Google
i think i came with way too high expectations after hearing so many good things about this spot. while the service was nice and attentive, i felt like the sushi was just okay. the fish quality wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t the best either. as someone who prefers nigiri over rolls, i wish they had a larger nigiri selection. however, their hand rolls make them unique and stand out from other ayce sushi spots. i think my favorite item on the menu was the ice cream that i had for dessert

Not too many non-shrimp and masago options. My partner has a limited diet so I don’t recommend for them but the friend rice was good. Also the salmon with mango hand roll was good. The ice cream with vanilla and matcha was amazing. Very little seaweed for seaweed salad. But overall, limited menu but pretty good if you don’t have a limited diet.

Google
This place is amazing. If you’ve ever been to a all you can eat sushi you know it takes a while to get your food. Not here! The signature rolls were great and usually we don’t finish everything bout we ordered 3 appetizers 4 regular rolls and four signature rolls. Between me and my girl we devoured it. And we had room for Ube flavored ice cream!

Google
Quality AYCE sushi. I’m a foodie. I love good authentic quality sushi. The rice and vinegar mix is up to par. Rice vs fish amount and perfect sized. The quality and creativity of the rolls and appetizers high grade. If you like the Americanized version sushi they have a few rolls that have cream cheese and other cooked food. If you want your true authentic they have a good list of that too. You can even order Uni and sweet shrimp on the side for advanced sushi lovers like me. All for only $32.99 for dinner. Location is great and love the 3 levels inside. Waitress came around the right amount of times as well. Worth trying.

This place is amazing! As a sushi fanatic, I often find that some sushi restaurants don’t meet my expectations, but this one truly exceeded them. The food is extraordinary, and the fish is incredibly fresh. I love the atmosphere, and the service is top-tier! The vibe is fun and inviting, with all the servers always on standby to help, serving us with a smile. Our server, Ryan, was very friendly and helpful. My favorite rolls are the Dynamite and the Dragon on Fire, and I hope everyone gets a chance to try them! Finally, this AYCE sushi experience is perfect inside and out! I would recommend this place to everyone, and I’ll definitely be back because it’s now my favorite AYCE sushi spot!

Google
My family and I came here for lunch and had a wonderful experience. For starters, the restaurant was very clean and comfortable. The waiters and waitress were kind and quick to offer help. The waitress who waited on our table was extremely friendly. We had our three young children with us and she was very accomodating, even offering practice chopsticks for the older children. The food was fresh and was served quickly. The fish tasted fresh and the rolls were of generous size. The appetizers were delicious as well. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend this place to our friends and family.

Yelp
Food: BEST AYCE SUSHI IVE BEEN TO! Their menu items are fairly good all around. Some AYCE places don't have good options or good tasting food for certain categories such as appetizers, hand rolls, etc. so l end up only eating nigiri BUT this place had something good each section and their fish tasted fresh + good quality! Order - * Saku (White Tuna) Nigiri - tried white tuna for the first time and loved this! * Maguro (Tuna) Nigiri - fresh! * Sake (Salmon) Nigiri - good quality! yummy * Hamachi (Yellowtail) Nigiri - fresh and good * Ebi (Shrimp) Nigiri - decent * Unagi (Eel) Nigiri - i love eel and this portion and flavor was so good * Tai (Red Snapper) Nigiri - so good! i loved the flavor * Tobiko Nigiri - fresh * Nikko Roll - seared salmon and tempura was such a good tasty combo * Ginza Roll - unique because it has a yolk sauce! flavorful and spicy * Salmon Tataki - so flavorful i love * Hamachi Jalapeño - loved the spicy kick! * Hamachi Carpaccio - so good and fresh. powerful saucy taste. * Miso Soup - decent and standard * Takoyaki - pretty decent * Sake Handroll - it was seared and i love the taste of seared fish! had a strong mango kick and was a unique combo. * Salmon Tataki - tasted similar to a taco to me. had avocado which i love * Beef Skewers - a bit on the salty side and not as tender as i thought it would be * Matcha Ice Cream - pretty good matcha kick and taste which i love * Vanilla Ice Cream - standard good basic vanilla Service: Very nice and efficient workers who are very helpful! Ambiance: A little dim lit nice restaurant vibe. There's two floors. It's clean and well designed and decorated.

