"Those looking for a buzzing atmosphere should head to Nikko, where the restaurant offers a seemingly endless selection of sushi rolls. There’s also sake, nigiri, and daily specials." - Parker Milner, Erin Perkins

We celebrated my primo and bro-in-law for their birthdays. The atmosphere is always good, the music stays on vibes, and everyone is singing lol. I will say the food was OK. I've been to this location twice before covid hit, and the food presentation was awesome they gave you so much food, enough for 2 people, and they had a live DJ. This time around, it wasn't like that at all. But, we still had a good time. Oh, and the sushi was delicious 😋

Came here with my boyfriend and our friends for restaurant week. Not a huge difference in price but on the restaurant weeks page it says nikko fixed price is $35 and that included an app entree and desert. When we get there the menus say $40 and when we got the checks it was $35 for the app and entree then charged $5 for the ice cream separate, I was super full by desert and wouldn’t have gotten it if I was paying $5 for it to basically go to waste. The turnover for the food took forever (which came out cold) and the service was not great. I feel like our waitress really didn’t care about us and our experience. The table next to us got their food drinks and everything before us and they got here after us. The music was loud to the point you can’t hear the people next to us. Overall i would give this place a 3/10 and probably will not be back.

Came here on my visit to Charlotte, North Carolina and their sushi was great. I had salmon, smoked salmon, blue fin tuna, and octopus. Also had the VIP roll based on their recommendation. It was all delicious and service great. Restaurant looked nice inside although it was dead on a late Tuesday night, which I prefer anyways. Would visit again.

Google
Food was average at best, definitely overpriced for the quality. The service was rushed. We were cut off mid story to place orders and the bills were brought soon after meals were served without asking if anyone (party of 18) wanted any dessert or any more drinks. My salmon even had a bone in it.

The atmosphere was very nice and the DJ played good upbeat partying music. They add a 20% gratuity to your bill. The food was pretty good. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and shrimp egg rolls. My friends said they enjoyed their food as well.

There’s a reason this restaurant is under 4 stars (3.9 at the time of this review), and I’m sure they believe ‘loud music’ means ‘better food’ when, in reality it just deafens the complaints. Came here during restaurant week by accident. We had a reservation though, and despite a minor hostess error, we got seated! The restaurant was packed, so although we didnt expect great service, it was pretty horrible. Our waitress was incredibly inattentive, and the loud music made getting her attention a lot harder. My appetizer also came out AFTER my food, which is a pretty major flaw in service. Food was NOT good. I had the Chicken Teriyaki with fried rice, as well as the Chicken Karage. The images wont do it justice. It was dry and lifeless with no passion behind it. Felt like they didnt season anything, and the fried rice tasted more artificial than cooked. I cant describe it fully, but it wasnt good. The rest of my group felt the same way about their food. One person had the Ramen (with already low standards) and said the broth was bad. We also had some complaints about the sushi being “too fishy.” I didnt try it myself but this came from my friend who’s a manager at a sushi restaurant, so do with that what you wil. My drink (Sakejito) was also hot garbage. Tasted like nothing. Add alcohol to a club soda with some mint and you’d drink what I had. The Tokyo Slipper drink was solid though. Its apparent that the major appeal of this restaurant is the vibes. The music in itself was decent. By 8pm, they just played a mix of hits (especially club-esque) for the remainder of our time here. This is why im giving it 2 stars. The music is also way too loud for the atmosphere, as it’s not cutout for dancing. Even my wife’s smart watch indicated it was too loud, funnily enough. I wont be back, but I hope everyone and their girl has a great ‘event’ here…until they taste the food.

Never Again If I could give zero stars, I would. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Charlotte. Let’s start with the fact that they only had one server for the entire restaurant. ONE. As expected, service was slow, disorganized, and downright frustrating. It took well over an hour for our food to come out, and when it finally did, the server had the nerve to bring it out on a dirty cleanup tray—you know, the kind they use to bus tables with dirty dishes? Absolutely unsanitary and unacceptable. To make matters worse, the soup I ordered wasn’t just lukewarm—it was cold. Not “cooled off while waiting for a server” cold, but like it had just come out of the fridge. When we voiced our concerns, the server got an attitude like we were the problem. Her energy was nasty, dismissive, and just plain rude by the end of it. Between the cold food, the hour-plus wait, and the gross presentation, I can confidently say I will never be back. Do yourself a favor—skip Nikko’s. There are too many good spots in Charlotte to waste your time and money here.

