this place a try because we see there are cars there during the weekdays. Today is cold, cloudy & wet outside and the web said they were open at 7:30am however when we arrived, it was closed. Please update your information. Thank you.

Niki's is one of the few places I can say tastes like my abuela's home cooking. The owner and her children run the place and are so friendly. The carne con chile y fideo is my favorite! I've started showing people this place and they immediately love it too! It's a little hidden away, but once you know it's there you'll always go!

I will actually go out of my way to stop by this hole in the wall restaurant to get their breakfast tacos. Let put aside the fact that when your ordering for a while department or more than twenty people, things can get a little tricky. Niki's labels their bags makes fresh flour tortillas, and really knows how to make a multitude of great breakfast tacos. The inside of the restaurant is pretty dated and drab but I could care less, with food like that, it doesn't matter. Stop by and check them out. I have yet to try them for lunch but if it is as good as their breakfast, I'll be in for a real treat.

Pretty disappointed, literally only me and another in the store on a Thursday morning and it took about 30 minutes to take 5 tacos.. very pricey for breakfast tacos too. And they barley fill the tacos up. Won't be going again

Skip it if you're going for tacos. Long wait, not cheap and isn't a pleasure to look at or sit in. You're closer to a couple of other restaurant's like Nicha's or Henry's Puffy Tacos that serve up warmer and fresher foods. Their bean and cheese tacos are lukewarm and their picadillo didn't look too pretty. I would highly suggest redeveloping some of these recipes. A good idea would be to have specials on the weekend aside from the normal ones on the window like Tortas. Once it gets revamped I will gladly return.

Ordered 4 tacos online. And they got it wrong. Wrong tortillas, wrong ingredients. Got potato instead of picadillo on one of them. Also, the tacos are tiny and the tortillas were hard. Once they finally got my order right, I let them know they wouldn't have to worry about seeing me again. I won't go back.

Decided to try this out on way to work this a.m. Breakfast tacos were great. Hot fresh flour tortillas wrapped up with Papas con Huevos (Potato&Egg taco ) and a taco made of fresh Chilaquiles with cheese. Both tacos were hot, fresh, and delicious. I Loved the hot sauce in the small bowl to add to tacos. Coffee was a light medium house blend. Service was one waitress/cashier and she handled the 4-5 tables that are here. Will have to stop by again. It was great for me.

Very poor customer service. Did a $60.00 order via doordash that never arrived. When doordash driver arrived, cafe they claim that they had been suspended from doordash and there was no order waiting for delivery. We asked if we could provide our order information and pick it up and I guess they didn't want the business. Time to close Niki Cafe!!!!!!!

Really disappointed nothing had flavor and the tacos were have filled not good for the price don't bother stoping by here!

It was so gross!! Totally not work the money at all and you have to pay for water. I would not recommend this place at all. I will never ever go back there and the lady that took my payment was super rude. The guy that waited on me was very nice it's not his fault the food tasted horrible.

Awesome food and awesome service. The tortillas are unlike any tortillas I've had in town. They also do their own spin on traditional breakfast tacos (i.e. the Sunday Taco). Definitely a must go if you are looking for authentic Mexican food. Can get gorditas there which is hard to find in many mexican restaurants. I have been there several times and have yet to not like something on the menu.

Excellent food and great service. Chicken fajitas were great. Food has authentic taste and flavor. Family owned and nice decor. Definitely recommend.

Not the best service and they sure do nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING. Ex. To go boxes, jalapenos, avacado, extra salsa and other small items that I am normally not charged for at other superior mexican restaurants. The food is not worth the extra money either, plus they are very stingy with their sides as well. Hopefully they will close down and something better will open because it is a great location.

Nice little taco joint but poor quality tacos... 6 bucks for runny green salsa, had a bean and cheese with bacon, beans tasted burned and only 1 strip of lousy bacon... Carne guisada with cheese was ok but rather small pieces of meat and not as tender as most places. Once again 6 bucks for 2 tacos not too impressed...

The food was delicious and the prices were good. I had chicken fajitas and I really enjoyed the food. Overall I had a good time eating good Mexican food at a reasonable price, I will definitely come again.

Had the bean and cheese on flour and a potato egg on flour. The beans tasted burnt and the potato was drenched in oil. I think what did it for me was the tortilla. Really bad, like cardboard. Way too dense for flour. I can find better tortillas at HEB. Sorry, I really wanted to like this place. Sometimes the best food comes from a hole in the wall. But this was just a hole in the wall.