Yelp
4.5 Stars - Great food, fast friendly service, clean lively atmosphere and an absolutely great value. Unlike many of the AYCE options I've tried in Chicago they don't get stingy on the fish portions or reduce the quality. The Toro+avocado dish was a standout, all the nigiri were decently sized/fresh and the robata was flavorful and tender for when you want a nice break from the cold dishes. I'm also a sucker for Ika Sansai (squid salad) which I was very happy to see on an AYCE menu. I'll def be back and highly recommend. We walked in at 5pm on a Sunday but they filled up quickly so you might wanna call ahead.

Yelp
For an AYCE spot, this sushi is so fresh! Everything was so flavorful and the perfect amount where you didn't feel like you would waste anything. I was sad because the hamachi jalapeño and salmon sashimi dish were our favorites but you can only order them once time for the whole duration of the sitting. That would be my only bad thing to say though! The rolls were very good and the cocktails were also great. It's super big with a full bar and lots of seating. Our servers were very kind and everyone was so helpful!

Yelp
This is the best all-you-can-eat sushi in the city! The menu offered is good all around, including the appetizers and hand rolls. The portions on the appetizers are also quite generous so make sure you save room for the sushi itself! The fish is very fresh, and the hand rolls (pictured) had the perfect balance of flavors. The ice cream included in the AYCE is also delicious and a great way to end the meal. I will very much be returning as soon as I can! The wait staff is also very friendly and quite chatty. They always will check in and make sure you are enjoying your food.

Yelp
Another AYCE Sushi restaurant has entered the city of Chicago! Right down the street from Sushi Taku, Nikko Sushi Izakaya is a welcome addition to a very popular part of Wicker Park. Came here on a Friday afternoon because a friend wanted to try it. Heard it was popular and I could tell as there were already a handful of people waiting before they opened at noon. We went for the lunch AYCE. There is a dinner option later and more expensive, I assume it has more offerings. You can also order a la carte, but the best deal would be the AYCE... if you can consume that much! :). Service was fast and friendly. Our water came out (twice! Haha) and they were very attentive. We sat outside because it was a perfect day! Food came out quickly and well plated. Also had a peach flavored spiked lemonade. Delicious! I liked the salmon nigiri , nikko roll, and the chicken karaage the best. Make sure to get their green tea ice cream ~ made in house! It was delicious! Taking one star off because they forgot one item that we ordered, the udon. We didn't ask for it because we were too stuffed anyway. But it would have been nice if they asked if we were missing anything. Also, I noticed the server's spit kinda land on the table as she was talking to us. It wasn't intentional and I know it happens but it was kinda unprofessional and didn't like that part. Again I know it was an accident. Service was quick, fast, and friendly! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Nice place to go to for AYCE sushi. Kinda fancy and cozy inside compared to other AYCE places that I have been to in the past. Their plates, bowls and soy sauce containers were super cute! The sushi was really good. I loved the selection of hand rolls, signature rolls, and Nigiri that was available. All seemed fresh and the presentation was beautiful. All of our food came out pretty quick, which is something that I am not used to at other Ayce sushi places. The service was nice and friendly, although our server did remind us (a lot) that we needed to order only as much as we can consume. The penalty for food that was not eaten is $1 per piece. We only left a couple pieces of sushi as we were so full. Other places are normally ok with it and won't charge if there is 2-3 pieces left uneaten. Our server was pretty adamant about us finishing our food or else there would be a charge. Me and my 2 friends were already so full that we could not fathom another bite and was fine if they charged us. But our server was being nice and since it was our first time he let it slide. We will know for next time!