We had the most amazing time! The atmosphere is a whole vibe. It is loud once the DJ starts but we came to dance too, so we were all about it. The bartender gave such a good drink selection based on what I wanted. We tried plenty of dishes & all were good. I was hoping the sushi would wow me & was all type disappointed after hearing from some friends. Maybe I just didn’t get the right specialty rolls. I tried the Hawaiian Pokey Roll and the tomatoes were a first for me when it comes to being added to sushi. (Not sure I loved it.) Looking forward to next time & trying a few more dishes.

Yelp
I came on a Friday night a little after 8:30pm. The place was such a vibe! There was a dj which I believe they have a dj every Friday and Saturday night. It was a little crowded so I do recommend maybe making reservations unless you don't mind sitting at the sushi bar or a small wait. As for the food it was ok.. the cocktails were not pleasing at all so next time I will definitely just order saki. Great for a birthday celebration or a girls night out

Kate M.

Yelp
Was excited since read best sushi and ramen. Was SO disappointed. $120 comedy of errors. Karage chicken came with no sauce and wasn't seasoned so dry AF. Ramen - read all ingredients listed and it did not say corn, which I can't eat. Then it comes and is filled with corn and it's like they poured the corn can into broth. Vegetable tempura- raw - especially the sweet potato - so hard Shrimp tempura roll - fried shrimp was burnt but they still used it Chicken teriyaki- zucchini was burnt and a soggy mess like when you cut it up yesterday and then reheat

Yelp
2nd time at Nikkos... first time was fine and food was ok. 2nd time I went with a group and we reserved the private room for a celebration. The waitress, Seprine, was rude As ever! She rushed us to order, didnt refill any drinks, hell she didnt even give everyone in the group a menu! She was very dismissive and I hate the fact that gratuity is included for groups bc she didnt deserve a dime from anyone in our group. We asked her for a drink menu and I proceeded to hold my hand out for the menu and she slammed it down on the table as if she didnt see my hand out. The food was dry and bland. Ive had better food at drive thru Japanese spots. My shrimp and chicken were overcooked, vegetables very bland, and rice was basic. The vibe with the live dj is the only thing nikkos has to offer. Eat before you go and if Seprine is your waitress, move!

Taylor A.

Yelp
I used to love Nikko but the food and drinks have significantly declined. The food was over salted and of questionable quality. I came with a large group and not one person was satisfied with their meal. The drinks were also barely drinkable. The atmosphere is like a club with a DJ playing so loudly you can hardly hear the person sitting next to you. Overall, they need a total revamp to get things back to the quality they used to be.

Will B.

Yelp
I've never left a review before, so congratulations to this restaurant for being the first one horrible enough to make me do it. My party was imprisoned at this restaurant for over 3 hours while we begged for our checks. Budget at least that long if you're hopeful to reach the per person minimum of $75. I asked for a glass of water, but instead received the owner standing on a chair shaking her ass. She might've been the only bright light of the night. I hope the 20% mandatory tip goes to her and no one else.

Jenn P.

Yelp
My cocktail was the best part of my experience - the Minty Mango Mule was delightful. The food was good but not as great as I hoped or it looked. (Flavor was lacking, soy sauce and other dipping sauces helped.) The service was great until a large party was set beside us, at which point our server appeared stretched thin and other staff started waiting on us (we tipped the busboy if that gives you any indication). Our server did pop over but was in a rush. We got there a little ahead of the crowd and the music was at a mellow level. After around 8pm it got much louder and it was more difficult to hear our conversation. The selection was decent, however. The restaurant itself is very cute and has a good vibe.

Monica B.

Yelp
Food had no flavor. For the price the food should be better. Chicken and Steak dinner was bland bland bland for $43. Can get better food in the mall food court. Nice vibe with the DJ but that's about it. Service was nice and timely.

Jeanelle K.

Yelp
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! No wait, the atmosphere was beautiful, the food was amazing, the DJ bomb, the waiter nice. This is easily one of charlottes gems. Can't wait to go back!

Charles M.

Yelp
Food was mediocre for the price that was listed. I expected a some seasoning for 26$ chicken teriyaki it was bland most of the flavor came from the yum yum sauce, As for the service I thought it was a service with a smile and not service with a side eye And the place is nice but the dj is just blasting music so it's hard to talk to your partner.

Eric B.

Yelp
Place sucks. The drama queen who claims to be a manager who is actually a hostess, refused to seat us at 9:50 when the restaurant closes at 11pm. Written on their website 10:30 pm and 11pm on Google. Meanwhile 3 other tables were sat and customers at the bar. Terrible customer service, no respect for customers. Hostess aka manager raged we gave him hell what a clown

Bryan E.

Yelp
Na na na na na na na hey hey hey SAKI BOMB!!! Nikko is perched pleasantly in the heart of downtown Charlotte in the Arlington building and for good reason. The energy was on from the start, the manager of the establishment had our attention from go with her antics and saki bombs of course. I watched her parade around from table to table ensuring everyone was having a good time. I order the chicken fried rice with coconut shrimp and it was everything I needed and more. The ambiance was great in fact so great that on Friday nights they have a DJ that comes in and spins toons while you're eating. Let me say my mine was really doing his thing on the 1s and 2s. I recommend Nikko as a premier pre game spot to wet the whistle before making your way to the down town club scene!

Amanda B.

Yelp
Rice tasted like nothing. Service was horrible. Waited a whole hour for a salad and sushi, I'm appalled. Trash trash trash, do not go here.

Mikayla E.

Yelp
BEWARE Just because you see it on TikTok doesn't mean it's like that in person!!!! Our bday girl picked this place from a video she saw. This food was not fresh & service sucks. Sushi tasted dry (not sure how that happens). Owners packed every inch of this place with tables and chairs. Expect to inch your way past everyone to squeeze to your table. This place is NOT handicap accessible and honestly packed to the brim, likely a fire hazard. Drinks taste like water - as in, if you order a cocktail after the alcohol and juice they fill the other 50% of the glass with water). Our service was a ZERO! We received dirty silverware after our food arrived and our server was able to inch back to our table. Our drinks were wrong then watered down when we finally received them. Also, even though the menu says gratuity is automatically included for parties over 6... oddly enough our party of 4 had gratuity included. So either I read that wrong or you can expect if you bring a family to expect to pay more. You definitely come here for the vibes, music (...mixed between mostly pop, a little hip hop & r&b) & lights...not the food or drinks. Maybe the drinks are better at the bar when you can watch the bartender make them. If you want Japanese food don't come here. I heard the bathroom looks nice though which is why I gave them 1 star.

Yelp
Nikko was delicious and the service was great! Love that this restaurant keeps a fun and upbeat vibe even on a weekday. My date and I loved the spring rolls and drinks and both our meals were delicious! I'll be back!

Rika T.

Yelp
This place has drastically went down over the years. My friend had a party and in the room and the service was slow... we had to order drinks at bar. The portions are extremely small now versus when I went 5 years ago. The food actually tasted good. This place is focused on the "club" and not the food anymore. The drinks were NOT good! It just wasn't great!

Tanisha W.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday night and there was a nice full restaurant with good music. It gave me a little "club" vibe without the dance floor. I will say parking isn't the best and not easy to find the restaurant from the parking deck, so just allow a little time for parking. We were a party of about 13-15 ppl so they sat us in the nice room in the back which was intimate and private. The food was delicious, I had the hibachi chicken and the Contemporary Berry Cocktail. The Cocktail was a little too sour for my taste but if sour is your thing you'll enjoy. The one thing I didn't like was that we only had 1 server for the whole party which made the service very slow. The server was nice, but it took a little too long for the food to come. I would return maybe with a smaller party.

Ruan R.

Yelp
Loud after a certain time. Food takes forever. Staff is rude. I couldn't even hear the person next to me. We ended up taking the food to go and heading to another spot for drinks. Everything was disappointing.