Yelp
Tried the all-you-can-eat dinner at Nikko Sushi Izakaya in Wicker Park for $32 -- a great value, especially in such a trendy neighborhood. The restaurant is fairly new but already drawing a crowd, and for good reason. Some pieces stood out more than others. The scallop nigiri was easily the best bite of the night -- fresh and buttery. The tai carpaccio (red snapper) from the sushi bar was another favorite. I'd recommend sticking with nigiri and hand rolls -- they were consistently good, while the larger rolls can fill you up too quickly. If you do go for a roll, the spring citrus is the one to get. Skip the mussels -- they were the one clear miss. And be aware: they do require you to finish the rice on your nigiri or you may get charged extra, so come hungry. Overall, a solid AYCE sushi spot with great highlights if you order smart. I'll definitely be back for the scallop nigiri alone.

Yelp
Nikko Sushi is a relatively newer restaurant and I have been seeing a lot of posts on Instagram. My friends and I took the opportunity to visit with a mamas night out. At first glance, the place seems to be a bit fancier and more sophisticated than the other AYCE sushi places in town. The restaurant itself is sleek as well as the plates and dishes which everything was served on. As for the food - everything was fresh and of decent quality. The server gave us sheets to choose our items. We did order a bit much on the first pass as we are used to things slowly trickling in. It all came pretty fast and close together. On the other hand, we were happy with our mixed drinks that had just enough of a kick to them. We made it just in time for happy hour to get the Hawaiian Spiked Lemonades in all 3 flavors. We may be back if in the area, but there are also a lot of sushi places to try in the city.

Yelp
We came here on Saturday night. It was busy but not packed. This restaurant is bigger than I thought. It has three floors, so you don't have to worry that there will be a long wait for a table. This sushi place is AYCE for $33. They also have hand rolls as part of their AYCE. The only downside is the sushi bar section, where each person can only order one item once. The sushi bar items were very good. Their other items on the AYCE are pretty good. Make sure you get their soft-served matcha ice cream. It was so good that I ordered it twice. The waiter told us that they got their ice cream from Match En. The service was good, and the staff would come back to check if you needed to order more food.

Yelp
I decided to try out this place after seeing it on social media. There are three floors with restrooms on the main and bottom. There is only one person at a time for the restroom on the main floor. I recommend taking public transportation or a rideshare. The ayce is $33 for dinner. The sushi bar option at the very top, you can only order one item from that list for the whole duration you're there. The hand rolls down to the desserts, you can order as much as you want. As a whole, it's a great deal and perfect for groups or dates. The signature rolls with cream cheese, personally I'm not a big fan of those. Everything else is good quality. Service was good but there were times that they got the wrong items. The beef and chicken skewers could have been more tender. I recommend trying out the toro wrap or walu tataki, hand rolls, any of the zensai, signature rolls, nigiri, and desserts. Overall, it's s 4.5 out of 5.

Yelp
Been seeing all of the hype about this spot and I've been to a handful of AYCE places in the city so it sparked my curiosity. Location wise, this place ranks better than Sushi Taku down the street. The sushi tastes more fresh and the appetizers look more appetizing. I love that you can get skewers here so that's a win for Nikko. They limit you on appetizers that lean closer to 'nigiri' - 1 per person. These were really good! The specialty roll variety here is different from other AYCE spots which I enjoyed seeing. I always like when restaurants create their own roll and name it fun names like 'Division Roll' or 'Bulls Roll'. The nigiri wasn't to bad! Like I said, fish is fresher than Sushi Taku but nothing too outstanding. Rice to fish ratio is average for Chicago spots. The other win here is that they do handrolls, so this is a great option to change up the nigiri rotation! Overall, solid spot for AYCE but you don't need to run here!

Yelp
Taku was always my go to on wicker park for AYCE Sushi, but with time quality have been decreasing and always have been the same flavor with different rolls. Now this place opened two blocks down the street and passed to be my 1st place on AYCE sushi to eat in wicker park, and I'm keep coming back for this place. Love the decor around the restaurant and the booth were comfy to eat as much as you can on 2 hrs. Please don't pass on the premium dishes that is included one pwr person on the AYCE they worth it, and the grilled pork belly is fantastic
google avatar

Sean Y.

Yelp
Nikko is a fantastic addition to the AYCE sushi scene in Chicago- the fish was fresh and came in generous portions. The style of food I would say is fusion. Some citrus and sauces and toppings that I'd typically not associate with Japanese food. The flavors were great but perhaps more friendly to foreigners and not for those who want just sushi. Even sushi Taku is a bit more true to Japanese flavor profile. The rolls, nigiri, specials all tasted great. The side menu (skewers, soft shell) were okay. Honestly wish the soft shell came with a ponzu rather than another sauce. The matcha soft serve was a standout in flavor and texture, I'd honestly come back just for it. The restaurant overall was quiet but was picking up by when we left. Service was fantastic, they treat you very well. Overall 5/5, loved the experience. My one strong complaint is that the soy sauce tastes like water which affected my experience. Not sure if I just had a bad batch but it's even more watery than low sodium soy sauce which I already don't like.

Yelp
Went here with my cousins and had a great time. The service was quick to get our orders and quick to take empty plates off our table. The quality of the plating and everything was amazing and definitely one of the better ayce sushi places I have been to. The appetizers we amazing and all of us got pretty full from that but these were the rolls and apps we got. I can't remember the full names but the dish next to the tuna tartare was amazing and I really recommend that. I didn't eat the mussels but I heard that it was just ok and that the sauce was weird. The rolls were not bad I definitely would get some different ones in the future. We finished with the taro ice cream which was so decadent and creamy highly recommend! Overall beautiful restaurant and good variety of dishes.

Yelp
This may arguably be my new favorite AYCE sushi place! Found out about this place via tiktok from a friend so I was worried it was ganna be a long wait but it wasn't! Everything we ordered was delicious and tasted very high quality. I was excited about them offering hand rolls so I ordered 1 of each - all were fire! More AYCE sushi places should offer hand rolls. The vibes inside are cool! They have 3 floors of seating. I think this place will fit in nicely in Wicker Park!
google avatar

Helen C.

Yelp
Overall it was a good AYCE sushi experience. The place is modern, clean and spacious. And the AYCE selection was good and overall the fish tasted fresh. My favorite was toro wrapped in avocado. It was super decadent but not heavy since there is no rice. My only complaint is that you can only get one item from the premium section per person for the entire dining session. Most places will let you choose 1 item per round. Also children over 5 has to pretty much pay full price so not very kid friendly for your wallet. Other wise I really liked it and the matcha soft serve at the end was the best ending.
google avatar

Natasha A.

Yelp
Good sushi place in a neighborhood of good sushi places. Definitely gets overlooked because of all the other restaurants on Division but do not sleep on Nikko. They have a great jalapeño margarita, and a large drink menu of cute / photographable drinks. The delicious karaage, gyoza, and great rolls, I definitely recommend. We got the dragon on fire roll, which was delicious. We also got the Windy City roll, both were great. The fish was fresh tasting, and not slimy. They also have an all you can eat menu, we did not do that but a few people in the restaurant had it and had a lot left over. They have ice cream as well, and we brought our kid so naturally had to order some ice cream. They also gave us a free Matcha ice cream, which was so nice.
google avatar

Jonna N.

Yelp
Walking in, they were so nice. But there were a few things off about the visit. The pop we got was soooo warm like it was stored out by heat and even the ice in it couldn't cool it. It was such a weird sensation drinking it. Very off. They brought over a plate of nigiri and a piece fell off. I've never been at a place that was just so Willy nilly with putting plates on the table that they drop a piece off the plate. Nothing especially really notable about the food. I think I can go to a closer AYCE sushi.
google avatar

Julie T.