Svetlana T.

Yelp
The sushi here is amazing!! We ordered a big plate of a few different types of sushi. Did not regret coming to this place. Customer service here was also really good! Definitely coming back for more sushi.

Aida E.

Yelp
I ordered the shrimp for appetizer and literally killed it with no crumbs. Alongside that I ordered a filet mignon hibachi and that was amazing. I was a little disappointed by how they had not as much vegetables as they did rice and meat, but it was still really great. It took a little for our order to be placed, but our waitresss was super sweet and always was on it to make sure our water cups weren't low or if we needed any additional items. It's super cute and chill inside, but most of all I loved the music that played. Whoever was DJ was killin it!

Ivory P.

Yelp
Baby roaches on the walls. Glad I only had drinks. Will not be returning. There are so many other options for music, food and drinks.

Jill P.

Yelp
I've never given a review before but felt compelled to share, this restaurant was one of the worst experiences I have had trying to go out to eat. We had a reservation, and still waited 30 mins to be seated. After being seated we only ordered 4 rolls of shushi for the table, and the food did not come after an hour and a half. At this point we decided to leave as it was nearly 9:45 pm. I will never be back.

Jahdiya T.

Yelp
i won't come back. i was invited for a birthday party and the party gradually came in throughout the night, the server barely came to the table. as far as my food service, i ordered the teriyaki chicken and the chicken was in by chunks and i asked for extra onions and i had absolutely none, not 1 onion on my plate. i had to send my food back. i was suppose to receive soup before my meal and that never came or was mentioned. other peopl

Paul C.

Yelp
Soooo I'm currently here eating and I'd say if this was strictly a bar they're definitely winning but don't come for the restaurant component. Everything was bad that I had, service wasn't too bad though. Drinks pretty legit.

Annie C.

Yelp
Came for dinner and sat indoors. We made a reservation although there were not many people on a Tuesday night and the place is ginormous which I liked. For food, the sushi was good but some friends got the ramen which was not a great portion size and left them feeling hungry after the meal. The cocktails were amazing and the mackerel was also good. All in all, the food wasn't worth the high prices. The three star rating is because the food was average and some wait staff were hanging around without their masks on. The service was excellent though and our waiter was very attentive and nice.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Met with several friends for a birthday dinner. This place is raunchy and so not worth the money. There is a DJ situated in the middle of tables, you couldn't even hear the person sitting next to you, it was so loud and obnoxious. Service was seriously lacking, everything was slow and salads came AFTER our meals!!! My salmon was super thin and dried out, the whole thing was so overpriced and disappointing. For $30 a plate, the vegetables were tasteless and the shrimp came with tails on?? Even the drinks were all $10-14, for what you get was awful. Lots of teens here, whole atmosphere was like a pick up club. Wouldn't recommend ever.

Precious B.

Yelp
Honey.... Prepare yourself because I surely was not. They need to change the name to Club NIKKO the way they were turning up in here. When we first arrived it was a normal vibe with great music. We sat at the sushi bar because it was packed. I noticed the bartenders were wearing more lounge attire and that confused me considering this was a restaurant. We sit and look over the menu and start to notice the music is getting a little more lit. We are enjoying it, it was a nice hip hop / r&b vibe. By the time the food hit our table we were in a full blown club. I was instantly taken back to college with Juvenile & Travis Porter blasting through the speakers. The bartenders attire suddenly made sense. Girls twerking over the sushi, I saw a penis like dessert get delivered to someone's table & frats strolling. Lol. It was a lot going on but I enjoyed myself. My sushi was great! I couldn't tell you what I ordered because I was so distracted by everything going on around me but we smashed !! So if you want to eat good and be taken back to the 99 and the 2000s hit up Nikkos on Saturday around 8 PM!

Elisabeth F.

Yelp
Altogether it was a great experience! The food was so tasty and quickly served. The drinks were so good that we tried several. We had a party of 18 and our server was happy and pleasant the whole time. She got everything right. Good music by a live DJ.

Jeanelle S.