Yelp
Came in to celebrate 2 friends belated birthday and just to catch up. No line no wait, we were seated immediately. Upon entering, the entrance is pretty tight barely any space between the hostess and the door so loads of traffic jam here. Our server was nice and always readily available. She didn't quite explain the menu that well but the sushi bar was limit one per person for the whole duration of your dining experience. We thought she meant per round. Whichever that was fine because we filled up pretty quickly. These sushi kitchen items were really tasty! Hand rolls were pretty good too. Their AYCE menu was on the smaller side compared to Sushi Taku. They didn't have scallop as an option. The izakaya weren't all that. The pork belly and beef were a bit hard. Nigiri was stuffed with rice in my opinion. Rolls were pretty tasty and refreshing. All in all just an okay experience.
google avatar

Lana T.

Yelp
This place look amazing. I really like how the waiter asked if we wanted to be seated at a booth or window. The ambiance inside was really good and the design makes it feel like a sushi restaurant. This was all you can eat sushi and seeing the hand rolls on the menu was really great. We had a couple hand rolls, one signature maki and some items from the bar menu. This place is a great place for family and friends to come and enjoy some sushi. There were so many options to choose from and definitely will come back soon.
google avatar

Jonathan B.

Yelp
The food was so fresh and tasted amazing! I definitely admire their presentation when it came to serving the dishes. We got the AYCE options, but I wish it included the hamachi kama; additionally, I wish they had tofu skin or the sashimi salad like other AYCE spots. The service was top notch; our server was always checking up on us and smiling whenever he came to our table. The ambiance is very pretty as you get nice seating and a view of all the sushi chefs making the dishes. There was a bit of a wait, but it was definitely well worth it. Would definitely come back again and try some other dishes from the sushi bar!
google avatar

Yelp
From the AYCE menu, we ordered: Signature Rolls - Division, Dragon on Fire, The Nikko, Amazing Tuna Nigiri - unagi, salmon, white tuna, sea bass Unagi & Sake Handroll Walu Tataki, Toro Wrap, Tuna Tartare Pork Belly, Chicken & Onion, and Beef Yakitori Karaage & Soft Shell Crab Matcha Soft Serve For ayce quality, the sushi is comparable or above average. What sets this new spot apart and above the rest is actually almost everything else on the menu: a sushi bar 1 dish per person sections, handrolls, and skewers. These you won't find at other ayce sushi spots in Chicago and the quality is pretty good. Service was good & friendly and there's plenty of seating inside.

Yelp
came on a friday night for a group of 5 and did not have to wait to be seated! the interior is very sleek and modern and our servers were nice. the food came out pretty quickly which was great! some highlights had to be the sushi bar items which unfortunately is one item per person for the whole dinner. they were all relatively really tasty. our group especially loveddd the matcha soft serve! it was flavorful and not too sweet. the handrolls were also fun and well presented in each carrier. i esp loved the unagi, maguro, and sake ones. the signature rolls we tried were a bit underwhelming so idk if we would get any of them again and the yakitori were seasoned pretty salty and a bit chewy. nigiri was good, but the rice was a little more than wanted. overall would love to come back just for the items they did so good on
google avatar

Kimmi M.