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED I can't wait to come back! We got right in no wait on a Saturday night, waiter came right over to us, food came out so darn fast and was absolutely DELICIOUS. Our favorite was the seafood rice. Sushi super fresh. The place a vibe and the music was bomb!!!! I've been searching for a place high and low like this and I've finally found it. Not sure why the reviews don't match because this was a 5 star place for me.

Renek M.

Yelp
Nikkos was one of the first places in Charlotte that I visited when I first started eating sushi over 15 years ago. Loved it! However, my last visit wasn't so pleasant. There was a strong sewer odor coming from either the kitchen or the restroom in which the host sat us right by. The smell was atrocious, too the point where it was hard to enjoy my food. The rice was too hard. But the sushi as always was great. The probltion size is sushi was smaller but still delicious in taste. I probably won't be back. Sincerely , A True at Heart

Annie S.

Yelp
My boss and I came to have dinner to see if this would be a great place to do our Christmas party this year. I actually haven't been back in 4 years and they have been open for 23 years I think? The food was amazing. I'm into spicy and the mussels were a great appetizer with a nice kick to it. The cowboy roll is a very popular roll and had this Smokey taste to it. (Highly recommend) The Hawaiian roll was sweet but full of tropical flavors. We also tried the NY strip teriyaki dish with fried rice and it was delicious. Also comes with your choice of miso soup or salad with ginger dressing and we tried both and loved it!

Kenya B.

Yelp
Everyone raved about this place so I decided to go and check it out. This was my first time actually trying "real" sushi. I could probably eat a whole bowl of the firecracker shrimp app. The batter was light and just the right amount of "fire" for the dish. I usually don't get any thing that remotely looks raw but I tried almost everything on my dish. My favorite was the spicy tuna roll! It was so good, I could probably get ten of them. The smoked salmon was also good. The ice cream a miss. It had a weird after taste so I didn't finish it.

Brian T.

Yelp
Hadn't been to Nikko in over 15 years and was pleasantly surprised that it's still as good or better than before. Ambience 10/10 Food 10/10 Service 10/10. Wife and daughter loved it too, we'll be back!

Erica J.

Yelp
If you want loud music, horrible service and over priced drinks that aren't even filled to the top... then this is the place to go. We had a reservation at 8 since that was the only time available. We walked in and it felt more like a nightclub minus the dancing. The DJ was horrible and his selection of music really needed to be mixed up a bit. It was way to loud to even have a conversation so speak loudly or move closer to one another. It look forever to get a server and even longer to get our drinks. I ordered a goose dirty martini, whatever I was served, it was gross. It was replaced with another gross drink that was only half filled. $15 for a gross half filled martini!?! That was removed from our bill. I ordered the OMG roll that was mostly cucumber. Not impressed with a single thing about this place.

Austin M.

Yelp
Very very amazing. Staff is great. Ms. Nikko is the best. Food is ok but the atmosphere and drinks are amazing. I recommend for everyone. What an amazing place!

Jamie K.

Yelp
A popular place for birthday celebrations. A reservation is a must!! The music is always a vibe on the weekends at night. My favorite menu items is the Firecracker popcorn shrimp and volcano roll!

Donnell W.

Yelp
I visited Nikko's for dinner on New Year's Eve with my girlfriend and my friend and his girlfriend. We made reservations for 10p because all the other reservations were already taken for the night. We arrived at the restaurant around 9:45p. There was a line outside of the door at the hostess station. Despite having reservations, we decided to wait in the hostess line. The line moved quite rapidly. We let the hostess know we had a reservation and she told us it would be a minute before we received our table. We waited for a little over 30 mins with no hope of getting a table. We grabbed four seats at the bar and decided to celebrate our New Year's Eve dinner differently than we initially imagined. We ordered our food from the bar. I ordered a Mojito, which was really good. I'd highly recommend it. The bartender was also pretty cool. I cannot recall his name, but he was helpful. I ordered the hibachi chicken alongside the OMG Roll. My girlfriend ordered hibachi shrimp. The food was absolutely average. The chicken was dry and the teriyaki sauce they used was the only hope for the flavoring of the food and vegetables. There was also an up-charge for fried rice and exchange for steamed rice (which has become somewhat of a norm at hibachi restaurants). The OMG Roll was crab salad wrapped in cucumber. It was actually pretty good. Overall, I'm giving the restaurant three stars because I was vexingly dissatisfied with the restaurant's service and inability to uphold its reservations. We would have went elsewhere, and will absolutely go elsewhere in the future. The hibachi was also tasteless and there are other more palatable hibachi options in Charlotte.