Yelp
Sugoi, ne? I was so excited to see Nikko Sushi Izakaya open on Division. It truly blows every other sushi restaurant in the immediate area out of the water. Why? One, the rice is good. Two, it has an inventive and creative menu that goes beyond Americanised maki. The AYCE menu is streamlined and servers explain how many of each section comes with the meal to start. I think this is really smart in order to get a taste of an appetizer, yakitori, maki, nigiri, etc while still having room to order another round. The AYCE menu is $32.99 per person. What sets Nikko Sushi apart starts with the incredible array of carpaccio and tataki. The Walu Tataki complemented by a homemade wasabi yuzu sauce was so incredibly buttery and bursting with flavour. Our server noted that all of the sauces were made in house and you could tell that there was a distinct freshness and creativity. The handrolls are small enough for two bites so you are able to sample a few different fillings as you make your way through this culinary journey. Having such high-quality fish in addition to lovely, tender yakitori was a beyond pleasant experience. The negima toriniku yaki was particularly tasty. I did find that the signature rolls were quite large (8 pieces) and while I don't often order rolls beyond a simple futomaki, it was nice to try for the first visit. The Green Devil and Tuna Tartare rolls both used soy paper over nori and were well-balanced. The nigiri are well-sized with well-seasoned rice which shows a higher level of care than other AYCE restaurants. I really hope Nikko keeps that up--it will continue to set them apart from even other restaurants on the street that have let quality and taste slip in order to turn tables. The beverage program is robust and they carry large format Japanese beers like a proper Izakaya. The interior and place settings are beautiful as well, and there is lots of space in order to accommodate any size of party. The service was very lovely as well, our main server Henry was very jovial and happy to talk through some of the more unique options on the menu that set Nikko apart. He also had previous Izakaya experience and you could tell by how comfortable and confident he was. All in all, I am elated to write this review and cannot wait to go back and try more things. I wish Nikko Sushi Izakaya much success. Itadakimasu!

Yelp
We heard the hand rolls were good here! Went here for AYCE and got the unagi hand rolls, sake hand roll, maguro hand roll, edamame, wings, gyuniku, tuna tartare, toro wrap, tuna tartare signature roll, the Nikko signature roll, and the vanilla matcha soft serve. Our favorites were the unagi hand rolls and edamame. Service was very quick every time we finished a plate and placed it to edge of table someone scooped it up. There's also a second floor as well!

Yelp
hi tourist here! got all you can eat sushi here for my visit and i loved jt here!! started off with iced water with lemon!! which our server kept making sure was filled! appreciate him!! the decor was beautiful and modern! the sushi here was delicious and satisfying!! my favorite was the seared salmon roll!!!! ended with some matcha soft serve!! overall good eats and beautiful aesthetics

Yelp
I did like it more than sushi takku but it is still an ayce sushi place. would probably stick with nigiri over the rolls!

Yelp
New AYCE sushi in wicker park area. Came here on a Wednesday evening and they were pretty packed! Luckily we were able to get seated right away but there was a wait shortly after. The interior is really nice since it has a more modern look to it. Servers were really nice and explained everything to us and went over the menu. Overall I think this is a solid place for AYCE. Just a few issues with food we had: we ordered both smoked salmon nigiri and the regular salmon nigiri but they tasted the same. The yakitori was tasty, especially the first round of beef skewers, but a little salty. Unfortunately, our second order came out overcooked and really chewy, which was a bit disappointing. The sushi bar apps tasted more higher quality than their regular rolls. Both were very flavorful and refreshing. The highlight for me was the dessert! We got the matcha soft serve. The flavor and depth of the matcha was amazing!! It reminded me of my Japan trip because the quality was so good.

Yelp
Great new modern AYCE sushi spot in Wicker park! The presentation was 10/10 and the appetizers were very unique and delicious. I loved the hand rolls and nigiri the best. Fish to rice ratio is great. The specialty rolls are different and unique flavors. I wish there was less options with tempura in the specialty rolls. Will definitely return and try more rolls! Service was 11/10 - our waiter was so kind and energetic. Will definitely return!

Yelp
Service was good. The sushi comes out fairly quick and the restaurant is bigger than it looks because it does have three floors. The sushi rolls are all good and fish is fresh. Love the options they have. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Nikko Sushi has taken over the old 50/50 location. The food here is phenomenal. Love the freshness of the options. the plating of the sushi is wonderful and very appetizing to the eyes. they have a liquor menu as well as a wide range of none alcoholic options. The waiter was extremely helpful for the first time us visiting this location. Explained how many rolls came with every other, and how their menu worked. The ambience of the restaurant is cozy but with a luxurious feel. Never felt rushed at all like some other sushi places. I only wish they had more range of appetizers like crispy spicy tuna (in my personal opinion) I didn't try the dessert menu because I was way too full by the time the option came around.

Yelp
We stumbled upon Nikko Sushi Izakaya by accident and quickly realized we'd be making it a regular spot for sushi. We ordered one of the specialty rolls, Amazing Tuna, Hamachi Kama, and the Chicken Wings. The wings could use more seasoning, however, the sushi and Kama were absolutely delicious! Hot Sake was served in perfect temperature and our waiter was very attentive. We look forward to a return visit!

Yelp
The ambiance is nice and service is pretty good as well. We stopped in for the AYCE dinner. We started with our 1 sushi bar menu item each. The jalapeño hamachi was amazing and by far my favorite part of the meal. The nigiri and hand rolls were fantastic. If you are doing AYCE, or even otherwise--I'd skip the rolls. The rolls weren't great. The fish in the rolls tasted and smelled fishy and was overly minced so there was a weird texture and no flavor. Usually I love sushi rolls so this was very disappointing. If I came back, I'd load up on nigiri and hand rolls and I also wanted to try the meat skewers. Those looked great.

Yelp
First time coming here and overall enjoyed this dining experience! Service was really fast, we got seated right away at a lovely booth. The aesthetics in the restaurant are beautiful and modern yet have a light and airy environment with the wood elements. The server was super friendly and explained how the AYCE sushi worked. The first section of the sushi bar on the AYCE sheet has 5 options but you can only pick 1 option per person. They had various appetizers, sushi rolls, and nigiri items to pick from. Overall similar to other AYCE sushi spots. I loved that they did have matcha ice cream included in their dessert, it was so yummy! I recommend their salmon tataki and unagi hand roll as a must try! Their nigiri has more meat than rice which I love but some may want a little more equal parts of rice. Overall a must try to check out in Wicker!

Yelp
Big fan of the ambience here, and our waiter was attentive and friendly. The AYCE was a great value, although we typically go for a BYOB place, which added an extra cost to our meal. All in all, good value for AYCE, and would return.

Yelp
Nikko Sushi Izakaya is truly the best! The sushi is always fresh, the flavors are clean, and the izakaya dishes have great variety. Service is fast and the staff is friendly. The place feels cozy and is perfect for a casual meal or dinner with friends. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I am interested to see how the process improves as they have not been open for long. The service was a bit slow and the staff seemed a bit frazzled but it could just be really busy and really new. I will say that sushi wise it was mid. There was quite a lot of rice in each. I probably would do the all you can eat portion specifically for the toro wrap and the yakitori. Just be aware that even though it is an all you can eat place, you can order only a specific amount per section (i.e. 2 nigiri per person, 1 yakitori per person, etc). This contributes to the long wait times. I would definitely come back for their yakitori (the beef and pork belly ones), and the matcha ice cream. This is a cute spot for date or to hang out with friends.

Yelp
Stopped in last week to check out the neighborhoods new sushi spot! Absolutely love the renovation of this location. The decor is modern and chic. Staff for being brand new were great and friendly. Food was delicious as well! Our favorite roll was the division roll and I will definitely return for that again soon.

Yelp
The food is 4 Service is 4 Ambiance a solid 4.5 We wanted to try this place since it opened. There are some good, but limited options. The AYCE option isn't really unlimited. When you restrict an item to 1 per person, that's a bit deceptive. An AYCE place should price it in to the experience. The nigiri was good, not great. The tuna was so-so, but everything else was really tasty. I did love the Ika bowl, and was thrilled to have a house salad with ginger dressing. Presentation for everything was great. We didn't feel like drinking, although we should have since a cocktail was $10 that day. Oops! The tea was yummy, and they refilled the pot, so a good value. The one thing that was not on the paper sheet as part of the AYCE was hamachi kama. Apparently, it was omitted, but it can still be ordered as part of the unlimited option. I think the owner(s) think this is an area that is price conscious. Thus, the 32.99, when Sushi Taku is 35.99. This neighborhood spends money without a care in the world.