Ciera J.

Yelp
I went to this place randomly after my normal place also randomly quit serving sushi. I was greeted promptly. I thought it was over priced for what I got. I ordered the salmon roll and the super crunchy roll which was delish. The salmon roll only had salmon and rice. I didn't think the quality was there for a $25 lunch.

Yelp
We went here like 10 years ago and were dreaming of the chance to going back because the experience had been so wonderful that first time and the food was so good. Unfortunately times have changed the place. The decor was the same but it was more of a sports bar now than an upscale yet urban Japanese restaurant. We arrived and couldn't find the entrance, like many people we did the "walk past a couple of times til you figure it out" walk. When we got inside we had arrived early for our reservation (20 mins or less prior) and the host stand seemed to panic about it. We said it was fine, we could wait until our turn. They offered us outdoor seating, we said we didn't want to sit outside. Who makes a reservation a week ahead of time to eat outside? They said they could seat us inside as long as we didn't go over our reservation time. Then tried to add a joke "like you know sitting there like 5 hrs past!" Should have taken that as a sign that this time would be different. Anywho, place was packed. We ordered our drinks, they came out quickly enough. Decided to try something alcoholic, the waiter was nice enough to let us know the strawberry purée they were using tasted weird and recommend something else which we liked very much. This is what saved this from being a one star. We ordered our food, and the atmosphere started to get a little crowded, an old scraggy looking DJ started setting up, this was warning number 2. We saw our waiter coming back with our tray of food. He was about to give it to us, but he set it down on the table across the walkway from us and rushed to the door. I assumed it was to stop some guests from walking out, and to check them in. Nope, it was actually just his friends. He was cutting up with them, not once did he go to the host station, and you normally don't dap random guests and stand there butting shoulders. Our food was right there, we really could have slid out from our table and just grabbed it ourselves. He eventually started back towards us, then his manager said something and he turned and went in another direction for another few minutes. Our food was still sitting on this open table just across from us. He came back and delivered our dishes, the food was bland, I ordered a seafood dish with fried rice on the side and my partner got a filet mignon with lobster tail. We ate it all because it was expensive, not because it tasted good. Overall, this is a big change from our last experience and we should have checked yelp before going back. This was just sad. We thankfully left just as the DJ was picking up, because he was leaving things to be desired as well, and only 30 mins after our reservation time of 7:30.

Yelp
I've had great sushi here in the past. Lately, it's definitely gone down hill. No mgmt seems to be at the restaurant running it. I ordered the omakase with a friend today and explained to the sever I had celiac so to please ask that the chef make an rolls gluten free. The sashimi and maki was great but the roll had soft shell crab in it so it obviously was not gluten free. I asked that they replace it so she brought me a California roll. Setting aside the fact that Kanu is also not gluten free, when I spend $75 on a sushi boat I expect decent sushi. Not to be given grocery store sushi bc you don't want to be bothered. Additionally, sushi is a great option for those of us with celiac and I'm used to most sushi places treating the allergy more seriously. This place did not want to be bothered.

Ethan F.

Yelp
We didn't realize it was a nigh club style. Music is unbelievably loud. If ur into that then fine but we weren't aware. Service was HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Food is also pretty bad. Don't come here. Overpriced

Mark W.

Yelp
Party of 6, everyone get dinner and I had to wait 20min for mine, after everyone got theirs. Manager...could have cared less. Will Not return.

Eddel F.

Yelp
Food was amazing! I had the lobster sushi roll. Always have a seat ready the times Ive been. Definitely will be back.

Daisy S.