Yelp
Such a great addition to Wicker! $33 for all you can eat sushi or they have a la cart. The rolls are premium and they are HUGE. They definitely don't skimp on the quality or portions for all you can eat. Everything was very fresh and came out very quickly. Service was 10 out of 10. Everyone was incredibly friendly and really took the time to walk us through the menu and options. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
One of the best ayce sushi places I've been to. The service is excellent as orders are quick (less than 10mins). Sushi is fresh and on point. Ambiance is nice as well. Will come again.

Yelp
Had a great experience at Nikki Sushi. Their AYCE menu is superb. Though they have an AYCE menu, probably due to its demand in US in general, the ambience and the flavors were that of a more up-scale sushi restaurant. I would've definitely loved more non-tempura/non-shrimp/non-imitation-crab options for the rolls as most of the rolls had one of these with the main seafood. The staff was quite efficient and helpful. They ensured to check in time and time again to see if we needed anything more and as a general check-in re the food. I would definitely go again. Maaaay even betray my other AYCE sushi joint for this one.

Yelp
I saw this place on IG and decided to give it a try even though I usually go to Sushi Taku which is down the block for AYCE. I thought it would be nice to try something new to see how it compares to other AYCE in the Chicagoland area since my friends and I have been to most of them already. We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and this place was just not good. The menu ordering was super confusing as well. I took a picture of the menu with the right side labeling how many orders we can get each time by the server. The reason behind that is that they're scared of people over ordering and getting charged which is fair, but I had a hard time understanding how to order. My friends had to dumb it down for me after the server explained to us the mechanics. Never thought it would be so difficult to order some sushi at an AYCE place. The sushi bar items can only be ordered once depending on how many people are in the party, so since we had 3 people we were only able to try 3 items. We did the salmon tataki, hamachi jalapeno, and toro wrap. The salmon tataki did not taste nor looked like the salmon we've been eating all night. The hamachi jalapeno was ok. The toro wrap was just a mouthful of avocado. We each had some handrolls. My friend did not like the unagi, I didn't like the sake because it's seared salmon, and the maguro just felt like a gush of sauce in my mouth every bite I took. I had some pork belly skewers and thought they were good. The grilled chicken wings were not marinated at all because it was super bland on the inside and salt were just sprinkled on top the chicken skin. It's an izakaya place, but you only get 5 types of skewers to choose from which is kind of misleading. Honestly, the vanilla/green tea soft serve was really the highlight of the night which is sad because I didn't pay this much just to have some good ice cream. The inside of the restaurant was super duper cute and nice. You can also choose to sit by the window if you want to people watch and enjoy a nice breeze. We chose to sit inside the restaurant cause it was super hot that day. I don't think I will return because the food is subpar in my opinion.

Yelp
Quality AYCE sushi. I'm a foodie.

Yelp
If you're a nigiri lover this place is for you! The rolls were amazing also but what really got me hooked on this place is how amazing their fish quality is. Perfect ratio of fish to rice (not too much rice like some other AYCE places). Their appetizers also put this AYCE spot above the rest. Everyone is super friendly and we were constantly getting refills which is always nice. One of my new favorite spots.

Yelp
It's okay. Wasn't a huge fan of the apps as they were just okay. Some items were just too loaded with sauce, like their hand rolls. Sushi was okay as well. I think there's better ayce places nearby that have better quality

Yelp
We really enjoyed Nikki Sushi Izakaya! The inside is really nice and honestly more spacious than we thought. The service was excellent and our waiter was very friendly. We chose the all you can eat option and tried 3 rolls, 3 Ngiri, 3 skewers, 2 of the sushi bar options and finished with matcha ice cream. It is really good value for great tasting sushi. All in all we left very satisfied and definitely plan to go back.