Yelp
A friend suggested this places since I was seeking out sushi and I was a little hesitant due to the reviews. There was no need! We walked in and the place was bumping. A DJ was killing it - great music selections - and I was nervous there would be a crazy wait. There was, but there was plenty of room at the sushi bar so the bf and I decided we'd eat there. I loved sitting at the sushi bar. Those chefs were on fire the entire time. Our server, Melissa, was like a ninja and always popped up when we needed water or to check on us. She was super positive and nice. Our rolls were delicious! We received them promptly which was even more impressive based on the volume of tickets the chefs had. We had a great experience and would go back.

Yelp
Excellent, creative sushi with a big big menu of creations that aren't the 101 stuff of so many susherias. Huge, huge flaw? Terrible service. We had the Cucumber Roll a wrap with a shiso leaf and some ponzu, that was one of the best, most delicately flavored things that I've had from a sushi bar. The Ballantyne Roll, their tribute to the JB (Jewish Boy) roll, was high fat and over sauced. Less would have been more here. The Super Crunchy Roll was excellent. The California roll was a great interpretation of the seemingly obligatory standard. The ambiance in the place was pretty and upscale. Now for the stars down: The music? Waaay too loud in a joint with concrete floors and hard ceilings. It pushes conversation volume up. If the place had been more fully occupied it would have been unbearable The server was the ice Queen. She had a big table, consuming top-dollar sushi platters like Jabba the Hutt after a three day cleanse. So she didn't really size us up as worth her time. There are Russian trains that head to the wilds of Siberia more often than she showed up at our table. They dropped food, and we still didn't even have chopsticks! Water rationing became necessary, because she wasn't about to break away from the cash cow table. I had to even hunt her down, just to pay the check. Great food. Feeling totally unwelcome. Three it is.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying that you don't really go to Nikko for the food. While their sushi is good, it's a little on the pricey side and is nothing outside of the norm. The main reason people go to Nikko is for the vibes? What does that mean? Well, If you are seated closer to the main entrance, you will be seated by the DJ Booth. Yes, a dj, playing all kinds of throwbacks and good music during your sit down dinner. Sounds weird, but if you're in the right vibe for it, it's so much fun! Definitely suggest going with a group as it just makes the whole experience a lot more fun. It's definitely on the louder side due to the dj but you can still hear the waitress, talk to your friends, etc. The owner of the restaurant is constantly walking around, dancing with tables, standing on tables (yes you read that right) - so she'll probably try to get you to dance at some point during the dinner. But definitely a fun place to check out!

Yelp
Disappointed they expected a $1200 minimum(!) for a private party. We get pushed to buy drinks and food to meet this amount. I wish I had know earlier when attending this birthday event. The food was average - but no means a reason to pay this amount for 15 people. Find somewhere else that doesn't need a minimum this high- red flag!

Yelp
I ordered shumai, the soba noodles appetizer, and the sexy salmon roll to-go. The shumai and the roll were delicious, but the roll was only 6 pieces. I expected a larger roll. The soba noodles were just okay. Overall I'll definitely be back to check out more menu items. Decent prices, also.

Yelp
This place is not what I expected it to be. Customer service was HORRIBLE. We may as well have been invisible. Our waiter was somewhat decent but kept forgetting a lot. Food was not worth the money, was pretty basic and dry. I've had a lot better sushi than what this place has to offer. The ambiance of this place is great and it looks like it has so much more potential. Won't be coming back.

Yelp
I been here numerous of times. Dont know why I didn't write a review. Was here on a Friday night for a bday dinner.. 8 ppl in our group.. Greeted by the hostess. She didn't really try to help me figure out where my party was since I was late. She just told me to go inside and look for myself. Umm ok. My orders: 2 lycees martini. Yum, not overly strong and love the lycees My usual: edamame and seaweed salad. Typical and nothing to complain about. Super crunchy roll sushi: cooked sushi with shrimp tempura. Sooo yum.. Joanne (owner) was lively as ever. Sent our bday girl some birthday bombs (shots) and overall everybody was happy.. Our waitress was on point. Water was alway filled. My martinis and food all arrive on time! Nikko's is the perfect place to pre-party before an event.. Get some good food in your tummy and nice fancy drinks to start the night

Yelp
Food was delicious. Apparently the air conditioner was broken so it was a bit hot making it a bit uncomfortable.
